The restaurant was kind of small but it was clean. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! Seafood kalguksu 9/10: it was def filled with various seafoods. The flavor was super bold and a bit spicy but not intolerable. I love the texture of the noodles. Perfectly cooked. Bossam 9/10: also such an amazing dish! Perfect ratio of fat to meat. I do wish that for this large plate they gave us more cabbage. We ended up ordering more for $5 but I think it should be included given the amount of meat. Parking was valet and it's a small lot. I think we paid $5 for parking. I think there's also street parking but we wanted to play it safe and just do valet. Overall it's such nice place to eat with a group of friends. The portions are large and food taste better shared!!

I especially wanted to try their bossam but didn't think it was out of the ordinary. With that said, food was still very good. Was my first time here Friday brunch-ish. I had the fried chicken with two "fixins"…read more The fried chicken was delicious (just a delicate hint of 'hot' spice) and fried to juicy perfection. The coleslaw was tasty and crisp and the cornbread, soft and warm with a hint of spicy sweet flavor-- served with a whipped, slightly spicy-sweet flavored butter. The potato salad was ordinary. But 3 outta four exceptionally delicious ain't bad. I always feel I'm being particular but I always ask for one cup of Diet Coke with ice, one cup of water with ice, and one cup with just ice. My request was met with a smile. and our waitress monitored my classes for a quick refill when I was ready for it. Very friendly and professional service!

I had previously tried Fixins Soul Kitchen as part of a company luncheon and enjoyed it so much…read morethat I convinced my family to come with me because I wanted them to experience how great it was. Unfortunately, after our experience on the holiday evening, it may be a while before I give it another chance. First, I want to say that every staff member we encountered was genuinely pleasant. Our server was kind, apologetic, and clearly doing her best. The problem wasn't the attitude of the staff, it was that the restaurant was completely overwhelmed and simply not prepared for the holiday rush. Not ready at all. We were seated at 9:04 PM and didn't place our order until around 9:20 PM because it took that long just to get drink orders taken. Wanting to avoid any further delays, we ordered everything at once. Our meals arrived around 9:42 PM, which seemed reasonable, except my daughter's meal never came out. We informed our server and were repeatedly told it was "on the way." Fifteen minutes later, still nothing. We began sharing our food with our daughter so she could eat with us. We asked again and again, receiving apologies each time, but no meal. By 10:25 PM--more than an hour after ordering--my daughter's plate finally arrived. By then everyone else had already finished eating and were simply waiting while she rushed to eat alone. Thinking we were finally nearing the end, I requested our bill and ordered two slices of red velvet cake to go. Surely that wouldn't take long. Wrong again. While waiting, another large table from the East Coast asked to speak with a manager and described their own frustrating experience with delayed orders and lack of assistance. When the manager returned, I simply asked if we could please get our two slices of cake so we could leave. He apologized and went to retrieve them. It took 25 minutes to get 2 slices of cake and possibly longer if I had not stopped the manager. We finally walked out more than two hours after being seated, having spent most of that time waiting rather than enjoying our meal. To make matters worse, going a few minutes beyond the two-hour mark triggered another hour of parking charges, making an already expensive evening even more frustrating. I feel bad because I had built this place up so much to my family, and their first experience was disappointing. I know holiday crowds can be difficult, and I truly appreciate the staff members who remained courteous throughout the night, but management seriously underestimated the demand and the customer experience suffered because of it. I hope Fixins can address these issues because I'd like to remember the restaurant for its food and hospitality and not for spending two hours mostly waiting to be served. I had to take pics of my daughter with her head down on the table waiting on her food. Happy to share them privately.

Some happy worker mixed with some that had some sour faces. I stayed because I was hungry and I wanted to try some Oxtails. It's a little tight in the place we were at a table near the restrooms and I usually don't like tables near those places. I did order the Oxtails and my date had smothered Chicken. Food was okay. They do give you small cornbread muffin but we got the cold ones and we told we would get more and they came as we were leaving. 1. Oxtails were good the smaller bones but that big one I feel someone had to see all of that fat on one side of it. It's was like a pocket of just fat. My sides were okay Greens, Mac and Cheese (a little salty) and the fried okra. Smothered chicken was good. The yams, dressing she enjoyed the cabbage had too much vinegar (sent them back). We both wanted to try the wings which were cooked pretty but when your bones are black the chicken is old. The Peach cobbler was horrible. All peaches and no crust. I believe crust is part of the dish. I'm not going back unless invited by the establishment.

This location was the perfect halfway point for all of us. We arrived bright and early around 9:30 AM on a Wednesday. I had called ahead to reserve a booth, my absolute favorite kind of seating. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and immediately seated. Our server (I unfortunately forgot his name!) was fantastic. He brought out fresh coffee right away, took our breakfast orders, and was extremely kind, polite, and attentive throughout our entire meal. The menu has plenty of options, ranging from scratch-made omelettes and burritos to salads and a dedicated kids' menu. The Breakfast Plate Specials ($12-$14) Both my cousin and aunts ordered this. It came loaded with pancakes, hashbrowns, sausage, and toast--an absolute steal for the price~ Turkey Club Sandwich & Fries: I was in the mood for lunch, so I opted for the club. The fries were hot and perfectly crispy. The sandwich itself was wonderful, packed with turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My only tiny critique is that I wish it came with mayo (I'm a huge mayo fan!). However, I ordered a side of ranch which paired perfectly and really elevated the sandwich. The vibe here is incredibly laid-back, welcoming, and brightly lit. Everything--including the restrooms--was sparkling clean. They had TVs playing a local soccer game and a nice bar area where it looks like they serve up a great selection of beer and wine for happy hour. I didn't grab an alcoholic drink this time, but I already have my eye on a cranberry mimosa for my next visit! Before you leave, make sure to check out the front counter--they have a massive display of freshly baked cookies, pies, and other goodies~ For the price, the food is absolutely worth it and the service is top-notch. Thank you so much, Dinah's Comfort Kitchen--we will definitely be back when we're in the area again!

I love the outdoor patio area and the classic diner decor. I cannot wait to go back.

I ordered the quarter bird with mild spice, fries, and banana pudding. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the mild spice level was perfect for me. It had a little kick without being too spicy. The fries were really good and seasoned well. I also enjoyed the banana pudding, which was a nice sweet treat after the meal. One thing that stood out to me was how friendly the employees were. Even though it was busy, they were welcoming and provided great customer service, which made the experience even better. Overall, I had a great experience. Between the delicious food and the friendly staff, I can see why so many people recommend this place. I'd definitely come back again when I'm craving hot chicken.

Winner Winner Chicken errr... Lunch…read more So we are always skeptical if there is way too much hype surrounding a eatery. However in the case of Howlin Ray's the hype is justified. The staff were super friendly and on point The Food: (A word on heat. They have 6 levels from Country with none to Howlin. We can take a decent amount of heat. I went medium and my son went hot. The medium was just the right balance with a nice burn especially on the back end. The next level, hot, was also really good and hit close to our limit) The Sando: a nice sized chicken breast perfectly fried. The chicken was moist but well cooked and the batter was seasoned perfectly. The slaw added a nice crunch to things, the comeback sauce added richness and the pickles added a brinney crunch to offset the goodness. The bun put up a valiant effort but about of the way through it gave up and the Sando became a fork affair. The Slaw: It was just okay, on the sando it was perfect, on its own, just okay The Macaroni Salad: Glorious, simply glorious. Whatever spicing they were using with the fries seemed evident here giving it a reddish hue. The the bits of dill, onions, and pickles helped balance the whole thing perfectly. This would be right at home on a North Shore plate lunch. Shake Fries: Perfectly fired crinkle fries shaken in that spicing they use. Dipped in the comeback sauce or on their own they were awesome. Banana Pudding: OMG so good. With the traditional vanilla wafer on top. Rich and luscious it was a perfect end to the meal. The only downside? This location is small and if you want to eat there there are only a few tables. Parking also sucked. Those thinks aside excellent place

I couldn't believe I'd never reviewed it before so I wanted to do so following another delicious brunch at Joyce today. From the moment we sat down, the service was impeccable. Our table never lacked for tea, water, coffee, etc. Foster took great care of us (and shout out to Nick who's also provided amazing service to us there). The Bloody Mary was the first thing to blow my mind. It was absolutely delicious and maybe my new favorite Bloody Mary in LA. It made me wish I'd Ubered. But I also had some wonderful hot, Earl Grey tea. I love how they present it to the table. We covered a lot of ground and no notes. We had the caviar with crème fraîche and truffle kettle chips, a seafood platter that , the fried green tomatoes - which I will order every time I'm there, and the Dungeness crab and rock shrimp Benedict. The dining room itself is beautiful--comfortable, stylish, and inviting. When you look around the room there, it feels like every table in there is celebrating something. In a city overflowing with brunch options, it's surprisingly rare to find a place where the food, service, atmosphere, and pacing all work together so seamlessly. It was one of those meals that reminds you why dining out can still feel special.
