Nella is really a delight. It was our first time trying it after hearing rave reviews (especially about their bread). I'm not one who typically would order the bread and butter since it seems like a waste, but everyone talks about it so we had to try. I can confirm the bread & butter is worth the order, sooooo good! We also were told about their ribeye, and got worried when we didn't see it on the menu. But, it was on their specials. Not sure if they have it all the time, but I highly recommend. Mushrooms on top are so tasty as well as the potatoes they come with. We also ordered the Truffle Pizza which was another special, really good as well. Even better cold the next day... One random note is the restaurant has a funky cheese smell... that was kinda annoying lol. Besides that issue, I will add that service is also great. I would return next time we're in the area.

Whenever I travel to the CA Central Coast, a side trip to Nella in Los Olivos is a must do. Nella offers delicious, modern, authentic Italian cuisine, great craft cocktails, friendly service and a lovely ambiance with a variety of indoor and outdoor seating options.

We had , bread and butter ($9, but was delicious) Nona Nella meat balls, burrata salad, pinza Bianca, steak and frites and affogato. All the food was simple and very good. Just the dessert wasn't what we expected, kind of disappointed after very nice and good meal. Normal portion, fresh and quality ingredients, good taste. A little pricey but I think the place, the area , service and good food justified pay a little more. The service was excellent and efficient specially the busser and adult Mexican man. He was very nice, polite and super friendly we enjoyed talking to him. The ambience is very nice , elegant and delicate. It's a place that I will return without thinking. I hope if you are in the area , give them a chance .

Classic, unpretentious, high quality restaurant. We had dinner at Nella and absolutely loved our experience. The dining room was well appointed and lively, without being too loud. The service was welcoming and friendly from start to finish. And, the food was excellent! We had the beef carpaccio and one of their classic pinsas (the four cheese) to start, the duck legs and filet mignon for entrees, and the olive oil cake for dessert. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious! I can't recommend Nella enough if you're staying in or passing through Los Olivos.

Nella Kitchen offers world-class service and incredibly delicious food. We drove over an hour to get there, but we'd happily return again and again. If you're a bread lover, prepare to be amazed by their French baguette with salted Bordier butter. It's absolutely delicious and pairs perfectly with Nonna Nella Meatballs. The star of the show is their Pinsa! They're perfectly crunchy and incredibly flavorful. We devoured their Black Truffle Pinsa, but I could have easily ordered the Pinsa and been very satisfied. It makes for an amazing appetizer for 2-4 people. Other pinsas on the menu include Margherita, Bianca, Caponata, Guanciale & Squash, Carciofi, and Sausage & Rapini. For dessert, highly recommend their profiteroles! They're a very light and delicious cream puff with Chantilly and dark chocolate.

This restaurant has the feel, the food and the service of a Michelin restaurant. Every single thing on their menu is absolutely amazing. You can come here by yourself, with a friend, on a date with family or even bring the kids. Everything is fresh. I asked for French baguette, and they kindly request requested that I wait a few minutes as they were going to make it fresh for me. This is an absolute treat and a must visit... An ideally a place you go to over and over again. *** bathrooms are extremely clean and well-maintained***

We were so impressed with the service and food here that we want to go to solvang just for this restaurant! Ambiance of this restaurant is great, nice date night spot or social gathering. We got their olives, Caesar salad, mussels and a pinsa. We never had a pinsa before and we were so curious about it and it was so so good! It was perfectly cooked! Mussels were a bit small but the broth was good. Overall it's a great restaurant in the area. A must go to spot!

We had a lovely dinner at Nella which is located in the Fess Parker Inn. The "pinsa", which is a Roman style pizza with a crust made with a combination of rice, wheat, and soy flour, was the standout. The crust is so light and crispy yet can withstand the weight of the sauce and toppings. The tomato, feta and mozzarella salad was also fresh and delicious. The two items are just enough to share between 2 people. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a fireplace in the main dining area. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

While on a daytrip in Los Olivos our friends and us came here for lunch. What a wonderful lunch we had. The food here was exceptional. Everything we ordered was so fresh and flavorful. We even had dessert and loved every bite. Great customer service specially from our waiter. He was great. The ambiance here is lovely. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. Love it here. Will be back again for sure.

We went after our wine and dine at Roblar to enjoy some iced coffee and sweets. Even though they don't serve iced coffee which we realized after getting seated, the barista was nice enough to make an exception and make iced coffee for us. We got their profiteroles and affogato. Everything tasted amazing. Our serves was Stephanie and she provided an excellent service. Must try if you're in the area.

Our new favorite restaurant in the area! Beautiful, cozy place! Delicious, well executed food! Located in such a cute little area! Thanks to the Red Dining Book, we decided to give this place a try to use the promotion from the book for up to $30 off an entree when purchase 2. We made reservation on Open Table, and even tho we arrived about 20mins late, they were very understanding and sat us right away. It was a weekday and surprisingly, the restaurant got filled quickly for dinner. We opted for the scallop crudo for appetizers. It was the best crudo we have had. The flavors were complex but complemented the whole dish so well. For entrees we went with the pizza, filet mignon, and the branzino. The pizza was excellent, but it was more like flatbread than pizza. The filet mignon and branzino were the best ones I have had. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The branzino was so fresh and well marinated at the same time. We look forward to coming back here again soon to try their specials!

Tucked into the heart of Los Olivos, Nella Kitchen & Bar feels like the kind of place wine country was always meant to have: modern but warm, calm but buzzing with good energy, the sort of restaurant where you can slide in for a long lunch and accidentally start planning your next celebration before the check even hits the table. We came in for lunch and left already talking about when we'd be back. The room has this relaxed, contemporary elegance--clean lines, soft tones, an inviting openness that makes you feel like you're exactly where you're supposed to be. It's stylish without ever feeling stiff, the kind of space where a glass of wine and a deep breath seem to arrive at the same time. The food starts strong and never lets up. The burrata was the kind of simple, thoughtful dish that tells you the kitchen really cares. Creamy, lush burrata nestled into a bed of finely chopped cabbage, bright avocado, a drizzle of good olive oil, and a whisper of pepper. The cabbage brought this tight, focused crunch--more character than your standard greens--so every bite felt balanced and intentional. It wasn't just "cheese on a plate"; it was composed, layered, and quietly confident. And then there was the star: the Roman pinsa. This isn't your everyday pizza. Puffy yet delicate, it felt like biting into a cloud with structure. Ours came topped with sausage, mushrooms, and shaved black truffle--a combination that somehow managed to be both decadent and restrained. The crust had that perfect contrast: crisp on the outside, airy inside, with just enough chew to carry all that flavor without ever feeling heavy. Parmesan stitched everything together. It's the kind of dish you order "for the table" and then silently hope nobody wants too many slices. The Scotch egg brought its own charm--a crisp breadcrumb shell giving way to a tender, juicy egg, set over a light cream that tied the richness together. It was classic in spirit, but polished in execution, like a pub favorite that decided to dress up for wine country. From there, the kitchen just kept proving itself. The spinach and shallot pasta was rich without being cloying, creamy and dense in the best way, with pasta that had exactly the right amount of chew. The surprise was the sauce: a layer of tomato beneath the pesto, giving the dish both depth and clarity. Instead of a heavy, overly creamy pesto, you get this clean, direct basil note wrapped around a gentle, bright tomato base. It's the kind of detail you only notice when someone has really thought it through. The fusilli bolognese was classic comfort dialed up--a sauce that clung to every spiral, full of slow-cooked flavor, the kind of bowl that makes talking at the table pause for a few minutes. Even the bread wasn't an afterthought: served hot, with that just-baked aroma that makes you instantly glad you didn't say no to carbs. The bar holds its own alongside the kitchen. The old fashioned made with a special Elijah Craig selection felt tailored, not generic--balanced, smooth, and clearly crafted by someone who respects the classics but still puts their stamp on them. It fit the room: elegant, a little indulgent, and exactly right for the moment. What really brings Nella to life, though, is the people. Dan, the manager and host, sets the tone from the front door--warm, grounded, and genuinely welcoming, the kind of leader who makes you feel like you've been invited into his home rather than just seated at his restaurant. And then there's Forrest, our server. He's exactly the kind of person you hope to get in a place like this: knowledgeable without being showy, easygoing yet precise. He knows his wines, his spirits, and his food, but shares that knowledge like conversation, not a lecture. He reads the table well--present when you need him, giving space when you don't. There's an ease to the way he moves through the experience that makes you feel taken care of without ever feeling managed. He's the kind of server you remember by name and ask for next time. All together, Nella feels like a modern wine country living room--great food, dialed-in drinks, thoughtful design, and a team that clearly takes pride in what they do. Lunch here wasn't just a meal; it was a soft landing in the middle of the day, the kind of experience that lingers. We'll be back--probably tomorrow.

The restaurant decor is nice, though nothing special, with a sizeable patio for outdoor dining. We started with a couple of local wines by the glass. The wine list here is heavily biased towards local wines as one would expect from a wine country restaurant. Kudos for the local focus! The menu here is wine country, farm-to-table and the restaurant even has their own organic farm a short distance away where they source ingredients. For dinner we started with the beet salad special served over a citrus yogurt. For main courses we had the grilled rack of lamb and a quinoa bowl with salmon. Every dish was expertly prepared and delicious. The fruits and veggies were exceptionally fresh being sourced directly. David was our server and coincidentally was our server at a wine tasting earlier in the day. His service and that from the supporting team were professional and friendly. I give this restaurant my highest recommendation!

The positive first: walking in everybody was super friendly and greeted us with a smile, and sat us down right away on the patio since we had our dog with us. We ordered the baked brie appetizer and two glasses of red wine. My husband had the Austin Hope Cab and I had a red blend. I don't remember the brand name. It was a little bit expensive for a glass of wine. I wanna say around $25 but we both were in the mood for a good wine and wanted to treat ourselves. The baked Brie was delicious. Negative: the fish and chips and the service. I was so excited to see fish and chips on the menu because it was halibut. I'm used to cod in fish and chips so of course I had to order since I am a huge halibut lover. The table next to us also said what an amazing meal that was and ordered one to go. We received our fish and chips from not our server and the person dropped the meal and left without asking us if we needed anything. My husband and I looked at the fish and chips and immediately started laughing. It looked like little fish nuggets as opposed to fish! I kind of thought we were being punked. We waited and waited for the server to come by or a manager or some thing and could not get anybody to come talk to us. It took 14 minutes for her to finally come tap on our table and ask if everything was OK. We told her it was not OK and to look at the size of the fish and she said she would go tell the kitchen and asked if we wanted to remake it. At that point, we weren't even hungry anymore. We were just kind of annoyed at the entire situation. She comes back out a few minutes later and says we're going to take it off of your bill. We don't see her for a while and then the manager comes over and says we took it off of your bill. He didn't ask if there's any way to make it right he just said OK anyways and walked away at the end. Being in the restaurant industry for many years, I thought this was pretty offensive. If I were him, I probably would have made another one right away or offered something they are known for like their pizza. So overall, I wouldn't be back. I think there's many other restaurants around there and to be treated like that after how we were served....no thank you!

The inn leans into the old west aesthetic, but the tavern is just elegant and attractive, with leather furniture, a high vaulted ceiling, and a lot of windows. It was pleasantly bustling on a Friday night, with what seemed like a mix of hotel guests and other visitors. Los Olivos has a population that hovers around 1,000, so this restaurant, like the stagecoach stop, is there to serve travelers. Accordingly, service was first class. There was a full bar with elaborate cocktails and plenty of wine from the area. We ordered two rounds of cocktails, as we planned to drink wine all weekend, and they were all very good. The Vaquero Campfire was a refreshing mezcal drink with pink peppercorn, honey, and charred grapefruit. The Cigars & Horses was a boozy mix of bourbon, yellow chartreuse, and smoked cinnamon. Los Rancheros Vistadores was a pleasantly bitter tequila cocktail, with reposado, amaro, Aperol, and orange olive oil. And the Pinochle Punch was a smooth blend of milk-clarified rye, cognac, and orange. We ordered wines by the glass to go with our entrees, and these were both lovely, too. The Sandlands Lodi Red Table Wine and the Racines Mattei's Cuvée, a Chardonnay that must have some connection to Mattei's Tavern. The food was delicious. We started with a half dozen oysters with mignonette and lemon and Gin's tuna carpaccio, topped with scallion, radish, ginger dressing, and cold-pressed California olive oil. Then we had Mattei's house focaccia, served with cultured butter and herb oil, and the country pâté, with cherry, tarragon, and sourdough. The entrées were both excellent. The Channel Islands rockfish was beautifully cooked, served in a vibrant tomatillo sauce with hoja santa, with sides of roti, grilled avocado, and grilled lime. The Colorado lamb was tender and juicy with a nice spiced crust. It came with couscous, vadouvan, mint yogurt, onion, and dates. For dessert, we shared the affogato: vanilla ice cream, Handlebar espresso. Hard to think of a better way to wind down a big meal. We charged dinner to the room and got $100 through a hotel promotion. This covered some of our drinks. The Tavern is not a cheap restaurant, but it is a great one, well worth checking out on your visit to Los Olivos.

We had specifically chosen this restaurant because we were traveling with our dog and understood that their outdoor seating area was dog-friendly. We were told that the outdoor patio was closed for a private event. Since we had made our reservation more than a week in advance, it would have been helpful if the restaurant had notified us ahead of time so we could have made other arrangements. Unfortunately, we ended up having to leave our dog back at the hotel. To their credit, the hostess did her best to accommodate us and found us a table in the bar area near the fireplace. However, the location wasn't ideal for an anniversary dinner. Guests frequently walked and stood in front of the fireplace directly in front of our table, and at one point other patrons even sat down at our table, making what was supposed to be a romantic evening feel awkward and disrupted. The food itself was excellent, and we genuinely enjoyed our meal. Had it not been for the reservation mix-up and the restaurant's lack of proactive communication regarding the patio closure, this would likely have been a much higher-rated experience. Unfortunately, the service and overall experience fell short of what we expected for such a special occasion.

For my first visit, I am now a fan. The ambiance is nice and comfortable, with lots of natural light. I was quickly seated by a large window that looked out onto an area with tables for a bakery next door. Ideas for dessert? The menu is varied enough for folks, and I focused on the Gold Coast Grilled Cheese sandwich (sharp cheddar, gruyere, mozzarella, caramelized onions, parmesan crisp, The Baker's Table pain au levain vegetarian) with a choice of sides. I had also noticed a new offering, a creamy Fennel soup with local olive oil, and toasted almonds. I choose a cup of that soup for a side. The sandwich and soup came together, and the soup was steamy hot - literally! The sandwich has a side served up with grilled parmesan cheese, and the opposite side (or flip side, as I want to say) has the traditional grilled look. I have photos of both sides here. The soup was indeed creamy, and at one point I was trying to figure out how to answer someone who asks, "What does it taste like?" And I still don't have an answer. However, it does have a slight herbal licorice taste, but not at all overwhelming, and if you don't eat licorice, you may notice it but not be able to place it. However, if you don't like licorice, I think you would still enjoy this soup, as the flavor is very subtle. It was extremely delicious. The sandwich, with the parmesan crisp and mixed cheeses, was very cheesy, and I loved that. Overall, the food was outstanding and the service wonderful, with water refills on cue and quick service for ordering and closing out the bill. My server, Maggie, was top notch - thank you! We started with Bloody Marys, which were insanely good. They were out of the Verde, but the bartender improvised and made us something even better. It came with what might be the best bacon I've ever had, which is a bold claim but I stand by it. He even came out to check on us and talk through what he was testing. We loved them. We ordered the deviled eggs with trout roe, which were to die for. Highly recommend. Then we split the breakfast sandwich. They divided it in the kitchen and brought it out with two side salads, which is always such a nice touch. Service was incredible, the atmosphere was lovely, and the whole thing felt a little indulgent in the best way. Exactly what you want on a beautiful spring day in Santa Ynez. Would absolutely go back.

The skin was crispy but the meat was tender, and soaked with the broth that's drenched right at your table, the combination was mind-bogglingly good. Service was superb. The waiter even offered my dog a bowl of water. The outdoor patio seating was lovely, especially on a warm December evening in California. Experience an elevated dining nirvana here at Victor.

Savory and one of the best scones I've ever had! Didn't even need the sweet butter that came with it. We had the crab beignets for an appetizer. Very nice and light, fresh crab just missing a some salt. My fiancé ordered the burger with their version of fries and I had the scallops pasta. My fresh scallops were perfectly seared and paired with the beautifully blanched veggies and pasta. All fantastic, just missing a little salt. Burger was really well made and so were their fries. Service was ok, a little hands off for such a slow night. Well decorated inside and out with lots of plants. The whole place is dreamy!

Our party was warmly greeted upon arrival and made to feel completely at home throughout the evening. The cuisine was very good, and the overall dining experience was thoughtfully executed. One minor note would be that one of the pasta dishes could have been drained slightly more prior to plating. Otherwise, the meal was excellent. I would gladly recommend this restaurant to others seeking a warm, inviting atmosphere paired with attentive service and excellent food.

The filet was phenomenal -- honestly one of the top three filets I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive, and the Mud Pie for dessert was absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way -- rich, indulgent, and unforgettable. We went on Sunday night, the day after Valentine's Day, and the place was packed (good thing they take reservations). We'd had an unfortunate experience the night before at a different local restaurant, but despite the crowd, we were seated right away at a great table. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance: relaxed but upscale, with a retro country steakhouse vibe that feels both classic and comfortable. The staff was outstanding -- attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. We also enjoyed a fantastic local cab from Brave & Maiden that paired beautifully with the steak. From start to finish, it was a perfect evening. This place absolutely lives up to its reputation.
