When she inquired as to why such a high price, the owner totally and unnecessarily went off on her. Not only was his tone of voice derogatory in what he said, but his whole attitude was like he treated her like she was trash. Stating that he knew her "kind". He even told her not to come back anymore. Thus effectively treating her with such disrespect, that a white gentlemen behind her apologized for him telling her that he hoped she had a better day. She did not raise her voice nor was she belligerent in her request. So why this treatment? If anyone was to go into this shop, be aware that you too may become a victim of the same treatment.

I have used the Pit Stop for many years. I prefer to bring my own oil and get charged for the…read moreservice minus the standard oil cost. My last visit I am credited $4.00 for my oil and charged almost $50.00. Getting them to change my oil is a convenience and not a need. I do my best to make use of businesses in the Athens area as long as the company treats me fair even if the cost is a bit more. Fair is fair, I don't want more than I paid for and shouldn't be charged for more than I received.

Fun side-story: I have a seatbelt cover in the drivers seat that looks like a stuffed animal version of Donatello (from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", the purple one). It's a great conversation-starter with one of the guys who works there. So I get to have my car maintenance done, as well as get to "talk Turtles" with someone while there!
