What wasn't okay, is she asked a hairstylist to wash me and he just walked in holding a doggy bag with dog poop in it after picking up her dog's poop. Wow! I've been to a few blow dry bars, but this one is different. They start with a super relaxing scalp massage and then do the blow dry service. The (young) lady who did my hair was excellent. She suggested a style that would work well for the outfit I planned to wear and even gave me some makeup tips along the way. I have never had a blow out service come out this nice! On the flip side, however, not all their stylists are so thorough. My friend who was with me asked for medium curls and got a nice, standard blow dry, but nothing over the top. Her stylist finished with her in 20 minutes and moved on to the next customer. When she later asked for a fancier 'do, the woman simply said she was 'too busy'. I debated a 4-Star or 5-star review on this business, but gave them the boost because the young stylist cane to the rescue and added in curls for my friend. I came here today to get my hair done for a wedding I was attending today. I honestly left the salon all mad and annoyed. The girl who did my hair she did a horrible job. I asked her for this hairstyle I saw that I want to style. When she did the first braid in the middle it came so ugly and then she made an excuse why she couldn't do the other two braids because apparently the color of my hair wasn't going to let the other two braids look good. Esther was my stylist , she was very accommodating,offered me drinks, put good YouTube videos on for me to watch lol while she worked her magic. As soon I left the salon I drove to Vegas ,my hair looked good all of Friday and Saturday washed it Sunday morning that's how awesome my blowout was. Great place! Only issue is making appointments , they won't say yes or no on availability they'll call you back within 15min and inform you if they can help you out. I really hate giving bad reviews, but I am typing this up at 1 AM because i am in dismay with my hair today :( This being my first makeup and hair professional done, I really had no standards going into it. This was for my engagement photo session that day (4/12) and I went in around 11:30. _____ was assigned to me and she came about 10 minutes late, which is fine, the lady already there was nice and called ____ to ask her ETA. I am totally okay with that, especially since I had booked my appointment so last minute. So props to the salon for accommodating last minute appointments! So I showed my hair stylist a picture of very simple beach waves. She proceeded to start curling my hair very tightly and in small sections, so I knew this didn't look right. She reassured me by the time my engagement photo session started (which I told her was 2:30 PM), it would loosen up. She continued to curl my hair in small sections very tightly and with a lot of hair spray. Little concerned I asked her, "What happens if it doesn't loosen up by the time for the photos." She told me very confidently that it would loosen up by then but if it didn't then to run my fingers through it or shake it out. I took her word for it. I arrived home around 1 PM, and was really still bothered that my hair was so curly and nothing like the picture of soft beach curls I showed her. I ran my fingers through my hair and even contemplated straightening my hair before leaving. However, my fiancee, being the supportive type, kept saying it was fine and that I should just trust the person who did my hair, because she knows what she was doing. Still worried about my hair, the whole drive to the engagement shoot I was tugging at my hair hoping that the curls would loosen....it did not. No joke, it is 1:15 AM right now and my curls are still as curly as they were when I left the salon. I mean, this would be great if I wanted Shirley Temple curls, but I didn't! Needless to say none of my engagement pictures of me looked good. I saw a few photos and the damn curls were so pronounce. My fiancee looked great, but I looked so bad with my hair all bunched up in tight curls. The photographers had to keep playing with my hair and move it so it wouldn't look so stiff and bunch up every time I moved...I was very embarrassed and had to keep apologizing that they had to fix my hair. I really am not the type to complain and make a big deal out of stuff (with the exception of this, since I spent over $90), but my engagement shoot (which cost money too) did not go well. I was so discouraged the whole time that my hair was not loosening and felt very self conscience about it. What made it worse and to really put the cherry on top was when I was at the engagement shoot and a girl with beautiful beach waves walked across....I never felt so unsatisfied with my hair than at that moment. I really did speak up when I was concerned about something that I did not like, but even when I spoke up, I was given a reassurance of my doubt. I called Saturday morning and was able to get a last minute appointment that Saturday afternoon to get my hair done before my friend's wedding. Mary gave me a hair wash and some beach waves. I loved her willingness to discuss my indecisiveness, her feedback about my options, and her realistic approach to the look we decided on. I told her my hair is stick straight and doesn't hold a curl well, so she gave me ringlets and told me by the time I got to the wedding hours later, I would have the beach waves we had discussed. While she worked on me and put all this fun product in my hair, I watched the hair and makeup vlogs they had playing on the TVs talking about new products and hairstyle varieties. At times I wished I could hear what they were saying but I also knew it wouldn't be as relaxing of an experience if the volume had been up. True to her word, I had beach waves by the time I got to the wedding, but true to my word, the beach waves were stick straight by the time the ceremony was over. My fault for my optimism and naïveté! Next time I'll ask Mary to forgo the waves and just do a braided updo of some kind, something that can be pinned up to look cool. Multiple days and showers later, I could still feel the softness and smell the wonderful aroma of the conditioning products Mary used on my hair. Good stuff! read more

The stylist I ALWAYS go to is on 4 months of maternity leave, and, although I don't trust anyone do my hair but her, I knew my hair needed some love. I saw the recommendations on yelp for Maury, the "blonde expert", and decided to give it a try- it's just summer, right? The salon feels like I just walked into an LA salon- super high aesthetic points from me. It's reassuring to know that the stylist aren't recent graduates from beauty school- I found out they came with about 10 years experience from another salons before this salon opened. Went here a week ago to get my hair and makeup done for my engagement pictures and the experience was terrible. I had an appointment at 12pm and the manager did not even start my hair until 1:40pm!!! She didn't even offer me a water or coffee just let me sit there beyond stressed out that I would be late for my photographer. Ended up hating my hair and had to do my own makeup in the car. I picked this salon because of the good reviews but unfortunately did not have a good experience at all. I scheduled my appointment 2 months out for my maternity photo session. I called a few days before to confirm and they had never put my appointment in their system (even though I called and spoke to someone). They then told me the time I had wanted was no longer available but could take me earlier which wasn't ideal because it would be 7 hours before my photo session. The girl was super nice and talked to a stylist who agreed to stay a little past closing so I could come in at 12:30. I was really impressed with the customer service. The day before I got a reminder text asking to confirm my appointment at 12:00. I was confused because a few days earlier I was told that time was not available. I called to make sure if I showed up at 12:30 it wouldn't be an issue and was told they didn't know why the person a few days earlier would have told me 12:00 wasn't available. At this point I probably should have looked for somewhere else but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. The girl who did my hair and makeup was very sweet but I was very unhappy with how everything turned out. I wanted very natural makeup and kept saying I didn't like my eyebrows. She was using the wrong color and it looked orange. It was also really thick. The foundation didn't even cover up the dark circles under my eyes. I finally gave up and decided I would re-do my makeup after I left. Then came the hair. I kept asking for waves like beach waves which their website lists as one of their styles. Instead I was getting curls. The girl asked if I had a picture of what I wanted but I didn't. Usually when I get my hair done and I ask for waves, I get waves. I guess I should have had a picture of what I wanted. I also though Blow Dry Bars would use a blow dryer and round brush to achieve the look (this has been my experience) but instead she used a curling iron and straightener. I've gotten my hair and makeup done multiple times and have never had such a disappointing experience. I was also really uncomfortable with how much she talked about what happened to her when she was pregnant and didn't appreciate that she asked me how much weight I've gained so far in my pregnancy. All in all, it was a waste of $90 for me. Next time I know I need a picture of exactly what I want so I guess that part is my fault for not being more prepared. read more

Jill has worked magic on my hair over the years. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my blonde. She got me to the pale blonde color i wanted without damaging my hair and continues to color my dark roots when they grow in, matching them to the exact color of the rest of my hair. I had never had extensions before because i didn't think they would look natural or blend with my fine, shoulder length hair, but Jill did them perfectly. Decor is so upscale and lavish, feels like a little treat.
