The view from the outside patio is beautiful, besides the construction directly next door on the boardwalk/pier (not at all to the fault of the restaurant or reflected in my rating, but still worth noting). We ordered the Calamari and the Alligator Bites to start (we tried to order the crab cakes and our server, who I will not name, looked at us seriously and told us not to) followed by the Conch Fritters and the Basket with Mahi and Shrimp (with Fries and Slaw). The Calamari was good, the Alligator Bites were good, the Mahi and Shrimp were good. The Conch Fritters were tough and borderline hard on some parts. Service was good, she did forget to get another water for my fiancé but did offer to go drinks.

Food was spectacular- fish and chips was a great serving that can be shared between two. Conch fritters were fresh and amazing along with the sauce provided. Garden salad with added chicken was YUM. Perfect location- amazing service and friendly atmosphere. 20/10 highly recommended :)))

This place was great. The patio area outside was nice, I sat at the bar and the young gentleman bartender was super friendly and great at his job. The view is great. The other guests were super friendly and I enjoyed just sitting out here munching and chatting for awhile. The food was great, the young man recommended the mojo pork fries when I asked his opinion for something tasty and FAST (my blood sugar had crashed HARD from going too long without eating) and just like he said, this came out super quick and hit all the right notes. He also recommended getting the sauces on the side to customize accordingly which was a great call because while the reddish sauce was good, the green sauce was fantastic. Some locals recommended this place and I am glad they did. I can't wait to try the fish and chips next time, which they also say are the best in the area. I'll definitely be back.

Expansive views of the pristine blue ocean and the Flagler Beach Pier draw you into this funky Florida beach bar, but the relaxed & fun atmosphere inside invites you to linger awhile. They offer a seasonally inspired menu with drink specials and Funky Hour is every day from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We started our bar crawl early that morning, so Katie, our spunky Barmaid, recommended the Funked Up Mary-A LOT of Tito's vodka, spicy Bloody Mary mix, topped with a chilled shrimp, a huge wedge of pepper jack cheese, briny green olives, a crispy cucumber slice, a crunchy celery stalk, a zesty pickle spear, a fun bright yellow curly straw and a very looooong Slim Jim all in a frosty 24oz mug with a tajín seasoned rim. It should've been called the FUNKED UP DAWNE.

Need to give you an update!! We have been going back regularly for the steamed shrimp. It's the best in the area super tender, great seasoning options. Ambiance is still the best views in town, even with the construction but it's not their fault. Service always good too

Friendly service. Food was good. I had mahi taco, it was good. He had shrimp tacos, he was very satisfied. A little pricy IMO for a lay back Beachy environment. Drinks tasted like pre-pore .. ehhh

Let's put it this way. EVERYBODY should make their appearance at the Funky Pelican. It's legendary. It's a landmark. I love the interior and the exterior... seeing that they are RIGHT ON THE BEACH... wow! and the beach is ROUGH... we are talking the Atlantic here.... it was stormy this day... so I got to see the power of the ocean very clearly. Surprised that hurricanes haven't taken this restaurant into the deep dark depths... hopefully never. I will always bring my friends to the Funky Pelican... because its a vibe

We decided to go to Funky Pelican this morning for breakfast. We got our table on the patio with the perfect view of ocean. Our server greeted us and took our drink order. I have water with lemon while my husband ordered coffee. When she brought us our drinks she took our food order. I ordered the Breakfast Sammy with scrambled egg, Swiss cheese, sausage on wheat toast and home fries. My husband ordered the Hash & Eggs, eggs over easy, home fries and wheat toast. While we were waiting on our food we scored high on the view with several dolphins going by! Our food was very good, my sandwich was very tasty and the home fries were delicious very crispy with a great flavor. My husband said his corned beef hash was very good and he also agreed on the home fries. Our server was great and very friendly! Very good breakfast.

Not many people out n about so I couldn't really get a vibe for what the place would be like when it gets busy. But it was a great spot for breakfast and we sat on the rooftop area inside so it was covered from the rain, but I can't wait to go back someday for the outside ocean front deck, even closer to the water. I ordered the Irish Benedicte with hash that is homemade on premise with slow roasted corned beef. Very tasty. The side of Home fries were thinly sliced and I had gravy added to that so it was tasty too. Our server was excellent, Trevor was a very nice guy and he recommended we come back for the all you can eat ribs. I wish I was staying in town longer and I would. I ordered the grilled chicken and asparagus, which showcased the kitchen's skill. The grilled chicken was a mix of perfection and slight disappointment; one breast was cooked flawlessly, while the thinner piece was a bit dry, ultimately leading me to leave some behind. On the positive side, the asparagus was impeccable--tender yet crisp, a true highlight of the dish. To elevate my meal, I opted for the butter garlic sauce, which was nothing short of exceptional. Its rich flavor was a delightful addition, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, I found the extra charge of $3.00 for a portion that barely covered one chicken breast and two asparagus spears a bit disappointing. The sauce was so delectable that I ended up purchasing an additional container to take home for the asparagus I had left. **Beverages and Ambiance** The Beachy Sangria was another standout, offering a refreshing complement to my meal. It was perfectly balanced and added a delightful touch to our dining experience. The ambiance at Barnhill's is equally noteworthy. Dining outdoors provided us with stunning views of the waves breaking on the shore, making the meal feel even more special. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, enhancing our overall enjoyment. As for the service, it was good and our waitress was friendly. While there were a couple of minor issues, particularly with the chicken and the portion size of the sauce, the overall experience was delightful enough to warrant a return visit. The combination of scrumptious food, refreshing drinks, and a breathtaking view leads me to rate Barnhill's a solid 4 stars. I genuinely look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu.

The beef was incredibly tender, slow-braised in a rich red wine reduction with pearl onions and mushrooms. The cream potatoes underneath were smooth, buttery, and perfect for soaking up that sauce. Every bite was delicious. We started with the Filet Carpaccio, thinly sliced and topped with shaved parmesan, capers, arugula, and crostini. Fresh, light, and beautifully plated. The bar program deserves its own mention. You can order a vodka soda anywhere, but here they elevate every drink with presentation and detail. Instead of a simple lime wedge, I watched drinks come out with full lime rounds resting on the rim. My Chocolate Martini dessert drink was practically artwork -- topped with a dehydrated orange slice, chocolate shavings, orange zest, and crossed chocolate-dipped sticks. It looked incredible and tasted even better. Atmosphere is another win here. Guests ranged from cocktail dresses to casual beachside attire and somehow it all fit perfectly. That balance is hard to achieve, but they've nailed it. We sat on the patio (about 67°) and they had the panels down, which kept it comfortable while still letting you enjoy the beachside atmosphere. Even the hallway to the restrooms was lined with art -- thoughtful details everywhere. Some restaurants look great but don't deliver on flavor. Others taste great but lack atmosphere. We jokingly call it "our bar" because that's exactly how it feels....like home. From day one, everyone made us feel incredibly welcome. Mike and Lauren are the owners of Craves. Lauren was our very first bartender and immediately made us feel like regulars. Mike introduced himself that first evening while we were trying to navigate the parking lot (which can definitely fill up quickly during dinner hours, a testament to how popular Craves is!). We started out enjoying the upstairs bar before eventually finding our home downstairs. The bar staff is truly what sets Craves apart. Courtney, Emily, Monica, Bonnie, and Stephanie are all outstanding, and Lindsay has been an amazing addition to the team. Every visit is filled with friendly faces, great conversation, and exceptional service. Joe greeted us on our first visit and escorted us upstairs to the bar. He immediately noticed my husband's Philadelphia Eagles hat, and discovering they were both Eagles fans was an instant connection that made us feel even more at home. The food is simply incredible. In all the times we've dined here, we have never had a bad meal. In fact, whenever friends or family visit from out of town, Craves is always at the top of our list, and they consistently tell us it's some of the best food they've had. Some of our absolute favorites include the Prime Rib, the 4-ounce Filets, the Stuffed Flounder, the Salmon, and the Scallops & Shrimp Scampi served over pasta. Every dish is consistently delicious and beautifully prepared. Craves has truly become our go-to place, not just because of the amazing food, but because of the people. Mike and Lauren have created something special: a restaurant where guests quickly become family. There simply aren't enough great things I can say about Craves.
