Another great local spot on Park Ave. Ramen bowls, hibachi bowls, kimchi, and more! Service was quick and pleasant. Drinks were strong and tasty! The only complaint was that the Ramen broth wasn't hot enough. My hibachi bowl came with tasty veggies. I asked for no rice or rice on the side and there was still a bit of rice at the bottom of the bowl. We'd definitely return in the future! read more

Always have had a great experience here! I frequent here often with friends and the tempura fried green beans are our fav! The ambiance is usually nice and quite (which I appreciate) and service has always been fast and friendly. Food is hot and usually served quick as well! I went to Furoshiki for my first time this past Friday night. The atmosphere is cute and it is a bit cozy inside, so I would highly recommend making reservations. We sat right by the window, and I didn't find it terribly cold as I am always chilly near windows . I started off with one of their alcoholic drinks, which was perfect as it wasn't too sweet, but the name has escaped me. For dinner, I had the pork buns, as well as pork bone broth ramen with extra noodles. So I had never had true ramen before, and this was just out of this world! Every bite was filled with yummy goodies and it was cooked perfectly. The portion was quite large and I ended up taking back half of it for dinner the next day. Overall, a really wonderful experience and I will definitely be back!! 10/10! read more

Furoshiki is a constant favorite of mine and a place I regularly go to when I'm craving cheap, good eats. By cheap I don't mean poor quality, just reasonable prices. I have to admit that I usually order the same thing -- gyoza appetizer (fried pork dumplings) and chicken ramen -- but that's because it's always so good. I've always found the servers to be very friendly and accommodating. I love the decor inside and the outside seating area in the summer. It's situated in one of the busier parts of Park Ave so it's great for people watching while you eat. The ramen itself is delicious and full of flavor. The portion is huge and I usually end up taking some of it home. I always order the spice bomb as well, and while I think it's got a great kick I don't think it's too overpowering. That being said, I had a friend try it who apparently didn't have as much spice tolerance as I did and she thought it was too hot. Caveat emptor, I guess, depending on your spice tolerance. Oh, I've also had the chicken hibachi and it's wonderful. Again, good-sized portion and very filling. The fried rice isn't exactly what I think of when I think of fried rice -- I can't quite describe it, but it doesn't seem to be fried, more like slightly more flavorful than regular rice. Not complaining though because I still think it's delish. I also order this with a spice bomb mixed in. Other things I've tried that have been very good: - Lettuce Wraps - Tempura Fried Green Beans - Crispy Chicken Bites All in all, Furoshiki advertises as "Asian Comfort Food" and I couldn't agree more. I love going here for a warm bowl of tasty ramen whenever the craving hits or I don't have time to cook. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is relaxed. The servers and manager are all really friendly and I feel right at home when I come here. I live ordering the miso ramen with pork broth and chicken, with some extra market vegetables added in. Can be a little tough to find parking sometimes but there's a couple parking lots around and today I was lucky to find street parking right across the street. read more

Everything about this little gem strikes the perfect balance. The service, welcoming, kind, and confident without hovering. The ramen (pork bone ramen with kim chi is a must), the fragrant bowl served perfectly giving Tampopo a run for its money. The music underscoring the meal was alternative pop from 2000-2010 and was a welcome change from corporate tracks. This place was a delightful find for a rainy day lunch for two. I will make one note regarding the fried tofu - there was a rogue fried calamari ring in with the tofu order, which wasn't a problem to us, but may be of note to someone with a seafood allergy of some kind. We ordered take out from Furoshiki and it was good. The steamed pork buns and friend pork dumplings were the highlight of our meal. They were very good. We also had the Asian bbq spare ribs, chicken hibachi with fried rice, and Okinawa Soba. The ribs were cooked really nicely. The meat fell off the bone, but could have used a bit more sauce. The hibachi and soba were okay compared to some others we have had. We didn't love the sauces that the soba and rice were cooked it. The delivery was very fast and everything was packaged nicely. read more

We were told that the only option for it was one made out of romin and when we looked outside one of the tables had a burger with a actual hamburger bun. Two words...RAMEN BURGER. More please! This burger was not what I imagined, which made it more appealing to me. The med-rare burger was sandwiched between buns made of ramen that were crisped on the outside, soft on the inside. I dipped it in the side sauce and it added to the flavor of the burger. It can get a little messy after a few bites, but it was finger-lickin' good! I prefer strong flavors and the pork bone ramen was far from bland. Their spice bomb should be taken literally. I like heat, but the broth was overpowered by the kick that it was hard to taste the true flavor of the broth. I could taste the flavor of the pork trying to come through but the spiciness muted it. Next time, I'll try the regular pork bone to get the flavor. The pork belly buns were mildly seasoned so I thought it fell flat until I felt a crunch. It was an interesting texture change with the addition of pickle slices and it added more flavor that was missed on the pork belly. I like the concept. If you get a bite with bun, pork, and pickle together, it's good. The bun itself was disappointing because it didn't come out fluffy; more so pinched and prodded,but still soft. The service was fast, friendly and personable. Even though they were busy, the waiters took their time to suggest or explain dishes to me. Overall, the ramen burger blew me away and I will be back for more! read more

We had lunch here today and loved the food! My husband got the hibachi and I got the miso ramen with pork belly. We sat at the bar and ate/had a few drinks. The place is so cozy and comfortable. Jose was behind the bar and working the tables- really great service from Jose! Not to mention a really nice guy. I was here for lunch on a weekday and it was packed. I got to try a couple different things. First, the fried tofu bites. They were okay, heavily seasoned with salt and black pepper. Second, the kale salad. It was good, especially with the mandarin slices and house wasabi ginger dressing. Next, I had half a ramen burger but couldn't finish it. The beef patty was very thick and the ramen buns were not helping. The texture was a little off too, it was too soft and not very crispy or crunchy. Last, the pork bone ramen. I had high hopes for this one, but it did not deliver. The broth was lackluster. And broth is everything. Overall, it wasn't too bad for a Park Ave eatery. I've been to Furoshiki a few times and it gets better each time. Nice to have this Asian fusion restaurant on Park Ave.The Ramen in the wintertime is a great way to feel cozy and warm. Taste was good but nothing exceptional, if you are an avid ramen consumer, I would say there are better restaurants in Rochester. I personally like the Miso Ramen and always have had enough leftovers to take home for another meal. Lettuce wraps are great in the summertime. I've only had the tofu. Pork Belly Buns are doughy but good. Overall, pretty average as far as food goes in my opinion, but the location is great. read more

Quite unfortunately, this place nails it in every aspect, besides the food. Absolutely beautiful space, cool logo, real friendly service. But the food was so bland, mediocre, and obviously microwaved, that I couldn't have been more disappointed. I have to admit that the only reason we came here, was because of the Late Night Happy Hour Specials advertised on their website. $3 select beers, wines, and sake after 9pm; I mean, that sounds AMAZING. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed when we were informed that there was no such thing. Their website hadn't been updated in 3 years. THERE WAS NO LATE NIGHT HAPPY HOUR. This was a bit annoying, but figured we'd still give them a try. We went for the tofu and veggie hibachi, and it came out in probably 5 minutes. That's never a good sign. There was absolutely no flavor, the tofu had a strange taste, and the "spice bomb" which cost an additional $1, was not unique and could have been store bought. I really wanted to like Furoshiki, but I must say that the sub-par food will likely prevent me from ever returning. read more

Ordered steak hibachi dish, and it was inedible. The rice was greasy and tasteless. The steak and grilled vegetable were also greasy and had this boxed rice a roni flavor. In a word: awesome. We were seated right away, and our server, Marissa, was great at recommending things we might like since it was our first visit. Since we wanted to try a bit of everything, we ordered the lettuce wraps with tofu and the fried green beans. The green beans were tasty, though the lettuce wraps with their slightly spicy sauce were fun and different. We both ordered the veggie ramen bowl, which was filled with tons of fresh veggies (cabbage, scallions, two types of peppers). Portions are big and the food is filling! This is no Cup O Noodles. I took most of my ramen to go. I highly recommend the spice bomb as it added a lot of flavor. My husband and I ordered one to split, and it was plenty of spice for me (though he said he wouldn't have minded a full spice bomb to himself next time). Though the cocktails looked great, I decided on a glass of the Snap Dragon Riesling. I'm no wine pairing expert, but thought it went really well with my semi-spicy ramen. Food was delivered quickly and Marissa was on the ball with water/wine/napkin refills. The icing on the cake was that they played Led Zeppelin the entire time we were there. I would have probably given them a 5-star rating based on that alone, though the service and food were 5-star as well. I can't wait to go back and try something else. Furoshiki is a great place for a decent bowl of ramen. I love a spicy bowl of ramen and they have the option to add a "spice bomb", which is usually spicy enough for me. They are pretty close to nailing it with their ramen, with their major flaw being that the cabbage is sometimes vastly undercooked, making it kind of gross sitting in the broth. Their buns are also delicious and you can't go wrong putting in an order of those! Their other food options seem to be lacking though. Personally, I have never ordered anything else besides ramen and buns, but from seeing other people order their dishes do not look very appetizing. Additionally, I wish they had a way to reserve a table, especially for busy nights like Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. They do have a nice list of beers and drinks available, and have good happy hour specials and late night drink specials. read more
