I was able to visit this establishment today for lunch. The space is nice and inviting as well as the staff. It seemed to be very clean as well. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen (with the pork) and a Crazy Roll (shrimp tempura with spicy salmon). Both were good. The ramen was a little on the salty side and the broth to substance (noodles, meat, etc.) ratio was a little off for me. Not enough substance for my taste. The egg was a little over done as well. The noodles were cooked well and tasty, but nothing very special about them. The sushi was pretty standard. I feel this place has a lot of potential. I'll say it's a good place to go for ramen or sushi without having to leave the Atascocita area- to get the quick fix until your next downtown excursion. Despite my average experience, I'd come here again and try something different. The firefighters across the way ordered the Chinese dishes which looked pretty good. For me, the food today was 3 stars, but because the wait staff was nice, the ambience was inviting, and the restaurant was clean, I bumped the review to 4 stars. read more

I just tried out Fujiya next to Javaman and it's really good! We did takeout and got Chicken teriyaki (it comes with soup and steamed rice), beef lo-mein, sushi, and the fried dough. They weren't very busy but then again it was around 2pm. Also the portions were a good size for the cost. Ate the sushi way to fast to remember to get a photo of it but here are the others. Keep the sushi simple. Rating based on sushi alone. Had nigiri, simple rolls and special rolls. Really didn't care for either special roll (Spicy Girl and Godzilla), but the simple rolls (Crunch and Philly with raw salmon) and nigiri were good, not great, but more enjoyable than the specials. Quiet lunch with a dark ambiance. Had the lunch special of chicken teriyaki in a bento box. Food was good with the service also good. Companions had shrimp tempura bento boxes. The food was a little slow in coming out and you can see that they are trying to cut back with cheaper vegetables on the tempura and smaller sushi rolls than others but the prices were also cheaper than comparable Japanese restaurants in the area.
