We visited Black Plague brewing for the first time on a saturday (2:45pm). There were only a few people there, and we had our 1yr old golden retriever with us. We weren't expecting there to be food, but to our surprise, they had a food truck out front! We grabbed our beer and sat outside on the patio. We wanted to check the beer selection online, and I noticed you can view the burger menu on their website along with placing your order! This was super helpful, and we ordered the Full Metal Burger (as is) and the Patty Meltallica (as is). I should mention, our doggo ordered the dog patty chopped! The order was done pretty quick too! We tried each other orders (yes, even the dog patty) and it was SO delicious! The patties were perfectly cooked and juicy with a wonderful flavor. Our dog Dutch LOVED his chopped patty too! This was such a happy surprise as we accidently stumbled upon this brewery! (We live 5 min. Away). We will definitely be back, a new spot for us for sure! read more

Was in the mood of a good smash burger and looked on yelp to see the nearest Smashburger next to me and lead me here. When I came, the food truck was located right outside of Black plague brewing. Which was a nice surprise because I was able to enjoy a refreshing kettle sour while I waited for my burger. Taste: Two large smashed patties cheese and bacon what more can you want? This thing was delicious and lived up to the Yelp hype. The burger is a good size, I'm a bigger guy and this burger was able to satisfy my needs. The jalapeños were nice touch, wouldn't I ate it, it didn't seem too hot to me so I wouldn't be too afraid of it if you're super sensitive to chili. Take home, in my opinion the burger is a little overpriced, but seeing how prices are these days it's not out of control unreasonable. Now I don't give out 5 stars very often but burger earned it. We found this place from Yelp on our search for a good burger. Just so no one gets confused, it's not a restaurant. It's a food truck of sorts, right outside Black Plague Brewery. Ordered a beer while we waiting for our burgers. I ended up ordering online. Pick which burger you want and go through and choose your toppings. There was a good selection of topping to choose from, right down to mushrooms. Yum. Wasn't sure how they would find us but I put a note in our order describing where we were sitting. They actually brought our burgers straight to us. The burgers arrived in a basket. Opened face so you can check it out. Both top and bottom buns were toasted perfectly. I added mushrooms and avocado to my burger and had a hard time taking my first bite. And struggled to eat my whole burger. The other burger had bacon on it. Tasty and thick. Looking forward to going back. Just need to be more hungry. We've experienced Full Metal Burgers twice and both times were very good. We experienced it once at their pop up rotation at Pure Project Vista and are headquartered at Black Plague Brewery (O'side) on the regular. We liked their Patty Meltalica so much that that's what we got again. But this time we got our own serving because we were a bit hungrier than last time. It's shareable if you just need a snack and filling enough if you have a bigger appetite. They do have a veggie option as well and sometime I'm going to try that. I personally don't eat a lot of red meat but was having a major craving, this week, for a really good melt and this was the perfect choice. All of their menu items have very creative names. They forgot to put no cheese on my to go order, I called and I got a different restaurant number (I was at their food truck) but the owner or whoever gave me his PERSONAL number to resolve the situation, I was able to resolve it on my own at the food truck and they were apologetic and gave me a refund on top of the new burger. Normally, I avoid food trucks and caterers for one simple reason: they are too expensive. Trucks also seem to have the added problem of not being able to efficiently put out food--in other words, they are way too slow. Now, I have wanted to try Full Metal Burgers forever. They were set up outside Indian Joe Brewing in Vista and pumped out our food in record time so no issues with slow service whatsoever. Super friendly, too. Expensive? I would say so. Worth it? The food was outstanding but pricey but I'm going with yes. The Rest in Pesto Burger (mozzarella, marinara sauce, pesto, tomatoes) was delicious. The nachos (cheese, shredded chicken, guac, sour cream) normally go for $9. That's on the high side. They'll thrown in BBQ sauce, bacon and caramelized onions for an additional $2. We went with the full monty and so our nachos were $11. Is $11 a lot of nachos? Yep. Were they delicious? Absolutely. Interestingly, the cheese was like a big flying saucer disk which covered the chips. No gooey fake cheese sauce on these babies. This is restaurant quality food at restaurant prices. So I got the double bacon burger "So In Heaven" with double bacon. First off I don't think I got double but the meat wasn't seasoned. The "Wild Hog Hot Dog" was more of a tamped dog. You can sit inside the brewery or in the out door seating (really cool vibe, didn't get anything to drink tho) the burgers were amazing!! Decently priced and not skimpy on the meat at all. First time trying these guys out... omheck!! So, so, soooo good!! We split a double Patty Hellfire burger and a half order of the Berzerker Nachos Lemme break it down a little... Burger: 2 .25lb patties.. not greasy, juicy but not overly so. Crunchy, crispy pickle, fresh jalapeño, thick cut bacon cooked just well done enough to not wiggle, but not so well done it was charred. The cheese had just enough heat with the seasonings blend in. Nachos: crisp, light tortilla chips, thick enough to not crumble under the genius topping. They flat grill the shredded chicken WITH the shredded cheese making this incredible chees-kin tooper.. then... THEN they add crumbled bits of that bacon, some awesome grilled onions, and a homemade guac-sauce and BBQ sauce. So many flavors and textures.
