Best toy store ever! We love Fundemonium! For kids big and small and for those like me who are....forever a kid at heart!

Incredibly knowledgeable staff, huge inventory, and just the most kind people. Love shopping at Fundemonium!

On a whim, while in the area, I decided to stop in. Mostly interested in plastic model kits, i was not disappointed. They have a large selection of various brands. What was most impressive was their "Tools" section. It's a section where the customer can peruse adhesives, paints, X-acto blades, masking materials, etc. without having to bug an employee behind a cash register. This is a big plus. If it were closer to me it would be my Hobby Store of choice. read more

Careful! Cashier angry that I only had a big bill to pay with, so gave me $90 in change in quarters, dimes, nickels and two 5s. Would have been better to go elsewhere if I had known. He had twenties in his till. He was just not happy. Bad customer service. read more

This place is a Joke, When they were down in Petaluma they watched every single adult male coming into the store and sent one of there minions (employees) to watch you. Nothing has changed and after spending $49.00 in the store, they refused to add that to my "Fun" Card unless I spent the $10.00 I already had on there. If you are an adult void this place and it would be worth the trip to head elsewhere, at least you would be welcomed there. read more

Want to know how to take the "Fun" out of Fundemonium? Have an employee tell your wife to pay $3 for self-entertaining a 5 year old near the front of the store (playing with dinosaurs) while I'm looking at $500+ RC models to purchase and fly. Someone needs to take a basic business 101 course on how to treat consumers and keep them coming back. read more

This place is full of games, hands on discovery toys, RC cars and so much more. We purchased two RC cars from them this past week and have had to go back 3 times because one of them that has not been working. It is very frustrating when you purchase something new and it doesn't work. It's also very frustrating when you take something broken, just purchased, back and they refuse to replace it with something new and instead try to fix it. If I lived near here I would be ok with this but since we live an hour away, this is a pain. read more

I came here for replacement batteries and a replacement charger for my new quadcopter. The tech was able to identify the model quadcopter I had based upon the battery and charger I brought it. Very knowledgeable staff! They had a charger and batteries in stock. They also let me know that they carry replacement parts for my model. I'm sure I'll be back when I break something! :-) read more

I was so disappointed when visiting the new location. My grandson whose 3 was excited to go see the new shop. He loves the train table. IMAGINE MY SHOCK. It now is 7$ to play on the tables. It's in their new activity center. My grandson does not have the attention span to play with trains that long. What a rip. So today went to Sonoma Toy shop whre the train table is free. While he was distracted. I did 100$ worth of Christmas shopping. Will do all my toy shopping in Sonoma. read more

This is a Hobby Town type store. In door 1/18 scale carpet track inside, Lego building, card games, and more events. I get a weekly news letter of events which is helpful. This store has a little bit of everything and seems like a fun place for families. I'd actually like to see this store grow. read more

Visited Fundemonium recently to get a birthday gift for my 5 year old niece. I found the staff very helpful. They have quite an assortment of items to choose from for all ages. As it was my first visit, I took a few extra minutes to look around at all they had and was quite impressed. I found two great painting craft kits and they were kind enough to wrap the gifts for me. While I was there I learned that they are planning to move soon to Rohnert Park and will be expanding to a location that is twice the space and will have a kids party room too! read more

Fundemonium in Rohnert Park is a fantastic and unique option for local birthday parties. We held a birthday party here in July 2018 for 13 kids. The kids were able to play freely for a while in the Wunderground area (also awesome for shoppers) and we're able to run around the store trying demo toys. Then the group did 3 science based activities in the party room, centered around the theme. Each kid made three things and took them home in a bag labeled with their name (eliminating the extra expense of party gifts). There was just the right amount of time for snacks, cake and presents. The staff went way out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and that the kids were all having fun. After the party, the birthday kid made a stuffed animal with the stuffing machine. The party was a huge success and the birthday kid loved it! They let the kids play with RC cars on the in store track and pulled out a huge train and car set for the birthday brother who did not want to participate in the party. This store is very good for the hobbyist. Greeted when entered and taken to the desired location. The store is much bigger than expected and has every thing from the old style glue together models, snap together models, radio control vehicles, rockets, and so much more. Do you need to put fabric on the wing of your model airplane, they got it, lets hear it for shrink plastic. How paint, yes! How about a track for your RC vesical, YES! Very impressive store. And I forgot about model trains. Also a collection of hobby books. read more

Great experience each time I come in here. I have visited many times for my adult rc addiction lol. Staff was always helpful. I now have a 17 month old son and have really got see the experience that this business has worked to make from the lil shopping carts to the kids play area ,just awesome! While I visited this Saturday morning they were have model boat show and there many people of all ages enjoying this place . I believe I met Steve the owner and was very nice and you could tell he wanted to make sure he and the staff put the FUN in Fundemonium !!!! read more

Came in here with my son . I fell in love with a RC car so I bought it . the staff was very nice and friendly . They modified the car for me to make it easier for me to charge with the charger I already have. They even let me test drive it after I bought it right there on their track. This was an awesome experience The staff was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. Like Arnold said "I'll be Back". read more

Pretty decent hobby store away from more urbanized areas of the SF Bay Area. In fact, they have a good collection of relatively up-to-date model kits of all genres and most scales. What a great place, all sorts of hobbies i love and a few I am peaking an interest in they likely have it. They have great staff and customer service, you walk in and you're always greeted warmly and welcomed in, if you need help with something theres always someone there to help you. Great activities for kids especially their play areas. Sort of disappointed in some of my fellow reviewers, its a business, they provide a service and expect to get paid. Its not bad customer service if you're asked to pay for something you're using. I expect to pay when I go to a movie theater or gas up my car why wouldn't you pay to play especially when its posted theres a fee? Anyway rant aside, I am really glad they are local here in rohnert park, its my son and I's favorite place to visit and are grateful for them being here. read more

We love the play area here and the friendly staff. Everyone's super nice and friendly and great with kids which is pretty important at a toy store. They have some really cool stuff, we've been eyeing the pony cycle for a while , hoping they have some sort of Black Friday event coming up so we can get it. The owners of this store are so nice. I brought in two drones we bought and Steve spent almost 30 minutes with us fixing them, showing us how to use them and switching out some parts. He was so knowledgeable about the drones. Great customer service! read more

Words cannot express the childlike sense of joy I have when I walk into this place. As soon as I walk in and smell the store I feel like I'm 5 years old again and I've been let loose inside a Toys R Us. I love taking my 4 year old Son here, as well. They have expensive but high quality toys for the younger set and they offer a real sense of community. Their products facilitate friends and families spending quality time together. Great friendly staff that knows about their products. It is a great store for little kids and adults alike. Lots of toys out for the kids to try out or just be entertained while you are shopping for yourself. Also if you are into games or RC there is generally a customer or two to chat with about your favorite hobby. All that with tons of scheduled theme nights (Warhammer being my personal favorite) and tournaments make this the perfect store for my family. The best toy/hobby store in Petaluma. They have a wide selection of items ranging from simple model sets, to Gundams robots (gunpla),Legos, Playmobiles, Warhammer and more. If you have a child with you you'll have a difficult time pulling them away from the dozens of interactive toy and game selections. I'm a certified nerd, and I always go to every Magic the Gathering Prerealese/Launch party every few months. In the meantime Fundemonium has a thriving MTG scene on Fridays at about 5:00. There are also plenty of other events to suit every interest, including Hobby clubs, War game groups, and RC racers. If you've haven't been to the store in a while you might be surprised to know that its no longer called Hobbytown. The current owners worked as part of the franchise and eventually bought the store for themselves, I'm still having a hard time not calling it by its former name :). The staff is great and so are the owners, they all care about their work and uniformly very friendly and knowledgeable. If you're a hobbier, a modeler, a gamer, or just someone with a good sense of their inner child visit Fundomemonium and I guarantee you won't regret it read more

My boys recently had their birthday party here, and everyone had a blast. The kids had free run of the place to check out toys, did race cars/slot cars, and enjoyed the play area. The staff was friendly and attentive and didn't rush us out at the end of our designated party time like most places do. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun birthday party idea for your kids. read more

Sadly, it is hard to give even 1 star. We recently purchased an RC car and accessories, spending over $800. We were recommended here by our sons and their friends...all RC car owners. We love the RC car (only reason for a 1 star) and the service was great when we were spending money. However, the battery was defective and when we tried to return it the shop would not warranty the battery and could not prove to my husband how it was damaged. They basically said we don't sell bad batteries, you blew it up. This came from both the salesman "jason" and the owner "steve". My husband explained to them (even showed them) how he hooked it up. They finally said "the manufacturer" would warranty 50% of it, but they would do nothing more. The store will not stand behind the product they sold. Normally I would shrug this off, but when Jason actually called my husband a liar today, I find it necessary to write this review and voice what poor customer service this is. Even if we were in the wrong, there is a right and a wrong way to handle this. Telling a customer to their face in the store they are lying is not how we run our businesses or how we want to be treated when we buy local. Glad this business is out of Petaluma now. We will be taking our business elsewhere going forward. read more

What a disappointment. Went in today with my 4 year old son and his grandparents to scope out the possibility of hosting his 5th birthday party here. My son went right for the lego table to play and was PROMPTLY told that he needed to ask his parents to pay the $7 fee. We were the only ones in the store. Clearly, the employee was more interested in getting the $7 than the potential hundreds the out-of-town grandparents would have spent on birthday toys. Truly a shame, because Grandpa was shopping in the RC section! We wouldn't mind paying the $7, but really didn't feel a folding table with the same legos we have at home was worth the price. Not to mention, the train table and slot cars are an extra fee. On the positive side, large selection of toys, models, and RC in a convenient location...I'd consider coming back if I was in the area and needed something of the sort, but wouldn't make a special trip or have a party here. read more

Went here because I saw a recommended page on my Facebook announcing that they had just gotten in a new stock of Gundam kits. What their picture failed to show was the insane mark-up on them. I'm fine with paying a little extra to support local businesses, especially when they seem as loved as this one, but for the price they wanted for any of the Real Grade kits I could have bought two from nearly ANY store online and had them shipped to my front door. One of the points of the Real Grade line of Gundam kits is to have the build quality of the Master Grade and scale and affordable prices of the High Grade line. I could have bought a larger scale 1/100 Master Grade Zaku 2 and gotten a larger model for about $10 cheaper than what they wanted for a 1/144 Real Grade Zaku 2. And it isn't like they have a flat mark up on all their Gundam kits: regular 1/144 High Grade kits were "only" around $30-$35, still much cheaper than their asking price for 1/144 Real Grade kits. read more

I visited this store for the first time and purchased a hobby RC car. The employee's are uninterested in approaching and helping customers from my initial visit but I still gave them a chance. I am glad I did! Although I think the staff needs some customer service training the owner is above and beyond helpful. I would highly recommend supporting this hobby shop so it's around in the future. I noticed some table's while visiting and it may be set up for some MTG or board gaming as well. It seems like a great place to game compared to the cramped dingy shops I'm used to. A+ read more

Wow! All kinds of super fun stuff provided by nice people who care. Originally I balked at the price of an RT camp for my 9 year old grandson but it turned out to be a great value. He learned how to build an RT (remote control) car from scratch and, more importantly, left with increased self-esteem and confidence. Kudos to the teacher, Jason, and the whole management team for providing a fun place for our community. read more
