My two dogs have been seen by the vets at this clinic. My rat terrier mix had a cancerous lump on his back removed in a large operation. Everything went well and Charlie recovered and is back to old tricks. 10 years old and doing great. My Yorkshire Terrier is now 7 months old and has been seen there since he was 11 weeks old, Pickles has received excellent treatment and underwent castration last week. We've been going here for 5+ years. Kind, helpful staff. We've rarely had to wait more than a few minutes, they run on schedule which is appreciated. November 2020: Took our 14 year old family dachshund into Tualatin Park Veterinary because she got severely sick out of know where. She's always been very well looked after and was never around any sick dogs or consumed anything poisonous. She was diagnosed or was experiencing acute renal failure. We were told her numbers were off the chart and the machine couldn't even read them? After a lot of fluids and being left there a couple of times, there was no signs of her getting better, so we decided to pick her up. She wouldn't eat anything. Lost many ponds over just a couple of days. I managed to get a tiny amount of food in her and a little water. She clearly was wasting away and about to die. We called a separate business that comes to your house for euthanasia and made an appointment. The day of her being euthanized we double checked with the veterinarian. They advised us with the euthanasia. 2 hours before the appointment we canceled it because we saw life in her. She loved to chase a red laser pointer for fun once in a while. As sick as she was, she left her bed to go after it. It was a good sign. I went online to see what could be done. I saw one thing that I was hoping could help her eat because nothing was working. I decided to try as a last resort CBD oil for pets. I don't know if it helped, but she did start eating specifically little bites of organic chicken lunch meat out of my hand. I kept feeding it to her and very slowly she seemed to show some signs of getting better. It took a long process of CBD oil and various foods, but she eventually made a full recovery to a certain degree. We still don't know what caused her getting deathly ill. Almost 2 years later and she's doing well. More of a picky eater and not as lively as before, but she's alive and happy. It still bothers me that this Veterinary told us to euthanize her. That there was no chance that she was going to make it. If we had taken their advice, she wouldn't still be here. read more

Our initial meet and greet was great. Dr. Elly Burnett and the staff at the desk seemed genuinely interested and excited to meet our dog. Unfortunately, that was as good as it got for us. At our first appointment Dr. Lynn Bertelsen conducted the exam and called our dog both ugly and stupid. That was enough for me. If you think my dog is ugly and stupid, how am I supposed to believe that you have my dog's best interest at heart? Answer? I can't. On a separate issue, the front access of several stairs is completely unsuited for carrying pets in or for leading old or injured dogs who may have trouble with steps. read more

I switched to this vet after our former beloved clinic had very limited capacity. It's been such a good experience! My two dogs have received great care, and the staff is patient with their goofy personalities. They take their time to answer my questions, and they've been very responsive via phone and email. Leaving Banfield in the DUST I've gotten fed up with the awful treatment at Banfield, so I decided to hop on yelp and prepared mentally for the financial strain of going to a private clinic. I called to make an appointment for my pet's doggy UTI and they got me in same day. Keep in mind: My pitbull lab mix doggo is high anxiety and hates going to the vet, and hates the muzzle so I was expecting the worst. Could not have been more pleasantly surprised. The staff over phone was friendly, and helpful with all of my questions regarding appointment expectations and cost. The clinic was spacious and quiet, although the exam room was a little cramped. The doctor (didn't get his name) was so understanding and professional and also friendly towards my nervous dog. They listened to my concerns and gave my dog a muzzle with a cage and put cheese on it to keep him distracted from him being poked. The office visit including meds was around $125 which was so much better than what I was expecting. Over all a great experience, I felt like my dog actually taken care of and recommend this clinic! read more

The actual veterinarians at this clinic are great. Super friendly and knowledgable. However, the customer service here needs improvement. Our pup has a chronic health issue, and it is very difficult to get information over the phone or via email from the staff here. When I call with questions about my pet's health, the vet techs are always very resistant to passing information on to the vet. The facility is also a bit questionable. They leave all their doors open all the time, so as another review mentioned, you can see right into the operating room at all times. They also have cats just roaming around the building, which seems unprofessional to me and it drives my dog crazy. read more

They also always check to make sure there are no negative effects from the medicine. And, they let me know when new medications become available which might be even better for Archer. I took my female Chihuahua in for surgery. While she was under they cut her nails way too short. I spent 1700.she walked like a seal and when I brought her back in Dr Bergstrom laughed and said her surgery looked botched. He was our Dr for 25 years. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Not even a partial refund nothing. She walked like a seal for 4 years and just died in my arms this week. Her life after surgery was not the same. read more

I cannot, and will not, recommend this vet to anyone. My dog was "treated" for parasites here twice, yet he still tested positive for them. When asked why they chose to use the medication they did (as it's not popular for use in dogs), we were told it was "what they had in stock at the time." Wouldn't it make sense to treat a dog with parasites with the best treatment available and with one that is known to actually work?? If you don't have it, order it! They finally said they'd give us the medication we requested, along with a prescription to have filled. They said both were ready to be picked up that same day. We went to pick them up... And were ONLY given the prescription. We had to call them back AGAIN and leave a voicemail (as they close early on Saturdays) to inquire about getting the medication AGAIN. And our dog had to wait two more days before getting something to help him feel better. We've been doing this for weeks! We've never been more frustrated with a vet and we will begin our search for a new one. Our dog's health is our priority... But it's obviously not any priority to Tualatin Park Veterinary Clinic. read more
