The only clinic that could, and did, help me travel internationally with my dog I called over 10 different veterinary clinics trying to find someone who could help me with an international health certificate for my dog, Shanti, and every single one either said they couldn't do it, didn't know how, or simply wouldn't help. Full Circle Vet was the only clinic willing and able to take it on, and they absolutely nailed it. From start to finish, every single staff member was warm, friendly, and totally on top of it. They handled complex paperwork, USDA requirements, and tight deadlines with such calm professionalism that it made a very stressful process feel manageable. They knew exactly what to do, acted promptly at every turn, and responded to obstacles with ease and confidence. Because of them, I am able to fly internationally with my dog today, something that's far more difficult and delicate than most people realize. I recently moved to the Portland area and picked Full Circle for proximity to my home; and they were incredibly attentive during the terminal illness and euthenasia of my former cat. My current cat recently decided to explore some toxic Asiatic lilies which I stupidly thought were beyond her reach or interest. As soon as I realized and called Full Circle, she was admitted all day for three successive days and treated with all of the steps I see on line are appropriate to save her kidneys. Today, I picked up a healthy cat and cannot be more grateful to Dr. Van, Maggie, and the rest of the team for acting quickly and competently as well as for their extensive cuddling of my adorable Maine Coon while in their care. Yes, updated and competent professional care of pets is expensive; and, yes, the overhead of maintaining an apparently-corporate-owned enterprise has expenses and an elevated profit concern beyond those of a locally-owned sole practice; but Full Circle in Lake Oswego saved my cat from what could have been severe kidney failure!! read more

This is the second time I've been here, and I can't find words to say enough how good it was. This time we saw Dr. Frey for euthanasia of Pinto, our elderly sick bunny. As an animal rescuer, I've been through plenty of euthanasias, and not all of them have gone as I had wished. As a physician, I've seen life from both ends of the stethoscope, and I understand the pressures and challenges of clinical medicine. I have been to academically-oriented vets (and MDs) in the past; and, while they are usually smart and up to date, they often neglact the "softer" side of medicine; i.e., the healing effect of patient comfort and family support. We can't prevent illness and death; the best we can do is to optimize wellness, manage disease, and offer comfort and kindness to the dying. Dr. Frey understood that she had three patients: our bunny, and us two humans. She gave us an incredible amount of her time. We went over the euthanasia procedure together in detail, and she addressed all my concerns. She gave Pinto a thorough physical examination to see if she concurred that it was "that time" and/or to offer alternatives if appropriate. She was very gentle with our bunny, who never seemed frightened. I was comforted to know that she agreed with our decision. For most of us, it's impossible to euthanize a beloved companion animal without second-guessing ourselves. We tend to feel guilt--either that we did it too soon, or that we waited too long, or that we didn't properly attend to our loved ones during their final days. I think that's because we, as caretakers, tend to feel as though we should have been able to "fix" our ailing animals and that having been unable do so represents a failure, even though we know intellectually that this isn't true. Dr. Frey understood our need to come to terms with our decision. She listened respectfully and with sensitivity to story after story about all the ways in which we had tried to give our bunny the best possible life, and what we had and hadn't been able to accomplish toward that end. I needed reassurance that we had been good guardians of our bunny and did right by her, and that now was the right time to offer her a peaceful passing. She offered that reassurance and more. And peaceful it was! Despite the fact that it took a long time and even an extra injection to achieve anesthesia level sedation before the final "pink stuff" injection, Dr. Frey was right there with us, supporting and never judging and never even seeming rushed. When it was time for the final injection, Dr. Frey hit the vein so smoothly, despite the fact that it was hard to hit because the bunny's blood pressure was low from the sedative. Pinto passed quietly and gently, and Dr. Frey stayed with us while I took a turn listening to Pinto's chest to assure myself that she had, indeed passed. Every single person who works there that I've interacted with has been excellent: really personal, caring, and knowledgeable. Receptionist Katie is the best customer service person I've ever dealt with at any business. Trey is also very good. Techs are great at calming down my dog and me. Took my orange Norwegian forest cat in with an eye problem that a different office near my home (which I won't name) said they'd look at and they barely LOOKED at his eye, or him for that matter, and tossed some expensive eye ointment at me and said its an eye infection, he'd be better if I put this goop in his eye three times a day. Well, he didn't get better after 3 days of struggling to get this Neosporin type goop into his eye, and in fact looked a little more miserable. (I would have been.) A patient of mine (I'm a dental assistant) recommended her office Full Circle and said they'd figure out what was wrong and they'd get me in that evening after work, even. So I rushed home to get Ted (the cat) and they did such a thorough exam, I was amazed. At the other vet, Ted would hide and whimper and hesitate to the dr's rough touch. I believe animals can sense a person's attitude and clearly Ted wasn't into hers. The dr we saw that day and the vet tech did everything they could to make Ted comfortable, including treats after every uncomfortable moment (which he loves...) and kept holding him and nuzzling him and I could hear his purr from across the room. They kept complimenting him on how handsome and brave he was and I think Ted could feel their calmness and felt totally at ease. Not only did the dr find a scratch on Ted's cornea, the medicine I was given at the other clinic was an antibiotic for an infection he didn't have. The Full Circle vet gave me some eye drops to sooth his eye and within a day or two he was back to his old self. I will only go to Full Circle for my cats from now on. Seeing the compassion they took for a fluffy orange cat with nothing but a scratched eye, I can only imagine what they'd do when I'd really need their care. They are amazing and even if it's a drive for you, make the drive. Give your pets the best care they can get from a loving staff who obviously love their jobs and the animals they see. read more

The staff and vets here are wonderful. My family have used this place for just over a year. We had tried several other veterinary practices, since moving to Oregon, this was the first place which listened to our Concerns. The Doctors here take all the time you need to help a pet make the transition 'over the rainbow bridge' and weep with you. The care they give to you pets is second to none. read more

Although the staff here is friendly, it is my opinion that the doctors provided insufficient care and poor decision-making, which I believe led to the death of my beloved cat. Two different doctors here treated my kitty. The first was Dr. Stuart and the second was Dr. Hawn. Their treatment plans were completely different. Based on what I have read since, neither plan included the comprehensive approach often recommended for my cat's ailments. What's worse, I think Dr. Stuart's actions delayed vital treatment by focusing on peripheral issues and weakened him so much he was unable to recover once Dr. Hawn took over. Instead of focusing on my cat's most severe issue, Dr. Stuart shoved a bunch of medications at me, including an antibiotic that Dr. Hawn later said she does not usually recommend, because it can mess up a cat's gut biome and digestion and cause abdominal pain (both of which were the case for my guy). After taking the antibiotic, he definitely seemed weaker and more miserable than when I brought him in. He was then seen by Dr. Hawn. He started to get a little better on Dr. Hawn's treatment plan, enough so that she said he would probably make a full recovery. Unfortunately, she also prescribed another round of a different antibiotic, which I now suspect continued to ruin his gut biome and make him even weaker and more dehydrated from diarrhea, nausea, and insufficient digestion. I thought he would bounce back as expected, but a few days later he got worse, then he suddenly died. I keep wondering if things would have been different if Dr. Stuart had actually treated his most severe illness when she discovered it, or if he would have been strong enough to pull through later if the original antibiotics hadn't weakened him so much. I also wonder why neither doctor suggested corticosteroids, which I have since read is a common and successful component of treatment for both of his ailments. I am absolutely gutted by this loss, and I will never forgive myself for taking him to this vet. read more

I have been going to this clinic for about 4-5 years. I have taken three dogs and spent thousands of dollars on services for my pets. Prior to the pandemic, the staff wereexcellent. I was really impressed how they talked to and made sure the pets were happy. They gave cheese whiz and cookies. Anything to make my pets feel comfortable and not feel traumatized. I felt the owner and the other doctors did a great job. Fast forward- many unpleasant situations, my opinion has drastically changed and I will NEVER go back or recommend anyone to use this clinic. The staff are all different from prior to the pandemic. Some are downright unfriendly and clearly unstable. They made a mistake and gave my dog an unneeded vaccination and told me don't worry we won't charge you. That was the least of my worries! They added my credit card to two other accounts while I had not been there in months. The receptionist proceeded to act rudely and tell me it was impossible for that to happen. After sending proof and her figuring out what happened they fixed it. A week or so later I noticed another charge-same issue for a different account! This office overcharges for every service and the owner appears to only care about making money. I have talked with her several times about these events and she acts empathetic, however closes with it's tough to find staff. She never makes a change or takes the concerns seriously. Her responses are so off-putting and really give the impression she doesn't care about the damage her staff are doing to her clinic's reputation. The last two times my two dogs had dentals they were out of it for 2.5 days, as if they underwent major surgery. My smaller dog had to be brought back in days later for cough because of the irritation they caused with the breathing tube. Charged me for all of it. My older dog was brought out bleeding from his IV site, and the owner came out to talk to me that he possibly has a blood clotting issue. That may be the case, but her staff were not checking on my dog the entire 2-3 hours he was there recovering. I saw the assistant look panicked after she went to get him and the owner came out all big eyed trying to explain why he was still bleeding hours after the IV was removed. The last straw was when I took our new puppy for her last set of shots. I had been charged two full exams within a matter of weeks. I asked if for the third visit the exam could be waived. Emily (who is the best and only caring employee there) said she'd ask the owner. The owner approved it. The older lady technician that starting working during COVID came out and proceeded to chastise me about not wanting to pay for another exam. She yelled, "well just so you know you'll need to pay for an exam when you bring her back to get spayed, you will not get away with not paying then". That was not what I was asking for and who did she think she was treating a long-time customer who has spent thousands of dollars that way. In the lobby no less! Emily sat there stunned. Apologized and got the owner. The owner didn't want a scene and took me back to an exam room to talk about what just occurred with this employee. She could see that I was very upset, once again with her staff. Again, the same sob story of people are hard to find... She has terrible bed-side manners, we get a lot of complaints, but she's really a good tech! Also, this was the same tech that shaved my other dogs face and tear area when I simply asked for a sanitary shave while she was having her teeth cleaned. She shaved her face! So, I have finally given up on this clinic. The owner needs to wake up. I get that it's a struggle in every industry now, however, I feel these are serious issues that should not be ignored. My dogs used to go into that clinic happy and ready to eat all the cheese whiz and cookies they could get. The last two years when we pulled up they would shake and practically go into convulsions walking up to the door. So sad. The owner's reluctance to face these staff issues could lead to a serious problem for someone's pet. Do not take that risk. read more

Took my Rabbit to be evaluated for breathing issues. She was evaluated and sent home on antibiotics, because they suspected she might have a common rabbit bacterial infection. We went over next steps in the office with Dr. Frey. I was told they would have to do a scope of her trachea if the antibiotics didn't work. I came back two weeks later, my rabbits state had improved greatly but still when her trachea area was touched she would make a noise. Indicating there could have been some damage, so I asked about the scope and was told they actually couldn't do that. It was never actually an option. Red flag #1. Then Dr Frey proceeded to order her staff to do blood work. When I asked what the blood work was for, the vets immediate response was that they would feel fine not ordering the $160 blood work, because there was nothing indicating an infection. Which i already knew. How quickly and for no reason that dr Frey could explain, were they just going to charge me $160. Red flag #2. A month later my rabbit got really sick, really quick on a Sunday. Completely different symptoms. She was having wet unformed stools. My daughter and I also were quarantined for covid. I called Monday morning and was told they didn't have any available time to see my Rabbit, but wanted to put her on the schedule for the following week. I said I didn't think she would it make it that long, but scheduled an appointment anyways. I was going to try and call Tuesday morning to get their emergency appointment. I ended up driving to their clinic to get Critical Care supplement to syringe feed her that day. Within two hours my bunny declined so much I called emotional, asking what I could do to comfort her. I couldn't take her to Dove Lewis because of Covid and that's when the clinic told me to rush her in. Unfortunately, my bunny passed when we were minutes from the clinic. I finished driving to the clinic and called when we got there. I called 3 times, again, I had covid and was trying not to enter the building. I saw one of the techs letting two smaller dogs pee while she scrolled her phone. I was trying to compose my tears and I stepped out of the car and said "hi, I've been trying to call the phone because " she abruptly cut me off and rudely said "yea our phones are off for lunch" and then I just broke down crying that our bunny just passed in the car and I didn't know what to do" she didn't say anything back, stared at me like she was irritated and starting jerking and pulling the two small dogs, scolding them to come. She's a medium built lady with gray short hair, and if those were my dogs I'd be pissed. Red flag #3. One of the other techs came out and she exhibited bed side manner and asked if I wanted my rabbit cremated. I declined and asked if I could pay for a box. She gave me a bag for free. That's why I gave two stars and not one. A moment ago I got a call, about how I missed my appointment to bring my rabbit in. "Hi how are you today?" I responded "I'm ok" and then she asked "oh well you missed your appointment for ... " and I was appalled. I reminded them that she'd passed at their clinic a week before and I assumed they would have made a note. I'm disappointed in the service of this place. read more

Great vets and wonderful staff! They are the only vets I trust with my ferrets. We also had one of our cats put down here and they were so caring, patient and understanding. Regrettably, they have a 100% mark-up on supplements as reflected on attached photos. Full Circle charged $44.50 for Potassium Citrate which Amazon sells identical product/amount for $19.90. Called to confirm the amount charged was correct prior to leaving this review. They stand by the markup indicating I paid this amount before on two separate occasions and the price had not increased since that time. Unfortunately, this does not justify their markup. Further, on those two occasions, I had no idea they were marking their supplements up by double the Amazon price for the identical product. I was also disappointed after dropping off my pet's urine for lab work. When I called for the results, they refused to have a vet speak with me regarding the findings unless I paid for their time. I support markups for profit; but, double the cost for supplements, for me, is unacceptable and greedy. Also holding urine results hostage for profit seems inappropriate. My regular vet (who is not local which is why I took the urine here) consults on these issues for free. Full Circle had examined my dog before and administered vaccinations for this pet. Therefore, they were familiar with the dog and could have opined on the findings without charge. It would have been a brief call. I opted to have the results emailed to me and my vet. My regular vet called me and gave me a quick consult for free. I am not interested in being nickled and dimed when it comes to my pet. Clients are vulnerable when it comes to the costs associated with pet care. Just be mindful of these business practices if you elect to go here. read more

I can't say enough about Dr. Frye, she's excellent with my frightened dog, clipping nails and getting in to check a wounded dog paw. Dr. Stuart is kind, caring and I especially like the way she treats my cats. Their vet techs are caring and capable and the front desk staff (especially Karla) are wonderful. This office does not have a lot of turn over, which tells me that people are happy here, and they stay for a reason. This year I signed up for the Wellness care package and have been saving money on vet bills. Yeah! I'd recommend this veterinary clinic to anyone in the area. I went here for years and although expensive I thought they were very caring. Then I drove from my new home with a sick ferret only to get no service as the vet on duty did not do ferrets wasting my gas and time though I was very clear I was bringing in a ferret. NOW I find out that a surgery to remove an adrenal gland (900+ $) I had done several years ago was never performed as a recent surgery revealed BOTH adrenals. So what exactly did they do? I wasn't able to get my bunny Pancake in to see her regular veterinarian, and she needed to be seen urgently. Full Circle let me know their appointments were booked, but if I dropped Pancake off to hang out at the hospital during the day, she'd be seen when the doctors had a moment in between appointments. Dr. Sandy, with support from Dr. Stuart, updated me all day and we decided to get Pancake on antibiotics for a urinary/kidney infection. With bloodwork results, medication instructions, and follow up check ins, the whole team was prompt, professional, personal, friendly, and made us feel like we'd been clients for years. Just a few weeks later, Pancake's health got worse, and we called as soon as Full Circle opened in the morning for an appointment. Pat, the client coordinator, scheduled Pancake for 10 am, and then called back to offer a 9 am, or just to come on in whenever since it was urgent. Dr. Stuart examined Pancake, offered her sincere and professional opinions, and helped us feel as good as we could feel about making the tough decision to say goodbye. Dr. Stuart educated us on what was going on, and was honest and specific about the challenges in treating Pancake's worsening health needs. The whole day and weeks that have followed have been heartbreaking, but having the confidence that we did the right thing for our girl have helped us cope. The entire Full Circle team have been nothing short of amazing. I'm sure they are busy, but still everyone I've interacted with has made us feel listened to, respected, and has worked to get us answers and care quickly. Pancake was a lucky girl to have made friends at Full Circle, and we'll absolutely be bringing out other bunnies in to see the team. I cannot let this year go by without writing a review of this wonderful service. Drs. Frey and Stewart, together with a warm and caring staff, were the people who helped me care for my beloved Westie during the last few years of his life. After 14+ years, they also were of immense comfort when the terrible but inevitable day came when we had to euthanize our little friend earlier this year. One expects great medical care from a dedicated veterinary clinic, which we got in spades, but it was always the gentle compassion that made this clinic so special. We have recently moved from Lake Oswego to Wilsonville but will still drive to LO for pet care when we find our next Westie. read more

This review is long overdue. I love Full Circle Vet and everyone that works there and Dr. Frey is really excellent. She is compassionate, smart and really takes care of my furry baby, Dolce. I would not hesitate at all to give them five stars for being awesome. My dog has extreme allergies and with time she is doing great and is almost at 100 percent. It does take the HF Blue Buffalo vet food and Apoquel daily but, shes a new dog. Thank you so much and Sarah and Carla are awesome as well. read more

Drs. Frye and Stuart have been our family's veterinarians since moving to Lake Oswego in 2005. One of the first services Dr. Frye performed for us was to euthanize our 21 year old cat. We were most impressed with the heartfelt compassion that all members of the clinic expressed that day. The next challenge that we presented was our 10 year old dog blew out a rear knee. Dr. Frye fixed the knee and I had my favorite walking companion for another 6 years. And when the time came to euthanize him, Dr. Stuart and a technician came to our home so our dog could have his last minutes in his own bed, with his family around him. That was indeed a most compassionate and carrying service to provide us all. And now the Drs. have our rescue hound to care for. Nothing challenging with him yet although I am certain that he will provide us all with fun and challenges plenty before his time is up. In short, Drs. Frye and Stuart, as well as their staff, have displayed the highest levels of professionalism, demonstrated in many ways their caring and compassion for our furry friends and for us, and have always had rock solid advice when dealing with those very hard choices about when to let go of our friends. read more
