If I didn't know any better, I'd swear I walked into Fuku Ramen and got teleported straight back to Japan. The customer service was that authentic -- warm, efficient, and somehow reading my mind before I even opened my mouth. I half expected someone to hand me a JR Rail Pass with my check. The gyoza? Perfect. Like, "I should probably order 12 more just to be safe" perfect. The ramen was easily some of the best I've had in the United States -- rich broth, great noodles, and flavors that actually taste like someone's grandma in Tokyo whispered secrets into the pot. Now, full honesty: the egg was a little overcooked. But considering the American need for speed (and the fact that we treat restaurant meals like pit stops at Daytona), I get it. Cooking eggs to order in that environment is basically Olympic-level timing. And besides, the broth was so spot-on that it made up for everything. If you're craving legit ramen with service that makes you nostalgic for Japan -- even if you've never been -- Fuku Ramen is the move.

I meet friends here around once a month and I always leave wishing it was more! Service is always top notch and the food is great! If you're in town for a weekend, stop by and give it a try!

Notes: 1) been here twice 2) in a busy shopping center 3) may or may not have parking Pros: 1) service is okay 2) lots of seating 3) food is okay 4) ambiance is good Cons: 1) could be way better overall Rating: 2.5/5 This location is very highly rated but I was overall not impressed by it. The food could use a lot of work. The service was okay. The ambiance was good but there were a lot of loud customers when I went. It could just be a temporary thing and I went at a bad time. The food was okay in the fact that it was edible but there wasn't a lot of flavor and the execution could use work. The takoyaki had a lot of breading which had no taste. The tonkotsu ramen was bland in the broth, the noodles were hard, the chashu had a weird aftertaste to it, the marinated egg didn't have flavor. The spicy fried chicken ramen was actually the opposite and had a lot of good flavors. The spice fixed a lot of the taste and the fried chicken was great and flavorful so you get both ends of the spectrum here. The fried rice had the umami but did not have the taste to back it up. I probably went on an off day x2. The service was alright. We got the things that we ordered but we didn't get a lot of people coming to give us more water or ask if we needed anything. Overall, not a great experience in terms of trying out a new place. I may have to give it another go but definitely not my first place to go get ramen. Food breakdown: Takoyaki: 3/5 - needed more flavor and had too much breading, octopus was okay Tonkotsu ramen: 3/5 - bland overall, noodles were hard, chashu had a weird aftertaste, bamboo shoots were well cooked, marinated egg was bland Spicy fried chicken ramen: 4.5/5 - spice and noodles were great here, fried chicken was good, egg was not that good Fried rice: 3/5 - can taste the umami but it makes it greasy and not too flavorful

Another return to one of my favorite places in Tuscaloosa. As usual, the service was good, the place was clean, and the food was awesome! I got my usual bowl, tonkotsu, but did try a new appetizer. The steamed buns were amazing! The dough had a great texture and was slightly sweet, and it paired wonderfully with the juicy pork mixture on the inside. Be careful biting into these things though, as they come out hot! Next time I'm here I will definitely be ordering them again!

I love eating at Fuku Ramen. My server, Lily, was so incredibly sweet and helpful. The food is always good, and the takoyaki is the best that I have found in Tuscaloosa; it's the most authentic tasting. I always come in for lunch, and get seated very quickly. I will be coming back.

The reviews for this place made me have high expectations for the food but I have to say I was not impressed. Once we entered the restaurant the server or hostess who was across the room yelled " Two?!?!" and then pointed us to a table??? That was the tone of the service the entire time. Rushed! That was enough to make me want to get up and leave but I wanted to see if the ramen as good as my favorite place in West Palm Beach, it was not. The best thing about the meal were the dumplings. The black garlic was raved about in most of the reviews but mine fell flat for some reason. Maybe needed some salt?? The pork belly that I added was okay but not the best I ever had either! In a word this meal was mediocre. The ambiance was nothing special either but it seemed clean?!?! Not sure if I would try this place again or not. To the server's credit, she was the only one there taking care of 14 tables.

Eh it was just a quick get it to go order. We had went to buy a monitor and tower at best buy. I looked up bubble teas and it was super close. I didnt know it was a full restaurant . Oops I did my research on the fly. $22 dollars for 2 bubble teas and 1 order of chicken katsu . It was like a chicken sandwich on a bun. Nothing impressive honestly! They were not friendly really. Seemed super busy though with college kids galore! I will not go again if I'm in the area.

Ordered Uber eats for this place and it wasn't bad. The to go container was cool because it keeps the toppings separate from the broth. I got the chicken Katsu with an extra egg. I do feel like this place would be better in the restaurant as opposed to takeout. It ended up being almost $30 for one bowl of soup with the delivery fee and tip I would try it in person though and add some extra sauce to the broth.

Stopped by for an early dinner and it was fantastic. Seated right away and good service. I had the spicy miso ramen, it's one of the best spicy miso I've had and melt in your mouth chashu. The broth was rich and spicy. BF had the chicken katsu ramen and enjoyed it. 5 stars!!

This is a super cute place to get dinner with friends! I loved the ambience and decor. The gyudon bowl, which had beef, egg, and rice, was a slightly small portion and not as saucy as I hoped but still delicious. They have bubble tea here, but I would stay away from the red bean flavor. Our server was kind and friendly but a bit hard to understand. I definitely want to come back to try their ramen!

Came here for lunch after work. Enjoyed the tan tan ramen. I love me some spicy ramen. Beautiful bowl, well-seasoned pork, and al dente ramen. Very hearty, and full-bodied bowl of noodles. A bit pricey, but the quality is pretty good. Overall, nice clean space, great service, and good food. Will be back in the future. Recommend for all ramen lovers.

One of the best ramen places I have been to in Alabama. Definitely will return. Get that pork bun and I bet any ramen dish won't be bad. I felt so welcomed as soon as we walked in. The lady seating us was super kind and helped us with getting a table that would be good for our special needs child to stay in his wheel chair. All throughout the meal we had great on point service by multiple members of the service staff. The food - I had the pork bun and spicy miso ramen. I have only had a "bun" like this at a ramen spot in Houston that I love and this one here was just as good. I would come back just for this! The ramen bowl was just what I expected. Great blend of flavors and the just right spice. Maybe the only thing negative was the atmosphere. It was kind of hard during the day to mask over the strip mall feel of the location. Minor thing for me though. Looking forward to going back!

My family and I love Fuku Ramen. We enjoy just about everything on the menu. All these pictures are from different visits. The atmosphere is great for family and friends. We haven't ever had a bad experience, and the ramen always hits the spot. If you're a spicy kind of person, I HIGHLY recommend the Tan Tan ramen. The Tori Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) is great, so is the Takoyaki. Definitely worth the visit!

When we walked in on yesterday evening, we were immediately greeted and told that we could seat ourselves and we would be helped shortly. A woman came by our table with menus and told us about what we could order from the bar. I was completely sold when she told me she had an alcoholic drink that included Boba, which was called Boba on the Beach. It was really good. We looked over the menu which had a nice variety of Asian fusion type dishes. We placed our order and it didn't take too long for us to get our food. Everything was flavorful. The service was good so I'm sure we'll be back to this restaurant soon.

From first look this place looks pretty cool from the outside to the inside. The pictures and painted walls were esthetically pleasing. I could see many people taking photos all around that place. Even the bathroom had a cool Panda picture on it. We were also informed by staff that there is a lot more to be done there. Of course we ordered tons of food but I will only be speaking on what I ate there. Let's start with the Korean Corndogs. I got one regular and the other one covered in blue Takis. The regular one was good, hot, and crunchy. They don't really look like traditional Korean Corndogs so visually they don't look good at all I would definitely recommend them do it the traditional way if possible. However the way they stack it is great. How most K-Dogs are done you have the cheese at the top and the hotdog at the bottom. Here they do cheese meat cheese meat like a kabob and to me that's how all K-dogs should be. I definitely preferred the original one over the Taki one. The OG gets an 8/10 and the Taki one a 7/10. The scores would be higher for both but I knocked a point for the presentation and the Taki one didn't taste like Taki at all and in my opinion I would have used hot cheetos instead. I also tried the Korean Fried Chicken nuggets and those were really good. The flavor was there and so was the crunch and that juicy chicken. Highly recommend these (they also have regular KFC drumstix/legs). 8.5/10 Next up the Bulgogi Bao. The buns were super soft like pillows which was a great start. The meat itself was good but could have been just a bit more tender. When you eat bulgogi beef it should nearly melt in your mouth. With that said whatever the sauce that was used was a bit salty but not inedible. I also would have preferred a cold slaw in there besides lettuce to help cut the salt with the sauce. That sweetness of the slaw would have made a huge difference. 6.8/10 Everything else that was ordered according to my friends was well received and we all left with empty plates and only 1 Togo box. Final thoughts: I will definitely come back here to eat again no question. I would love to see takoyaki added to the menu as well as some street food dessert items I could name a few. But this place was great. The staff was awesome and took time out to speak with us and gave great back story about the restaurant as well as some great recommendations. The drink menu is awesome to with lots to choose from, from milk tea all the way to alcohol. Service alone was 10/10 great staff. Decor was 9.5/10. If you have not been here yet please go check this place out. I'm already ready to go back!

The moment I walked into Seoul Restaurant, I knew I was in for something special. Grandma was relaxing in her recliner watching TV in the dining room, the husband was taking care of the front of the house, the wife was hard at work in the kitchen, and the entire place had the kind of warmth and charm you simply can't manufacture. The service? Let's just say he wasn't there to become my new best friend. He was polite, efficient, and all business. When I asked if I could add cheese to my Army Stew, he immediately answered, "No cheese." From the kitchen, his wife overheard the conversation, called him back, and a minute later he returned with two slices of American cheese anyway. She knew exactly what I was after. It was one of those little moments that made the place feel even more authentic. The homemade banchan was outstanding. Every dish tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and like recipes that have been made the same way for years. We ordered a pajeon, but asked if they could make it with only scallions instead of seafood. Without hesitation, they did--and it ended up being my favorite style of pajeon. Crispy around the edges, tender in the center, and absolutely packed with scallions. Then came the star of the meal: Budae Jjigae (Army Stew). I'd honestly never seen it on a Korean restaurant menu before, so ordering it was an easy decision. The pot was massive, filled with Spam, sausage, beef, ramen, mushrooms, vegetables, tofu, and bubbling spicy broth. It was comforting, hearty, and somehow even better after everything had simmered together. There was so much food that we had leftovers for days, and somehow it tasted even better the next day. What I appreciated most was that nothing about Seoul Restaurant felt trendy or manufactured. The menu focused on comforting Korean classics, the portions were incredibly generous, the prices were more than fair, and every bite felt like it came from a family recipe rather than a corporate kitchen. If you're looking for polished, over-the-top hospitality, this probably isn't your place. But if you want to feel like you've wandered into someone's home, where Grandma is watching TV, the husband is running the dining room, the wife is cooking from the heart, and every dish tastes like it's been perfected over decades... Seoul Restaurant is exactly where you want to be. We'll absolutely be making this a stop every time we're back in Alabama.
