I find the toppings generous (i get mushroom/onion), my husband says the pepperoni is good, not mind blowing. Vegetarian friendly. Wow! So yummy! This was a massive slice of pizza. I was greeted when I entered the shop. It wasn't super busy around 2pm when I hopped off the 101. They had classic rock playing in the background. It was a nice open dining area with large windows as you can see. They had a small arcade area to the left of the entrance. I would stop by again if I found myself near/in Buellton or heading up the 101! I ended up ditching the fork and knife bc I'm a heathen and was tired from driving. Ah, good times. read more

We were so pleased to have stumbled upon this awesome little place while traveling! You walk on up to order from the vast menu, and food is brought out to you. For us, we had the privilege of being helped by Gino himself. You can tell the care and knowledge someone has when it is their place, and customer service is priority. He answered many questions, made modifications as requested, and did it all with a smile. We enjoyed kid's meals, chicken parmesan, garlic bread, salads, and pizza. Our plates were wiped clean! Everything tasted so fresh, and was plated with care. The restaurant seating area is spacious, with tables and chairs, and many facing out a window. There is a fun aracde gaming area, and we definitely loved it! The vibes totally reminded me of our local pizzeria from my childhood. Our family was so content after eating, and couldn't wait to call other family members back home to tell them about it. When we are in this area for future trips, this will be a "must stop" for us. What a great lil Italian pizza restaurant. Marcelle helped us out as it was close to closing time but took our order and was a terrific host. We took the pizza back to our campsite and I also ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Excellent pie with fresh quality ingredients. Hearty meatballs with a quality marinara sauce. Went to Gino's for lunch. First time here and loved the space. The owner was very nice and explained the lunch specials. I ordered the chicken parmesan lunch special which is a half chicken parm over spaghetti with salad and a drink. The portion size was ample and delicious! After my meal I played their pinball machine which was Jurassic Park. So much fun. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Buellton, CA. read more

Came up to Santa Barbara county for some business. Stayed in Buellton and needed a place for dinner. Thankfully I found Gino's, what a great little Family spot. It is located off the Ave of the Flags in the downtown area, the are is a throw back to a simpler time, such a cute street. Reminds me of where I grew up in the Midwest. The staff here is very friendly, I spoke to the owner (I believe) for a bit and he was telling me the story behind the 13 stripes wine they have there. This is a local winery that is connected to the military and proceeds from the sales support brave service men and women who serve or served. Great cause. Now to the food, fist let me say, bring your appetite, I ordered an individual Spicy Mexican pizza, it was bigger than most other places medium pizza. I was impressed with the value for the money for sure and was not expecting so much food. I ordered a side salad as well, it was wayyy too much, but happy surprise. Left overs are always great in my book. The pizza itself was amazing, Chorizo, Italian sausage, cilantro, onions, tomato. There was a bit of spice to the meats, but not overwhelming, I actually would have liked it to be spicier, but still excellent. The crust was thick, edges were crisp and fluffy, great flavor to the crust. The salad had a lot of mozzarella on top, tomato and lettuce. Simple house salad, which I love. Their homemade house Italian dressing set it off for me. They also have a number of old school arcade games, growing up in the 80's and my parents owning an arcade, it really brings back great memories. OK, I will say the portion sizes are great and they offer you the ability to have small medium large, which is awesome. Calzone was delicious and the chicken Parm itself was delicious. The sauce, however, here is made a lot different than most Italian places. It's made with pepper and it definitely makes the taste of the sauce a little different . For most it may not be bad, but for me and my family, the taste is different enough for me to not really like it. It could be they used different tomatoes as well in making their sauce. We were too lazy to go get dinner so we decided to get some pizza. We were going to order through DoorDash but had some questions so called the restaurant. Turns out they delivered for a small fee so we ended up ordering from them. We saved a few bucks because we didn't have to pay the up charge on food prices and service fee on DoorDash, plus this business gets to keep all of their money. The veggie pizza was great. I loved it. My hubby thought there was a bit too much olives so I told him to just pick some off lol. Crust was still nice and chewy despite delivery. We also got our food in less than 30 mins. The Caesar salad had good flavor but there was way too much dressing. I didn't realized it was going to come with dressing on it since it was delivery. Best part was leftover pizza the next day. Spent a few nights in Buellton as our base camp to explore Santa Barbara and a few nearby beaches. On the last night of our stay, we decided to try Gino's for dinner before heading home the next day -- and man, I'm so glad we did. There's plenty of parking out front, which is always a plus. The restaurant itself is simple but incredibly warm and welcoming. As soon as you walk in, it feels like a nostalgic trip back to your favorite hometown pizzeria. They've got a few tables, some arcade machines, and even a pinball machine, which adds to the charm. Everyone -- from the cashier to the server to the busboy -- was genuinely friendly and made us feel right at home. We ordered the Gino Special and a Hawaiian pizza. First off, they go heavy on the toppings (which I love). The crust was solid and perfectly crunchy -- not soggy at all -- and the cheese pull was unreal. I'm so glad we didn't leave town without trying this place. It was truly a great way to close out a great trip. We ordered a Margherita pizza (which unfortunately wasn't pictured because we got it to go), and my boyfriend went with the Chicken Parmigiana. He found the Chicken Parmigiana to be just okay and felt it didn't quite meet his expectations. I opted for the Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. While the pasta itself was decent, I noticed it lacked flavor and had to add salt and pepper to enhance the taste. We both agreed that the quality of the chicken could have been better. On a positive note, the service was swift, and I appreciated the generous salad portion, which was enough for both of us. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, but I was disappointed that there were no visible bathrooms for customers. Overall, while there were some highlights, particularly the quick service and salad portion, the main dishes fell a bit short for us. Not a fan! They sure talk a good talk on their website, raviolis were undercooked. Meatballs were way underseasoned tasted zero garlic no basil etc. Don't waste your money on this joint! Their pizza crust is 2 to 3 times thick of what it should be. Go back east and get trained, then bring those findings back and make some major improvements. read more

My wife and I were in SOLVANG, and the hotel recommended GINO'S for the best pizza in the area! We went, and immediately, I had a feeling that it would not be a good experience. The staff did not give a sense of professionalism, or that they were happy to serve. We ordered the large "meat lovers" pizza and a side of wings! $45.00 for the order! Nothing about it was worth that price! The pizza was sub-par at best, with a terrible, dry crust, not a lot of meat - A few pepperonis, a bit of sausage, and some kind of ham, on bland cheese and sauce! The wings were clearly from a bag of microwave "hot wings", from the supermarket, which were not microwaved long enough to be called DONE! If that was the best in the area, then the SANTA YNEZ VALLEY, in California, is hurting for pizza! The topper was in the fact that we drove, 3 miles from the hotel in Solvang, to get there, and then they had a card payment machine, asking for a "tip"! There was no tip given! If I'm driving to pick it up, I don't bring a "tip"! I suspect some of the positive reviews on YELP, are from close friends and family of the owners, trying to "beef up" GINO'S reputation! Bbq pizza is one of my favorite kinds of pizza and they knocked it out of the park!
