Let me start this by telling you how amazing service was. We had a large party of 12 and I don't think I ever saw a glass get more than half empty. The servers were incredibly attentive and extremely knowledgeable. When it was time for the next course people seemed to appear with food out of nowhere serving everybody at the same time. Kudos for being the best part of this experience! The food was just okay for me. My steak was cooked great but not prepared great leaving gristle and fat that I had to cut around the edges. The circular slab of butter that came on top was just too much, reminding me of all the reasons I don't love wagyu. It just makes everything so rich. The chilled chicken soup was a big miss for all three of us that tried it. When asked how it was the best thing I could come up with was "odd". Compliments to the tableside fish carver for filleting with sprezzatura and compliments to the chef for such an excellent branzino dish. We came in for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. This whole experience was just disappointing, we were so looking forward to a special evening out. We usually go to the Log Cabin for our anniversary but we decided to try somewhere new and saw this place had overall great reviews. Unfortunately we did not have that same experience. The ambiance is a more intimate setting but no one was very friendly I just didn't get a genuine hello, goodbye, thanks for joining us from anyone. We started with the Frito Misto and raw oysters. The oysters were good but the Frito Misto was served without the sauces, we had to keep searching for someone to catch their eye to get the sauces it was supposed to have. Even with the sauces it was very clumped together and lacked any flavor. Server didn't come over to us at all during the appetizers or when we were done our empty plates sat for a while until someone else cleared them. Once the entrees came out she did stop once I asked for a gingerale because I was not a fan of the mocktail I had ordered. I got the lobster fettuccine which I did really enjoy besides the fact there was shell still on one of the pieces of lobster. My husband got the filet which I was planning on having some but it was so charboiled on the outside it just tasted like the grill. Really felt by doing such a hard charbroil on it ruined it and was not appetizing. We both didn't finish our meals and waited for the server to stop again. At this point when I had no drink now, not even a water refill the entire night, she then dropped of the gingerale which we were ready to get our meals boxed and leave. We also noticed every other table around us had been given bread on their table. We were not. Overall we just felt like we were given the bare minimal service and not acknowledge at all when trying to celebrate a special evening. But try as he might, we didn't let his cold demeanor ruin our evening. Every dish we ordered was impeccable. Bold flavors, beautiful plating, cooked to perfection. The Kennet Square Mushrooms... WOW! A crispy polenta cake topped with buttery sauteed mushrooms and shaved parmigiana in a black truffle cream sauce. Might be my favorite appetizer ever. And again, the entrees were friggin' fantastic. Absolutely no complains. So let's skip ahead to the desserts. First off, not even sure how we saved enough room. Who has room for dessert after apps and entrees? I feel like that's kinda rare unless you're eating strategically. But hey, it happened. We got the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake, Chocolate Temptation, and the Salted Caramel Crème Brûlée. Now, sides and all that were all over the place. Desserts that weren't supposed to come with strawberries did, desserts that were supposed to come with hazelnut mousse didn't. Everything was kind of mixed and matched. Turns out, you can put basically any sweet side with a dessert and it actually turns out pretty good. The crème brûlée was definitely the standout. Finally a top notch fine dining restaurant that delivers in Lancaster. We enjoyed dinner while celebrating our Anniversary. It had a romantic atmosphere and our server Matt was very good to us. He was professional and had a polished knowledge of the menu and ingredients that are served nightly and seasonally. The entire dinner was amazing from start to finish. We started with the crab cake and lobster cocktail. My lobster was served on ice, which I love and with a cocktail and tartare sauce. The crab cake was the best we ever had. I ordered my filet mignon med rare, and it was cooked perfectly! It was served with savory asparagus and whipped potato. I booked this restaurant for 8 people to celebrate my sister's wedding and this experience exceeded my expectations! Not only was the service amazing, the food and drinks were incredible! They sat us in a private room which was a pleasant surprise, and were always extremely attentive. Maggie, our server, was so sweet and knowledgeable, we all loved her! I was a little embarrassed because at times our group got a little loud (8 of us drinking in a private room) but the staff did not make us feel bad at all! Two fingerling potatoes cut into 4 and 4 small slices of zucchini. I am no stranger to great restaurants, ate Michelin a few times so we don't mind paying for GOOD food but this was inexcusable. My husband's crab cake was burnt and his swordfish had no salt what so ever, no flavor. When I say we had to swallow down the food with our cocktails that is no exaggeration. Although not his profession my husband cooks as well so we are by far no strangers to great food. He made a review in which the manager had seemed empathetic but now this morning, July14th I hear my husband in his office around 8:15am in what seemed a confrontational conversation and it was the actual owner being unnecessarily confrontational with my husband over his right to his own opinion on a dinner we paid for and not once asked for a refund or even made a scene in the restaurant. The bar was sort of smelly and definitely not the cleanest. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would! Save your money and go where the food is good and business is APPRECIATED! Gibraltar used to be on of my favorite restaurants but now I have had 2 negative experiences. We celebrated my husband's birthday last year and were very disappointed with the food and service. I decided to try Gibraltar again and attended with a large group of people. I had the salmon with sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts and a salad. They forgot the salad dressing. The sweet potatoes were terrible and the rest of the food was just OK. A lot of uneaten food was thrown away at the end of the evening. But the worst part of the evening was the service. One of the women I was with was joking/laughing and the waiter actually rolled his eyes. I made a special request to the manager and was simply told "We're not interested." We always try and sit with Maggie who does an excellent job. The owner is incredibly nice and it's great to see him really helping out the staff. This was my first time visiting this establishment. We made reservations so I highly recommend doing that before going for this place can get pretty full. I loved the ambience and the staff were very nice. They had outdoor seating available as well as indoor seating and I admired how they spaced out the seating due to the pandemic. My server was Tyler and I believe he was just filling in as a server that day for he is the bar manager. His vast knowledge of of the menu as well as the exclusive seasonal cocktails really kept me smiling and invigorated. His service was beyond amazing and it made me realize how much I truly miss socializing due to the pandemic. He made this amazing cosmopolitan and he also knew the perfect desert cocktail to end the evening with. The food came out in a timely fashion and the presentation what's superb.
