Since the movements are low-impact, it is perfect for new moms whose bodies are still healing and recovering. The classes are still challenging, but I can definitely tell that I am getting stronger. I still have a long journey ahead of me to get back into my pre-baby shape, but I am so glad I chose pure barre to do it. All the instructors/staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. They make sure to fix your forms. Every instructor/class has different styles so the classes are never the same, never boring. As I prepare to go back to work, I do wish there were later class times. As of now, 7pm is the latest. Finally, it is a great work out environment; it's very inspiring and motivating to be able to work out surrounded by so many strong ladies!

The instructor was nice and upbeat. Gave MANY hands on corrections which was appreciated but a bit uncomfortable at times. I did not know she would be touching places such as my chest and butt. Usually in my yoga classes we are asked if we are comfortable being touched and given corrections. However that was not communicated at this studio and the hands on nature was immediate and a bit uncomfortable for someone who was not prepared for it. Especially in more private areas such as the butt. Class was great- very hard and may be tough for beginners. Overall I do not think I will return given the price and the atmosphere.

I got through the class mostly by following the experienced women in front of me, which worked out, but I left wishing I understood the terminology and proper form a bit better. I think I'll build up my basics elsewhere before coming back, so I can get more out of the experience next time. And you'd never book as the third. This means that you can't actually get the work out you want cause it's booked by that one person a lot. I give it a two stars cause they do try but their tech is broken and the concept doesn't fully work. We canceled our contract early and we regret ever signing up.

Parking is a toss up - we parked at the museum across the street and walked over. Pretty easy, but sometimes we're lucky and get a spot on the street right by the splash pad. I do like that the splash pad is complete enclosed by a gate though! It's a fun place to visit and it's mostly (if not all the way) shaded for the kids. Certain parts of the seating for guardians gets blasted by the son, but the kids seem pretty protected from the rays!

Emily's barre class is one that no matter what level you are at you benefit. Whether you have some ballet training or have never stepped into a dance class. The age range is a plus, 16-55+. For other instructors, zumba is a form of pure fitness and exercise. For Cassaundra, she really dives into the dance aspect of it and makes it really fun for all of her students. When she teaches, her students get really into it and motivates each other. I really like Cassaundra's choreography. She's an accomplished dancer so she knows all the good hip hop, salsa, Latin, etc... moves. The best thing about her zumba is that she doesn't just stick to boring songs made just for zumba. She uses current top billboard songs that you hear on the radio; it's funner that way because students can relate to it more and when we hear it on the radio in the car, it just makes us want to zumba and dance. I have taken both reformer pilates and mat pilates from her and I have to tell you that you will not find a better instructor than Jennifer Shelton.
