I just recently purchased a set of furniture, couch, loveseat and recliner in a light sandy color from Furniture Row. The employees at the Selma location were very friendly and did not chase us around which is something I cannot stand when shopping so that was fantastic. Buying was easy and the couches came within the time frame we were told. The only reason for a four star versus five was because of the delivery. We have only great things to say about Furniture Row (Oak Express). We have purchased almost all of our house furniture from Furniture Row. They have great quality furniture at great prices. When we moved from California last year we bought many items, and now that we have purchased our new home we came back to purchase more items. One of the reasons why we came back was because of our experience with one of the sales consultants .. her name is Michelle. Since the moment we walked in she was super friendly and very helpful. She was very patient with all of our questions. We literally spent almost 5 hours and there she was helping us along the way. I remember when this place would have separate names on the stores. Denver Mattress, Oak Express, and so forth. I went into this store looking for a wood desk so that I could more room to store stuff. The desks they have were way too wide to fit in the area where I have room for. Some of the desk were nearly 6 feet long. Nothing was smaller than about 68 inches. It would be a tight fit for me to get out of the desk and not have to be squeezing out of the small space I have. read more

Less than two months in, we had a little mishap on two pieces involving topical flea\tick\heartworm medication for our dogs (dogs are no longer allowed on the couch)... called the store and spoke to Sherman about repairs and he said he would fix the pieces for FREE! BIG thanks to Sherman and Sofa Mart! I bought two dining room chairs that were being discontinued. They had to be ordered from a different store because we wanted a darker finish. They told us at the time of purchase that at the most it would take three weeks to get them from Killeen. FIVE weeks later we still can't get a straight answer out of them. My husband and I have both called numerous times and gone by the store. The sales people seem very concerned, tell us that they will figure out where the chairs are and that they will call us with information. We are still waiting on the call. I know the chairs were inexpensive and Furniture Row is not making much money on them, but it would be nice to get what I paid for five weeks ago. I Retired to Texas. Bought a brand new home. Went to furnish the 3 bd home. First my Mattress had to be replaced.it was coming a part. So I paid more to get a better one. Once I got passed every rude person possible at that location I took the time to complain face to face. Now the persons I spoke with were nice. Offering money back. I didn't want money, I just wanted Respect. I waited for my SPECIAL ORDER sectional. I all of a sudden have Cockroaches and scorpions in my brand new built house. I then noticed all my furniture came from Vietnam. I'm having exterminators trying to alleviate my cock roach problem. I can't believe brand new furniture brand new house scorpions and cockroaches are because they didn't unpack it at the store they brought it in my house and unpacked it. I am so disappointed. I came here with cash in hand. Starting over. I would never wish Roaches on anyone. This is the 4th time I am out of pocket for BUGS. I just feel bad I can't even believe this. So this review is only based on the customer service, as I have not received my product yet - so this is why they are only getting 4 stars right now. When I walked in I was greeted right away from Corey Frederieks in the Sofa Mart section. He was very friendly and ended up being extremely helpful in helping me with what I was looking for. He cut my time in half. He was very knowledgeable about the furniture. He was not pushy at all. So I got his card and he walked me over to the section with the tables/chairs. I then started working with Michelle Salakka. Michelle was also very helpful in getting me exactly to what I was looking for in a table/chairs. She then printed me spec sheets for the products I liked. I made a decision the next day and called the store and ordered both items on the phone. Very convenient. All I need to do now is go in and sign on the dotted line before the product is delivered. Hopefully my product will come in and it will be as easy as the buying!!! Thanks! read more

Sofa Mart has one of the best, if not the best selection in the San Antonio area. There prices are generally good and much better when on sale. Their best bargains are their "returns (used?) furniture. We bought a sofa that looked new for $500 off the regular price! Seems a section Velcro on the back was not sewn in during manufacture, and a cord missing, were the only issues. Customer service is very good and the sales team not pushy. Now for the bad. We also bought 2 chairs with footstools the same time as the sofa. Every screw in all 4 items was loose! Some to the point of almost falling out. The chairs were from China so i assume they were assembled poorly somewhere here in the US. Probably at their main warehouse in Houston or Louisiana. Had these not been checked and heavily used, they would have surely fallen apart within days! Since the chairs were not in stock at the local store, it took a week to get them from the warehouse then another week to get the last 8 miles to our house. Also took a week for the sofa which they had in stock to go 8 miles. When you are paying $89 for delivery, you would think they could be quicker. Although we are overall happy with our purchase, next time we will be less likely to buy from Sofa Mart. read more

I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. HORRIBLE SERVICE. I am still waiting on a piece to my couch I ordered in the beginning of December. It is now the beginning of April. They did say the couch was going to take 45 -60 days to arrive. But did NOT tell me that I would have to put 25% down in the beginning. Then if I decided to return the pieces in case they don't fit or I am guessing have issues like I am that it will be a 25% restocking fee. I am guessing it is high because so many people have had issues. It arrived a few days prior to 60 days. Apparently the furniture ships from Vietnam? They have messed up so many times. My couch came and one of the end side arm chairs was the opposite one a Left arm chair instead of the Right arm chair. Plus two cushions had shaving like marks on them. I asked those to be replaced So he said it would take an additional 30 days to give me that piece well that was February 3rd. I talked to a guy who said they would have the lady who does the service tickets call me. Did she nope! Then he said he would call back he did not. I gave them a week so I called explained everything and that I needed a call back still nothing. So finally the guy calls me a week later. We have your piece now when can we deliver it? As soon as possible I said. I then asked for a discount since my couch didn't come "brand new" and missing a piece. He said he would talk to his manager and call me back. He called me back that same day. And said his manager could give me a little more than half of what that piece would cost and that they can put it back on our financing I said NO put it back on my card the one I had to put the 25% down on that you didn't tell me about. I figured that was all I was going to get so I took it. Oh then I asked if my 2 back cushions were ordered he said looks like only 1 was I said well you better add the other one then. Oh but what happened he tells me I am sorry but it turns out your piece is actually NOT HERE AFTER ALL!!! IT will be another 30 days to get here. SERIOUSLY!! So apparently it wasn't ordered in the first place. Meanwhile I said my couch is being used and the end cushion keeps falling off since there is no piece next to it and I said we are messy people but I don't want all the pieces to be warn in and this one be the odd ball. He says well just sit in it more. Come on. They say if you get the piece you see in the store it will be delivered in 1-2 weeks but get a "Special Order" meaning you want a different color or different arrangement forget it! Wait 4 months then maybe you will. So they guy calls and leaves no msg. I don't answer calls I don't recognize. Then he calls again but this time leaves a message. I hadn't gotten back to him yet so I call this morning after the weekend. And say I need to schedule a delivery for a piece I have been waiting on for 3 months. They guy on the line says ooohh. I then ask if the 2 pieces I ordered for the back cushions that were messed up were with the order. He says he doesn't know he can't tell. Well last time the guy could tell. He said he will wait until the sales guy who sold it to us was back in 2 days and that he would have him talk to the manager. Today is Monday they scheduled the delivery for this Friday. When they left a message he said they could deliver Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. hard to believe they filled up that fast. I am so disappointed in this company and how LONG this process it has been. I have friends who were waiting to see how my process went to see if they were going to go there for a new couch. They obviously won't be going here. They have been polite in all of this but seriously the wait is a joke. I feel they could have been more apologetic and offered something to me in return for such bad service. I had to be the one to practically demand a discount. This is not how a company should treat it's customers. I will NEVER go back to this store again. I was planning on buying new bedroom furniture and other things. FORGET IT!!! This place is the worst! I ordered a couch, was told it would take 6-8 weeks to be ready, and then when I called, they said it would be ready WAY after that with the excuse that it was a "custom order" even though there was nothing truly custom about it, we just picked fabric out of the book they provided. They then called me to tell me it would be ready within the timeframe they originally said, but when it was delivered, we find out it's the wrong color! We ordered a blue couch, but the man we ordered it with didn't know that "cerulean" means blue, and ordered "water lily" instead. Now we have to wait while they order ANOTHER couch, in the right color. They offered to let us keep the green couch until we can switch, but honestly this shouldn't have happened in the first place, and now I'm wondering if they will try and sell this green couch, which will have had our butts on it for 6-8 weeks, as a new couch! I knew what I was getting and what I was paying. But do not be fooled into think that "MDF" is real wood. A little oak trim and a lots of fiberboard. And that is OK if that is all you want. If I could give a lower rating I would. I received a call this morning from a woman telling me her name was Lisa. Notified me that my furniture was ready for pick up. I explained to her that I needed it delivered as I am in a wheelchair, I also let her know I needed the furniture set up. She did not respond instead was focused on billing me for the delivery. I was not told this when I called to inquire about the furniture. I was told it was going to the Ingram store. She called me Mrs. three times after I kept telling her my name was John which she would have noticed if she looked at the order. She became belegerent at which time I asked for her full name, she replied Lisa 275. I asked for her supervisor she then hung up on me. I called back from the number on my caller Id. I recognized her voice and asked Lisa275 I need to speak to your supervisor. She hung up on me again. I was not disputing the delivery charge. However I am disputing her rude behavior. I called again and spoke to Alex and Jewel which both were very helpful. I bought close to 3grand from this store. I decided to cancel my order, you can thank Lisa275 for that. You have a very nice web site but with employees like that, you will lose customers. One last thing I know calls are recorded or notes made on the order ticket to identify this Lisa275. read more
