Pork Fried Rice Tonkotsu Ramen Veggie Gyoza

One of our favorite places to go to, largely thanks to the service provided by the lovely JJ who seems to be there every time we go. She is kind, sweet & attentive! The space is small but with plenty of room, it never gets too noisy. The pork fried rice is our favorite along with the spicy edamame! Always get two sapporos as well. Just a great local spot for dinner. You'll never be disappointed.

This is my first time here. So far the service was great by a wonderful beautiful young lady. She recommended and attended to each person with a smile.

An absolute hidden gem of Los Feliz! Went in super late at night craving some Tonkotsu with a friend and we split Combo 2. $20 gets you a full bowl of ramen, a massive bowl of fried rice, and a couple pieces of homemade gyoza with one of the most beautiful lacy bottoms. Everything was delicious and the Chashu was super fatty and well cooked. They offer free mochi if you tag them on Instagram, but we were truly excite for the $4.75 Yuzu Cheesecake, which absolutely blew us out of the water. Come for the incredible prices, stay for the sweetest cutest server this side of Hollywood, and fall in love with the cheesecake!!

I finally had a chance to try this popular Ramen spot in Hollywood. Fukurou Ramen has Anime on their TV, and the music being played is Japanese Pop. The décor of this spot is nice and relaxing, and the service was friendly and helpful. Tonkotsu Ramen broth has some good flavor but the chicken protein is not the most appetizing or tasty. It is cut into thin little bits and it's quite dry. There were lots of bites that I couldn't eat due to gristle. I should have gone with the Pork Chashu. The same was true with the Chicken Teriyaki and Rice. I did enjoy the Pork Gyoza. Next time, I will avoid the chicken and stick with the Pork.

Still the best. There is a public restroom. Go often and always. GOAT ramen spot in LA. Great people, too!

Hate to leave this review, but this was one of the worst tonkatsu ramen I've had in LA. I ordered the standard tonkatsu via Grubhub and when received, it was packaged very well. No leakage. Once I opened up the ingredients with the noodles, I realized the noodles were semi-cooked. It had the texture of instant ramen that was boiled for two minutes. Ignoring this, I continued to mix in the rest of the ingredients and upon my first bite, I was immediately disappointed. The broth did not taste like tonkatsu, the egg was like a normal boiled egg, and the other ingredients were subpar. I'd still be open to trying something else like the gyoza but it's a strong no when it comes to the ramen.

Sometimes late night random searches for places to eat works out perfectly. A group of us left Griffith Park after 9:30 pm and we couldn't decide where to eat dinner since it was late and many of our regular spots were closed. So I searched Yelp and saw Fukurou was open until 11:30, had high ratings and good reviews. We were also all cold from being up at the Conservatory, so hot ramen sounded perfect. We were welcomed cheerfully by the owners and seated immediately. We ordered some drinks and appetizers to start and it all came out quickly. The spicy garlic edamame is really spicy, but delicious. Spicy is in the name, I know, but most of the time it's only slightly spicy at places. Here they mean it. We also got the veggie gyoza, since we had 3 vegetarians/vegans with us, but it was as tasty as any pork gyoza I've ever had. For the main course we got a couple tonkatsu ramen combos and a couple vegetarian ramen combos. My daughter is vegan and they were able to make her ramen vegan using rice noodles. The fried rice as part of the combo was a great meal by itself, but we were looking forward to the ramen. The pork in the tonkatsu ramen was some of the best we've tasted. Thin tender slices with a good amount of fat packed with so much flavor. My son made his ramen spicy and tasted like a whole different dish even though it was the same as mine. The noodles were perfectly cooked and in good supply as I was able to have one last bite of noodles with my remaining soup. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise and made it on my list of places to eat when on that side of LA. We'll be back for sure.

Worst ramen ever, I ordered a small chicken teriyaki and a separate ramen this is what I received for $30

    Yakitori Chicken Skewers

The food here is great! Big portions at affordable prices. I love to dine at Fukurou Ramen especially after a long day or to treat myself. Sometimes they even have nice deals like free mochi ice cream. They had a new menu item last time I visited: Yakitori chicken skewers, that were soooo good! Nice service and calm vibes. You can also collect reward stamps every time you visit, and when 10 stamps are collected you get a free meal. So that's a nice incentive.

As we walked to our outdoor table, my husband and friend heard three workers talking crap about me and complaining that I shouldn't even be eating there because everything had shellfish. Let's be honest it's not that hard to accommodate, plus we're giving you our business so what's the problem? I ordered the ramen along with the fried rice, and both were excellent. The ramen was rich, flavorful, and easily one of the best bowls I've had in the LA area. The fried rice was also a standout and paired perfectly with the meal. Service was great from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving despite how busy it was. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. If you're in LA and in the mood for ramen, this is a spot you should absolutely check out.

The flavor and level of customization are still what keep customers coming back One of the biggest draws is how customizable the ramen is. You can choose your noodle firmness, oil richness, broth richness, and even remove ingredients like onions, ginger, and more to make the bowl exactly how you like it Another standout feature is the variety of side toppings and add-ons. The Overload combo has always been a favorite for meat lovers, with three different meats that are all cooked well and pair perfectly with the ramen. There are also plenty of other toppings and side items available, so you can build your bowl however you want They used to offer more lunch combo options, but now the menu seems to focus more on individual items and seasonal specials like baseline one running now with Dodgers. Some of the seasonal offerings can be hit or miss, but it's nice to see them trying new things. Drinks are also available if you want something to go along with your meal. And they definitely raised their price, which guess is expected since everyone is getting more expensive in LA Service is typically quick, and food comes out fast since the broth and noodles are already prepared, with only a few items needing to be cooked to order. Like many ramen spots, they also offer extra noodle refills if you're still hungry after finishing your first serving The ambiance is casual and comfortable, with light background music and simple Japanese-inspired decor. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, which gives you some flexibility depending on your preference If you're in Little Tokyo and looking for a ramen spot that lets you customize your bowl exactly the way you like it, Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata Ramen is definitely worth a visit!

Also got a yuzu beer to try and it was delicious, nice yuzu flavor with some tanginess. I had the shoyu with duck while my husband had the yama tonkotsu that came with fragrant black garlic oil. The tonkotsu is not one of those rich, milky, creamy ones and I personally like these lighter ones more. I also enjoyed the shoyu which had a pleasant depth of flavor, but it felt like it was relying too heavily on MSG for umami. Noodles came out chewy. Definitely not the best ramens I've had but are some of the better ones in LA. Our server was friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Service was quick. The restaurant decor feels straight out of Japan, an extra bit of fun. There's a $10 paid lot behind this block of buildings that's convenient for anything in this part of Little Tokyo.

There was not anyone at the restaurant at the time, but people did start trickling in as more time elapsed. We got our food relatively quickly as well. FOOD: I ordered the spicy pork tsukemen ($23.45), which is their dipping noodle. The noodles are thicker than standard ramen, but in a good way! It comes with thick chashu (thick, fatty pork) slices and soft boiled eggs. If you haven't had tsukemen before, you essentially dip your noodles into the broth and then eat it that way. The broth is extremely flavorful and there are also pieces of chashu in it as well. The only critique that I have regarding this is the broth was lukewarm which made the dish taste slightly off. I've tried this dish at another branch and the broth was also lukewarm there, so I'm not sure if this is a location issue or a standard amongst all branches. Also, this dish does not really have any vegetables in this, but I also don't know if traditional tsukemen has veggies included. SERVICE: Service was quick and everyone was nice and doing their job. Didn't seem like the staff was slacking or messing around while there weren't many customers. They were very attentive to us, refilling our water immediately once they saw it was getting low, and being very attentive towards if we had any other concerns or if we needed anything else. PARKING: There technically is street parking but since it's in Little Tokyo, it's going to be very difficult to find it. There's $4-6 valet parking available nearby the location. There are a lot of people walking around though so just be safe. INTERIOR: It's not too big of a place but it's also not too small as well. It looks very well kept and clean. BATHROOM: Two gender neutral bathroom stalls that are both very clean and accessible. No issues here with them. TLDR: Overall, I thought the place was pretty good to eat at! I would definitely come back for the tsukemen (as long as the broth is warmed up until it's hot). A very good dish combined with great music (they have some great Japanese music variety) is definitely a spot worth coming to with friends !! :))
