On our recent trip to the Chicago area, we stopped by the newly opened Subah Cafe. The café has a bright, modern atmosphere with a clean design and welcoming ambiance that makes it perfect for a relaxed breakfast or brunch outing. We started with the Southwest Heat Omelet, packed with flavorful ingredients and just the right amount of spice. The omelet was hearty, loaded with vegetables and meat, and paired perfectly with crispy hash browns. We also tried the Turkey Club, which was stacked high with fresh ingredients and served with a generous portion of fries. It was simple, satisfying, and executed really well. For something sweet, we ordered the Nutella Strawberry Waffles and Strawberry Nutella Crepes, and both were outstanding. The fresh strawberries, rich Nutella, and perfectly cooked waffles and crepes made for an indulgent treat without being overly sweet. The presentation was beautiful, and every bite was delicious. These menu items are among the café's featured waffle and crepe offerings. The drinks were equally enjoyable, from the expertly crafted latte with beautiful latte art to the refreshing strawberry matcha, which was as visually appealing as it was tasty. Overall: Subah Cafe delivers a great combination of atmosphere, quality food, and presentation. Whether you're craving a savory breakfast, a hearty sandwich, or a sweet brunch treat, this spot has something for everyone. If you're in the Lombard area and looking for a fresh brunch destination, Subah Cafe is definitely worth a visit.

I really wanted to love this place. We are visiting from out of town and stumbled upon this halal breakfast spot. We came in asked about the free parking they have advertised for at the door the lady at the front said it's easier (for them) if we park in the plaza next door :/ ok we did .. we ordered coffee took long when we asked the waiter said that barista is new :/ then we ordered food, we were 6 and 3 orders came wrong ( we didn't fight back cause we were in a rush to travel) we ordered protein omelette without cheese (came with cheese) grilled chicken wrap not spicy (came spicy) with side of fries (she got waffle fries and it was for extra fees:/) we all left disappointed honestly and gratuity was added in the bill as a must! So we didn't eat half of what we ordered but paid way more...

Came to Subah Cafe right when they opened at 7 AM and honestly had such a good experience. The place was super cute and very clean, and the staff was incredibly nice and welcoming from the moment we walked in. I noticed they're on OpenTable, but at that hour the restaurant was pretty empty so reservations definitely didn't seem necessary. Parking can be a little tricky since it's on a corner intersection, but there's street parking nearby and I believe there's also a parking garage in the area. For food, we got the steak fajita skillet and the walnut banana pancakes. I had actually heard mixed reviews about the skillet before coming, but I ended up really liking it. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. It's honestly nice having another halal breakfast/brunch option in the Lombard area. The walnut banana pancakes were also really tasty and had great flavor. Only small downside was the orange juice wasn't fresh squeezed, which was a little disappointing, but overall everything else made up for it. Great food, great service, and a really nice atmosphere. I'd definitely come back!

We decided to try out the recently opened Subah Cafe on Memorial Day since we were in the area. We went at lunchtime and parked down the street. Double check that you park somewhere that's allowed. Subah has a nice corner location. The interior is spacious and looks nice overall. It has a farmhouse look. The black & white theme was nice, but the fake brick wallpaper looked cheesy. It was relatively busy when we went (1 pm), and pretty loud because the sound really travels. When I reviewed the menu, I was a little surprised at the high prices, but a fancy halal breakfast/lunch place is rare. Still, $7.50 for a cappuccino is expensive, as that's a basic drink that some coffee shops offer for $4 to $5. Anyway, we ordered a sweet chorizo skillet, a Reuben sandwich with waffle fries, and a burger & fries from the kids menu. The skillet was amazing. The eggs were cooked as I requested, it had plenty of veggies, and the chorizo had a nice kick. The sweet potatoes were a nice touch. The included pancakes were surprisingly good with a nice crispiness to them. They weren't the large, floppy, dry ones that other breakfast restaurants serve. The Reuben was pretty good, but my wife wanted more sauerkraut and sauce. The amount of meat was generous, though. Also, the waffle fries were excellent. The burger was underwhelming. I suppose this is to be expected, as the purpose of a kids menu is to keep the children satisfied enough to let the grownups eat in peace. The meat was dry, and it was just the patty and cheese in a bun. No mayo, ketchup, lettuce, etc. The fries with this dish were decent, but not as good as the waffle fries. Overall, it was a good meal. A little pricey for the sandwich. Decent service.

This review will be updated when the cafe is open for awhile because this place is brand new! So new that the floors are waxy and slippery, so be careful! The cafe has a coastal vibe and was packed when we went Thursday morning. The full menu is not available right now. Our table of 7 ordered coffee, fajita omelet, steak fajita skillet, sweet chorizo skillet, chorizo chilaquiles, Italian beef sandwich, grilled cheese from kids menu, and a biscuit and gravy. Coffee was bitter though but my nephew enjoyed his mocha cappuccino. The portions were perfectly sized, not too much or little, so you don't need to share an entree like you would at other breakfast places. Our food came randomly which is fine for new restaurants, but our toast and pancakes came out really late. My biscuit was dry but the gravy helped for sure, I don't think I would order the biscuit by itself. Parking is difficult so pay attention to when you arrive so you can use the parking left over after the morning rush for trains. Our server did not rush us which is nice. Upon check out, I asked to see the detailed bill. We were already charged tip but that was not clear until I asked for the detailed bill back screen. It said service and fees, I could not see what the fees were for. In terms of flavor, we would order the sweet chorizo skillet again and the steak fajita omelet! The buttermilk pancakes were worth the wait! I hope the coffee improves!

We had such a great time today the food was so special and well thought out I got the poblano omelette and subah pancakes so good I want it again! They just opened so things took some time and not every item is Available but I recommend being flexible since they just opened had a great time and can't wait for the pink guava pancakes. Just wish they were a tad fluffier since I am pancake obsessed.

    Mango Cloud Matcha

Our server Marwa was incredible she made sure to check on us throughout the meal asking us if we needed anything. The food itself was delicious but having a lovely conversation with Marwa was the highlight of the meal. I got the Steak Benedict & my friend had gotten the Shakshuka it was delicious. The matcha was heavenly & the steak was cooked to perfection I will be coming back to try it again.

We had a great experience at Subah Cafe! The food was fresh and flavorful, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was very friendly ,Definitely a place we would visit again and recommend to others!

    Breakfast

Good service. Busy spot. Drinks were really good. Savory breakfast was 10/10 we had chilaquiles and gyro skillet. Pistachio and red velvet pancakes were ok. Will definitely come back to try the lunch items!

I've been exploring more Middle Eastern cafés lately, and this one stood out in the best way. I ordered a V60, and honestly it was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had. You can see the care and attention they put into the process, from the precise brewing to serving it with a small pot so I could enjoy the rest at my own pace. The flavor was incredible, smooth and rich. I also tried the pistachio cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious perfectly balanced. Maybe a bit to much chocolate on topo. The presentation matched the taste, and it paired beautifully with the coffee. The café itself has a wonderful atmosphere thoughtfully decorated and very inviting. You can tell a lot of effort was put into creating a warm, stylish, and welcoming space. Between the excellent drinks, the tasty desserts, and the inviting vibe, I left very satisfied and already looking forward to coming back. The ambience is unmatched--cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. My husband and I used to live nearby, and some of our favorite memories are walking over on weekends with our pup, grabbing coffee, and sitting out front just enjoying the moment. I recently visited the Elmhurst Craft location for an event and had one of those experiences that just sticks with you. I was chatting with a barista about how much I love (and deeply miss!) the Equinox. She mentioned she was newer and hadn't tried it, but saw it in the recipe book and agreed it sounded amazing--which, for the record, it absolutely is (or was ). A little while later, she came running up to me asking if I was the one talking about the Equinox. When I said yes, she surprised me with an Equinox sticker she had dug up. Such a small, simple gesture--but it genuinely meant so much and made my entire night. To the Brewpoint leadership team: that moment alone earned my loyalty for life. Customer service like that is rare, and it deserves to be recognized. I didn't catch her name, but I was there Thursday, March 19 between 6-8 PM at the Craft location--she was running the sample table and sharing the carrot cake latte (which, by the way, was incredible). They still had the same coffee menu, seasonal drinks, and baked good offering; but, felt a lot more like a neighborhood destination. I ended up ordering coffee for my work team and all were impressed by the flavors! I got a Black Americano, Hot Borealis Latte, and the Whipped Carrot Cake Latte for myself. The Carrot Cake Latte may be a new all time favorite of mine! It wasn't too sweet but just leaned into the flavor profile enough. My coworker who had the Hot Borealis said it may have been her favorite latte she's tried. I also got the Herbed Goat Cheese Croissant which is familiar yet unique with the pop of savoriness. Overall, this was a great experience as a stop in when passing through the area. Brewpoint continues to have great flavors that leaves a lasting impression. Staff is friendly and pricing is fair.

We tried several things from this cafe, and everything was phenomenal, but there was one thing that was beyond all the stars, but here's a breakdown of it all: Potato Savory - so basically if you're looking for chaat, this is it. They call it savory, we call it chaat, but in either case, you can tell this isn't something pre-made and slapped into a bowl. The veggies were crunchy, not soggy. The chutney was sharp, but not overwhelming. And all the condiments and veggies and chickpeas together made a cohesive dish, well balanced. Definitely recommend. 8.5/10 Chicken Club Sandwich - this sandwich is....a LOT. In a good way! The pulled chicken is seasoned well. It's massive and there is a lot of flavor in each bite. This gives Chai Ho Jai (Naperville) a definite run for its money. 9/10 Filli Chicken Seasoned Flatbread - we tried this one second, and my God, it's a definite 10 out of 10! 10/10. Dynatime Chicken Flatbread - okay, so we tried this flatbread first, and I thought it was a 10/10, but then I tried the other flatbread and realized this was a definite 11/10! Lacha Melt Chicken - this was great, very akin to a quesadilla with a paratha. Unique concept, yes, but not my favorite thing here. And yet, well seasoned and delicious. 8/10! Pistachio Latte (Iced) - this was a stand out. This latte was SO delicious, I got one - everyone took a sip, and then we ordered more! Sooooo goooooooood!!!! 10/10! Now let's get to the STAR OF THE SHOW: The FRIES - the fries that came with all the entrees were hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The perfect specimen for a fry. Add to that the lovely spice powder sprinkled on top of them - they are delicious, melt in your mouth, and in addition to being the perfect accompaniment to the food, they're absolutely great all on their own! 100/10! Definitely recommend this place - the ambience and the service are both absolutely great. As long as the taste of the food remains consistent and this place remains clean and hospitable, this is going to be one of the top notch places in the area. Don't overcrowd the menu, either, it's perfect as it is!

(Turn on your speaker for the vids to get a better sense of the environment.) This place is more like an institutional cafeteria in decor, activity, and high ambient noise with too many hard surfaces making for an unsettling experience. Don't come here thinking you're going to quietly ease into the day with a cup of coffee and croissant contemplating the meaning of your existence. The floor plan at this location more closely emulates its major French-inspired competitor (also corporate South Korean) and a much condensed bakery offering than the Naperville (Ogden Ave.) location. You pick your own goods from various cases and get your coffee at the counter. The counter service has a disjointed workflow and they can't seem to get to the point where you leave the counter with all of your order, having to wait for your coffee or some other item. They then yell out (yes, yell) your name over the background din. You have to go up and ask if they just said your name. It's actually sort of funny, and a bit annoying. I do have to say the food itself is actually pretty good but nothing near what you would actually experience in Paris, but still good, flavorful. The coffee holds up to scrutiny as well. Though Tous Les Jours seems to offer consistently good everyday food quality, this location, overall, due to the noise levels and semi-sterile environment, resulted in an unenjoyable experience--I would not be back to this location as there are too many better alternatives.
