I absolutely love this restaurant. I was craving sushi and ramen last night for dinner. I ordered miso soup, the New York roll, and the tonkotsu ramen. The miso soup came with a lot of seaweed and tofu. The broth was delicious. Next came the sushi. I had never ordered the New York roll, so I decided to give it a go. It was a salmon skin sushi roll. I enjoyed all of the flavors and especially the crunch of the salmon skin. Finally, came a large bowl of ramen. The broth was so tasty. I think my favorite part was the ramen itself. My daughter loves making instant ramen at home, but I'm not a fan. I like the taste and texture of authentic ramen, which is what you will find at Fujiya. It was so very good.

There are 2 sushi restaurants right across the street from another in this location, but this one was open for lunch and the other one isn't. So I visited here on a Monday for lunch and although there were only 2 other customers, it was sort of slow. They do play upbeat music in the background but the vibe was fairly quiet/dismal during this time. Maybe it would be better in the evening with more customers. After briefly looking at the menu, it was easy to see their prices are reasonable, especially for appetizers. I ordered the yellowtail jalapeno and tonkotsu black ramen. First out was the app, which were 6 thinly sliced yellowtail each with a slice of jalapeno and sriracha over green onions in a ponzu sauce. They were delicious and not to mention a pretty good deal. Supposed to come with kimchi, but thats fine, I didn't complain. Then came the ramen, also fairly quickly to the table and it was a nicely sized bowl. There were 3 pork slices in the bowl and a half egg, with all the other accompaniments (fish cake, green onions, seaweed, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, etc.) . The broth was thick and filling and tasted pretty good. For the price, I am guessing this is probably the best ramen in NE Houston by far. And not a bad price either. Looking forward to my next visit on another weekday lunch since they're close enough to my work I can make it here.

Got a craving for some sushi while I was in the area for work from out of state and glad I tried it. Ordered a couple rolls and a hot sake. Was surprised that there weren't to many customers on a Saturday night. The sushi rolls were very good and the service was friendly. Food definitely tasted fresh which is an instant plus when getting any seafood. I did find it strange that sitting at the bar you still have to order from a server. The places I frequent in Southern California when I am home let you order directly from the sushi chef when sitting at the bar.overall I give them a 4 and would come back if I was back in the area.

Decided to give this restaurant a try after reading reviews. It was absolutely delicious! Started out with edamame and seaweed salad. Next we ordered the Shaddy Dog sushi roll. YUM For the main entree I ordered Tonkotsu Black Ramen. My first time trying ramen. It was SOOO very tasty!! Service was excellent and people were very friendly. I can't wait to go back!

Started eating sushi less a year ago. Love everything cooked, so raw sushi is not my style. Decided to check this spot out. Lots on the menu to choose from, but I stick to what I know. California and Shaggy Dog. Saki drink was new to me, was hot and a different type of drink for the first time with a unusual taste, but ok! Food was delicious as you can see. Not to mention got to this place one hour before closing and waiter wanted to rush me to order before closing at 9pm. I took my time and then ordered. Then so rude, moping near tables with bleach while still eating with a few customers still inside. Well damn, so much in a hurry to leave but not considering people eating! Didn't feel like tipping but I did anyways, but never again I'll be back. Low class operation of business. Food was good, but service deserves no star at all.

Absolutely amazing annndd affordable! I live close so they also offer free delivery and contact less delivery. The food arrive quickly, was still warm, and most importantly was INCREDIBLE. I really liked the curry sauce. Customer service is great also! I've dined in before and the space is nice. Sushi boat is also really cool!

Haven't tried all the items on the menu however the ramen here is superb compared to all others in the houston area. And we've been to a lot trying to find something g close to japan and this is it. Might be a bold statement coming from a brown man but I have my Japanese wife straight from the mother land to back that up lol

They were rated 4.5 stars thought it would be good . Didn't expect to be served a cold 20$ plate of "hibachi" that didn't even look like hibachi more like teriyaki chicken, and flat drinks . On the other hand the shaggy dog was great. Everything else was meh we won't be back. read more

Excellent!!! A hidden gem in the back of Pinehurst :) the restaurant itself looks gorgeous on the inside. Love the high ceilings and light fixtures and the ambiance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I came here with my dad for lunch. I got the orange chicken and a side of sushi. The portions are huge! If I would've known, I wouldn't have ordered the sushi, but the food itself was excellent. I wasn't crazy about the soup, but my dad enjoyed it. The orange chicken, however, was excellent! I was able to visit this establishment today for lunch. The space is nice and inviting as well as the staff. It seemed to be very clean as well. I had the Tonkotsu Ramen (with the pork) and a Crazy Roll (shrimp tempura with spicy salmon). Both were good. The ramen was a little on the salty side and the broth to substance (noodles, meat, etc.) ratio was a little off for me. Not enough substance for my taste. The egg was a little over done as well. The noodles were cooked well and tasty, but nothing very special about them. The sushi was pretty standard. I feel this place has a lot of potential. I'll say it's a good place to go for ramen or sushi without having to leave the Atascocita area- to get the quick fix until your next downtown excursion. Despite my average experience, I'd come here again and try something different. The firefighters across the way ordered the Chinese dishes which looked pretty good. For me, the food today was 3 stars, but because the wait staff was nice, the ambience was inviting, and the restaurant was clean, I bumped the review to 4 stars. read more

I just tried out Fujiya next to Javaman and it's really good! We did takeout and got Chicken teriyaki (it comes with soup and steamed rice), beef lo-mein, sushi, and the fried dough. They weren't very busy but then again it was around 2pm. Also the portions were a good size for the cost. Ate the sushi way to fast to remember to get a photo of it but here are the others. Also found their menu on Yelp and told them they should get a Facebook. read more

Keep the sushi simple. Rating based on sushi alone. Had nigiri, simple rolls and special rolls. Really didn't care for either special roll (Spicy Girl and Godzilla), but the simple rolls (Crunch and Philly with raw salmon) and nigiri were good, not great, but more enjoyable than the specials. The Szechuan dishes look interesting, so I'll report back once I've tried some of those. read more

Dropped in for our first visit, it's the same family that owns Tai Li, that made me super happy. We ordered Gyoza, Edamame, chicken fried rice for the little, and I had a Philadelphia Roll & the Cherry Blossom roll. I enjoyed both. My husband had the Pork Sichuan and LOVED it, raved about it. He also had the Sichuan Cold Noodles, which he loved very much too. I cannot wait to go back and try more entrees and sushi! You won't be disappointed! read more

Quiet lunch with a dark ambiance. Had the lunch special of chicken teriyaki in a bento box. Food was good with the service also good. Companions had shrimp tempura bento boxes. The food was a little slow in coming out and you can see that they are trying to cut back with cheaper vegetables on the tempura and smaller sushi rolls than others but the prices were also cheaper than comparable Japanese restaurants in the area. Cannot say I would rave about the place but will go back for a meal. read more

The fish was really fresh and the presentation here is better than any other local sushi spot. The chef made sure to let us know that he would customize any roll in case we didn't want rice or whatever, so I would recommend this location for anyone who is following a particular diet and wants to have sushi while sticking to it. We are creatures of habit and always visit the same places but not tonight! We visited Fuyiya Ramen & Noodles and was so glad we did! The food was super delicious and the staff very friendly! Jeff the bartender is so sweet and super creative with drinks. He invented an drink that is some sort of mango citrus tropical blend and all I can say is that if I had had more than one it would have been dangerous! read more

The hibachi itself was also very good, and the menu offers a wide variety of meats to choose from depending on what you're in the mood for. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because of the service. Our server made us feel a bit rushed during the visit, which took away slightly from the overall experience.
