Had an absolute BLAST going here! Girlfriend and I got all dressed up and went out for date night. I had no idea there was a hibachi restaurant so close to our home. We were sat with a chill group of people and had tons of laughs with the chef. There was so much food, meat was made to perfection and we even got cute bottles of sake which made me think of some of the Japanese video games I play that feature sake. This was a really fun experience I hope to do again soon. Was too stuffed for dessert but got some dessert at home that can't be bought or sold but gifted by God Himself. Oh yea! ;o) read more

The last time I came here was years ago, but I remember having a good experience. This time, I think it was even better. It was a busy night, but the staff was quick with ordering and drinks. Sushi came out within 10 mins. Sushi was fresh and absolutely delicious, and my drink was tasty and STRONG. I had the volcano roll & spicy crunchy tuna. We had an amazing time at Fuji Steakhouse, and a huge part of that was thanks to our server, Chloe. She was incredibly attentive, kind, and downright hilarious. From making sure our table always had refills to cracking jokes that had the whole family laughing, she brought such a fun and welcoming energy to the night. Chloe also recommended some incredible drinks from the bar every one of them was a hit! Shoutout to the bartender (wish we caught your name, looked like a young man with dark hair !) because those cocktails were seriously on point. Our hibachi chef, Dan, was just as impressive his cooking skills were top-notch and his sense of humor had everyone at the table engaged and entertained. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I got my filet rare and he seriously nailed it , most places do not! The atmosphere was a little loud, but that's to be expected at a lively hibachi spot like this. Overall, we had a blast. We came here awhile ago in the middle of the week - 2 adults and 2 kids under 6yrs old. We asked to be seated in a booth so it would be easier to keep the kids seated somewhat still and behaved while they ate their food and we enjoyed ours. Regular dining, not hibachi. Even though there were plenty of empty booths the waiter stated they were not available. Instead we were seated at a small wobbly table bumping elbows with fellow diners. We spent about 10 minutes at the table trying to read over the menu as the waiter kept squeezing in between our table and the one next to us realizing this is too intimate a space for 4 people to be seated in. Everytime he checked on a table to the left and the table to the right he bumped our table or bumped against one of our kids. Trying to talk to my wife to see what she wants to get was drowned out by the conversation another table was having. Just before we ordered, we observed people coming in and being seated at the booths we were told were not available. Out of curiosity I asked if we needed a reservation to sit in a booth and I was told no. We left. Based on our previous visits before this disappointing incident the food was OK. This place is always busy so I assumed it was good. Now I think there's just isn't anywhere else in the immediate area to go out to eat. The service was excellent, the chef was very nice. After eating there I got horrible a msg headache though. I haven't gotten one in a long time because I don't eat crappy food but it was very recognizable memory. Normally, a hibachi place cooks the food in front of you adding, garlic, salt, pepper, butter/oil, saki, soy sauce and sometimes a brown/plum sauce. Hibachi is a very minimally altered meal. This place adds a couple bottles of colored sweet unrecognizable sauce. They charge as much as other hibachi places but don't use the same quality products. They used spaghetti pasta instead of Japanese noodles, it was strange. We had to pay extra for fried noodles too. The sauce was also very sweet and the yum yum sauce tasted chipotle. The steak was perfect but the quality is still not there. Also no shrimp with the meals. We got a tempura veggie appetizer and it was dripping with oil, completely saturated to the touch. The entire place has a stale oil smell. I encourage you to try for yourself. It just wasn't up to the standard we expect from a $40 a person lunch place. They also added 18% gratuity to our party of 4. I always tip 20%. read more

My family and I came here for hibachi to celebrate a birthday last month and it was a decent meal overall. Our chef was fun and he did a great job entertaining our young nephew, which was very great to see and much appreciated. The atmosphere is nice overall here as well and it made for a cozy dinner. However, the food was kind of bland overall, which is surprising since our chef put numerous sauces into the fried rice, vegetables, and meats. The food was cooked well and had good texture, but the flavor just didn't pop and that was a shame since we were hoping for a delicious meal. I used to come here a lot more but their prices have risen way above all the other sushi places around. They're double what they used to be. The sushi is generally pretty good but some days it tastes better than others. The cocktails are consistently pretty good. The service is never great. The only benefit to this place is it's in the mall so if you have some shopping to do it's easy to stop and eat and have a drink. read more

So even after reading the reviews of this fancy place, my friend & I decided to try it since I'm in town for a day or so. The two ladies up front were chill and nice. It wasn't until we got our server and food. The sever had a pleasant attitude but rarely checked in on us & made it seem like "we couldn't pay for what we were ordering" - quite frankly we were overwhelmed with the offerings and didn't know what to pick that's why it took us so long. There were issues with where we could sit at the hibachi table, how many people in our party had to order hibachi, and a long wait for a hibachi chef to get your section to make the food. I feel like this place is doing too much with not enough staff, leaving patrons hungry and waiting for their food. I ordered the duck, spicy kani salad, shrimp tempura roll, Alaskan roll, and gyoza. The spicy kani salad had little to no sauce, so it was just imitation crab meat. The shrimp tempura roll was small and cut into thin slices that could barley be picked up with chop sticks. The duck was cold, would've tasted better if hot, being that Duck is naturally greasy, and no one likes the taste of cold grease. The Alaskan roll was falling apart before I touched it. Lastly the gyoza was the only thing good out of everything I ordered. The kids liked the hibachi so that's why they get a third star. Overrated!!! I came here yesterday for the hibachi experience and it was good but to me the food needed more flavor. I ordered the steak and shrimp which was good but it needed more flavor. I love hibachi but with this experience the cook did not put in ginger or garlic and I have been to hibachi places in which this is added to the food. I asked him to add garlic and he said he did not have any. So I think they do not add the other ingredients at this hibachi. The service was great they were very friendly and attentive. My niece loved it but she adds the yum yum sauce but I like my food to be fully flavored when it arrives. I do not like to add other sauces or condiments unless it is fries. Everyone else looked really happy and finished their food so maybe I am not their intended audience. The place is very fun and they cater to large groups. I would come back and eat from the regular menu. We ordered the crab Rangoon and the bang bang shrimp both of these items were delicious and I recommend. read more

Beautiful restaurant and very clean and neat, definitely can say that as walked through the door. Service I can tell they engaged and willing to please, making sure to ask to take plates from the table, refills and if wanted to order more, plus no problems when I asked menu questions. Now here is where real reviewing starts on the food itself. The miso soup was alright and piping hot, so glad I did not get some lukewarm soup. The tuna roses were best part of my meal, I had tuna dumplings and similar items elsewhere but here I had best beautifully shaped like actual roses and the filling was amazing, definitely worth it and actually kinda filling on it owe. Now on opposite spectrum is the seafood yaki soba, man I was let down on it, drowned in grease and lacked a lot flavor and depth compared to the roses. The shrimp and bits scollops could benefit greatly from a hard sear. Now veggies were bit mushy except the shiitake mushrooms were great. A good stir sauce, less grease and a hard sear and it would been better the roses. Also I found the prices very reasonable for a restaurant in the mall. read more

I came here on a Tuesday night. It was pretty packed, so we assumed the food had to at least be decent and we went in to get a table. Before getting a table, we verified that they were social distancing and we were seated in a booth. We order two drinks, me ordering from the stronger" drink menu. The drink was actually strong and did have me feeling nice for a while, so I appreciate getting my monies worth. I ordered crab cakes which came out absolutely delicious. I also ordered steak/chicken hibachi with fried rice. Not only was the food amazing but the service was fine as well. We had a young man as our waiter who wasn't slow or laggy. The only gripe was, the drinks did take a little long to get to us. All in all, this was a wonderful experience and I would definitely come here again. Not really into the theatrics of hibachi, if you've seen one onion volcano you've seen 'em all. Therefore I get a table. I've been to Fuji a number of times and have always enjoyed the food and service. Even evenings when there's no room to sit waiting for a table I have no complaints. I don't do sushi or sashimi so I can't comment on those but the hibachi is excellent. Nice portions and cooked to order. read more

Excited to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The dinner portion of our celebration was a bust. Chef and waiter told us of a grill issue which delayed our food preparation. When the chef started he seemed concerned about the grill. He started a very lackluster hibachi cook and another chef came over to say the grill was not working properly. We asked if we were being moved and we got no response. The chef started cooking and we all shrugged our shoulders. Food was cooked and served as courses. There was no integration of food. First rice and there was such a long time before some got some protein, then more time before others got protein, eventually ending with vegetables. The disjointed meal did not allow for any combination of items unless you let food get cold. In addition, the food was very bland with little flavor. The waiter was upbeat and attentive. It was an uncrowded Tuesday night and the group should have been moved. The poor decision made the experience disappointing and certainly not worth it. This was at least my 15th visit since it opened many years ago. The experience has deteriorated over the years and this will most likely be my last. So sad! read more

Great service! We ordered the fried calamari, the Duck entree and beef teriyaki for dinner today and they were both delicious! For being in the Middletown area, it is hard to come by some good crispy skinned duck and that was exactly what I had tonight! The skin was crispy, the sauce was favorsome and the fried rice with the spicy mayo was tasty as usual. The beef teriyaki was average compared to the duck dish described above. However, the salad that came with the entrees were drenched in amazing sauce! Definitely come try the duck dish here! Hands down best duck in the area! read more

It's the McDonalds of the hibachi world. Way too much oil, over-cooked meat, poor service... who could ask for more. I ordered a $30 Filet & Shrimp combo. I received 5 tiny shrimp, along with 4 oz of overcooked steak that was drenched in teriyaki sauce. My daughters opted for white rice over fried rice, which was delivered 10 minutes after everyone at the table had finished their meals. I reminded the chef but he wanted nothing to do with helping us out. He simply blamed the kitchen. It's the only hibachi restaurant that I've ever been to that doesn't give you a couple shrimp with the meal, they make you Jose between salad and soup, and lo mein is extra. Not every hibachi fixes you all of these, but it's typically a couple. Everything at this place is extra. It really is awful, and they should be ashamed of themselves. I'm happy to drop some cash on dinner, as long as I'm receiving something in return, that's at minimum, middle of the road..... Save your money and go elsewhere. Mr Sushi down the road is much better and if you really want to treat yourself, head to Kiku in Paramus NJ. read more

Recently popped into this place after a fun shopping trip. I've been here several times before but this is my first review. I love coming here because they have more "creative" vegetarian rolls then a lot of other sushi places. I love their sweet potato roll and their rolls with cream cheese! They also have a delicious "special tofu" roll. I've never tried the hibachi, but it always sounds like a lot of fun. Def stop by this place if you get a chance!
