We've been a regular here for the past five years. See previous review below. We're also regular at the Fuji in Newton and Quincy (Fuji at WoC). November 3, 2025 at around 3pm -- The server/waitress today did not seem pleasant at all, as if we were asking her for free food and she just didn't think we were worthy of her serving such free food. At one point, she even cut us off saying that she "got it" so we didn't get to complete the sentence to clarify what we wanted (Salmon Roe Ikura), and unsurprisingly she mistakenly entered an order for Salmon Roll. Roll instead of Roe (Ikura).

Great maki rolls and potstickers at this South end restaurant. I got the sake salmon with rice and miso soup. I also got the potstickers. They were good!

High-key obsessed with this place and obsessed with the giant sushi boat we got. This was definitely my favorite place I ate at during my short week in Boston. We had a reservation and was promptly seated. The menu is kinda big and a little overwhelming but my friends and I knew we were gonna get a boat. We originally was going to get the medium boat but we opted for the big boat. Just fyi - the prices on the website is not accurate. They don't have a mocktail menu but they'll turn their cocktails into mocktails and I would definitely recommend. I think I got some lychee drink and it was delicious. The food came pretty quickly and everything was fresh and delicious. Definitely would recommend if you're craving sushi in Boston.

This great restaurant is in the trendy Ink Block development on Harrison Ave. It offers a sleek, modern interior with wood accents, intimate lighting, and a cozy fireplace lounge that is very stylish! It seems ideal for date nights or relaxed evenings with friends. The food is delicious and fresh! The friendly, attentive service is a highlight--staff are knowledgeable about the menu and offer recommendations. The restaurant offers artfully composed sushi, flavorful non-sushi dishes, and an inviting atmosphere, all backed by solid service. Our favorites were the Avocado Salad, Lobster Rangoon, Miss Waldorf, Prism Dream, Salt and Pepper Calamari, Fried Rice, and Volcano. Definitely, a must if you're looking for great food and an awesome vibe.

The sushi is amazing and the restaurant went above and beyond as we were celebrating our anniversary here. The Fuji boat is fantastic, we shared between two people but I'd say it can definitely feed three, our favorite roll was the Black Truffle maki. I like that the lighting is soft and they intentionally keep plenty of room between the tables when it's not too busy. Great experience!

Fuji, how could I not gush about you guys. Great service, reliable spicy tuna roll, and immaculate settings. A perfect date night spot or weekday "treat yourself" dinner.

I ordered takeout while staying for a work trip in Boston. I got the Vegetarian delight (tofu, lotus root, celery, carrots, mushroom, asparagus, snow peas, etc), miso soup, and white rice. The dish was really good, I got it extra spicy. It had just enough sauce to coat my rice and veggies. I could have used more tofu, I only had about 4 large pieces. I would order extra tofu next time. The miso soup was fresh and warm, the white rice was also up to par. The takeout was really well packed, still warm, and came with thoughtful utensils. Overall 4.5/5!

For our final stop in Boston, we set our hearts out on a Japanese restaurant and ended up at Fuji at Ink Block. Based on the high ratings and their very attractive menu, we just knew we had to stop by. Starting off with a couple of appetizers, the Lobster Rangoon was spectacular. These little parcels were jam-packed with cream cheese and lobster. A great spin on your typical crab rangoon. We also wanted to try their Satay Chicken Lettuce Wraps. The chicken was very well marinated and incredibly tender. This would have been a great main entree. For the main course, I wanted to try as many different types as possible of fish the restaurant offered so I opted in for their Fuji Don. This included tuna, tuna toro, salmon, seared salmon toro, sea urchin, eel, seared scallop, seared sweet shrimp, and micro greens over a bed of sushi rice and arugula. Each piece of fish was at its optimum quality. This was a phenomenal dish, and I was absolutely floored with the presentation. For my final bite, I saw under their "The Finer Nigiri" there were several choices. I was told the Black Truffle Foie Gras was very popular, and my mind was made up. This came in one of the best presentations I've seen. It came encased under a glass dome with smoke. The server removed the dome, and the smoke slowly dissipated revealing the two pieces of nigiri underneath. Once again, my jaw was on the ground. At roughly $30 for these two pieces of sushi, they were stunning. Overall, I had a great experience here at Fuji at Ink Block and would highly recommend it to any traveler or Bostonian. I can't wait to return once I'm in the area again to try their other items. 10/10

Amazing service !!!! It was my birthday celebration and l worked all week! Super long day and as soon as l entered they seated me right away. Our waitress Tina was ready and knowledgeable. Sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chef's accommodated us so nice. The service was spectacular and l loved how Tina made conversation with our group as we were friends!!! Will absolutely be coming back again

Fuji is one of those restaurants where you can go with a big party or with just one other person, whether it's a casual dinner or there's something to celebrate. Their service and quality of food has not changed throughout the years. This location is a little more upscale than the other Fuji locations in my opinion, I love the decor and ambience. My experience with Cindy was great when I last visited. She was very informative and attentive. Super friendly. It was a busy night but she made sure to check in on us multiple times to ensure our food and drinks were good. We ordered a boat and it was able to feed the six of us. There was a selection of different sashimi cuts with a variety of nigiris and a few makis. Everything tasted fresh and butter. Drinks were also great! Some favorites I always order when I visit include avocado salad, seared sake toro nigiri, and hamachi kama, and salmon wonton chips. Excited for the next time I visit Ink Block again!

    Unagi bento

An upscale sushi place at Ink Block on Harrison Ave right next to Whole Foods. I came here for lunch on Sunday with a few friends and we all ended up ordering the bento lunchbox. The service was very attentive. I got the unagi bento box that comes with tempura, roll, edamame, miso soup, and a side salad. The tempura was fried nicely and not overly battered. The unagi was good and the portion was filling enough for lunch. The menu has so many options, so if you're checking this place out you'll definitely find something that'll satisfy your taste buds.

    Dear Hyung (~$26)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Sweet Flames Cocktail (~$16): Japanese vodka, Milagro silver, Hibiscus lychee, strawberry, fresh lemon, and fire lime wheel Seaweed Salad ($12) Sweet Beef Teriyaki (~$16): premium flank steak marinated in a sweet soy sauce, grilled with fresh pineapple, and served with pickled daikon & carrots, and arugula Miss Waldorf (~$26): spicy salmon and mango, topped with seared salmon, drizzled with torch sauce, ponzu, unagi sauce and topped with micro greens Prism Dream (~$26): spicy crab mix and avocado, topped with seared tuna, seared salmon, rainbow tobiko, torch sauce, and unagi sauce Dear Hyung (~$26): unagi and mango, topped with salmon, grilled striper, spicy scallop, tobiko, unagi sauce, and mango purée Rainbow Maki (~$21): kanikama, cucumber, avocado, topped with an assortment of thinly sliced sashimi Aya's take: Oh my goodness, some of the best sushi I've ever had! I was in Boston for a few days and got a craving for sushi I couldn't shake. After checking out a bunch of sushi spots, I'm so glad I landed on Fuji at Ink Block. I had a reservation which I highly recommend securing as they do get busy during dinner hours. The restaurant is classy, elegant, yet playful. It's perfect for a date night, catching up with a friend, or to just satisfy that sushi craving! I started off with the Sweet Flames Cocktail which was absolutely phenomenal. This is by far one of the best cocktails I've ever had. Not only was it super light, fragrant, and refreshing, the flavors of the lychee, strawberry, and lemon did not clash one bit. It was superb - a must-order! The Seaweed Salad portion was generous and also tasted extremely fresh. This is a must-have on the table when I'm having sushi. The Sweet Beef Teriyaki was pretty decent; sweet, savory, and most bites were tender. I almost wish some bites had a char on them like you would expect with teriyaki-style cooking. Still great, nonetheless. Now onto the sushi! Each and every sushi roll literally melted in my mouth. These rolls had a combination of incredibly fresh fish, balanced flavors, and perfect textures. Each bite was a work of art. Miss Waldorf was my favorite with Prism Dream being a close second. Dear Hyung was also super tasty but had some slight fishiness from the unagi. And you can't go wrong with the Rainbow Roll. Each roll comes with 6 pieces which I thought wouldn't be enough but each piece is massive. It was more than enough food - we were stuffed! I highly recommend checking out Fuji if you're in Boston. Your tastebuds will thank you!

In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.

At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.

Such a fun experience and honestly such a deal for how many drinks and food you get! Definitely…read moreneed reservations, even on a weekday. You have to enter the building with a small fox picture, go down a set of stairs and check in at the counter of said restaurant before they lead you into the back where the speakeasy is. The menu is "set" in that they have a particular cuisine focus for the night and the four food dishes are predetermined as well as the first drink. That being said, you get to order three more drinks from their cocktail menu that range from lighter to more spirit forward, ending with more dessert type cocktails. All the drink flavors were so unique and a fun twist. The food was actually very substantial. Good flavors as well. Our favorite dishes were the lamb cigars (large egg roll shape with eggplant and spices) and the whole branzino. Everything was good though. Service was a very friendly and they were open about the fact that if you didn't like a drink they'd make you another one.

She was great! Really enjoyed talking with her and she had great drinks recommendations. The food was delicious and very unique which was refreshing. Its a 2 hour experience with 4 drinks, 3 food courses and a dessert. You definitely wont be hungry after. Highly recommend for a date night.
