Today was my first time ordering from this place I ordered vegetable tempura, kara agi chicken, and a matzo ball soup which actually came with noodles and the broth is pretty dark for matzo ball soup. How was the food you ask? Well I can describe it in literally two words... Extremely disappointing... Please refer to pics. I don't think much more needs to be said. This will be my first and last order from this establishment. And I was so excited to have some nice crunchy tempura and chicken with some actual tempura dipping sauce instead of that nonsense they sent. I really wanted to like this place and I thought how clever they make matzo ball soup at a Japanese restaurant. That right there should have told me everything... Never again. Fuji Hana, or "Fuji" is probably the number one kosher Asian restaurant in the area, and typically frequented by the Jewish community nearby. It's almost a sure thing that the food will be consistently good. While the ambiance can sometimes feel like a high school cafeteria, the service is speedy and the food itself is what keeps everyone coming back. The menu has something like 100 items, and everyone's got their favorite. However, a few key options stand out to me: 1) String beans - probably blanched and then pan blistered in a garlic sauce, these beans are crunchy and flavorful. Others have tried and failed to replicate this recipe over the years. 2) Salad - they've got this salad composed of iceberg, cucumber and tomato and it's super crunchy. There's a green dressing (probably most similar to 'green goddess' from Chop't) and a ginger dressing, both great. However, the green dressing recently tasted watered down. 3) Sesame chicken, lemon chicken, finger lickin chicken, chicken katsu, or really anything in the special items list. Sushi is always fresh, and they've recently added in a crispy rice, topped with spicy tuna and avocado (although it wasn't the kind you'd expect in Manhattan). The fried rice (with chicken, beef, or salad) is consistently fresh and crunchy, but sometimes needs salt or soy sauce. And I wish they would give some kind of spicy sauce on the side, because spice doesn't seem to be part of their menu. I don't think they've changed much on the menu in years, and their takeout/delivery is always speedy. The staff is all Asian, for an authentic feel. The manager has been there since I've been a kid, and is a staple of the restaurant. Another thing to mention is that they seemed to recently do away with their white tablecloths - gives it a slightly less formal feel, but probably saves them tons of time and $. For dessert - get the Toll house pie a la mode. It's non dairy (to comply with Jewish dietary laws) but is sure to please. Oh, and tell them it's your birthday. read more

Been here twice, and both times were pretty underwhelming. The food is definitely good, and tastes clean/fresh. But for the price you pay the portions are enough for an infant and that's about it. If the portion sizes were closer to standard I'd probably consider a third trip here..but it just feels like a rip off. read more

Everything here is good. The salads are always fresh and the dressings are amazing. I prefer the chicken dishes over the beef dishes, but both are always a hit with my family. I can't say how nice this place is. First of all the food is delicious. I really enjoyed everything I ate. The flavor of the food was excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection. Their service is impeccable. They didn't rush us at all. And we stayed and sat forever. We ate several courses of food and the waitresses gave us time inbetween and didn't disturb us. When we needed them they were quick to come. The restaurant is clean and it isn't noisy which made it a comfortable and cosy place for dinner conversation. The only bad thing I could say about this place is that they added a tip. I like to choose and pay my own tip. And in actuality I would have given a bigger tip if they hadn't given me a "service charge". I paid $77 for dinner for two people. My friend had a collection of appetizers. read more

Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical about coming here after reading some of the reviews. However, it was totally fine. The sushi choice at a kosher joint is obviously more limited than in a regular sushi place. However, there is still sooo much more they can do while refraining from crab, eel, and other treif seafood; seriously. Anyway, the rolls I tried (yellowtail, salmon, and sweet potato tempura) were all good. I sampled some other dishes, as well - salad, veggie tempura, fried rice, fish - and all were at least good enough, though none great. The beer selection was absolutely abysmal - a few bottles of a couple of mass-market brews. They have wine and liquors, too, but none were ordered. The menu is simultaneously over and under inclusive. There is a huge hodgepodge of cuisines, but a sadly limited selection of each. Why not more interesting -- and SUSTAINABLE - fish? Why not more veggie options? Servers were nice and handled a large group ranging in age from toddler to nonagenarian well. Fuji Hana -- its a real classic. the foot is delicious. service is great. they are quick to provide food and quick to clean up! maybe to quick!! but its fuji hana. one of a kind. every single thing on the menu is delicious. Food is ok, prices have increased lately to an an average of $28.00 for main course meal. The sushi is ok, but may improve given their new sushi chef as of 3/1/12. Expect the usual slow service and non english speaking waiters to be still be part of the usual trend. I think it can improve. Recommend they start taking other CC's besides Visa and M/C. Customer service sucks!!!! I came in earlier to pick up my food and all six employees ignored me. I asked for some assistance and absolutely no one would help. The cook even seemed empathetic and looked as if he wished he could help me. They acted like they didn't even know English smh. Finally one of the young men TRIED to help me but was pulled away by one of the girls. The young lady at the front yelled at me and said "I DONT DO THAT" with a VERY NASTY attitude!!! I come to this restaurant a couple times a year, so I think it was time to give this place a review. Today, I went there for lunch. The restaurant is clean, with decent service. Though I have to say that the cashier was very rude to me when I asked her for change. I ordered one order of New! Finger Lickin' Good Chicken. I think that this is one of the best chicken dishes that I ever ate! The chicken itself is cooked decently, and the sauce is just outstanding! If you love yourself a sweet-tasting sauce then this dish is for you. The order comes with a salad, and some rice on the side. But here is where I explain why I give it three stars.. The food is overpriced, and it is not what it says on the menu. On the menu, it says that my order would cost $26. But I was surprised to see that my order was actually $33, when you add the service and tax charges! I think that the pricing is absurd and needs to be updated. Terrible . Ordered a few rolls for take out .When came to pick it up was ignored for several minutes and there were not many customers there . Thought the order wasn't ready yet , but turned out it was sitting there on the counter the whole time . The smell! Oh boy , I don't know how people that are eating inside take it . Fuji Hana is my go to restaurant for take-out. And it's a great lunch spot as well. I tend to avoid it on Saturday nights because, for some reason, it is usually filled with kids at that time. For lunch I usually order the lemon zested tuna salad with ginger dressing. The tuna salad has lemon zest and basil in it. Their ginger dressing is my favorite dressing. I also usually order the string beans. The sushi there is great, although I only order vegetarian roles so I cannot comment on the fish. My favorite roll is the garden roll which has sweet potato, asparagus, avocado, and carrots. The whole roll is tempura fried and topped with sweet sauce and wasabi sauce. For dinner my husband always gets the gomatori- chicken breaded, fried, sliced and topped with a little bit of brown sauce- and I usually order steamed chicken and broccoli with sauce on the side. Its pretty healthy however they never have brown rice which is a bit of a disappointment. When I order in, they often forget parts of your order so I suggest you check everything right away. Service is not the best, they only employ Asian waiters who don't necessarily speak the best English. But I've never had a serious service problem there either. Took my wife here yesterday to celebrate our anniversary. We hadn't been here in a few years, but had fond memories. Our waitress did not speak english well, nor did she know the menu. Sushi was great, but my wife ordered a medium-rare (we repeated this 3 times due to her per comprehension)boneless steak . She got a 'very' well-done steak back. I pointed it out to another waitress , who promptly told our waitress (who'd been in the kitchen). Our waitress came back and avoided eye-contact with us while she served others, the other waitress came back and told us that the first 'waitress' said she given the order as 'medium-rare' to the kitchen - and it was a kitchen mistake We left the steak, and when the waitress came to clean it, i mentioned to her again that this was inedible. She told me that ' i did not let HER know' !. I told her to rectify the situation anyway. She went to the front , and came back moments later to tell me that she would charge me half. OK. I am not greedy, i accepted. When i got the bill, she cut the price of 28 to 15 - not half. She added .50 cents for the spicy-mayo i had gotten with my sushi (yes overwritten- an afterthought), and she included a a 20% service fee on the the receipt - something I believe this resteraunt does NOT usually do. I paid it - and didn't say a word. But it sucked! when i got home ireviewd the had-writen service order - and noticed she wrote -'med -welldone' near the seak - whatever that means. ugh! read more

The food is a little salty, but over all pretty good. The service is horrible though. On a Saturday night it is packed with kids and the staff get aggravated. In my personal experience, my group waited about 30 minutes to be seated because they were still making our table when we got there. We waiting over 45 minutes to order and the wait for the food wasn't so long. The noise level was really loud and the waiters kept scolding tables for being to loud when singing happy birthday. On my way out I saw a group of 4-5 girl who looked about 13 years old and it seemed as if they were being ripped off and they were fighting to get their money back. After about 8 minutes of arguing the cashier gave them less then they should have gotten and the cashier was yelling in a language I didnt understand and slamming menus onto the tables read more

Love coming here. The prices are pretty fair. I always order the same thing. A chicken burger salad. And every time it is as good as I remember it to be. There salad dressing, not sure their ingredients, but wow. If I ever order it to go I always make sure to get the green and orange dressing and put both on the salad--A pretty good mix...try it. STAY AWAY !! My husband and I decided to try this restaurant with another couple from out of the country. My husband found plastic in his salad after almost choking on it and I found a hair on my chicken !!!! The staff was extremely rude and made us feel like it was our fault. The manager (or so we think) approached us only after additional requests following the hair discovery ... she did not introduce herself, did not apologize for the inconvenience and horrible experience (common etiquette), and was abrupt and nasty !! They canceled our entrée charges and handed us the bill. No one came to collect our payment so we oursleves went to the register to pay for the portion of the meal consumed. At the register with the bill and payment in hand they placed the owner on the phone to discuss the matter ... she proceeded to assult myself and my company saying that we were in fact rude and why would I assume and expect an apology from the staff/manager. DISGUSTING !!! I said I will not stand for this, and walked out !! Additionally, the owner mentioned their remarkable reputation, which after reading only a few reviews I learned was untrue and in reality countless people experienced poor service from rude, unprofessional, and disgusting staff.
