They also have a small selection of candies & some old school Knick knacks to look at! A ton of options of ice cream flavors, shakes, malts, sundaes, you name it! The place itself is extremely small, no AC, & gets CRAMPED inside to the point you're squishing your way through people just to get out. There is some seating outside, none inside. I was so disappointed in my Chocotaco and so overpriced at $6.00. The waffle portion tasted stale and rubbery, the nuts tasted old, the ice cream was not ice cream, or t least it didn't taste like it. It was more ice than cream, probably made with lower quality ingredients and they were out of almost every single flavor we wanted. We blitzed down the menu and literally one in five flavors were "sold out" which I might expect on a blistering July afternoon but on a dreary January day I think you can communicate better. Just cross it off the sign and save us all some trouble. As far as service goes, we've definitely had better. When we asked the counter person what her favorite flavor was, she peered up from her phone like a deer in headlights. We had to repeat ourselves twice because she couldn't seem to be bothered to put her phone down. Also, I find it odd that an establishment requires patrons to wear masks, has a strict COVID policy for number of people inside the building and a whole ingress/egress flow (you go in one door and out the other) but the person working the counter isn't wearing a mask. Customer service here is horrible. Never in my life have I ever been to a place a business where the cashier/employee (whatever that guy calls himself) feels so comfortable to have the audacity to treat customers in such a disgusting way. It was our first time there TODAY around 4pm and my 4 year old wanted ice cream. So we decided to check it out. I am also there with my 14 month old and we're in a bit of a time crunch. We went through the hall because we saw the place not too far from their sign outside the building. My daughter ran in and was excited about getting ice cream. The man decides to question something about a sign. Which I then look for it ( I am with my little girl that's excited for ice cream, eyes are on her running and not looking at signs directly) and see that they had a paper sign taped to a gum ball machine saying "this is an exit use main entrance". This meant I had to take my daughter out of the store to go around the building to go in front of the store. After this I respond and said yes just saw it but we're inside doesn't make sense to go back out and go around. He got very aggressive and started talking about about myself and my kids to the only 2 adults purchasing ice cream. Then he started yelling "oh ok I don't care" but kept saying it over and over again while the people were trying to pay and make it super uncomfortable for us and them. Then he continued to escalate the situation (again, the same people are still waiting to pay), by continuing to then say that were lucky he didn't care and gave me a super uncomfortable stare all while pointing his finger at me in a very aggressive angry manner. Mind you, my kids are with me, there were 2 adults waiting to pay for their ice cream and that was it. The place was empty there was no one else in there so it's not like we were cutting in line or in anyone's way. He continues to go on and then talk super fast which I was having a hard time understanding to then have him repeat and say something about "I bet if I told your ass you had to go back out and go around you would do it huh!?" At this point I'm baffled and almost in shock he was being so aggressive and disrespectful. To then finally go back to the people trying to pay and continue! He then proceeds to say "don't come in here with your disrespectful smart ass" and chuckling to the customers STILL WAITING TO PAY! This is my issue with his behavior- he was having some sort of a power trip and behaved in such a disrespectful and very aggressive manner to a mother and two small children. My daughter was excited for her ice cream, we weren't causing harm. The business had doors open in a hallway with other business with doors open with normal foot traffic. If it's such an issue then maybe don't have doors open and be more polite on your approach or state on your outside sign in BOLD big letters don't enter through hall, but come on it's a business and I can't imagine that people don't do this everyday. I will definitely not let this one go, I'm actually surprised I kept calm because he was threatening me in a manner that was very inappropriate. I'm born and raised in Oceanside and believe in helping small business but this was absolutely horrific. I had to turn down ice cream for my daughter and just be there bigger person and walk away, while my daughter is saying he wasn't nice...and she's 4! My silence said everything and please look back at that footage because this person was aggressive and vulgar. Not a safe environment for children or women. I'm going to escalate this because I felt so uncomfortable and threatened. My son and his church youth group and leaders (very large group) went here every week during June and July, easily spending over $200 a week. My son paid for his ice cream and never received his change back - which was over $15. I walked back with him to get his change, and the male employee told me that my son had "walked away". Now if you've ever been here, you know how tiny this ice cream shop is so obviously not only was my son with a large group waiting for each other, but he could not have gotten too far for this employee not to have given him his change back. Both the male employee and the female employee were very rude and acted inconvenienced that they had to go in their TIP JAR to give my child his money back. Dishonest and unethical employees and business. Do not go here. UPDATE TO OWNER CHRISTINA'S REPLY: The fact that you are trying to claim that your customers leave up to $15 in change behind 90% percent of the time as a TIP for your employees is just plain pathetic. A good place for sweets when visiting Oceanside harbor or when riding your bike down the San Luis Rey River Bike Trail. Amazing how many sweet shops survive in places like this. It wasn't even hot out the day we biked here, yet this was a pretty crowded place. The ice cream is from a creamery called Cascade Glacier, don't worry I've never heard of it either. They had plenty of flavors but it was the Marionberry Sorbet that sounded most appealing to me. Deep purple in color, it was a pretty good tasting flavor. Other flavors tasted good too. Such a fun little local shop and awesome customer service! We stopped by this shop for dessert after dinner on Friday night. The hours posted on Yelp said they closed at 8pm so when we arrived at 7:30 we were really disappointed. After being completely crushed, a woman sitting on the bench in the hall, that apparently worked there asked if we wanted ice cream and offered to open up the shop! The hours here are seasonal based upon business so be sure to verify if you come by later in the evening! We were so impressed that she opened back up just for us. We were able to sample flavors and she even gave our friend's dog his own little cup of ice cream! Everything was yummy and they have a large candy selection for a great sweet fix! It's a great shop to bring your kids to or just feel nostalgic and bring out your inner kid. The floor has hand painted flowers on it and I thought it was gorgeous and just so unique. It was a nice touch. I absolutely love supporting small businesses and I appreciated that they opened back up for us. It was a great end to our night and little weekend getaway.
