Fuji is a great spot in Monroe to grab some hibachi and/or sushi! We prefer to dine in with a group so we get the awesome hibachi experience. The staff is super friendly & fun! The food is equally delicious and cooked to perfection. Make a reservation for your next event at Fuji, you will leave with smiles on your face and memories for years to come.

The food was very good every time I come here I feel very full by the end of it and when I get the hibachi I most often have left overs

Response to restaurant management: - if my scallop was new, why did it taste like lemon? - I have not had a scallop before that was served with lemon so how would I know to ask for it without? ----- My review is based on my experience having gone there for sushi and not hibachi. I am also a sushi fan and prefer sashimi over non-raw rolls. I arrived after work around 5:30 and was immediately seated. Most booths on the Sushi side were already full. I glanced over at the hibachi side but was walking too quickly to really get a good idea of how many people were there. I could tell there was probably a lot of people by the hibachi because there was a lot of noise. Or it could have been the person that was working the hibachi table. He was very loud - yelling and banging very loudly on things and it was difficult to hear my husband talk even though we were sitting on the Sushi side. Thankfully "the show" does end when their food was done. All part of going to a restaurant that has a hibachi section...so keep that in mind if you are looking for a quiet meal. We spent some time exploring the menu because it was our first time here. We asked a couple questions of the waitress and really didn't have a good experience with that. I do enjoy soup before my Sushi and I pointed to a picture of the soup that look like it was tomato-based and not clear broth. I asked the waitress if it was the seafood soup as I knew it wasn't the others on the menu. She said that it's just a picture and they don't offer that soup. Well bummer. I decided to get the avocado salad along with several pieces of sashimi. The avocado salad was served first and it had what seemed like a whole avocado on it. The avocado was sliced very thin and someone definitely has skills while slicing and arranging that avocado. I took a bite it was immediately disappointed with the salad. The lettuce was moist but it was hard to tell if it was a very light dressing or just sprayed down lightly with some water. On the positive side the avocado was perfectly ripe. This is sashimi arrived and was disappointed to see that the raw scallop was sliced and lemon wedges were placed between each layer. Raw scallops have such a light flavor that lemon is just overpowering. Unfortunately I also cannot eat lemon due to horrible acid reflux. I asked to get a new scallop as I cannot eat lemon. My plate was removed and came back a few minutes later. I ate a slice of the scallop and it appears that somebody just remove the lemon slices but did not give me a new scallop. I suspect it was a scallop that was previously frozen until we ordered it and lemon was used to disguise that. The tuna and the salmon were very good. Tasted fresh and a good cut of fish. Now for the presentation of the food. Initially it looks like typical Japanese preparation, which is elaborate and beautiful. However I did have some concerns over sanitation. Plates had a little Chinese paper umbrella on it, the kind that you sometimes see in mixed drinks. My husbands look like it had been used previously. Both of our plates also had some sort of little glass cube on it that glowed different colors. Given the issue with influenza going around during the winter time, I was a bit concerned over those glass cubes and how they potential may or may not have been cleaned previously between uses. Needless to say, I did not eat any vegetable that came in contact with the cube or umbrella. They could be a one use item and then disposed but that would be very wasteful. I don't need my meal glowing and flashing different colors.

This is my go-to place whenever I'm in Monroe. Best sushi I've ever had and doesn't compare to other sushi restaurants. PLENTY of options, and if you don't like sushi, their hibachi is just as great. Service is very friendly and attentive, and I love the atmosphere of this place. It looks small on the outside when you walk in it's got plenty of space

Fuji far exceeded my expectations! The ambiance, lighting and staff are excellent. My husband and I are very happy to have discovered this new gem to frequent in the future. The servers are attentive, gracious, kind and professional. The hibachi chefs know how to amp up the vibe and put on a delightful show! They also have vegan and vegetarian options done expertly, lacking neither flavor nor presentation. I am greatful for their ability to accommodate this demographic, and with such care, flair. Style and attention to detail! Most assuredly, we will return! Fantastic!

I would not get the Gyoza again. But the sushi was outstanding. Great flavors. Really surprised Monroe landed a place like this. This sushi is better then some sushi in Ann Arbor. And this sushi is better than kiku. Amazing.

I came on my own, ordered $25 worth of sushi, and was reading a book. When I came in they were not crowded and there were plenty of open tables (early dinner time), but by the time I left it picked up. I ordered a single piece of uni appetizer, which was $10, and figured it would be a really high quality large piece. I was pretty disappointed at 3 small uni pieces laid across rice. I was hoping for one huge piece of uni for that price. But, the quality was very good! I also had a salmon and avocado roll and spicy tuna, and both of those were very good. The standout was the spicy tuna, made with chili oil I'm sure. Spicy but not unbearable spicy. I think they had real wasabi and actually my favorite thing I ate today was their pickled ginger! The ginger pieces are crisp with a fresh crunch that I haven't gotten from typical, limp sushi ginger. I asked for low sodium soy sauce when my sushi came out and waited at least 5 minutes before giving up and using the regular soy sauce... A couple minutes later the waitress finally brought the low sodium version, said nothing about it being lost or any other possible explanation for taking so long, said something like "Oh" when she saw I had used the regular one already. But, I also think she didn't speak English. When I was more than halfway done eating but obviously still eating, she brought over the bill. As I was still eating, she came by, picked it up, and opened it to check if my card was in it, I kid you not, 3 separate times, over the course of maybe 10 minutes. I had to ask for more water when it was already empty. One time she got more water, the other time she literally walked away as I was talking to her...but again, I don't think she was purposely ignoring me as much as she seemed afraid of me? She probably thought I was laughing at her but really I just laugh awkwardly as a defense mechanism in awkward situations...oh well! Would I recommend this place for the delicious food? Sure! Would I go out of my way to come here again after whatever that service experience was? Personally, no, because I didn't feel like anyone was even trying to provide good service. If my waitress was confused I wish she would have sent someone else over to translate or for help. But maybe it's better if you speak Japanese/ignore any awkward service faux pas...the fact that it was full of Japanese people speaking Japanese is a great sign!

I got the classic tonkotsu ramen and it was really good! The broth was flavorful and complex, the pork was tender, and the egg perfectly jammy. Apparently they make their noodles fresh everyday. Having spent time exploring Japan and eating plenty of sushi there, this is probably the closest I've come in Michigan to recreating that experience. The focus is on traditional and straightforward: quality fish, careful preparation, and letting the ingredients speak for themselves rather than covering everything in sauces and toppings. The sushi and sashimi have been consistently excellent across my visits, and I especially appreciate that the menu goes well beyond the typical American sushi restaurant. There are plenty of traditional Japanese dishes and chef's-choice options, so it's a place where I'm always tempted to try something different. The atmosphere adds to the experience too. It has this intimate, neighborhood Japanese restaurant vibe that reminds me so much of stumbling upon a sushi spot in Kyoto. If you love traditional Japanese food and care more about quality and authenticity than elaborate specialty rolls, Sharaku is absolutely worth the trip. One of the best Japanese dining experiences I've found in Michigan, and a place I'll continue coming back to.

AMBIANCE - the place seemed very cozy, with booths, a handful of tables and seating at the sushi bar. This place was JUMPING on a Tuesday. I'm actually glad I made reservations. Bunch of old Asian dudes working behind the sushi counter - place seemed legit. SERVICE - our server was very attentive and was helpful with recommendations. He was very patient as we had MANY questions about the menu, and what we should be getting. MENU - this place had a pretty extensive menu. The first page of the menu had their daily specials which seemed to be a pretty deep selection by itself. They had many of your standard Japanese fare, though their appetizer list seemed to be deeper than most. They also had a fair number of sushi combos, however, according to our server, those are all chef's choice, and said they tended to be more basic type rolls/fish. One thing that was unfortunate was that the sushi rolls did not have a description of what was included in them, so we had to get clarification on a few of the rolls we were interested in. FOOD - we decided to get a smattering of items. we started with the deep fried oysters, chicken karage, and some along with some fried scallops they had on special. The oysters were good, while the karage and scallops were just "ok." Good, but nothing to write home about. We also ordered a couple of rolls - we did the spider rolls (soft shell crab), a tempura shrimp roll, dragon roll, and two eel nigiri. The eel nigiri were excellent. The rolls while good.... left me wanting a bit. From the other reviews that I read, this place is good on quality, and less on the quality, and this was on full display with the rolls. Besides the nigiri, the rolls seemed light, especially our spider roll which was only 4 pieces (I dont think I've ever seen that before). Even the dragon roll seemed small. We probably could have just gotten more nigiri in lieu of dragon roll. OVERALL - while the food was good, for the price you pay, it does not seem worth it. Maybe if we had gotten more nigiri or chirashi, we could have appreciated it more, but this place was too far and too expensive for what it was. Maybe the lunch specials make it worth coming here, but this would not be anywhere on my list of places to go for sushi in the metro Detroit area. Celebrity Rating - Salt Bae
