Really cool place on a really charming street in downtown Hinsdale. We really enjoyed our evening out at Fuller last night. I think the service was also good. Our waitress checked on us numerous times and kept things going. The food is where I have to say, this place was OK. There are a lot of vegetarian options, so that is a great start for me and my crew. Pizza, black bean burgers, etc. I think the nachos were pretty decent. One main ingredient I'd say they were missing was beans, guac, or even salsa. I guess we could have asked for some, but we didn't. Then we had a hummus platter, which came with a bunch of dipping veggies and some pita bread. Nicely presented, and the hummus was fine. The margarita pizza was decent as well. Crispy and all. And finally, the black bean burger, which we substituted in for the El Diablo burger. It was fine. We didn't leave any room for dessert as all of the above was already a LOT. We stopped in at Fuller House for the first time after visiting the Morton Arboretum lights. Will it's not right next door to the arboretum, it is close-ish. We checked in on the yelp wait list (works great btw!) and when we got there, we were seated immediately. We selected an upstairs seat (vs the cold front tented area) - and it was the right choice. It is so cozy inside and upstairs you can get a nice view of the bar and decorations for the holidays. Service was really friendly and accommodating - we started with cheese curds (delicious and not too greasy) to keep everyone managing their hunger from our outside walk before the food came. This spot is very kid friendly - kids meals or plenty of menu items would work for most children. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich - and I love these typically - but this one was only ok. Not enough sauce or blue cheese. Good flavor though. On the other hand - everyone else devoured their food. I tried the special burger - which was a thanksgiving theme - so interesting and actually delicious! Good wine list and the menu is varied without being overwhelming. Price-wise - not cheap but reasonable for portion sizes, service and mostly amazing food. read more

My fiance and I went here recently for a dinner out, and later learned it's one of his sister's favorite restaurants in the area! Accessibility notes: we were seated upstairs so as not to be at a high top, which meant climbing stairs, but I made it. Our waitress was very friendly and kept a good eye on us. Anytime there's a soft pretzel on the menu we're getting it! And it was good. This one came with three dips: a small cast iron skillet of pimento cheese, green Chile queso (my favorite), and honey mustard (maybe my second favorite? I'm slowly becoming a mustard fan.) For dinner, he got the Derby Winner burger and I had the southwest steak bowl, and we were both happy. We got the cookie skillet for dessert and demolished it. Just a couple of words for this place, amazing food. There hasn't been a time I came here that I didn't enjoy the food. The must haves are the nachos, buffalo cauliflower bites, and the west coast burger. I don't know if they make their own buffalo sauce, but you can put that on anything, it's so good. Their salads are ok. My favorite time to come is when you can sit outside. Inside is a little dark and it's mainly a pub. They do have upstairs seating, but again, I love coming to eat outside. We also do pickup sometimes. My husband just loves their west coast burger. Overall, a great place for good food. read more

Drink Review! My husband and I stopped into Fuller House for a pre-dinner drink. I have been to their sister location many of times but Fuller House is the original! I love the rustic inside to play off their whiskey theme. They have a large bar with plenty of seating, tables downstairs & upstairs, as well as outdoor seating in front. We ordered the FH Old Fashioned and the Thirst Trap (August drink feature). The Old Fashioned was spirit forward but smooth. The Thirst Trap was bright and refreshing; I was also happy that it wasn't too tart. The bartender did a great job checkin in on us, making small talk, and asking how we were enjoying our items. We saw a couple of tables also get food and everything looked delicious and large portions. Definitely give Fuller House a try when in the Hinsdale area! read more

The ability to apologize and take accountability goes a long way in my opinion and I appreciate Fuller House doing that. Ordered the birria tacos as take out from Fuller House tonight and they were absolutely disgusting. As you can see in my photos, the brisket is covered in unrendered fat. My food was borderline inedible. I cannot believe they would think this was acceptable to serve to a customer. And, I was supposed to receive a side of consume but instead I received a side of... bacon bits? This will not be a restaurant I continue to give my business to. read more

Parking can be tricky. Located in the heart of Hinsdale, south of the train tracks, parking is hit or miss. After you find an open parking spot, you might have to walk several blocks to FH. The best part about FH is the outdoor seating, 2 different sides of their corner building: beer garden or barricaded street seating. Over the last year, we have eaten here several times. The food is always good, but the service is on/off. Sometime our server is nice other times rather short tempered. I don't think we have done anything to offend, but the personality is wildly inconsistent. The food has always good, especially the salads. read more

Dined at Fuller House on Sunday. The Bears game was on super loud. Luckily they sat us upstairs where it wasn't as loud. The atmosphere was fun! I had the All American Burger - hold the cheese. This is, IMO, the best burger in the western suburbs. Flavorful, great quality meat, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Homemade chips were excellent. Coleslaw was meh. Hubs had the turkey burger which was huge and very tasty. Pretty extensive and fairly priced draft beer menu. Service was attentive. There is an option on-line to join a waitlist. Love this place as it's lively during the weekends and busy, I suggest either joining the waitlist on the way over or make a reservation if available. I know sometimes they just don't take reservations. Food is good and bigger on the portion sizing. Fuller House is a very vibrant and energetic pub house in old downtown Hinsdale. It has a great reputation in the near west suburbs and our catchup party of 3 found that it lived up to its reputation and we had a mighty fine pub dinner here. You could also call it a sports bar as every seat in the house has a view of a big TV screen somewhere. It was pretty busy at 5:30pm on a Wednesday night and that is apparently normal. We got a nice table on their upstairs level, and that might have been perfect as it seemed a little less noisy, though still busy, than the energetic ground level where the big centerpiece bar was. Anyway their beer list is decent, and the 3 of us had beer and burger dinners and it was all top notch delicious. We also shared a delicious cheese curd ($12) and small pretzel ($9) appetizer order. I for one had a couple of the Noon Whistle A Little Bit of the Old Razzle Dazzle Hazy IPA's ($8 each and 6.0% ABV) and their Day & Night burger with fries ($17). I don't often have two of the same beers given various choices, but I really liked this Noon Whistle hazy IPA! One colleague had a Hop Butcher Tomato Wedge pale ale ($10 and 6.0% ABV), a Noon Whistle Razzle Dazzle hazy IPA ($8), and their Spitfire burger and fries ($16). The other colleague had a Hop Butcher Tomato Wedge pale ale, a Dovetail kolsch ($8 and 4.6% ABV), and their American burger with fries ($15). They don't take reservations for parties under 6, but there is a Yelp waitlist that can be helpful but we didn't need it. I was lucky and parked right across the street in a timely opening. Otherwise it's a neighborhood where you just have to circle around a little bit until something opens up and it's free parking everywhere. The reviews say the weekends are a mess for parking and I can believe it, so avoid the weekends if possible! Katie P was our server and she was friendly and attentive despite being pretty busy. Neighborhood bar and grill, but so much more. Fuller House is an early lunch on a late sunny morning, laptop break and lunch with your neighboring co-workers on a work from home day, cocktails and dinner with your girlfriends, celebrating a birthday, or having a date night after dropping off the kids (or anytime in between when the kids are with you)! I've come many times and taken forever to evaluate and review. But these are all reasons why locals flock to this perfectly located establishment. Over time, they've really fine tuned a solid menu and perfect atmosphere. If you just want to get small plates and drinks, they've got you covered with a completely delicious set of what's popular but also tasty. Burgers and sandwiches are all great. There was a fire here earlier this year and the clean-up was quick. They were up and running again in no time which shows extreme dedication and people who know this business well. This entire street is filled with rock star restaurants from burgers, to breakfast, to sushi, Italian, etc. Hinsdale has fostered a successful strip of totally amazing dining all while maintaining an extremely local vibe that isn't trying to be North Shore or "city" or anywhere else but right here. Fuller House has been extremely successful in filling that role rounding out the corner of Garfield and First. I visited Fuller House over the summer with a friend of mine from Alabama. We ordered a few drinks and appetizers, and the bartender made fun of both of our accents. I am from Boston. At first, we thought it was in jest, and paid no mind, but then it turned rude, mean, condescending and downright "awkward." The bartender actually asked us "is this awkward", laughed and walked away barely getting our order right because clearly, he could only hear his own thoughts. It appeared we were in a firing zone for this guy's enjoyment and he even made some homophobic remarks. This bartender had a rash and insensitive sense of humor that was not funny at all. He ruined our afternoon, and we still tipped him 20%, which I regret to this day. It took me so long to write this review, but it's been brewing in my head for about 6 months. This particular bearded, Fuller House employee corrected how we ordered menu items and mocked us. I will never go back again, nor will I recommend anyone go there. Ambiance - 3.7/5 We sat on the main level, which had a cozy ambiance. I appreciated that it wasn't just a typical bar atmosphere but also had a welcoming restaurant vibe. Service - 3.5/5 This was our first time at the restaurant and there was no one at the host stand. After waiting for 10min, we finally asked a staff member if we were supposed to seat ourselves and they said no, the host would seat us. We waited another 5min standing there with no one acknowledging us before we were seated. Thankfully, our server was wonderful. Food/Drinks - 3.7/5 Shake Your Pom Poms Mocktail - Festive and yummy. Not overly sweet. Baked Mac & Cheese - DELICIOUS! It was creamy, cheesy, and everything mac & cheese should be. West Coast Burger - We came to Fuller House to try this burger and it did not disappoint. The meat was seasoned well and the burger was juicy and flavorful. Animal Fries - Did not enjoy these. Pretzel with cheese - the cheese came crispy and was delicious, cauliflower Entree: Double decker tacos with truffle Parmesan fries - very tasty, the famous grilled cheese, steak sandwich - the jam definitely made it, and for dessert the cookie skillet and banana pudding. Ordered October Burger Special- APPLE BRANDY BISON ($18-19) House Bison Patty, Applewood Bacon, Caramelized Apple Brandy Jam, Brie, Arugula, Garlic & Herb Aioli, Pretzel Bun. I never review but this was the absolute WORST burger Ive ever been served. The medium Bison was well done yet a true gray color and zero flavor and dry. I added a gluten free bun which Im sure was $2-3 upcharge and as soon as i picked it up the entire sandwich fell apart. The fries were tremendous! Yeah! My sisters order was also incorrect. The food there is absolutely amazing my friends and I love to get the animal fries and pretzel as a starter. The sauces that come with the pretzel are delectable. As well the entree the Caesar wrap which is delicious to share and to bring home. All of the waiters are incredibly nice and a willing to do anything for you to have great service and a great afternoon or night out. The whole place is amazing to be at with sports on every tv and the bar looks absolutely stunning with all the lights. The upper floor has an amazing view of the lower level. My only complaint is that 2 times I went there was a hair in our food but other than that I love the place and always go back. read more

Really cool place We sat at the bar and it felt like we were sitting on an old Viking ship. There were modern amenities like flat screens that were attached to some old wood beams held together by thick rope. There's also a cool outdoor patio which is nice in the warmer months. You're probably more interested in the food. We got burgers here. I thought they were pretty good. Not the best burgers but not the worst burgers.....so Just good. Sitting right at the bar allowed us to get quick service and drinks. The ambiance and atmosphere was good and fun to hang out and have some drinks. Laid back and relaxing. read more

I have been to Fuller House a few times, each time leaving super impressed by both the service and food, so this review is much overdue. We came on a Sunday during lunch and had to wait about fifteen minutes for a table and opted to sit at the patio. They did a great job making a reasonable size space accommodate many tables without having it feel cramped. Large umbrellas provide shade, which is always nice. We started off with the Woodfire Pretzel Twist. It was your standard Bavarian pretzel, but the green chile queso dip it came with was to die for. We also ordered their nachos, which were enough to feed five of us and have us feeling almost too full for our entrees. They were loaded with the same green chile queso, fire roasted corn salsa, pickled fresno, guacamole, and a chipotle sour cream. I am a fan of spicy dishes, and this definitely had a strong kick to it! All the different flavors and textures melded beautifully together. As far as our entrees, this is what all us ordered; Salmon La Puebla Salad, Derby Winner Burger (topped with yellow cheddar, bacon, crispy onion rings, and bourbon bbq), and Day + Night Burger (topped with a sunnyside egg, bacon, stout onions, white cheddar, and garlic mayo on a brioche bun). Everyone could not stop raving about their food. I ordered the Salmon La Pueble Salad, which was a spin on a traditional caesar salad. The romaine was grilled and had the perfect char on it, which was complimented by the creamy chipotle caesar dressing. It served as the base for grilled salmon, and topped with avocado, parmesan, cherry tomatoes, corn, and sourdough croutons. This is my go to order at Fuller House and I always order a side of truffle parmesan fries to eat with it. The fries are heavenly, with a bit of Calabrian chili peppers on, adding another element of flavor. I also want to note that despite being packed and super busy, our server and waitress was very helpful, accommodating, and super friendly. I noticed all the staff had smiles on their faces; it is always nice to see a happy staff. Anyways, long story short - Fuller House is a MUST! read more

I used to work in Hinsdale and it's been years since I've left and I remember how much I ALWAYS enjoy fuller House when I order for lunch. Always great food and this time was no exception. Hubby and I decided to go back for our date night. We were seated outside right away and it was in the lower 60's so it was a bit chilly but still very comfortable and perfect for date night with some fresh air while you eat. I ordered the white Alagash for the both of us. He ordered tuna poké, I got the capri sandwich but the highlight was the dessert! That warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream with whipped cream was the absolute best. The only reason why I didn't give them a full 5 star was that service could have been a bit better in this beautiful town. Our waitress forgot about our drinks in the beginning and asked us what we would like to drink when we already placed our order after 15 mins of waiting. We were worried we have to wait again and she forgot our order. But it was still a great datenight and would go back just for the cookie dessert. Yum! read more
