Fujihana lost my business. I was with a group of 14 at hibachi to celebrate a birthday. The steak I ordered rare was burnt to beyond chewing. That in itself is not so bad. I sent it back and ordered nothing else. The waiter put it on the bill anyway. I asked him to take it off and he said that he had thrown the meal away and now there was no proof that I had sent it back. He blatantly refused to take it off. He was very rude and when I tried to talk to the hostess. He actually tried to physically block my path. I was forced to raise my voice to him which eventually got the hostesses attention. I then had to explain everything again to get the item taken off. A special day was turned into an embarrassing memory thanks to the greedy staff at Fujihana. read more

After a four year hiatus, I finally made my return to Fujihana. As I entered the restaurant I could tell my visit was going to be extremely positive. As an experienced yelper, I have developed a keen sense of knowing when I will or will not enjoy my visit. As my friends and I entered, a large party of about 13 people were leaving the restaurant. Their topics of discussion were very strange, and for a brief second, I felt uncomfortable. As I was questioning my visit, I realized something important. Even if these people were extremely strange, they appeared to have fun eating at Fujihana. At that moment, I decided that I was going to have fun at Fujihana as well. As we were seated at our table the smell of grilling meats and rice wafted through the air. A sense of calmness passed over me, and I knew that Fujihana was going to give me a delectable meal. Our hibachi chef was brilliant. As he began, there was an unfortunate moment when he dropped one of his spatulas, but after he got in his groove, he was flawless. Watching him cook was like seeing poetry in motion. His precise cuts into a beautifully done steak, his zeal when tossing vegetables to his customers, and most of all, his wonderful smile. This chef not only produced an amazing meal, he taught me a life lesson. If you do everything to the best of your ability and have a positive attitude, that is all you can ask of yourself. I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this visit, and encourage everyone to experience the essence that is Fujihana. Definitely not an upscale, classy hibachi restaurant. 'Chefs' barely touch their knives and do nothing more than your standard onion volcano, bang their spatulas on the grill (very obnoxious and loud), and stir-fry your food. They also seem to purposefully attempt to drown you via squirt bottles of very cheap and watered down saki. The service is horrible and it took us 2 hours to complete our meal from the time we walked in the door, with reservations. All things considered, this restaurant is better suited for the rowdy, drink saki until you almost vomit, young and unrefined crowd. read more

I went with my daughter and friend to celebrate a special day. My daughter had been wanting to go, because she had always wanted to eat where they cook the food in front of you. Like a dinner and a show. We came in just in time to watch the show on the other side of the table. We were seated with another group of people that were celebrating a birthday and a new baby on the way. The chef at the other Table was very engaging with his group. He was funny and did lots of tricks or stunts. We were really excited for our "show" to begin. Our chef was a disappointment in comparison. It was like he did the bare minimum. At first we thought that it might be the chef, maybe he did not have the personality or the skills that the other chef had. But we stayed around after our dinner and he began cooking for another group of people. With this group of people he was doing the tricks and was carrying on like the first chef did. Even my daughter said, what did we do to get gipped? For three of us to eat it was $75.00 which would have been great if the food were great or even if the show was better. I felt as though the food was too greasy and lacked flavor and freshness. Combined with the disappointing show, I left feeling like I don't care to return. :( read more

We stopped in. Waited 15 minutes to check in with the host. He says it will be one hour. We decide to wait. And to be fair it's crowded. It appears that only the people that are bitching are getting seated. Parties of our number that came in after us complain and go in front of us. The seating is done by the host scratching names on a piece of tablet paper in no order or logical sequence. No apology and a general feeling of uncaring prevailed. After two hours and thirty minutes we were seated. Food was good-show was less than normal. We won't be back. read more

If you enjoy being pelted with vegetables without your permission, this is the expensive restaurant for you. The hibachi chef thought he was amusing lobbing vegetables from the hot grill at our entire party. This meal cost us $100, and there were slippery vegetables all over the floor around us as we left. Well I've been to a lot of japanese places before and have tried this one once before. Didn't get the warm and fuzzy feeling from it the first time but I thought I would give it another try. Should have saved my $89 for me and my two kids. We had three sodas and three entrees. I guess it should have been a clue when the waitress ask us if we wanted white rice or fried rice because I received the bill there was an additional charge for fried rice. Speaking of fried rice I asked for no eggs in my rice so the chef made mine and my kids rice with no eggs and no other seasoning but I still had to pay full price. the food was also heavily seasoned with garlic but that didn't cover up the fish taste that everything had. The worst part is no one at the table order any type of fish that would cause cross contamination so to me that means my steak and vegetables were back in the kitchen being improperly handled. Service was horrible. Was told the wait was 15min but 40 min later we finally got seated. The waiter took the tables order and never returned. After 55min of the table becoming furious waiting for the chef to come out we asked for a manager. We explained the situation to her and no apology or anything. Had our anniversary dinner here. Had a blackout due to nasty storm passing by. Server did not bother to check up on us throughout the meal. Had to constantly raise my had in the dark to get attention. Not once did she come over to see if we were alright. Server for 2 tables next to us took care of his customers the whole time. Was ready to checkout but manager said our meal was FREE since they do not know what we ordered and to just leave a tip for our server. Left a tip higher than 20% for our server when she did not deserve it. As for the sushi rolls we order, black dragon roll and regular sushi, it was very good. Shumai and gyoza was very tasty. My son liked the chicken teriyaki, though he could not see what he was eating. The calamari was very good. I would have left 4 stars for the food but the service sucked. read more

I have been to quite a few of these types of places and the food is always about the same taste and quality. And this is no better or worse than any other. The real reason you go is the entertainment value of your hibachi master or what ever they call him. Ours was great....good knife work and very entertaining. I will say while the menu looks like a value compared to other teppanyaki places. BUT....they charge extra for the fried rice or noodles. Also the better places use shrimp to toss and catch in your mouth the lesser use veggies. This is a veggie place. Once you ad the fried rice or noodles the price is about the same as all the others. They do offer pork which I have not seen at other places. Food was good, service was good and it was entertaining. So if you do not put the bar real high...it is a good night out. They also have a full bar which for Asian places in the York to Gettysburg area is a rare thing. read more

This place is good. I have been there once for the hibachi... the cook/chef was very entertaining and the food was delicious. The price was reasonable for York, PA and for a Hibachi grill. If you want average sushi at a pretty good price, then Fujihanna is where you want to go. We were not completely disappointed with the quality of the sushi here-- overall, the experience was just fine. The appetizers-- tempura shrimp and vegetables was good. The dirty strip mall feel may have clouded a little of my judgement. If you left feeling that it could have been better-- next time, take a trip to the other side of town to Wild Ginger. Pricing is about the same, better ambiance, fresher fish, and much better food. read more

We are regulars there for the sushi special (5-7PM). The sushi is always good and fresh. The service is also good. We sit in the dining room so there is no issue with noise, etc. that accompanies any Japanese steak house grill area. I highly recommend it for sushi. I have always like Fujihana until tonight's experience! Craving sushi and wanting a nice dinner out with the family, we headed over to Fujihana, When our food came, our waitress dropped her tray and spilled my husband's red wine all over his meal, his pants, and my white jeans! While she apologized, no attempt was made to make things right. She didn't offer to get him a new meal since his was drenched in wine now or get him a new glass of wine since she spilled his first glass. I had to ask her for another glass, which she did not charge us for. His pants were soaked in wine and my good white pants had purple spots all over them. Our clothes are ruined and we had to go home and change before making any more stops for the evening. The manager didn't come over and apologize or offer my husband a complimentary dinner. I realize accidents happen but how a business responds to them makes all the difference. read more

Hardly "authentic" Japanese and when given feedback, I'm not even sure the waitress understood enough English to get what I was saying.

I would of given the restaurant 4 stars, but the service I received on my first visit was horrible. The food was great, but our server constantly avoided our table while checking up on the tables around us. I had to call her over for a refill and the check, and it didn't seem busy. And as I said before the other tables were getting plenty of attention. However, if you're looking for great food this is the place to go, perhaps next time I'll sit at the hibachi and receive a better service experience. read more

Thishibachi restaurant is the best pan Asain restaurant in Tom. They have amazing sushi, Asain food, and hibachi! Great service, great employees whom all speak and understand English with ease. Very clean, Fujihana also has a huge full bar, and spacious tables and seating at hibachi grills. The best service I've had ever. Go to this restaurant. read more

This restaurant is exceptional. The Hibachi team is incredible. It is good for a romantic night out with your significant other or for a group of people wanting to have a good time. I use to give this place 5 stars when Joe and Adin were the Sushi Chefs but after Joe left the owner started cutting back on the size of the cuts of fish and stopped allowing the sushi chefs to make a nice complementary fish dish appetizer for me instead of the normal one which I could not eat because I am diabetic. I dropped 80 to 100 dollars for a lunch with my wife almost weekly including a minimum 20% tip for the waitress and never less then a ten dollar tip for the sushi bar tip jar. During my last visit the Sushi slices were half the size of what they had been and gone were the complementary fresh orange dessert they use to give out. If I were a 15 dollar customer I would understand but I always spent plenty and received the treatment one would expect at the level. Adin was very apologetic but my boycott is directed at the owner. If I found Joe and Adin working somewhere else I would be on the way there as I write this. In the mean time I should mention that Iris is the sweetest waitress in the world and I wish her all the best in her future they are lucky to have her. The owner needs to pick his battles better as he lost my business for good. If the owner wasn't so cheap I believe Joe would still be making sushi for him. Joe is an artist and a real sushi chef and I am sure he was being paid more like burger flipper. What a shame! read more

Fujihana has the best sushi I've ever had. Everything is top quality, fresh, well prepared and elegantly served. I've been disappointed by every sushi restaurant I've gone to since I started eating at Fujihana. I have not had the food on the hibachi side, so I can't speak to the quality there, but I've heard its quite good. Even better, this is the only sushi restaurant in town that also serves alcohol, so you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine with dinner. I recommend the kani salad as an appetizer (if you are ok with imitation crabmeat), and ask for them to make it spicy. I'd also recommend the tuna dumpling as an appetizer if you'd prefer something raw. My favorite rolls are the coconut shrimp roll (and I usually hate coconut shrimp) and the American dream roll, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. There is a large selection of raw sushi, including some items you don't often see on menus in York (although there are more and more sushi restaurants in town all the time). The ambiance is very nice and the atmosphere is relaxed. Its perfect for a casual dinner or a special outing. You may want to make reservations on a Friday or Saturday night. True, they are located right next to Excitement Video in a strip mall that's in serious need of refurbishing, but you'll always be able to tell your friends exactly where the restaurant is located. There is no need to worry about the patrons from the video store, they rush inside with their heads down before anyone recognizes them! read more

There food is okay--standard Hibachi fare.Sushi is just okay too. If you are interested in good sushi, try Masa which is less than a mile away. Our family has been to Fujihana a few times. Their food service staff need to learn to keep their hands to themselves. On two separate occasions now, I've had a someone touch my daughter inappropriately. Once it was the female waitress in the dining area. At first she was being friendly and that was fine. When we were about to leave she rubbed her belly and and ran her hands over my daughter's breasts. My daughter was four at the time. We have taught her not to let people touch her in private places, including her breasts. I forgot about that incident until today. i picked up an order "to go" and the man that brought out the food started to kid with my daughter pretending to take her stuffed animal. She is five now. He proceeded to pitch her behind. I was furious. Said nothing to him. Really bad on my part! It was done so quickly and we were walking out.. My daughter even said to me as we were walking to the car, "mommy you told me never to let anyone touch me there and I didn't like that he did that." Inappropriate behavior by their staff. You've been warned so if happens to you, you'll be prepared with something to say. read more
