Bootleg drive up. I still see y'all talking. SMH

Yelp! I done came to Full Moon to get 2 moon dogs on lunch, with this bootlegged drive thru, Why I had to wait 15 mins? I was chilled. Then, the guy working the drive thru was in intense conversation with one of the other workers, he never looks up to take my card. No identification, name or nothing, he blessed, cause it was gonna be posted right here. To top it off, he talking so much, he didn't look up to place the receipt and my card in my hand? The receipt went flying up 25th street, thank God I was able to catch my card. Note the stars. Thank God the Moon dogs were as stated, Delicious. Y'all already know, I'll be back, just maybe not to this one. This Food still good.

    I love their slaw

Full Moon BBQ is one of my favorite barbeque restaurants in Birmingham. I have visited the Hoover and Southside restaurants as well as the 280 restaurant. Their cole slaw is to die for. I have even ordered it to share at parties. I also like their baked beans. When I go, I order the sliced pork plate (inside and out). It comes with two sides, a hamburger bun, their chow chow slaw which is delicious and pickles. When you go, you have to try their full moon cookies Half of the cookie is covered in dark chocolate. Even though I love this place, there are some things I wish would change. Sometimes their pork can be fatty and I wish that the southside location was bigger. It is pretty cramped on the inside.

Birmingham is full of great BBQ and Full Moon is high on that list! Love the chow chow, pulled chicken, and half moon cookie. This location does not have smoked wings but those are very tasty. Stoping by for a quick lunch to grab a moon dog is always a good choice. If you get it to go eat quickly as it will get soggy and fall apart pretty quickly or get sauces on the side.

Chicken and rib combo with Mac & cheese and Fried green tomatoes on the side and coconut pie for dessert

YUM. Say what you will about chain restaurants, but Full Moon is so good. My coworker and I each got a pick up order of the chicken and rib combo with mac & cheese, fried green tomatoes, and a slice of coconut pie. It was amazing and served us almost two meals. The chicken was huge and cooked perfectly! The ribs I wanted a little more meat from. The mac and cheese was so salty but in the absolutely delicious way! The fried green tomatoes were so crisp and perfect. The coconut pie was heavenly as well. Can I say that four out of the five things I tried here were my favorites?

Are you kidding me? This place is the real deal! Amazing southern BBQ. The sauce has just the right kick. Highly recommended!

I love BBQ. Full moon has always been one of my favorites. I've eaten at all their Birmingham locations and have been pleased with their consistency across restaurants. My usual order is the sliced pork plate with mixed inside and out. My sides are usually the baked beans and slaw. My other favorite food is the slab of ribs. This location is the original and is an interesting spot. It is small cramped and festooned with sports memorabilia and photographs. It is a nice place to visit because of this atmosphere. My advice is to avoid this place from 11:30am to 1:00pm on weekdays. It gets extremely busy with lines out the door. Which brings me to my second recommendation during the winter get a table on the far back wall as every time the door is opened there is a cold blast of air that comes in and chills the tables around it. On this visit I ordered my usual pork plate and enjoyed it tremendously. However, I was disappointed to find they no longer had Tabasco sauce at this location.

I decided to stop by The Hill Student Center at UAB to grab some lunch in between classes.I chose to eat Full moon and noticed that their menu options are limited, they do not have everything like an off-campus Full Moon would . I only had a 30 minute period between my classes so I needed to pick my food up and go straight back to class to sit down and eat .I got there around 12:07 pm and the line was moving quick but I did not get my food until 12:16 pm. I purchased the Buffalo Fried chicken tenders with a large sweet tea and it cost me $12.54.They also gave me a buzzer to let me know when my food was ready. They did not follow any Covid precautions all of the plastic forks and spoons do not come with plastic coverings.Overall, the food was great with just the right amount of spice, and the sweet tea was perfect ! I will definitely be back .

These are my favorite kind of places in the world. From the moment I walked up and saw the big piles of wood outside I knew I was probably going to like this place. We had an amazing meal here. Every single bite was good. I ate myself damn near sick! I cannot wait to come back!! The day we were there the bartender was waiting on the whole place himself with just someone helping him run food and clear tables. We only had an hour before we had to be at an appointment, so when we sat down at the bar I got concerned that we would not have time to eat here. He was busy. He seemed behind. Thank goodness I was wrong. Once he finally got to us we were decided on our meals. He took our order on his little handheld register thing, grabbed our tasty beverages, and poof, off he went. C had the pulled chicken sandwich with deviled eggs and I had pulled pork, smoked chicken thighs, beans, and a giant pile of pork rinds. Holy shit it was good!!! I didn't pay attention to the fact that my thighs had AL white sauce on them until well after I had ordered. Had I know that, I would not have ordered them. I despise all things that have anything to do with mayonnaise. But.... Had I known, I would have never known. I fucking loved it! I could have eaten 10 of them. There were hands down the best smoked chicken that I have ever had. The pork was bad ass too! I dare say perfect. Beans were great, and the pork rinds side was massive and still warm from the fryer with a killer seasoning on them. There are not enough adjectives to describe this food. I am in love. I cannot wait to get some more of those damn chicken thighs!! '26 - 68

I have worn the same Pepsi hat to every restaurant, gas station, casino, gift shop, and livestock auction from Missouri to Montana. It's basically my formal wear. Folks, that bought more goodwill than any rewards program ever could. I told him I've worn this hat across 47 states and through three separate back injuries. He nodded like he understood the responsibility. I ordered the hot chicken. Now listen. I love chicken. I don't mean normal people love chicken. I mean if chicken ever ran for president, I'd volunteer for the campaign. This chicken was good. Real good. Crispy, juicy, enough heat to remind me I'm alive but not enough to make me start seeing old ex-boyfriends. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because I built it up too much in my head. A restaurant named Eugene's serving chicken to a man named Eugene? That's a lot of pressure for one meal. Still, I cleaned my plate, adjusted my Pepsi hat, and rode off into the sunset like the gay cowboy God intended. Great job fellas.

A menu board sitting in front of the truck had their menu for today. They had BBQ pork sandwiches, pork plates, rib plates, bbq nachos, wings, roasted corn, bbq beans, pineapple lemonade, and more. The service here was fast and friendly. The prices are about what you would expect for bbq. I got the bbq pork sandwich for $9, the rib plate with two sides -roasted corn and beans- for $18, and a pineapple lemonade for $4. Two people for $36. The amount of food you get is very generous. The bbq pork sandwich was pretty basic, just pork and sauce, but it was huge. Pork and sauce poured over the bun to fill the biggest portion of the to go plate. The meat was tender and juicy and is somewhere between pulled and chopped. The bbq sauce isn't overly sweet and has a spicy kick. It's not a hot sauce but if you are sensitive to heat, you may want to choose something else. There is a bit of after burn. My mom couldn't eat it due to an extreme aversion to spice but I had it later for dinner and I enjoyed it very much. The real star for me was the rib plate. These ribs were huge, tender, and moist, with just enough bite to keep them from falling off the bone. They are rubbed with spices and you have the option of bbq sauce, which I got. Get plenty of napkins because you will need them. These are some of the best ribs I've had in a while. I wanted to suck the bones. My sides were roasted corn and baked beans. Both of these had a little kick of heat to them, so once again, if you can't stand spice look out. Both side items were delicious. Let's talk about the pineapple lemonade. When I saw it was $4, I almost skipped it, but am I ever glad I didn't! This lemonade is so refreshing, sweet, and smooth I could have happily finished off a gallon or more. It's very sweet and there is little tang. It was so worth it. If you see this truck, get over there quick, you don't want to miss out.
