Hidden gem in Roswell for sure ! When we got there on a Saturday night at 5pm, the parking lot and restaurant was empty but it soon filled up fast and I can see why! I can the out of control sushi and it was amazing. The smokiness and flavor of the fish was just right. The rest of the table had some grilled salmon and ramen and all of which received raving reviews. The dark look in the restaurant makes for a lovely spot for any sort of celebration or date night. We ate here on Mother's Day. Food was good but not fabulous. I will say the best things we had were the gyoza (dumplings) which were the best dumplings we have ever had, and the sweet potato tempura roll. My son got a cooked salmon teriyaki he loved. His only complaint was the broccoli was overcooked and had too much teriyaki sauce on it. The salmon on top of our rolls was very mushy. Made them unappetizing to eat. We took most of them home to our daughter but I don't think she liked them either. read more

To be honest? The outside is not much (besides the cute decorations on the tree) it looks like you'd get mediocre food here. But the moment you walk in, everything changes. The low lighting was wonderful for my sensitive eyes. The smell was clean, but not too strong. They were open late, which was wonderful for me and my friends, for we were craving ramen at around 9:30. After we were seated, the service was quick (but that could be due to the late hours.) The first server seemed a bit quiet, but like a wonderful person. Our second server was no doubt one of the sweetest people I have ever met. We had a wonderful conversation about how the small restaurants are always wonderful. She was radiating positive but gentle vibes, so I felt my nerves slip away. By her, I was informed that the owner was usually in (most likely he wasn't there then because of the hour), which only proved that this food had and will always be cooked with love. And after my friends mentioned I was writing a review, she was eager to hear it. At the time it was just notes I took, but she was so pleased and that entire night I received so much praise. I had ordered the strawberry ramune, in which I was most shocked at how it tasted like true strawberry. But the lychee...it was on a whole other level. I had never had anything lychee flavored, but I felt as if I was soaring in the sky and diving in the deepest ocean. Then for starters we had edamame and pork gyoza. The edamame was well salted, and I had found usually edamame is either too salted, or not salted enough, but this edamame stayed in the sweet middle and tasted like it was straight from the Earth itself. The gyoza is most wonderfully cooked, and it feels as if I was floating upon the clouds, looking down on the world. The flavors were subtle, but so delicious. I got the spicy noodles, (but I have forgotten the name), The noodles are creamy, and I can only describe this feeling close akin to an enchanted forest. The pork was meaty, and the fat is easy to seperate if you are not for the fatty part. But then...the broth. In an instant I am shocked, frozen in pure awe at the flavors that danced in my tongue, and that most wonderful burn of spice, no doubt, they knew how to use spices perfectly. Overall, the ramen felt like what one would call a home, warm and comforting, as the tastes embrace you with open arms. With the atmosphere and taste combined (as well as the wonderful Japanese music that played), I felt transported to my own world, one without the stress of life and worries of future. Just great food, and a smile on your face. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful. No doubt deserves praise, and it almost makes me sad how unnoticed this hidden gem is. The noodles would soak in the flavora of spice so perfectly, I found myself addicted. For a desert, we ordered strawberry and mango mochis. The wonderful server brought us multiple, because she knew what our stomachs -satisfied, but not full- craved. The Strawberry mochi was wonderful, and tastes refreshingly authentic. And it felt as if I was just a slight cloud which reflected a rainbow. And now, the mango mochi. I'm not a mango person, but this tasted like no less than a sunset, with the beauty, the feeling, the overall bliss. I leave with the most wonderful taste in my mouth, and an undeniable want for more. I must thank all of the workers who made this place so special, for this is the first time I've had proper ramen, and this was no doubt the best provider for that satisfying first bite. read more

I'm so glad we found this place! We moved from Smyrna to Marietta and the options for good Asian are more limited. The sushi and ramen here were on point. The salmon belly nigiri was to die for! My husband and I shared the ramen and they kindly put it in two bowls for us. It wasn't as spicy as a normal spicy ramen but still delicious with fantastic tonkotsu broth. The inside was a lot more upscale than I was expecting. They had a large sushi bar too. The service was impeccable. Very nice people with very good food! We will be back! read more

Fukulala sushi iazakaya was busy and buzzing by local patrons (?) on a Friday evening when we were driving by and got bitten by a sudden sushi craving. I'll be honest my first impression of the izakaya wasn't great as the service started out very very VERY slow although we were right on the bar! The bar tender noticed us probably after 20 minutes, as they seemed overwhelmed and backed up with prior orderers and right off the bat we were advised not to order too many hot plates. So we didn't. Having said all that ... our lychee martinis and all the cold/ shareable seafood dishes were superlative in aesthetics and taste! Kanpachi and truffle salmon needs special mention and last but not the least, the mochi ice cream was a perfect sweet finale. read more

Wow. My family and I have searched far and wide to find a quality, local sushi restaurant. Tonight, on a whim we stopped by Fukulala and have officially found our new favorite spot. We tried the Bluefin Chutoro, salmon belly, mackerel nigiri (and some others) the "haru roll" and the "i'm so hot" roll. We were blown away. The portions are amazing, the quality of the fish is incredible, nothing tasted "fishy" but instead was very fresh. The miso soup was also wonderful. The ambiance is great and feels more upscale, the hospitality and service is wonderful. The price is incredible and 1000% worth it for the quality and experience. First I can confirm this place also had a second location in Swanee. I had yet to try them at the initial location but I regret not getting over there now. The Blue ocean roll was probably one of if not the best sushi roll I've ever had. I came for lunch, 3 weeks after opening. We had the chicken teriyaki bento, ocean roll, miso soup and salad. Everything tasted good, the sushi was outstanding and for that reason alone I'm leaving a 5 star even if premature. I'll update as needed as we plan to be back! read more

This place is quite good! We came here for an early dinner and it was not a busy time. Service was great and everything came out fast. It is situated off a busy road near the Home Depot. One of the chef's told us they recently open this year, so we were excited to try their food. That sushi was very good. I recommend the out of control roll and the James Bond roll! I have been here about five times. Almost every time, I've had a great experience. The service is always spectacular along with the delicious cocktails. Those never disappoint. The appetizers and sushi are also delicious most of the time. I order the same two rolls every time I go usually with a third roll on the table. They are blue ocean roll with scallops is outstanding. A couple of times, the same role that I have ordered has appeared differently. When it comes out looking very different, I always ask why it doesn't look the same. The response is usually something like "the chef chooses to garnish differently on different days" or " we are not sure why it looked different other times, it always looks like this" I have taken pictures of the same role each time and showed them and they don't seem to have a good answer for why the inside proportions and outside garnish look drastically different. I will continue to go to this place, as I find the food generally delicious. I love the options on the menu, I love the atmosphere for a date night, I love the service. I just worry about their inconsistency, especially when ordering the exact same sushi roll time after time and it tasting completely different. read more

Having lived in two big "foodie" cities I have struggled finding a close sushi spot but thankfully Fukulala has opened and has saved my sushi soul. The decor of this restaurant is a vibe in itself. Dimly lit , dark walls , modern lighting and open kitchen , A+ for aesthetics. Let's talk nigiri aka:sushi ... from the Blue Fin Tuna , to the 3 different kinds of salmon my tastebuds were jumping for joy. It's melt in your mouth , perfect bite & fresh as can be. The Spider-Man Roll , you guessed it , a soft shell crab was perfectly fried and wrapped with fresh avocado. The pork belly and spicy tuna roll were also delicious! They have an array of Sake which was fantastic. I highly recommended checking out the omakase menu as it highlights the specialities for the day. Everyone from the sushi chef to our Waitress was delightful, kind and friendly. Their prices are very reasonable. I can't wait to go back, this will be a regular spot for me ! Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you - the ambiance inside is tasteful and sophisticated, from the carefully decorated entryway to the seating, curtains, and decor. Food is incredible. They have mocktail Manhattan and they have Buillett on the menu but it was impossible to get Manhattan cocktail. 2) probably they have no idea that ideally they are supposed to give food to the couple together, not 20 minutes apart, which happened to us twice, 3) after she gave us a check, she was standing staring at me, so I had to give my credit card hoping to read the bill after but she didn't return it, so I had no idea what was inside that check. The supervisor said that he was going to comp our meal, But lied to us and did not actually comp our meal. We didn't get 1/2 of the food we ordered. Can't say enough great things about this restaurant. Everything is made fresh to order, including all the sauces, garnishes, sides. They have specialty dishes unlike anywhere else and they can customize orders to your taste. The service was fantastic and provided great recommendations. We started with the Bang Bang Shrimp and they were huge and delicious. Then we had three rolls: Tuna Fantasy, I'm So Hot and Blue Ocean. All three were delicious, but the Blue Ocean was a standout. The chef also treated us to a tasting of the Salmon Belly and we'll be getting that next time for sure. They lightly spray the fish with truffle oil and sear it lightly to create an amazing taste and texture. Next time we're also going to try the James Bond roll.
