For my daughter's graduation party, we ordered a 6 foot sub from Fulciniti's. I ordered 1 day in advance and barely made the cut, so be sure to give them more notice. $160 later, we got a gorgeous Italian sub. It was wrapped in saran wrap and then placed inside a long card board box. If you take it out of the box, you'll need to properly support it or else it will sag and bend and snap off. The sub was good. The deli meats tasted fresh and the bread was good. Ours came with lettuce tomato and pickles with hots and onions on the side. Folks at the store were friendly. I'd consider them again the next time we need a large sub. They also do other food catering options as well, but I did not try those yet. read more

compared to what used be now it's just it's ok... bread is still really good .. they are really stingy with toppings on sandwiches and help doesn't seem to care much about putting out a decent product ., Their hott case food looks dry and like had been sitting there all day .. you would think they would tell the high school kids have working there to rotate the food or least mix it up before serving. I finally got around to checking out Fulciniti's Market in Waltham. Two subs were ordered; an Italian on braided roll and meatball parm sub on a braided roll. For the Italian I ordered without onion, but with hots. Watching the making of the sub I had to remind them no onions as the onions were being placed on my sandwich. Then as they were closing it up, had to remind them of the hots. I will add that I was the obit customer in the market, so we can't blame it on the overwhelming lunch crowd. Both sandwiches were delicious with soft bread another positive. I also picked up drinks, chips, and some Italian Pizzelle cookies which were not as good as my grandmother and mother used to make, but did satisfy the craving of home. read more

This place is a Waltham staple! I absolutely love their Italian sub on a sesame knot roll.. with their Italian oil and vinegar dressing so good! The chicken parm and meatball sub is yummy too! Staff does not skimp on the ingredients either! This is deli style you go down the line and pick what you want. They have awesome catering too! Great place for sandwiches and entrees. I didn't have time to cook and we were craving subs!! This is definitely the place to go if you can find parking. It is a tough spot in a corner but worth the walk. The bread is fresh, the sandwiches are made to order right in front of you. The service was excellent and the menu is extensive. If it was inky fat free and didn't have calories it would be perfect! They screwed up my part of a group order. I ordered a Chicken Parm sub with Provolone and a Meatball Parm with Provolone and instead I got two Meatball Parm subs. I called and spoke with someone and they said they would take my name down and give me another sandwhich, but they will never remember. Downhill like a lot of other places. We ordered takeout Thanksgiving Eve. Ordered a meatball sub and an Italian sub. Meatballs were mushy and flavorless with way too much bland sauce soaking the bread. I make a better Italian sub at home. Years ago, my father told me this expression: "One rotten apple can spoil the whole barrel!" Well, that's exactly how I feel about Fulciniti's customer service by one of the owners who consistently works Fri. nights (sorry, I don't know his name). BTW, I've been buying various Italian dishes there 4 over 20 years!!! Whenever I'm buying on Fri nites, there is always a problem w/that particular person. On last Fri., he came out 2 my car 4 second time yelling at me 4 asking questions about pricing 4 eggplant by the lb. vs. by the sandwich. He was swearing at me bcaus according 2 him, I was taking 2 much time asking questions. Since this is 2nd time that guy has yelled at me & used profanity, I will no longer do business there!! After all, there R so many other good Italian take-out places in Waltham that I also frequent: Angelo's, B & F, Chateau, Domenic's, N. Y. Pie, Pini's, Wal. Pizza, etc. & just over the line, Gigi's. Believe it or not, this is only place I have problem w/customer service!!! This kind of unique problem happened w/former George's (I think that was the name) Sub Shop on Main St., which is now owned by Enzina. Because my very first job 65 years ago was in a take-out place, I'm very careful 2 be very courteous with these workers: ask Juan at Burger King or Maria at Wendy's. FIRST: You have just found the best Steak & Cheese Sub (Cheesesteak to you Philly folks) in Massachusetts. The owners take exceptional care to source delicious, fresh Italian rolls. I think they said they buy a special high quality cut of beef & slice it themselves (which you can taste in the final product); a generous amount of provolone cheese. Exquisite. People swear by the chicken cutlets, veal parm and meatball subs too....but that steak & cheese wins every time. What can I say, I'm a fan!!! My husband and I have come here for more than 22 years. I first discovered it when I worked in Waltham and all the office employees were thrilled to introduce me to the local Italian sub shop. The only thing that could improve my experience would be seating - on a good weather day it would be wonderful to share a sub with friends outdoors. Sometimes a few superlatives make the difference between the barely mediocre and passable, and that's the story with Fulcintini's. Located about a quarter mile off of Main Street, this little Italian-flavored market largely resembles a standard convenience store. Mostly what one finds here is the lottery, a selection of chips and soft drinks and candy. Parking is on the street and there's no seating area. Pretty standard stuff... ...right until one looks at the pizza and cold cuts. True, this place doesn't have the selection of cheeses and meats that one finds at comparable places on Moody Street, but the selection of deli items is nonetheless very fresh. The pizza, however, is Fulcintini's strongest point. Although it only comes in one size, it's always fresh, very flavorful, and among the most satisfying one finds outside of the North End. Pizza alone wins it two stars. Come by for the pizza, don't expect much else, and you'll leave satisfied. read more

They're my "local" to pick up a salad. Pretty ordinary, but my requirements are not all that stringent; it should be crispy, no brown stuff or yukkies and at least an olive or two - for under $5. They fit the profile for that description. I find all the other food too calorie dense so I stear clear. I used to eat the pizza there, and in fairness it was my "local" for pizza even though I found it sometimes a little oily and these days I tend to only eat pizza very rarely so I am much more picky now. Fulciniti's is an Excellent choice to get a great lunch for the best prices around! Some of the best subs in town: Roast Beef Grilled Chicken Pastrami Chicken Parm Meatball Veal subs And the large is all for less than 7$!! The price for the food you get is Epic. There bread is always fresh, crisp but soft.. there pizza and pastas are also amazing.. simply, I've never been disappointed with my food from Fulciniti's, and my wallet would appreciate it if I came here more often! The owners are working hard behind the counter, and are very helpful, very friendly, and patient when you can't quite decide what you want.. they're also very good at recommending some of there best selections and what toppings to put on. I never ever would have tried the pastrami, especially with just mustard and cheese.. but I put my trust in his advice, and he didn't let me down! It was very different from anything I've tried, delicious, and now one of my favorite subs. The location is a little awkward and parking can be tough, especially on that super steep hill.. but this place has been around for 29 years, with no advertising at all, for a very good reason! read more

When I was eating gluten, I'd often get a couple of slices here and it would hit the spot. The subs were good too. And the calzones. All subs are served on a braided, sesame-seeded roll. Now, avoiding gluten, it's the antipasto, basically a stock salad with the guts of an italian sub cut up over it, and some dressing. It's good and it's filling, add a bag of chips for some carbs and grab a drink and I'm good to go. Back in my gluten days, I found the BBQ Beef Special to be disappointing. Great place to eat in Waltham. Love their Chicken Cutlet sub. The staff are friendly and helpful. I love that it is located in the Highlands. However, I have a few suggestions. One is to advertise more and maybe put a sign either on the highway restaurant board or put a few on the main roads of Waltham. A good location would be Bacon St and Lexington St since a lot of people come off the highway. Main St could be another prime location. Another suggestion is to be open on Sundays. I know it isn't easy but people might want to grab a bite to eat especially during the summer. Another is to find a way to include more parking. Obviously I realize that is hard but it would attract more customers. read more
