DQ staff is amazing, the lady named Michelle who works there who answered the phone both times on memorial day that i called, she goes above and beyond helping others and serving with a great attitude. I've been at DQ and she is always cleaning, working, serving, greeting with a smile and warm welcome. She has been there for as long as we've been going there and she insures orders are well made and accurate. The food we ordered was ready quickly, the issue was the Door Dash driver took forever to bring it to us, accepting other orders etc. Thankfully DQ had it packaged well. And the driver brought it in good condition, it was just cold because it took so long getting to us, not at all DQ fault. We had to put food in the oven. The blizzards were some what melted but it was fine, we ate it all without much issue. So we did not complain about it because this is just the way it is, door dash workers need to get as many orders as they can to provide for themselves, and i'm glad to be able to get food brought to my home, especially from our favorite DQ store. I sure hope the lady gets a raise, she cheers me up just stopping in at DQ with her welcome. read more

The service wasn't what I expected for an order of 2 original cones. It took quite some time for them to be ready. The cones were great once they came out. Can't beat the flavor of DQ original, it definitely hit. However the establishment itself was in a horrible state. When standing on the right hand for my order it started to smell so bad. read more

Came in at 9:30 pm and was told my dog was allowed in and would be given a pup cup of ice cream. That was a cool idea seeing as the outside patio was not allowing customers. Ordered banana split and peanut buster parfait and feed the dog the pup cup. That was very messy and when done at 9:45 I went to use the washroom to wash are the ice cream off my hands from trying to let the dog eat his pup cup but told it was close because it's 9:45 even though the sign said 10 pm. I was in Oceanside and happened to notice that this Dairy Queen was a full service DQ as opposed to the ice cream only location near me in Carmel Mountain. I remembered loving their chicken strips as a kid so I decided to stop in for a quick lunch. I chose a side of gravy for dipping and that was definitely the right choice. Of course, you can't go to DQ without indulging in a blizzard and I'm so happy that they offer a mini size as it's the perfect amount for a treat without going overboard. I had never really been to a DQ and so naturally I had a question or two. I wasn't treated like I was dumb, nor was I rushed. So, I really appreciated that. Always been a fanatic of Dairy Queen, even before I was employed at several locations. "Happy Tastes Good" but I usually don't find happiness in my visit. I'll grab a chicken strip basket and they always satisfy my hunger and palate. When I move onto my sweet frozen treat I'm always disappointed. I'll order a brownie Cupfection (either an Oreo or Heath depending on my mood) and the brownie is always colder than my ice cream. As a previous employee, I distinctly remember studying my ice cream handbook and reading that the brownie is warmed up in the oven (IT EVEN HAS A SETTING FOR 1-2 BROWNIES). I walked in fully intending to buy some something, but I asked to use the bathroom first (bathroom needs a code) since I don't wanna bring my food in the bathroom and leave it unattended on a table. So, I asked an employee for the code, and she said, "Ask her," while pointing at the the employee RIGHT next to her taking the order, rather dismissively and without looking at me. So, I waited for my turn and asked the other employee taking the order for the code. She said, "It's only for customers." And I said I will be buying something, I just need to use the bathroom first. Then she looks at the other employee I asked first, as if to get her approval, then she said, "I'm sorry you have to buy something first." So, I said, "Seriously?" I mean, I'm pretty sure I didn't look homeless, (there's a large number of homeless people in the area), which I'm sure is the reason why they have such "policy." The worst DQ I've been to. 1. We asked for a dipped cone with a sprinkle core, something we've gotten at other DQs before. The cashier was like "yeah I don't know if we can do that." How about go ask and/or at least pretend to try to accommodate the customers. 2. The two chocolate dipped cones came out already dripping with chocolate and ice cream. Awful attitude here. Sat down in the outside patio waiting for someone before we ordered some ice cream after getting angrychikz. "Maribel" came out and very rudely interrupted me while I was on a phone call. Telling me to buy something or move to the other seating area, while there was plenty of space there. I was very disturbed by the way she approached me, so I decided to at least wait for my friend to see if they wanted ice cream still. Then ANOTHER employee comes out. At this point nobody is sitting down in the area, but me. This employee was a bit nicer at first, but I was now completely turned off from buying anything at this location. The second employee still ended up making backhanded comments. They must have issues with seating outside and non customers because it felt like a very hostile environment off the bat. Me and the kids decided to take a walk on the strip after we ate and wanted some IceCream so we decided to get some Dairy Queen since there isn't one near where we live. Once we arrived the doors were wide open since it was a great sunny day and we were quickly greeted with a smile from the employees and the sound of happy kids everywhere. I was also excited since I haven't had a Blizzard in awhile!!! I ordered the Banana Split Blizzard, my son ordered the M&M Blizzard and my daughter ordered the IceCream Sandwich. I love DQ because I grew up on them so they bring me back to my childhood. When I was a kid DQ would send me a coupon for a free ice cream in the mail. I thought this was so cool so I'm going to see if I can get on that list again. The old location which is right down the street definitely needed a face lift. Well instead of the face lift they just moved up the street. This location is much bigger but there's no patio like the one DQ. Came in one night and was happy that they weren't closing until 10 or so. I wanted something to go so I just got a Royal Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard which was pretty good. I wanted the strawberry funnel cake but I didn't have time to sit down and eat. This was my first time at the new location and everything is really nice. As much as I want to leave this place a good review for the quality of food/ice cream, the way they gate keep their restroom code from customers is ridiculous. Don't come here if you need to pee and there's a line because they literally REFUSE to give you the code until the second your payment goes through. On top of that, they're so rude about it that it makes you, and other customers, uncomfortable like you're trying to trick them. I've been coming here for years but the bathroom code has gotten so stupid that I probably won't be back. On top of that, the bathroom wasn't clean so I'm not sure what the point of heavy security is. The employees all look miserable and maybe it's the management, but it's sad because the blizzards are great and the location is convenient. read more
