Very sad greasy vegetable tempura. Inedible! They didn't even send actual tempura dipping sauce, they sent soy sauce. So I made my own.

Today was my first time ordering from this place I ordered vegetable tempura, kara agi chicken, and a matzo ball soup which actually came with noodles and the broth is pretty dark for matzo ball soup. How was the food you ask? Well I can describe it in literally two words... Extremely disappointing... Please refer to pics. I don't think much more needs to be said. This will be my first and last order from this establishment. And I was so excited to have some nice crunchy tempura and chicken with some actual tempura dipping sauce instead of that nonsense they sent. I really wanted to like this place and I thought how clever they make matzo ball soup at a Japanese restaurant. That right there should have told me everything... Never again. Order at your own risk!

Fuji Hana, or "Fuji" is probably the number one kosher Asian restaurant in the area, and typically frequented by the Jewish community nearby. It's almost a sure thing that the food will be consistently good. While the ambiance can sometimes feel like a high school cafeteria, the service is speedy and the food itself is what keeps everyone coming back. The menu has something like 100 items, and everyone's got their favorite. However, a few key options stand out to me: 1) String beans - probably blanched and then pan blistered in a garlic sauce, these beans are crunchy and flavorful. Others have tried and failed to replicate this recipe over the years. 2) Salad - they've got this salad composed of iceberg, cucumber and tomato and it's super crunchy. There's a green dressing (probably most similar to 'green goddess' from Chop't) and a ginger dressing, both great. However, the green dressing recently tasted watered down. 3) Sesame chicken, lemon chicken, finger lickin chicken, chicken katsu, or really anything in the special items list. Sushi is always fresh, and they've recently added in a crispy rice, topped with spicy tuna and avocado (although it wasn't the kind you'd expect in Manhattan). The fried rice (with chicken, beef, or salad) is consistently fresh and crunchy, but sometimes needs salt or soy sauce. And I wish they would give some kind of spicy sauce on the side, because spice doesn't seem to be part of their menu. I don't think they've changed much on the menu in years, and their takeout/delivery is always speedy. The staff is all Asian, for an authentic feel. The manager has been there since I've been a kid, and is a staple of the restaurant. Another thing to mention is that they seemed to recently do away with their white tablecloths - gives it a slightly less formal feel, but probably saves them tons of time and $. For dessert - get the Toll house pie a la mode. It's non dairy (to comply with Jewish dietary laws) but is sure to please. Oh, and tell them it's your birthday.

Went there last night and balled out. ordered everything on the menu and it was delicious highlights: Beef fried dumplings Fried chicken wings Crispy Tuna & avacado finger lickin chicken or 'new chicken' Mashed potatoes make sure you tell your waiters to chill and bring the courses in actual courses or else you will get hit from every direction, and these asians are fast!

My Dad and I severely liked this place. Had soup, sushi with brown rice and sashimi. The fish was huge and fresh. Great idea Pop!

Tables are abit small especially when meals are always serve in large platters. The table barely fit all the dishes so they had to remove the condiment tray to make space but it's not ideal with the squirming kids. I suggest changing some of the plate sizing to better fit the tables. The condiment tray have 4 sauces available: ketchup, sweet & sour sauce or is it sweet chili sauce?, hot sauce and low sodium soy sauce. They also do not provide the claypot sweetened soy sauce. The only soy sauce available (is low sodium) but that makes the dish saltier. Great service and good food. The baked rice dish- do not recommend. My friend said HK Tea is better. The sizzling platters are soo goood. Of the claypot rice, the classic pork ribs is the best. Chicken one was too dry for hubby's taste. The HK milk tea taste malty which one of us enjoy and another did not. Their regular rice plate portion size is abit small. The noodles are abit bland if you order that instead of rice to go with the sizzling plate. Veggies are just steamed and healthy but wish they were seasoned. The condiment tray should also include salt and pepper.

Dipping their toes in so many different arenas might actually be their detriment because they're going for everything while not excelling in most. I would rather they cut down on some dishes and make sure all are great instead. I absolutely love their Thai fried chicken, which is so affordable (8 pieces for $12), and tastes so crispy on the outside but so moist and flavorful on the inside. It comes with a tangy fish sauce, but you can add different green curry and/or red curry for 50 cents each. I like it best with the fish sauce. However, that's the Thai fried chicken is the only dish I absolutely love from this place. Everything else is very mediocre, which is unfortunate. 6 rolls bento - $15; comes with california roll, spicy tuna roll, lobster salad roll, salmon avocado roll, eel cucumber roll, shrimp tempura, kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken. It's a lot of food for $15, and the sushi actually tastes decent. The kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken are just tiny portions, but the fried chicken are like nuggets and taste really bad. 4/5 Mushroom noodles - $10; It's so rare to find such affordable e-fu noodles but sadly, it tastes nothing like what e-fu noodles should taste like. I wouldn't even know that they're supposed to be e-fu noodles if I just blindly tasted. I would not get this again here. 3/5 Pad see ew beef - $13; Again, like the mushroom noodles, it didn't taste like pad see ew. It's missing that sweetness and charred factor that's usually present in pad see ew. 3/5 Pad Kra Pao (??) - I can't remember if it's this dish that I got, but it was some type of Thai rice dish with a meat sauce. It was so terrible, I only ate 10% of it and didn't take it to go. 1/5 Pad thai - I didn't try it but my friend got it and the color looked really off. Aside from the food, there are other improvements to be made here. It seems like a family-run restaurant, with only two workers facing the customers. It's really hard to get their attention when the restaurant is busy. The space is very tight and looks like it could be more well-maintained. They also need more menus. Hard to share just one with the whole table.
