We did arrive at 5:30pm early since this was our first time and wanted to make sure we had waivers signed and prepped. They put on our wristbands and let us start bouncing at 5:30pm and got called to stop at 7:30pm! SWEET! You DO have to wear the FunBox provided grip socks. However, with the 90 minute pass I purchased for me, my boyfriend, and his daughter, the socks were included! (Cost for 2 adults and (1) 9 y.o. was $80). The staff are young and very kind. There is a small arcade in the front; some of the games are free play and others you need to pay. The place was quite bigger than I expected and had a lot of cute characters and obstacle courses, climbing things, slides, etc. There was always someone with spray and a rag cleaning up the areas which was reassuring and nice to see! I would not recommend FunBox in Downey. The customer service was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The biggest issue was that they do not clearly explain how their party packages work. When you book a two-hour party, you assume that's what you're getting, but in reality, you only get about an hour and a half before they're rushing you out the door. This was never explained when we made the reservation. Once we realized how little time we actually had, we asked if we could simply pay to extend our party by an extra hour. We weren't asking for anything free--we were willing to pay the additional cost. Instead of trying to accommodate us or even showing a little understanding, the staff repeatedly told us "no" and showed no empathy or willingness to help. What made it even more frustrating was that we booked here because family members had previously held a party and were allowed to move to the public tables afterward to finish eating and visiting. We were told that wasn't allowed, even though we'd personally seen it happen before. The inconsistency was frustrating. To make matters worse, they said they could accommodate only nine people for an additional hour, but because minors aren't allowed to jump without an adult, the adult would also count toward the limit. It felt like every possible solution was immediately shut down instead of anyone trying to work with us. The entire experience felt rushed, poorly communicated, and overpriced for what you actually receive. If you're planning a birthday party or group event, be aware that the time goes by much faster than they lead you to believe, and don't expect much flexibility if problems come up. Had the pleasure of going to "FunBox" from 7:30 pm to 9pm tonight for my daughter's 9th birthday. When we first walked in, we were greeted by the receptionist Diana. She asked if we had a reservation then she gave a breakdown of the next steps. Diana was extremely knowledgeable, kind and attentive. The atmosphere was a very large jumper, with many obstacle courses that the kids can do, in different sections. Outside of the jumpers, they had a 5 and below small area and arcade games as well. Overall, though it was extremely packed my kiddoes still had lots of areas to still play freely and have fun. A lot of parents are in there with their kids, and I think it helps with everyone being able to get around and share. Lastly, I wanted to thank Diana. Only complaint is what is offered for the party set up. I paid for 40 guests and extra for everyone to be upgraded to jump, however the room itself as you can see was only set up for half the guests. If you have young kids, you know they need a place to jump around and release all their energy. This is a good place for it. Easy online reservations that take no time at all, you can also do it there but online saves you a bit of time. However, please be aware that you and/or your kids MUST buy the official Fun Box socks to jump around. But they're totally worth it. The place itself is pretty big. Plenty of space for you and your little ones to run around and jump, slide, and even flip. What I really like is that they do a good job of monitoring things by giving everyone a colored wristband with a time limit and once your color is called your time is up. This is essentially because it prevents overcrowding and risk of kids and adults running into eachother. They have a small arcade area, but not much in terms of games to play. I do wish they had more video games to play. Other than that I have no complaints. It's a little hectic to get inside with long lines. Get here earlier or it's hard to find parking. What i like about this place is it's large, with rental locker space, some arcade, party space, and a large jump area. Other places I don't remember seeing staff in the jump area but there are staff here to keep an eye out for safety. Most importantly there's enough AC even when you're jumping around. Everything was condensed into a small-ish area. If adults want to watch their kids, they have to join them inside the inflatable. No way to watch the kids from outside of it. Kinda surprised that it was just 1 huge inflatable with slides, balls to jump from one to another, a mound to bounce one, a little contender battle ring, climbing structures, etc. but we (including the adults) had fun. It was a workout chasing after the kids. Some arcades were free at the time. There were 4 birthday rooms, but you can't see into the inflatable area from the rooms. This is my second time being here and the staff seem to be very people unfriendly and slow. Today we checked in and the person wearing the black polo at 2:35 pm says hi but no actual eye contact and then begins to check us in and mumbles instructions and tells us to meet her at the sock area while she stands and talks to another staff. We wait for a bit and then I ask where do we come in and interrupt their convo. She seemed to be bothered to do customer service to be honest . This happened last time where the vending machine didn't work and I told a staff and he said he didn't know what to do and then I went to another staff and that person also had a black polo on and came over and I told her what occurred. She walked away and didn't say anything then she took another 8 mins while she was showing someone around and came back finally and opened the vending machine and gave me 2 drinks that I had Paid for but was not distributed. I recently hosted my daughter's birthday party at FunBox in Downey, and overall I would give my experience 3 out of 5 stars. The kids had fun, and I appreciate the concept of the place, but I left feeling disappointed because several things were unclear or did not match the expectations that were set when booking. I purchased the Premium Birthday Package, including the upgrade for 40 jumpers/guests, so naturally I expected the party room to be set up accordingly. However, when I arrived, there were only 34 chairs available. When I asked about this, I was told that "not everyone comes into the room anyway." I didn't feel that was an appropriate response because if I paid for accommodations for 40 guests, I expected seating for 40 guests. I really believe that they gave me the wrong room. In fact, from the screen where they put your child's name and said standard Party, even though mine was a premium, I had her taught them to change that. Another issue was the party room itself. During the birthday tour, I was under the impression that because I booked a premium package with 40 guests, I would likely have one of the larger middle rooms. Instead, the room felt smaller than expected, which was disappointing considering the size of my party package. I also had an issue with food accommodations. During the booking tour, the coordinator explained that outside food was allowed and even mentioned that people could bring food warmers with small fire kits, so I assumed bringing my hot dog steamer would be perfectly fine. However, on the day of the party, I was unable to use it because there was nowhere available for me to plug it in. Had I known this ahead of time, I would have planned differently. I feel this information should be clearly communicated upfront. Eventually, they did help me plug it in. They put another table, but it was blocking the fridge so that was kind of like not ideal cause we couldn't get to the drinks. Another frustration involved the large screen/TV inside the party room. There is a huge black screen mounted there, which gives the impression that it is part of the party room experience. Staff initially turned it on, but then told us they could not keep it on because of power limitations related to the refrigerator and other plugged-in equipment. From what I understood, the screen technically works, but guests are generally not allowed to use it because it affects other equipment. This was disappointing because not only is it misleading to have a large screen there that customers assume can be used, but if it is not truly available as part of the room experience, it honestly should either be removed or clearly explained ahead of time. One thing I especially think needs to be corrected is the check-in policy. During booking and in the contract, it clearly states that host families may arrive 15 minutes early. Naturally, I arrived before my scheduled time expecting access to the room. Instead, I was told I was too early and that early access is "not guaranteed." My concern is that nowhere during booking or on the contract does it clearly say this is not guaranteed. If that policy exists, it should absolutely be stated upfront so families can plan properly. Lastly, part of the birthday package included a visit from the Freddy character, and I was underwhelmed by that experience. Freddy never really came into our party room and mostly stayed standing in the hallway. My daughter was handed cotton candy, but I had seen photos and was told the birthday child would receive something special. Unfortunately, my daughter never received any birthday gift or special item, which was disappointing. Perhaps a the cotton candy. Overall, the kids still had fun, which is why I'm not giving a lower rating. But for the amount paid and for purchasing a premium package, I expected better communication, clearer policies, and for the experience to match what was presented during booking. I hope management improves transparency because families spend a lot of money expecting everything included in the package to be delivered as promised. But the jumping was fun so I can't complain on that. read more

First time here! My son had been bugging me to bring him, so we finally made it out. It's a really cute place, and he definitely enjoyed himself. My only major concern was the music. It was extremely loud--to the point where it sounded like the speakers were going to blow out! The place is already naturally loud with kids laughing and screaming, so adding very loud music on top of that made it almost overwhelming. I spoke with a team member named Emily and expressed my concerns. She was quick to respond, listened to what I had to say, and even asked if I would like her to lower the volume. That is amazing customer service. Honestly, I probably would not have come back if she hadn't handled the situation the way she did. She completely changed my experience. They're lucky to have someone like Emily who knows how to listen to customers and handle concerns professionally and promptly. We had a great time overall, and I just hope they consider keeping the music at a more reasonable level. We booked my brother's birthday party at Funbox Downey on August 18th, paid the 50% deposit, and received confirmation for September 12th, 5:15-7:15 PM. We spent weeks planning around that reservation, including coordinating guests and catering. Then, just 10 days before the party, Funbox cancelled and told us there had been a system glitch and our time was double-booked. We were initially told there was nothing available that day, despite their website still showing multiple party times. They eventually offered a 9:45-11:45 AM slot, which obviously doesn't work for an evening celebration that has already been planned. I understand mistakes happen, but the consequences of a booking error shouldn't fall entirely on the customer. A complimentary Family Fun Pass doesn't come close to making up for the inconvenience, lost planning, and expenses. The most disappointing part is that my brother was genuinely excited to celebrate his birthday at Funbox, one of the few places he truly enjoys. I appreciate management taking the time to communicate with me and attempt to find a solution, but unfortunately, this experience has left a very bad impression. read more

We checked out Funbox today, and honestly... this place has the potential to be AMAZING for families. My mom found a grand opening promo online: $4 admission during the first 10 days of May (including jump socks). That price is basically unheard of for indoor play spaces because I usually pay $20+ per child before socks. Huge win there. One thing to know: they do not accept outside grip socks, even branded ones from places like Sky Zone. You must wear Funbox socks. Luckily, the promo included them. A few tips before you go: * Everyone in your party needs a signed waiver and ticket. * If you book an 11 AM jump time, arrive early because the check-in line gets long. * Reservations are HIGHLY recommended. We booked a week ahead, and I personally saw families getting turned away because they were already at reservation capacity. We went on a Tuesday at 11 AM. Now for the actual play area -- it's HUGE. The inflatables were genuinely fun, and I loved that it worked well for all three of my kids (ages 2, 4, and 7). Sometimes indoor playgrounds are either too babyish for older kids or too chaotic for toddlers, but this one balanced both really well. Right outside the jump area there's also: * an arcade section with claw machines and games * a small toddler/baby foam play area The toddler section is pretty tiny though -- maybe enough space for about 5-6 little ones comfortably. Now unfortunately... here's why I can't fully give this place 5 stars yet. The bathrooms were COMPLETELY closed during our visit. There was literally a sheet covering the restroom entrance with a sign saying "Bathrooms Out of Order -- Porta Potties Available Outside." For a place designed specifically for children, sending families with toddlers to use porta potties outside is honestly unacceptable to me. The second my toddlers needed the restroom, I immediately understood why the porta potties were there. If I had known ahead of time the bathrooms weren't operational, I probably would've chosen another day to visit. In my opinion, they should have delayed opening until the restrooms were fully functional. That said -- once the bathrooms are fixed and operating normally, this place honestly has 5-star potential. The inflatables, pricing promo, and overall experience for multiple age groups were fantastic. One more thing parents should know -- this place is completely cashless, so don't bring cash expecting to use it for admission, arcade games, or snacks. The ambiance is so clean, bright, compelling and joyous. It's so cozy and comfortable the air is just right! It's really healing for the grown ups jumping around as well, which I saw reliving their childhood innocence. The color scheme of the atmosphere sends you through a sensory overload while you feel like a child climbing, skipping, flying through the air and sliding down slides! Aramis did an amazing job directing traffic of the ginormous ball jump obstacle with so much integrity and authority. The children loved listening to him. He is very humble, but brave and direct with the direction he gives. He is a respectful man who treats the jumping guests with dignity and pride in fulfilling the duties of his position. Brandon was also very helpful. He helped us with the cotton candy machine and he did an impeccable job at the front desk. He took complete initiative handling any issues on the floor and guiding people around. You can tell he takes his job seriously and he does it with a smile on his face- he's so friendly and charming- he executes the best communication skills and he is very understanding! I visited around 10 AM on May 2, right at opening time. On the way there, my 3-year-old daughter urgently needed to use the restroom. When we arrived, the line was so long that we couldn't wait. My husband and son stayed in line while I took my daughter to the entrance to ask if she could use the restroom first and then rejoin the line. There were two women selling socks at the entrance. I explained the situation to one of them, and she said she needed to check with the manager. She immediately asked the manager standing right next to her, and the manager refused without even making eye contact. I was surprised and explained again that my child urgently needed to go to the restroom and couldn't wait in line that long. The manager then said there were no restrooms inside and told us to use the portable toilets outside if needed. This is a place meant for children, yet there was absolutely no consideration for a young child. Even adults struggle to hold it in, let alone a 3-year-old.
