Tried this place while visiting the college campus, which is right across the street. The staff in the food truck are very friendly and it was nice to see some fellow Peruvians in College Station. As for the food- WOW. the steak sandwich was huge and so flavorful. The meat had been marinated and I savored it until he very last bite. My husband the vegetarian had the black bean burger and said it was the best veggie burger he had in his life! It was a huge portion and was seasoned to perfection. My son had the chaufa rice and told me it was just as good if not better than any chaufa he had in Peru! The portion was humongous and easily fed two. Prices are reasonable. Truly a Latin America-soul food place, if I may. I had Lomo Saltado (sautéed beef with onions and tomatoes) accompanied with white steamed rice and fries. My 2 y.o had a chicken Causa Limeña (mashed potatoes with chicken filling) topped with a tasty mild sauce. I honestly wouldn't know what authentic Peruvian food tastes like , but what I do know is that it is delicious and fairly priced! I had the machu burger and it was soo good! The fried egg and the sauce they put brings so much flavor. I also added the fries, they were a little too soft and under seasoned for my liking but you definitely get your money's worth. I ate as many as I could and still had plenty of fries left over. I went around 1:30 so there wasn't a line only a few people ahead of me. I'll definitely be back to try other menu items. They're also on Hooked so you can save money there. Give the regular restaurant chains a break and try this food truck for lunch or dinner! read more

Just tried their Salchipapa for the first time and I am hooked. They put a fantastic sauce on the fries. I think this is my new favorite place to go for take out lunch. Just ate here and it was wonderful. Amazingly quick for a dish cooked fresh to order. I had the lomo saltado with beef and it was 100% wonderful. I guess I've never been to Peru.....but my Peruvian office mate says that the owner cooks very well and she goes there multiple times per week. So that's saying something... Trailer food with Peruvian cuisine, quite rare in this college city. Worth trying. We had the salchipapas, which I recommend for those students on a budget, this dish could became your staple. Also had a generous chicharron sandwich, very good and filling. Tuna burger was for my vegetarian daughter which she loved. Lomo Saltado and Seco were the other dishes which were also quite an enjoyment. The prices are on the low side, quite appropriate for the area, full of students. Food was good! I got the beef arroz chaufa and I wish it had more beef in it and the rice was slightly less greasy but overall it met my fairly high expectations! The "fusion" green sauce was much spicier than I had anticipated but very flavorful. Service was fine and everything was good! This is the first Peruvian restaurant in College Station, and I am so excited to say that the food is delicious. I have tried many Peruvian restaurants throughout the US and in Peru, and this one offers some of the best Lomo Saltado, Tamales, Arroz Chaufa (which comes with real chicken), Arroz con Mariscos, among other dishes I have already tried. Also delicious is the Machu Picchu Burger, an original invention of the house. Although the place is not the fanciest one, the food is great, the prices are more than reasonable, and you can easily share most of the dishes since the portions are very generous. The service is simple, informal and super friendly, mostly run by the chef and his family. I am so excited that College Station has finally a Peruvian restaurant, and even more excited that it offers many authentic and delicious Peruvian dishes. read more

I've heard about this food truck for a while from my puertoricans friends at TAMU. They mentioned that it is one of the best lunch experiences they've had while in College Station and it was my turn to go and try it, and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Lomo Saltado Beef plate and it reminded me of Puerto Rico and how our latino roots mix and makes us feel at home. It an experience of food worth any wait and any amount of money. They even have a couple of benches with umbrellas for lunch time. The Pan con Chicharron had flavorful pork and sweet potato. It was all delicious, though the Aji de Gallina stood out. One downside was that the dishes were a bit salty. And it was a bit carb-heavy, e.g., the burger was topped with fries, the beef came with fries and rice, the chicken came with potatoes & rice, and the pork sandwich used a sizable bread. This review has been a long time coming. I first began my love affair with Fusion Peru as many good love stories have started in College Station: after a night out at NG. The Arroz Chaufa (which I have drunkenly tried to convince them to name wiener fried rice many times - unsuccessfully thankfully) and the Salchipapas are fabulous. I became a evangelist preaching the late night dates coming from the red food truck in the gas station parking lot. All of my friends got on board. The portions are large and the prices are great. When they got the brick and mortar location I was really worried it wouldn't be the same as the food truck, and also that it might not be as good when I had less liquid enthusiasm in my system. BUT CAN CONFIRM it is still fantastic if not better in the restaurant (and sober)! You really have to try it.
