Pork Gyoza (5 Pieces)
Jesse H.

Came in the night before Christmas Eve, hole in the wall with great vibes. Came in with an appetite so ordered a bunch of food. The service was great and quick! I definitely recommend if you want to stop for a quick bite or a heavy appetite. Will definitely be coming back!

Ambiance: it's a very small and packed sushi place located in silver lake, there are very limited dining tables inside, and this place is good for takeout orders Service: very friendly and attentive, served water and food adequately Food: not the most authentic food but overall acceptable quality, combination items have the best value here SUSHI 7 PCS (TUNA, SALMON, SHRIMP, ALBACORE, YELLOWTAIL, WHITE FISH, EEL) - **** recommend for the variety, salmon and eel were great, others were okay SPICY TUNA ROLL - *** light taste MISO SOUP - *** average taste Price: moderate portions and very affordable prices, expect $25 per person

The dinner combo with cucumber wraps!

I'll give almost any sushi place that offers cucumber wraps as a roll option 5 stars. But on top of that WTF has probably the best quality sushi I've had in its price range. Absolutely destroys the competition. They also gave noodles, tempura, gyoza and the standard array of sides and appetizers you'd expect.

Tried the sushi from What The Fish and it was amazing. The salmon was incredibly fresh, super clean tasting, and definitely one of the highlights of the meal. I also tried the roll with the meat, and that one was amazing too -- great flavor and a really unique combo that worked perfectly. Overall, the quality here really stands out. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're craving fresh, delicious sushi

Spicy Tuna Roll.

First off, love the name of this place and the acronym (WTF). A friend of mine came over to visit, so I ordered some items for us to share. Salmon Sushi (3 pieces), Spicy Tuna Roll, Shrimp Tempura Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Garlic Edamame, & Miso Soup. The food was securely packaged and delivered on time. The miso was still hot when it arrived. The presentation of the sushi was nice. The Salmon was fresh and buttery soft. The Shrimp Tempura Spicy Tuna roll was huge and very tasty. The Spicy Tuna roll was good, and the Spicy Garlic Edamame was delicious and addicting. The prices were very reasonable, and the quality was good. Everything tasted fresh. I would order from here again.

Baked Salmon Roll

Super meh, just very average. I ordered 4 basic rolls including the spicy tuna, eel and avocado, salmon, and albacore. The presentation of the cut rolls weren't the prettiest and the taste was just okay. The ladies working are super sweet and I really wish I would've liked this spot more. Seems like it's more of a takeout spot, since the inside only has like three tables.

And it happened again, and it was again a delight to consume nicely prepared delicious sushi - directly UberEats delivered to our mouths... PREVIOUS REVIEW Wtf! Wonderful texture and flavor! Ordered as an Uber Eats straight home, it was a wonderful and despite some transport shakeup nicely presented collection of tasty delights: caterpillar roll, crunchy roll, rainbow roll, blue crab roll, miso soup and seaweed salad. All without exception were excellent, fresh and as desired from the distance of my sofa! Can't be much easier ...

Best sushi and environment ever !!! Nue was such a sweetheart! The ingredients tasted fresh and had great presentation. Love the mellow vibes and food quality! Super happy we came here. Will definitely be back next time in town! Thank you what the fish

Amazing. Simple amazing little spot. Fish was fresh and delicious. It is small, and it is easy to have to wait in line.

My young daughter and I decided to come in about 8:30pm on Saturday night and we're from San Diego…read moreso we were excited to try something new. Place was full and cheery, we only waited 10 mins for a good table. We ordered lasagna with mushroom cream which was delicious but pasta crust at bottom was overcooked and dry, even then we thought it was great tasting and were hungry and so I ate the top. She ordered another pasta with grilled chicken. That was good as well. Outstanding? No! I was a little disappointed with service but noticed other people enjoying their food so we continued on. The service was not bad - the waiter was cordial but blah - we even tried to joke a bit but he wasn't in the mood to smile. Dinner for us both with one glass of wine and two pastas was $128 dls. No dessert - we decided to find somewhere else more welcoming for dessert. For that price I think we could have done better. Maybe just a bad night??

Came to this little hamlet in the heart of Los Feliz with my family and left nourished, in both…read morebelly and soul! Oscar was our server and took great care of us! We were there at 6pm on a Sunday night but they filled up quick, so I highly recommend a reservation. At dusk, candles are lit and the ambiance becomes warm and intimate; the perfect setting for date night, a birthday/anniversary, or just catching up with friends. We ordered the meatballs (polpette filanti) as an appetizer, which were perfectly moist and tender and blanketed in melty mozzarella (tip: save the sauce for your bread!!). I ordered a special, the Fusilli Toscana (Sun dried tomato, sautéed spinach, and sweet Italian sausage in a light cream sauce), and as much as I wanted to finish it, I deliberately saved half for a bonus lunch the next day! I also stole bites of the Brie and albicocche (Brie, prosciutto, and apricot!!) ravioli in their Bianco and Rosso sauce and I just about died in my seat. *chefs kiss* As if it couldn't get any better, ordered the Pansu (espresso panna cotta) and Tiramisu for dessert and right then and there swore to return when anyone comes to visit me or any time I wanna take a friend out and treat them to a wonderfully authentic Italian hidden gem called La Pergoletta! Buon Appetito!!

Family favorite restaurant. Parking sucks, but not their fault lol! Service is always fast…read more The seafood always tastes fresh, prices are fair. Sauce is always so yummy. They also have thai food, which defers from other seafood broil restaurants. The crab thai style fried rice is our favorite! 10/10 hit the spot. Food was great. Michelada was delicious. They have beer buckets and pitchers! Beer on tap and bottles.

We came in around 8:50 p.m., about 40 minutes before closing, and immediately felt rushed because…read morethe older lady waitress helping us repeatedly reminded us that they were closing while we were looking at the menu. We were not taking an unreasonable amount of time to order. Three of us ordered one pound of shrimp and one pound of clams, plus extra sausage and corn. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The flavor was mediocre compared with other seafood boil restaurants, the corn pieces were extremely small, the potatoes were minimal, and the sausage tasted and looked more like a low quality hot dog despite paying extra for it. The biggest issue was the clams. A large portion of the shells were empty, and even the clams that actually had meat in them were extremely small compared with what was shown in the menu picture. We checked the bottom of the bag and could not find the missing clam meat. The attached photo was taken after we had already eaten some of the food, yet several empty shells are still clearly visible. Paying by the pound only to receive so many empty shells and tiny clams was extremely disappointing. Because of the poor food quality and feeling rushed, we decided not to leave a tip, which was listed as suggested and not mandatory. Instead of simply accepting our decision, the older lady waitress pointed out that we left a zero dollar tip and asked what was wrong. After we respectfully explained our concerns, she continued pressing us, told us she was disappointed in us, and then complained about us to other employees within earshot of other customers. That was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. We understand that arriving later in the evening may not be ideal, but the restaurant was still open and accepted our order. Customers should not be rushed, served disappointing food, and then publicly shamed over a voluntary tip. Especially for the price, there are far better seafood boil restaurants with much better food, portions, and service. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this place.

Girl dinner on the open-air patio, and everything worked: food, drinks, and service that was…read moreattentive without hovering. Mírate is known for its agave program (ranked among the best bars in North America, with a dedicated mezcaleria), and it shows even in simple orders. Our skinny spicy marg, skinny Cadillac, and two ranch waters were all clean and well balanced. The crab & cheese buñuelitos, the taco de ribeye, and the potatoes & piquillos, which quietly outperformed for a $10 side. One note for fellow spice-sensitive folks: the salsa molcajete is their mildest salsa, but it still had a kick for me. My friend's branzino arrived beautifully charred and plated. If you're gluten-free or celiac, this kitchen gets it. They swapped in corn tortillas without hesitation and took care of my celiac friend with zero stress. Not a given, even in LA. The multi-level space is stunning, so come a few minutes early to take it in. Parking is easy too: valet at the restaurant or 2 lots about a block away. Already planning what to order next time.

I was really hoping to leave a positive review, but unfortunately that wasn't the case…read more I've been to Mirate before on June 20, and my experience then was nothing like my visit on July 10, 2026. One of the reasons I recommended Mirate is because it's known for being a highly rated modern Mexican restaurant with exceptional service and knowledgeable staff, especially when it comes to tequila and mezcal. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at all. Before ordering food, I asked our server about the differences between the mezcals and which flight they would recommend. The only explanation I received was, "It's just different families, so I'd go with the higher quality one." There was no real information or guidance, and it was obvious they didn't know much about the mezcal selection. I ended up choosing one based solely on what sounded best. We were then informed that the menu had recently changed and is now mostly tapas. That's perfectly fine, but I noticed several items from my previous visit were still available, so I figured I'd order a few favorites along with some new dishes. Most of the food was actually great. The ribeye tacos, tostada, and buñuelitos were all delicious. However, the carne asada was extremely disappointing. We only sent back one plate because I felt bad sending both, and that's when a manager (the gentleman with the man bun) came over. He explained that they have a new chef from Oaxaca, but what confused me was that they were serving Argentinian-style steaks as their carne asada. Instead of a traditional Mexican-style cut, it was thin, flat, and honestly looked like a breakfast steak. For a restaurant that prides itself on being a modern Mexican restaurant, serving Argentinian steak as carne asada just didn't make sense to me. To his credit, he removed both carne asada plates from our bill, which I genuinely appreciated. After that, he asked if there was anything else we'd like. I personally said no, but someone else at the table asked for one more ribeye taco. The manager replied, "You know what? I'll bring you one, and I'll bring them another too." Naturally, I assumed he was offering the extra taco as a goodwill gesture since I hadn't ordered anything else. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the bill and realized both tacos had been added to our tab. I wasn't going to argue over the price of a taco, but it was frustrating because I never asked for it. In fact, I ended up giving that taco away to my friends. If it wasn't complimentary, it shouldn't have been presented as if it were. Another thing worth mentioning is that while the carne asada portion has clearly gotten much smaller, the price remains exactly the same, which doesn't seem justified. Overall, my biggest disappointment is that there was no indication when making the reservation that this was essentially an experimental period with a new chef introducing major menu changes. Had I known beforehand, I never would have recommended Mirate for our dinner, and to be completely honest, I probably wouldn't have made a reservation at all. I only get two days off each month, so this was supposed to be something I could really enjoy. Instead, it honestly felt like a waste of my time and money. I'm sorry to say that while there were a few good moments, they faded very quickly. Unfortunately, the negative parts are what have stayed with me, and that's what I'll remember most about the experience. It's disappointing because I know how great Mirate can be since I experienced it just a few weeks ago. I truly hope they can regain the quality of food, service, and overall experience that made me recommend it in the first place . ( for the picture of the flat carne asada the full steak has 2 more strips added but we had tried it before taking a picture however that's MOST of the "carne asada" portion in the picture )
