This restaurant has a well decorated interior. We were greeted as we entered and seated right away. The server was very nice and checked on us often. They have lunch specials during the week. We ordered the two sushi roll special with the Alaskan and Eel Avocado rolls, and also the Steak and Shrimp Hibachi. Both lunch specials came with your choice of soup or salad. Decided to try a "new to me" sushi place for dinner with my husband this evening. The food was great, the service was great, the ambiance was great. Mika Sushi really deserves the 5/5 stars. For an appetizer my husband and I both tried the Miso Soup: the soup had a good taste and came to the table nice and hot. For entrees my husband ordered the Classic Tuna Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll. I personally didn't try either of these but his rating was 4 stars out of 5. I had the Signature Happy Roll. It was soooo good. I love a roll with mango in it, and this roll hit the spot! I give the Happy roll a 5/5. We both shared the Classic Spicy Bay Scallop Roll as well. This one was tough to rate because I didn't like the texture. My husband was not a big fan of the taste or texture either. He gave the rating of 3/5 for this roll. Overall, we will most likely be back to try a few other hand rolls in the future. They had a steady flow of takeout orders and only a few dine in but it's nice inside. Dark and modern decor We got the salmon belly hand roll, fancy uni hand roll, sashimi platter, spicy snow crab & spicy scallop rolls This was the perfect amount for 2 people The sashimi came with quite a few varying cuts and we were pleasantly surprised to see sea bream! I enjoyed the yellow tail belly & escolar & my husband favored the salmon & smoky sea bream The spicy scallop was good, the snow crab has crunch or something in it - both are spicier than expected! The salmon hand roll was good, smooth salmon. However the uni was super briny, like I didn't like it at all and we've had uni many times in the US and in Japan! I'm not sure what was going on with this one but at $22, I'd never order this again. The sashimi pieces are big and presentation was nice though This is a great option for east Cobb but if I'm in the mood to travel, I'd still choose chirori or shoya It's in a shopping center so plenty of parking available. We had driven by several times and gave it a go this evening. I would sum it as an average spot. The service was outstanding as were the appetizer. The edamame was hot with just the right amount of salt. The vegetable tempura had a light, crisp batter and the dipping sauce was a great accompaniment. This was the best casual sushi spot I've had in a while! I ordered 3 hand rolls (tuna, salmon avocado, & shrimp tempura) and was STUFFED. For $8 a roll, you definitely get your moneys worth, the hand rolls are huge and packed with fish. We also ordered a chicken fried rice and the portion for it was great for the price! The way we have been waiting months for this place to open! This likely will become a go to lunch spot for us, or a evening bites because of location and menu style. We ordered the classic catch sushi combo box, 2 miso soups, salmon crispy rice, and a spicy chicken katsu sandwich. The spicy tuna here is probably one of the best spicy tunas I've ever had, both my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised. The katsu sandwich had a soft bread, which with the combo of the crispy chicken was exactly what we needed, and crinkle fries on the side to finish off the perfect dish. The only thing we were both mutually disappointed with was the miso, it lacked the Miso flavor, so if I could change anything I would probably not order that next time. Conveniently situated across from the movies for a proper date night, Mika Sushi offers fresh tastes and comfortable decor to make dinner outstanding. Chirashi Don included unusual fishes like a whole tempura fried shrimp and ikura (salmon roe). We really enjoyed the spicy tuna gyoza (wow!) for an unusual appetizer and the otori nigiri special was a delight that melts in your mouth. While it was an okay lunch, I had a couple issues. First of all, starting with the menu, it's a pretty simple menu that is pretty much all sushi. Everywhere else I go with sushi has hot options. Other than a couple hot appetizers, there are no cooked dishes here. Beyond that, the rest of the menu is pretty simplistic as well. They only have one soup. They only have one salad so not a lot of options. In addition, a big sign out front advertises their sake bar, but they don't have any drinks here that are alcoholic. They have fountain drinks and then I asked about their tea selection. They only offered one single kind of tea. We ordered quite a bit of Nigri and sushi rolls and out of it two pieces in a Nigri and one sushi roll tasted fishy to me to the point that it kind of come up into your nose. That's not good. The rest of the fish as well was not firm and quite soft and all of that seemed indicate either not a great quality fish or not a very fresh fish. Also, we ordered some spicy rolls and the only thing that made each of them spicy was they put straight sriracha across the top and I like sriracha okay but to have it on multiple roles and that be the only sauce is very overpowering and not very creative. Lastly, while the roles did have a generous amount of fish and was rolled well, they lacked a lot of other vegetables in there with them. Most only had one veggie in there like cucumber. Avocado was an extremely small amount and wasn't proportional to the amount of fish that you get and while the fish should be the star, I feel a well-made sushi roll that tastes good needs to have a balance of everything. Lastly, while the prices are probably pretty appropriate for a good sushi roll, they are higher than several other sushi places and the area, but the sushi isn't better so I don't think the value is here. I did very much like the people in the servers and the space is beautiful so I wouldn't rule out coming back but I certainly don't have plans to read more

Went here since it's so close to the house and was pleasantly surprised! The ambiance was absolutely adorable and the service was SUPERB. I liked the sushi, wasn't like top tier but it was very satisfying and the rolls were stuffed with lots of goodness! Not like those places that put a little bit of the filling and mostly rice, so generous serving of sushi! Overall, I was impressed and will come back here. I'm not a fan of leaving overly critical reviews. But I'm compelled to comment here with the hope that ownership can fix some issues. I ate here for lunch on 22 October 2024. The restaurant had several problems with its computer system which is never a reason to take away stars IMO. However, there seemed to be no operational element at all. No host or hostess. I walked to the back to the bar unaccompanied. The cook brought me my menu, napkin and soy sauce. There was no server. The cook had to remind the manager to bring me water. The sushi rolls were ok. Not great, but this was the reduced price lunch special. Halfway through my meal the cook asked me if I wanted the soup or salad. I said soup. They bright me salad. The cook saw all of this and engaged jokingly with me about it, which I thought was nice. The cook was the only one I talked to until I paid. I keep referring to him as a cook because he wasn't dressed like a sushi chef, and TBH, the rolls were not tightly formed like in finer sushi restaurants. It was a pretty bizarre experience even with the computer issues. I probably won't be back. read more
