I'm glad I happened to witness this situation down below because the original review did not tell the full story! I was sitting at the table next to this group and was able to hear and observe what happened. At one point, I saw the woman who made the "reservation" walk toward the front and say that she was going to speak with the manager. She went up by herself, so I got up and went over to observe because I work in the restaurant industry myself, and I know firsthand that there are always two sides to a situation and we have to take care of our people. From what I overheard, the manager explained the $350 fee to her over the phone. Which she said she had agreed to, She apologized for the confusion and appeared to understand the fee. She even told the manager that she wanted to pay the $350 separately rather than have her friends pay for it. I went back to my table afterward and heard the rest of the conversation. From what I witnessed, the other women in the group were upset about the fee and were encouraging the woman who made the reservation to challenge it, despite her having already acknowledged that she knew about the fee. After the manager walked away, I also overheard them discussing disputing the charge and trying to get the fee waived. From my perspective as someone who was sitting right there and had absolutely no involvement in their reservation or bill, this seemed like much more than a simple misunderstanding about the fee. I normally wouldn't involve myself in another customer's experience, but I felt compelled to comment after seeing this review because I personally witnessed the interaction. The review was also later edited to acknowledge that the restaurant ultimately removed the $350 fee and provided an additional discount, which I think is important context that wasn't included in the original version. I understand that misunderstandings happen. But please remember that there are real people working on the other side of the table. You can question a charge or ask for clarification without being rude or disrespectful to the people trying to help you. Do NOT ever reserve a table here. We reserved a table for 10 people and were told it would be $350 to secure the table assuming that would be reimbursed (to make sure we show up). My friend who made the reservation said that Chris said it would not be part of the bill. We were told after we ate and got the bill that we would not be reimbursed that 350 and it was just added to the bill. Not to mentioned they charged the 20% gratuity on the table "rental" as well. That alone was $70. I don't think I'll ever be back here. To top it off we could have just shown up without making a reservation at all as there were plenty of tables. I'm sorry, but nobody in their right mind would pay $350 just to reserve a table. EDIT: We did make a fuss and were going to dispute the 350 with the credit card after we asked him to reimburse us and separate the 350 and he ended up removing the 350 fee altogether so we are very appreciative. Since I can't reply to a review that was made by Salvador in response to my review, here is edit #2 and response to Salvador. Hi Salvador, very noble of you to come to the restaurants defense. Since you felt the need to insert yourself in our business, I will explain to you how you do not have the whole story and how you are actually wrong in your assessment Even though you think you observed and heard everything, you still did not get the whole story as an "outsider". I would also like to say that I did not talk bad about the staff, the food, or the service. This was specifically about being charged $350 just to reserve a table for dinner. We didn't reserve an entire space or anything and Chris did not make it clear over the phone that this was a non-refundable fee. I think that needs to be the highlight of the message. She had him try to explain it to her several times over the phone and she still left the conversation with the belief that we would be getting that 350 back or she would have never made the reservation (as I'm sure you wouldn't either). My friend who made the reservation is very smart and extremely sweet and I'd also like to note that she said nobody followed her to the counter so you must have been creeping somewhere or are friends with the staff. For the record, she did not "apologize for the confusion". She told him that he was not clear over the phone that this was a non-refundable fee. He kept saying it "would not be applied to our bill" She did ask after the fact for the 350 to be billed separately to her so she could dispute it with her credit card (which I said in my initial edit). Also, he didn't comp us anything. He didn't apply the $35 cash we included to our bill. So...technically...the restaurant came out ahead. And we are still watching to make sure that all of our pending charges are corrected so it's yet to be determined. Oh, and nice dig about old days bringing out the wrong crowd. We weren't there for old days and we are from the local area just celebrating a friend's birthday, which is why we wanted to make sure we had a table in the first place. Just a note: Many restaurants require a reservation hold fee, meaning that if a guest cancels after a specified deadline or fails to show up, the restaurant charges a cancellation or "no-show" fee. In the absence of a written contract or any disclosure from the restaurant stating that the fee paid to reserve our table was non-refundable, we reasonably understood Full of Life Flatbread to be following this common restaurant practice. read more

Came here after being recommended to check this place out by several people. Unfortunately after going I have a mixed reaction. The location is awesome. Very old school farm house western feel. We had a small wait and was sat outside. The outside patio area was awesome. Great area for an event and plenty of seating. Food we had the central coast sausage pizza and an iced tea. Both were very good. Prices were very fair. Definitely can see why it's popular. Now the bad part. Service was definitely not good at this place. Our server had a difficult time connecting with the table. Drinks came out first beer, then had to wait 5 minutes for wine due to there being no glasses, and then 5 minutes later got an iced tea. Never got offered a refill of ice tea through the whole experience. Then food arrived and we had a salad missing. After waiting 10 minutes for the server to check in the table the server seemed surprised about the missing item but then proceeded to go put the item on the computer then was seen laughing and joking about him making a mistake. It was very quite irritating. He then came back and sad kitchen made an error and that he would get it out right away 15ish minutes pass and no salad.... It's a salad. We ended up just cancelling the salad and one in our party got nothing. The server tried to salvage the sale by asking if she wanted it to go. He did apologize but didn't feel very sincere especially since he was seen laughing about it prior. Being a server previously be definitely could have done things better and should have had kitchen expedite the dish, comp the dish and or offer my friend something while she waited for her salad that wasn't put in. Managers take note. There is a training opportunity here with your servers. I will definitely try again do to food quality and value but if service is just as bad as last night I'm done with it. read more

Definitely a must every time we are passing through! I love the change in menu every time. I have yet to find a pizza that did not taste the best. The staff is friendly and always have a smile on their faces. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outside during sunset is lite up with string lights. They also sometimes have someone playing music outside which is nice! I am not a mushroom lover but the mushroom pizza we got was quite literally to die for. We always have such a delightful time at Full of Life. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly, and the whole atmosphere feels warm and welcoming. The menu changes with the seasons, and they use lots of local ingredients, including locally caught crab if you're lucky and locally farmed mushrooms. Everything always feels fresh and thoughtfully prepared. They have a huge patio along with plenty of indoor seating. I also love that you can watch the action around the wood-fired pizza oven which adds so much energy to the space. They offer a great selection of local wines and beers as well. Another great find in this cute little town! We have been down the street from this place many times visiting Bob's Well Bread. Finally decided to change up our option and try something different. Full of Life Flatbread came highly recommended, once again by our lovely neighbor. The inside is rustic, but much more spacious than it looks on the outside once you start going toward the back. They also have a nice outdoor/patio area, perfect for a nice, warm day. They rotate the specials often, so even tho the menu might look the same at first glance, make sure you read them for the new items. We opt for at least 1 special each time, plus 2 different types of flatbread. Their specials never disappoint, but for the flatbread, our favorite so far is the pepperoni since it has much more flavor compares to the others that we have tried. If you sit inside in the back of the restaurant, you can see the flatbreads being prepared and cooked, which is always a plus. The service is quick and casual. I wish I enjoyed the food more. They have wood-fired pizza, made in the dining room. Unfortunately, the gf flatbread did not do it for me - a bit hard and flavorless. But, it was better than no gf flatbread option. The personal 10" pizza was like a big snack. The toppings were fine. I stopped here along my road trip and was happy to find that they had both vegan and gluten free options. They have a standard menu and special menu that changes weekly. There are several seating options, from the front porch to dining room to outdoor garden and patio. It's cool to be eating amidst their growing garden, where they source some of their ingredients! Service was average overall. The first impression was not great but after ordering, it got better. I could tell they are not used to seating solo diners. I've seen such an incredible improvement since the new general manager came in. I honestly haven't seen Flatbread flourish like this in a long time. The staff is attentive, professional, and the restaurant no longer feels understaffed. It's clear that the previous management took the restaurant in the wrong direction, but it's refreshing to see it turning around. They could improve on charging people for what they purchased this bald guy charged me for 4 ranches and an apple juice when I didn't even order 4 ranches just 1. They charged me for the juice when I got 2 glasses of wine. One pizza that I didn't even eat it till I got home. When I explained I didn't even order 4 ranches or apple juice he said "well someone did" which was a poor choice of words. I'd give this place a try but honestly I don't want to over charged for something I didn't order especially in this economy. From the apps to dessert, everything we had was delicious. Chef himself served us a delicious appetizer of freshly fried chips with what I can only describe as a house made ranch dip with caviar. Delicious. Of course their in house wood burning brick oven is why you would come. Their flat bread pizzas were all delicious. My personal favorite was the Coachella valley dates and bacon flatbread. The flatbread here seems more like pizza, but, whatever it is, it's really good! We shared the farmers market salad and the pepperoni flatbread with fennel sausage added. It was plenty of food for both of us, even though we ate every single bite! The crust was yummy, and the balance of meat and cheese was perfect. So good. I want some right now. The wine was just OK, but the food made up for it. I think what they need to work on is managing how busy it is. Hands down my favorite place in this area. The ambience is very nice, and the bar is awesome! Plan to wait around for a bit to get into the main eating area and it is well worth it . He started out with a small salad and the taste was delicious. The French onion soup is served in mortar bowl and stays warm for the entire time you eat it! Our main course was a delicious pizza, of which my son loved! He did know this knocked his number 1 Pizza place and this place took the trophy. Super cute building in a cute town. The sourdough bread is amazing!!! Chewy and soft and crispy. For some reason the cheese is better than most other mozzarella pizzas. I don't know where they get their cheese. But I want to buy this cheese and buy their sourdough. The pepperoni is not oily and way better than other pepperoni I've had so far. I've been a long time supporter, dating back to around a decade ago. Tonight, I tried to dine as a party of one and was offered the bar. There was a flickering light bulb which was irritating my vision, so I said I would go ahead and wait for a table. I was quoted 25-30 minutes and added to the wait list. Fast forward 1 hour and 15 minutes later, and I received a text from the general manager, Alejandro, who said, "Hi, this is Alejandro the GM, we Can accommodate a party of 1 anywhere in our bar area or the bar rail but we will need to keep our dining room options open for larger parties. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding!" So essentially, even though I was promised an indoor table and very patiently waited in line, I was denied a table because of being a party of one. I spent 7 years in restaurants and never did this to anyone. Especially, I would never force a solo diner to sit somewhere with flickering lights, which the bartender said has been flickering for a year without being fixed. This is a problem for everyone, including people with epilepsy. Needless to say, after many years of supporting this restaurant, I won't be back. I spent my $150 tab down the street at Pico and had a delicious meal. I'll also make sure to let my friends know to avoid this place. I'm sure they won't notice the dip in revenue, but we will spend our dollars elsewhere moving forward. read more

My papa has been wanting to go here for over a month, we were finally able to go this past weekend and it did not disappoint. Definitely will be going back service was friendly, atmosphere is welcoming in a old school cowboy kind of way, the custom menu covers are so wholesome too. The flat bread (pizzaz) were so delicious the crust fluffy and crunchy im guessing thats due to the wood fire oven. Took a quick trip to Solvang and wanted to try an interesting place for dinner. It's definitely out of the way... along what you might call the "main drag" of Los Alamos. Walk inside and you're at the bar and it just screams personality and local flavor. Then you are taken back to the restaurant area and seated in a big room that includes the kitchen and this massive wood fire pizza oven that is the star of the show. We shared a Caesar salad and it was fantastic. You could just taste the fresh locally sourced ingredients. The cheese was amazing and so was the cheese. They call the pizzas flatbreads. We both ordered small ones and they are more than enough. I had the mushroom and onion and my always stunning date had the pepperoni and peppers. Both were amazing. The crust was fantastic. I tried the house made lemonade and it was just the right amount of sweet. Their signature dessert is a brownie topped with marshmallow the is put in the pizza oven for Just a minute and then a scoop of ice cream is added but I was just too full so will order it next time. And yes there will be a next time! Servers are very efficient and friendly and there is parking along the street. Was pretty busy on a recent Saturday night in October but outside had no wait so we grabbed a table for two next to a heat lamp. They have some gourmet items on the weekends like the clams, mussels in a spiny lobster broth which was excellent. Of course we got a couple of flatbreads (which is really thin crust pizza) as it's round. We tried two -- the mushroom, onion, and leek one -- and the pepperoni. Got the smaller size as we were two people -- but one could've fed us both. That large must be HUGE! Service by the lovely Anastasia was on point and the place is doggie friendly too (even the inside I was told -- although we sat outside). Lot's of wine to choose from, draft beer, and bottles -- and that patio is quite spacious with lots of tables, chairs, couches -- they must do well on nice, weekend days. I really am a bit reluctant to write this review. At the outset let me say the FOOD was great. The service, not so much. Having said that I truly believe that the gaps in service were more of a manegment issue than the servier we had. He did not seem to know the menu, took our drink order but my husband had search him out halfway throught our pizzas to have him go get the drinks, he came to the table with our pizzas promptly but never again asked if we needed anything ( I found some red peppers on the wait station and brought to our table), we had to ask for the check. Etc, Etc. So, I feel this person was never educated as to the expectations the restaurant has for their servers. As I said I feel the management was the real issue here. read more

I am pretty stingy with my five star ratings. Let me explain the reasons that I really like this place. Atmosphere is enjoyably casual. The menu is very creative. There might be some confusion between a flatbread and a pizza. This kind of crosses over between the two. They have a huge, in fact, the biggest I've ever seen, wood-burning oven. They go to a lot of creativity on the menu with flatbread and what easily would pass us pizza if it wasn't crosscut. While I like creativity, it has to work and the two that we got were drastically different and both very different in a positive way from anything we had had before. We had an interesting flatbread, called a shaman bread. Oddly, it had pistachio nuts on it, which perfectly complimented everything on it. We also had a large pepperoni and peppers which was really tasty. Pricing is always an important issue for me and I thought that they were very much in line. Service was excellent and everybody that worked there seem to be very happy to be there. I can't believe with all the time I've spent in Central Coast. I have never been to Los Alamos and will have to return. One more thing....how did we choose this place when we were far up in Santa Maria? We experienced their portable kitchen at the Santa Barbara County Vintners harvest Festival and remembered them from that. Keep up the best tasty PR! read more

My mother and I came to Full of Life Flatbread to meet up some of her coworkers for dinner! We had a rather large group, without a reservation, so we waited for a while near the front of the restaurant for a table. We were able to order some beers from the bar while waiting so between the drinks and chit chat, the wait flew by! We were brought to our table near the back. Soon after settling in, the waiter came by to take our order. My mom and I opted to split a Cauldron Tomato Sauce Flatbread. Even though we were a rather large group our order came out quite fast! The flatbread was sooooo good. It had a nice bite on the crust, a perfect ratio of dough to sauce to cheese, and was super delicious. My mom and I wiped out most of the pizza, only having one or two pieces left. For dessert, we already knew what we wanted since we heard a couple of coworkers talking about "The Beast". It's basically a brownie sundae with toasted marshmallow. It came out and we dug in right away. It was soooo good! It sounds like it could be a lot but even my mom was loving it, and she tends to have a bit of a threshold when it comes to sweets. i had such a great experience here! driving from slo and i found here on yelp and im so glad i tried it. the service was amazing and its so cute inside. it's just such a great ambiance. it was cold so we sat inside which was so cool being right next to the pizza oven. but if we come back i definitely want to try sitting outside, i peeked at the garden and it's so pretty. the pizza is so good, the dough made with all organic sourdough. We stopped at Full of Life Flatbread. Some patrons mentioned the mushroom flatbread was amazing, so after I ordered an IPA, I ordered the mushroom and garlic pizza and my brother-in-law ordered the sausage one. they were both great. I liked the sausage better than the mushroom, but my brother-in-law preferred the mushroom. They were spectacular and the service was fun and the bartender was a hoot.
