Met my friend for lunch on this nice Saturday at Fusion Japanese in Madison. We were the only ones in there, and service was top notch. I love when you can get lunch specials on Saturday. I ordered the lunch Ginger Delight with tofu and a spring roll. I asked for medium but the cook must be heavy handed, as it was more on the hot hot side. Excellent flavor though and the ginger sauce set off the rice nicely. read more

Chicken satays was dry and the chicken wasn't seasoned. Not bad, just not good. I got my food to go. Very disappointed

We were late for dinner and reached the restaurant at 9.10 pm ; with closing time of 9.30 pm. I hate doing it, but it did happen today. The owner /our server was nice and let us dine in. We have tried other Thai restaurants near by, but their spring roll stand out for us. We also tried tofu, which was also decent. We ordered Pad See Ewe and cashew nut Thai entree with tofu. Both amazingly delicious. Place is hug with bar near the entrance followed by booth and tables. There were about 4 families sitting there. All in all a great experience. I prefer the Flowood location... this one pretty good. The menu has many options, the service is great and the price is right. The food is pretty good. I go here often because it has many vegetarian choices. The Thai spring rolls are consistently delicious and I would recommend. The pad kee mao is my usual order. Last time I got it, the spice and flavor wasn't perfect. This trip I tried the pineapple fried rice and it was tasty. I think I could've used more spice too, so I'll be asking for the spice rack in future visits. read more

"Ate" lunch here today. No, actually didn't eat lunch. Ordered the green curry medium spice level. I don't know if the cook was new or had no idea what they were doing but I have eaten curry dishes at numerous Thai restaurants over the years including Fusion numerous times and this was the most bland tasteless concoction I've ever had. I took two bites, the second to confirm the blandness of the first and called the waiter over. He was reasonably nice about it and of course didn't bill for the dish but I had to say something here because it was just that bad. My brother had a stir fry dish that was OK. I mean really. This place is rarely crowded probably due to the overall quality of the food and the kind of dank dark ambience. I really wish it was good because Madison is a little short when it comes to the restaurant scene anyway and this place could be a nice uplift but it just isnt. My second review of this restaurant. The Thai food here is great- chicken larb, red curry, even the miso soup were all very good. There typically aren't a lot of people in the restaurant at one time, so don't let that scare you off. Only one person was working all the tables but she did a good job taking orders, filling drinks and kept the food coming out in a timely manner and never missed a beat. read more

For my first visit to a Thai restaurant, I usually get Pad Thai - to test their waters. You could even say that I judge a Thai restaurant based off of their Pad Thai (not sure why though). Today, I decided to be adventurous and get the Pad Kee Mao for my first Fusion Cuisine experience. While it wasn't bad, per say, it did leave a lot left to be desired. The noodles were plain and very greasy, with close to no seasonings and flavor. When I called in my order, I mentioned that I would prefer the spiciness level to be milder. Well it was definitely mild...probably the mildest you could possibly make it. Just saying. The lunch combination came with an egg roll, which was also alright. We went in on Sunday around 12:30 in the afternoon. The dining room was about 1/3 full including two large tables. After we waited about 10 minutes, they seated the couple in front of us. 10 minutes later they said it'd be a few minutes. After about 5 more minutes they came back and said they didn't know how long the food would take. I think they were basically encouraging us to leave because they were short staffed. It worked. We live close by and have tried Fusion multiple times. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!! The food is not horrible but the cleanliness and service is absolutely horrible. The staff and owner are always rude and never kind when we come in. We have placed orders and 1:45 minutes later they finally have the order read and have missing meals and then say it will be another 15-20 minutes. I LOVE Thai food! My mother is Thai and I was born in Bangkok although I've lived in the South for 40+ years. I like to visit any Thai spots when I travel and was excited to try this place based upon reviews. Larp Gai is one of my favorite dishes and this version was pretty tasty, BUT unfortunately I was immediately corrected on my "incorrect" pronunciation when "Keith" was taking my phone order. Larp is pronounced as Laap, but he was quick to point out that I was incorrect and that I needed to pronounce the "R". I was rather stunned by "Keith's" rudeness and ignorance to incorrectly "correct" the proper pronunciation of the Thai dish. I still give the dish a 4 for flavor because it was well-prepared, but "Keith" should learn his menu and the Thai language before feeling the need to correct a paying customer. *Keith was the name on the receipt. read more

This is my favorite Thai restaurant! In actuality, they offer Japanese, Thai, and other oriental dishes. But my absolute favorite is the Masaman curry with chicken. It is absolutely delicious and it's hard to try new things on the menu because of this! The service is really friendly and welcoming too. I've never felt like I was waiting too long for my food. I was absolutely surprised that I've never been to this place and I pass it every weekend. I wanted to try something similar to lo mein so I ordered the Pad Thai noodles. They were amazing and then I ordered the chicken wings and the egg rolls. Everything was incredible! This is my first time eating Thai food and I have to say I really enjoyed it. This place is truly a hidden gem. Food was spicy but also delicious. I would recommend getting it mild or medium and definitely try their pink sauce. Best pink sauce I've ever had. One of the better Thai restaurants around. They have a solid pad thai. If you've never had Thai food, a great introductory dish is pad thai. Their service is good, but sometimes it takes them a few minutes to greet you and seat you. Both Fusion in Madison and Flowood are excellent places to eat some tasty Thai. Beware that some of it can be spicy, but I like it that way. I I've stuck with the Thai menu on my few visits, but the Sushi and Japanese hibachi selections look great as well. The pricing is very reasonable, and the food is always fresh and delicious. This place is so underrated but it's absolutely amazing. I lean towards the Thai food and it's so good. The quality is pretty great considering the price which is reasonable for the large amount you get. I've had their yellow curry, Thai fried rice, angel cheese roll, and spicy tuna roll. The yellow curry is so good, it's better than my mom's. Service is good too. I highly recommend this place. I even tried Thai tea for the first time and it's soooo good and I don't even like tea.
