I came here looking for some miniature accessories to decorate my tarantula terrarium with, and some fancy paint to paint a miniature. My girlfriend came to see if they had a paint that might work to fix some scratches she'd put into her new, shiny metalic high heels. We didn't find a paint that matched her needs exactly, but I did find some tiny potted plants and some paint in the perfect colors for my projects. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though we were asking for really odd-ball stuff and the prices seemed fair to me. We hosted our 4 year old's Lego-themed birthday at Fundemonium and it was so perfect! They truly think of everything. There are tons of party themes to choose from, perfect for any child and all interests. They not only provide the paper goods, decorate and personalize the party space, and allow outside food (unlike many other local party places!), but they also organize and facilitate all of the activities during the party! The party hosts were very attentive and involved, including learning every child's name (and we had almost 20!). We've been goin to Fundamonium since they were in Petaluma. The owners are very friendly that staff is super helpful. Our daughter just celebrated her 14th birthday there, so I specifically wanted to point out what a great job they did. It was totally worth it to not have to clean our house (especially after!). My daughter is a big game player, so she wanted to have a party with party board games. They played Codenames and Werewolf. There were 10 teenagers and everyone had a great time. Of course the staff was super accommodating and easy to work with. I know it might not come to mind for a teenage age-group, but I have to say, be sure to consider it! I got very good feedback from all the guests. You were accommodating to have almost 80-100 guests and very thoughtful to setup few tables for elderly folks (without me requesting). The entire setup and take down of the event place was smooth. The kids were engaged with the available games and everyone enjoyed the freedom. It had been a long time since I could see all my parent friends sit, relax and have a open hearted chat without worrying about kids. My 12 yr old plays Magic here Friday nights and we both feel very safe and comfortable with him playing there with the others and without a parent being present. We also have 3 RC cars from here. The boys love playing with them. They have an inside track, however my boys (husband & son) love driving them around outside. If a part needs to be upgraded or needs to be replaced their knowledgeable staff is there to help. If a part or upgrade is not in stock, and they will order it. We throw a big birthday party for my son each year, this year we had it at fundamonium. One of the easiest party we have done, and all the kids loved it. Staff was super helpful, great with the kids. We arrived to the party area being fully decorated. Lots of little touches, like a sign with my son's name set up with sharpies so all his friends could draw on it. The rc car racing and slot cars are an absolute blast. I will be recommending this store for events to everyone I can. read more

I have been shopping with Fundemonium for over 5 years. I have had nothing but great experiences every time I visit. These days it is rare to find a good hobby, even more scarce to find a hobby shop with good products and great customer service. I am a pretty dedicated RC helicopter flyer and it is hard to find shops that carry helicopter parts and machines. Fundemonium has a great inventory of helicopters and usually has a good stock of replacement parts to go with it. Anytime I want to order something they don't have in stock they give you 5% off and if usually arrives within a few days. All of the employees are very knowledgable and are more than willing to help answer questions to help you no matter if its for a $5 part or a $1000.00 helicopter. The owner Steve is a stand up guy, always happy too help with big smile on his face, and he truly cares about his customer and will go above and beyond to keep you coming back. I would highly recommend Funemonium to any one any age. It is a friendly place place full of fun toys, RC products, and great people! read more

Fundemonium is the best hobby shop I've been to in sonoma county. The staff is awesome, knowledgeable, and kind. They have an excellent selection of rc vehicles and parts, the model selection is vast, as well as the paint to go along with it. I used to cut tiny pieces of masking tape and use a toothpick for my models but not since I started shopping here. They have various size rolls of narrow tape and superfine paintbrushes. Any rc questions I've had, they always have known the answer. Even if they didn't have any of the above things going for them, I'd still shop here because Steve and the staff are pretty darn cool! read more

I wish i could give zero stars. I put down a $100 deposit for a birthday party in april of 2020. It was canceled due to covid lockdown and restrictions. Fast forward to January 2022 I received a phone call stating they were starting to schedule birthday parties and i had priority because they have it down that i had put a deposit down but never had a party. My son decided he didnt want to have a party there this year, so i asked if i could come pick up my deposit. "Of course come on in" when i arrived i was told that without a receipt they wouldnt give me my money back. When i asked to speak to the manager "karen" told me she was the owner and there was nothing i could do to get out. Be ware the owner sucks. read more

So im looking to buy toys for Christmas...what happened to the toy stores in the big shopping malls? Alot of things are online nowadays. Thats fine for certain items but if your shopping for toys its nice to see in person and check the quality of the product. However, it is convenient to find things online and to research places and stuff. I aint slamming the "online" thing...im happy for it...it just the "toy store" thing...aint none around! So here i am looking for toy stores near me and several places popped up. Apparently toy stores are referred to as "Hobby Shops"...which is cool (for me) because in hobby shops they have big kid toys like radio controlled cars...yippy! Anyway, i come across this place named Fundemonium in Rohnert Park, Ca. and so my wife and I drive out to check this place out. Walked into this toy store and immediately was greeted by woman working the floor (so friendly) we told her our interest and she walked us over to an isle with exactly what we looking for "educational learning toys"! My wife immediately was having a great time shopping for gift items. Me on the other hand walked over to the Radio controlled cars (oh boy! Here we go). So this older fella approaches me and ask if he could help me out (his name is Steve i remember seeing a photo of him as i was checking the website) nice guy! I was asking him about the smaller scale RCs for younger kids and he was very helpful and kinda re-educated me with his selection. Ive been a hobbyist towards RCs at the least 15yrs ago and alot has changed. Its gotten very technical over time. Anyway, I couldn't keep him from the other customers and had to thank him for his time but this other person working the floor came to me and ask if i had any questions and of course I did...his name is Austin and this guy went out his way showing me most of the RCs on the shelf! I gotta say mostly everyone working the floor approached us and asked if we needed any help...my wife and i really appreciated that! And because of that (beside the quality of the toys) we got our moneys worth at Fundemonium. The following day we returned and i ended up purchasing an RC that "Awsome Austin" was showing me the day before. I believe in supporting local businesses when possible but after yesterday I will only go there when I absolutely need something right away. Yesterday when my son and I went it in it was almost like vultures circling when we were in the r/c section. As soon as we start to look in the display cases the owner comes over and pretty much asked if we were gonna buy a new r/c vehicle, which we were not and when we do, it won't be from them! Then a few moments later one of the younger sales people asked if we already owned r/c cars. When we told him yes he asked what we had. So we told and then he proceeded to tell us how vastly superior his cars were to ours. Great way to keep customers! I will only be buy model building supplies there and only when I need them right away. read more

Great place! Went with my grandson who handily beat me at slot car racing. The staff is exceptional, especially Tony who seemed to know exactly what we needed. The inventory is perfect for a four/five year old who left with an airplane, a rocket and a bird house kit. All items to build or assemble with his grandpa. My family loves shopping at this fun store, they really have something for each of us! Recently we had a poor weather forecast on the day of my son's planned birthday party, I called around to a few child-oriented local businesses and found Fundemonium to be the most accommodating and flexible, so I chose to hold his party there. Jean and Steven were more than happy to accommodate all of our needs with short notice, even managing to let us enjoy the piñata I had so carefully picked out for the 3 & 4 year olds to break. Adults and children alike really enjoyed the space, party goers were able to observe the RC track in action and the play area that was set up for our use. We recently celebrated my son's 6th birthday at Fundemonium. He wanted a LEGO party and we had a blast! The staff was super flexible and accomodating, they had some fun game ideas with the bricks but also let the kids enjoy themselves when they opted out. Our guests got to enjoy the whole store, smaller siblings could play in the play corner (and had Duplos put out, as well). The fun part about Fundemonium is that they have something for everyone so even the parents found cool stuff (RC cars, train sets, drones) to look at or even try. We ordered a cake somewhere else and had a last minute cancellation. When I called Fundemonium asking for help getting a cake 3 days before the event, they went above and beyond to make sure their partner bakery could accommodate us. My family and I watched Steve & Jean build fundemonium from a small toy & hobby shop to a important part of this community. It is now a diverse entertainment & learning center for the entire family "Yes learning at Fundemonium is FUN!" They have a wide range of hobbies, Games and activities for everyone. Their staff is top notch. Each is an expert in their field. From Hi Tech R.C plane's helicopters & cars to board games and slot cars you name it. Also they have kindly opened their doors to give gamers and model builders, ship builders a place to meet and discuss their hobbies in a comfortable and friendly environment. Fundemonium has a great blend of first rate products & service with that home town family friendly feeling. Before my last purchase, I would have wrote a 5 star review. I bought an rc truck and the sales person got me a charger, battery and an adapter. Never explained why I needed the adapter. Come to find out, the rc truck has ice plugs for the battery. The battery had right plugs but he sold me a charger that had ic3 plugs. Im very new to rc, so I didn't notice that so I purchased more batteries online with ic3 connectors instead of ic5. So now I had to buy more adapters to use new batteries on my truck. And Steve the owner thinks its fine that the salesperson didn't explain anything to me about it. The salesperson should have just sold me the charger with the correct ends to avoid any confusion. So no longer buying stuff from them. Sucks for them because I was going to buy another rc truck next week. So now I will order it online or get one from jakes instead. And no Steve Andrew didn't explain anything at all. When I go spend as much money as I did, I expect the salesperson getting me the correct stuff and explaining why he wants me to buy a charger abd adapter when all he had to do was sell me the correct charger in the first place. And your response definitely made me decide never to go back. read more

You can never have enough super glue. Really, and this place proves it, they have super glue for *everything* Personally, I build models and play wargames. Yes, I am an adult by day and a crusading child by night! The folks who work here are helpful, funny, and have never once failed to find what I came in looking for, and this is the kind of store where people (including myself) ask for some very obscure stuff. I come in for Warhammer parts and supplies all the time, plastic or pewter glues, sculpting tools, and paints. I can't even tell you how often that ridiculosuly nerdy toolkit has gotten me my security deposit back from houses I've stayed in - a little glue here, some modeling putty there, a dab of paint, and I've put the wall back where it was before the rhino hit it! They also have regular sales and events (tournaments, modeling parties, shows where hobbyists can strut their stuff), and some great member discounts. This store sits in one of the biggest model trains areas in the world, so they've got tons of supplies for them, and an incredibly knowedgable crew about RC cars. I heard a crazy conversation about making miniature hot rods and racing them against real cars (and here I thought they only did that in movies) read more

Just went here for the first time today and what an experience that was! Jean and her husband did an amazing job bringing a toy store to what every kid dreams of (running around and playing). We paid $14 for two kids to play in the kids activity area that's filled with tables of random different toys. We also did the Kraft the day which was a half paper plate we painted yellow, strips of hello construction paper for sun rays, and strips of varied color tissue paper for the the rain now stripes, so cool. After two hours of playing I had to drag my kids out so we can eat dinner. All they've been doing is talking about it and telling everybody about how much fun they had.6 thumbs up from this family! read more

Staff was extremely patient and accommodating with the wildlings I had invite along and even gave me store credit for the additional children i had paid for that didn't show. The owners and employees are always nice to me and my kids. The girls play with every toy and the dollhouse while I look around at the fun things. I've had personal help from a lovely woman who I can only assume was the owner, she helped me put together a present for a little boy and I had a lot of questions; she even helped me a different time with an exchange on a toy gun that got stuck. We like to come here for birthday presents and my husband frequents the amazing RC section for cars, helicopters and more. I don't play role playing games but they have a big area for that and I always see people deep in games there, it's nice to see that there's a place for those gamers to gather :) read more

Wow . I am so pleased with Hobby Town USA. My spouse and I went in to pick up some things for our hobbies and had some questions about a product that runs from low end to high end. We were looking at the mid range product when older employee approached us to ask us if we had any questions. He had 20 odd years using this product and he gave us so much information. He was friendly and knowledgeable and delivered the kind of customer service that you no longer see in the stores today. Hobby town has so many great learning toys and fun learning toys, model kits ,paints books ,figures you name it. If you want your kid to play something other then video games then bring them here. There are inexpensive things and high priced things and everything in between budget wise. We will continue to shop here even though its a drive a ways for us. read more

Been shopping with this business since they were hobbytown in Petaluma and I have to say they have fallen pretty hard in recent times. I'm sorry, but, the wife/ Co owner of the store has become paranoid about theft and is treating customers poorly now. Makes people very uncomfortable when you behave like everyone is trying to steal from you. Their staff can use a serious overhaul on training. Hard to want to buy anything when an ultra awkward female employee spends literally 10 minutes trying talk at you about something completely unrelated and blatantly doesn't understand that a customer doesn't want to cooperate with you or listen or talk about what they don't want to talk about. Then having an employee over the phone on one day blame a product company and their "robots" about not knowing when their product will arrive but will "absolutely have 4 to 5 boxes for sure" to the very next day I would try to reserve said product to be told they are bottom priority and will most likely not receive anything. And finally having for a 3rd time making a purchase having multi hundred dollar purchases not be recorded as part of the reward system that I've been participating in since petaluma and being told I am not a member after spelling my name out. I'm disappointed to the point of disgusted that I even spent any money there at all now considering how poorly and inconsistently treated and or effectively lied to. You've lost a long customer and I will make sure to make people aware that your store is not worth the time. To be viewed with suspicion and stalked without any cause, to have ultra awkward employees gush about nonsense and not understand how engage people with basic communication, and then to basically be given a run around about product and taking no clear path for handling an unkown... you guys really need get your heads out of your bums. I am beginning an N scale model train layout, and thought I would check out Fundemonium to see what they have as far as materials to build with as well as model train inventory. The store itself is huge, but I feel with all the space they have, they are not utilizing it to stock enough product. Mainly the model railroad road products, but also everything else they carry. I would like to see more actual train items. They only had a few actual N scale locomotives in stock as well as rolling stock. They had a modest amount of supplies for building layouts, but they definitely could have had a lot more. I hope they add more product in the near future. read more

Fantastic local hobby shop with a variety of products, events, services, and activities. They offer a variety of birthday parties, they do RC car racing (indoor and out, BYORC or rental), RC Rock Crawling, MTG tournaments and game night, board game nights, miniature gaming for 40k, AoS, Warmahordes, X-Wing, and anything anyone wants to bring in and play. They have trains, slot cars, a variety of models from classic TV characters to military to anime, tons of supplies like glue and carving knives, toys for children for indoor and outdoor, candy, a snack bar, and an RC Repair station. It's amazing how much they've fit into the space they have. The staff is always friendly and they have a great selection of board games, and take my recommendations on games to stock after I've played them at conventions or ordered them directly from the store. I've been out of RC for a while due to time restraints from college, but in the past their staff, especially Jason and Steve, have been exceptionally proficient at all things RC: Drones, cars, trucks, airplanes, helicopters. I play 40K, AoS, and X-Wing and they have a good selection of models in a well-lit glass case and tend to keep all the reference books in stock. There is often table space available in the back and have been able to have a pick up 40K game with friends there even on non-40K dedicated days. The store has terrain and mats available for wargaming so generally no need to bring your own. Steve and Jean are great owners of a great store and I highly recommend checking this place out. read more
