Found this restaurant here at Yelp and ordered what the other Yelpers suggested for the sushi rolls - shaggy dog (love it!) and yummy yummy (it's okay). We also ordered tonkutsu ramen (it was too salty for my taste, they replaced it and added more soup to it and tasted less saltier); and yellow tail and scallop sashimi (both were very fresh and good!). We will be back to try the other sushi rolls but won't order anymore ramen! read more

Sushi used to be good until their chef left, now it is very inconsistent. Everytime I order the same order it comes out different, the quality definitely went down. Service is great though. Too bad, because in my opinion this place was best sushi in Katy untill a few months ago. read more

I am always looking for a good sushi joint in Katy, the sushi was good. It is not as good as my favorite place in Richmond, but it is the best of the rest. They have a good lunch special, 2 rolls with soup/salad for under $10. I was disappointed with with spring rolls, I thought they were flavorless. The service was attentive and friendly. At lunch time I was in/out in 15 minutes. Not a lot of seating so at night maybe difficult to get into; might want to try carry-out. Give the place a try. read more

We ordered to go and came in and told them my husband's first name. They handed me the order and it said the same first name. The bag was tied and the receipt said Ryan. We got home and set the food on the counter. My kids opened it up and started eating. I came back in the room and found out that it was a wrong order and wrong RYAN on it. My kids already opened the food. I called them and they said because the order price was about the same they were not going to give me my food or a refund unless I brought them back half eaten food from my kids. I explained to him that I go there all the time and he did not seem to care. Never once did they apologize for the mix up. They were not friendly nor did they seek a resolution. We said the food was opened and touched. They said we had to return it so that they could throw it away in order to get OUR order. Outrageous. Unfortunately they lost a good customer as we will never be returning. I live in Cross Creek Ranch and know a lot of people that come to this place. We ordered from Fuji sushi tonight. They are our go-to for delivery sushi and tonight reinforced why. Last time we ordered, they forgot our salad. By the time we ordered tonight, I forgot about the forgotten salad but they didn't. When I completed my order the employee taking my order reminded me of the forgotten salad and let me know our account had a credit that would be applied tonight. When our order arrived, we had received the credit and received a salad with a note apologizing for the miss last time. The sushi is consistently good but the service tonight surpassed expectations. So let's be clear that I'm a sushi snob ~ and I am (gasp, the horror) willing to fight pre-, post-, AND rush hour traffic to partake of good sushi. I can easily be convinced to make a journey to Izakaya Wa, Nippon, Oishii, Osaka, Kubo's, Uchi, or Soma. Pretty much any time. Living in Katy, I've been struggling with what professes to be a rockin' sushi scene but...isn't. I'd heard high praise about FUJI SUSHI, so tonight we went to give it a try. No points off for not being greeted or seated. No points off for a waitress on her 2nd night, or the fact that she forgot to put in the sole non-sushi order at our table. No points off for the anime soundtrack (although, now that I'm thinking about it...no, we'll just review the food not the music, lol). What DID take points off? - Greasy gyoza; there is good fried and bad fried. While the tempura plates coming out looked appetizing, the gyoza was cool, greasy, fried in WAY too low a temperature of oil. Add to that the dipping sauce which while GREAT flavor was also had a greasy mouthfeel. - Warm tuna; if you're going to serve cold rolls, your fish needs to be cold ~ not room temperature and not, certainly, the temperature of the tuna. Salmon? Ice cold. Tuna? Oddly warm and dense ~ not sashimi or even sushi quality. - As a side note, although I didn't pull a star for it - Of the specialty rolls, we tried one with tuna/salmon on top with tobiko and lobster "salad" inside. The lobster was over cooked and oddly seasoned and, also, WARM. Not room temperature but WARM (and it wasn't because the lobster was freshly cooked folks). Overall, there were some good moments and nice flavors. But the quality is EXACTLY what you pay for. Will we go back? Yes, probably if we're in that area. There's a better selection of rolls than most sushi places in Katy. But...we live in Houston, peeps ~~ home to a deeply committed and vibrant sushi scene. 20 minutes away there are places that are nirvana in comparison. Try them before you claim this as an end-all-be-all sushi joint. read more

Thrilled another sushi bar has opened in our neighborhood. The restaurant is small and cozy. Service was great and most importantly, the sushi was scrumptious! We're not into rolls so I can't comment of that regard, but the selections looked fun on the menu and as they passed us by. There are a few sushi bars in Katy where the sushi/sashimi slices are extra thick, which isn't appealing when it comes to raw fish. This place serves up proper fresh portions that will keep you coming back for more... The staff was attentive and checked in with us often to ensure our expectations were meet. Really good sushi rolls, fresh and not too much sauces and rice. You can taste the fish, the rice, the sauces. Best Sushi around Fulshear and Katy. I came from California and my sushi taste was to high, almost all the sushi places around Houston were to sweet or spicy, covering the fish and rice. Excellent service. Clean. Here in Katy for a few days and stumbled across this little gem by our hotel. What a friendly and wonderful staff. They made a few suggestions but my wife and I were set on the poke bowls. Welcome to the neighborhood Fuji Sushi! Its about time we had a Sushi bar within walking distance. Just what I want in a neighborhood sushi bar. Small but certainly not crowded. The kind of place where they don't get bent out of shape if Y order from the sushi chef. We were greeted quickly and offered a table or seats at the bar. I had made a reservation for the bar (nice to know they take reservations) about an hour earlier and thats where we sat. Chi, Lilly and Sammy were very attentive and made us feel right at home. The service was great. The sushi was really good. I asked Chi to make us what he would like to make and we weren't disappointed. The fish was very fresh and clean tasting. The rolls were tasty and innovative; we especially liked the Sushi Taco's, very cool idea. The spicy tuna hand rolls were super but I wouldn't bother with the panko sprinkles. Tempura was great, again maybe the shrimp was a bit heavy on the panko. Seaweed salad was perfect; just a little spicy and not too sweet. I bet the Friend Roll is pretty good... First time here and a huge hit for my family. We have struggled to find good sushi out here and finally happy to find a place we love and so close. We could walk here. I called because I can't eat gluten to see if they had gluten free soy sauce and they said it was ordered but hadn't arrived, so they let me bring my own. When we got there, Chi was so helpful to find something I could eat. We came up with some yummy choices. So fresh tasting. Loved the Diet Naruto and Vegas Roll. For my kids we ordered chicken teriyaki with fried rice and they destroyed it! Not a bite left. It was my hubbies bday and they brought out an awesome half pineapple with ice cream! Another big hit! Tired this new place based on reviews though it's well out of our way. Small place with not much seating and the sushi bar is small with limited seating as well. Sushi was good and fresh and serving sizes were good. Each of us or ordered our own rolls and shared. Many of their options have tempura pieces, which I never like so it was actually hard finding something that didn't. What kept this from being four stars was the awful service. We sat for at least 10 minutes with no one serving us. I had to ask for water twice and lemons four times and then two different people finally brought them to me simultaneously. Check took long to process. I'm hoping it was just newness. It's worth a try if you're nearby but there are other places as good, if not better, closer to us so I'm not sure we'd go back. read more
