To replace the roof, I needed someone to remove my current solar panels. I put in a request in yelp and Jeff reached out to me. Jeff was on top of his game with everything, so much that I ended up working with him to get my new solar installed as well. I decided to cancel Tesla and go directly with Jeff. This was probably the SMARTEST move I've done, as he was able to get EVERYTHING done is such a timely manner, from install to getting it up and running with SDGE. It was a huge relieve because the whole process with Tesla was just way too time consuming and slow. My only regret is that I didn't meet Jeff sooner as the process with Tesla dragged out so long, that I wasted months for no reasons. The quality of work was amazing. Its the little details that counts. For example, painting the conduit to match my roof and walls. My previous Solar company did NOT do that. Installing the solar panels actually took only about a day when Johnny and Victor came out. Johnny was very helpful in explaining how to set up the Powerwall battery with my phone. My roof was replaced a few months before I purchased my home, 2 years ago. With the last rain fall…read morea few weeks ago, I had a leak of spraying water entering my bedroom and stains appearing on the ceiling. I got out the invoice from Roof King and contacted them to fix this, under warranty. They strung me along for a couple weeks, not returning calls, etc, telling me they wouldn't honor the 12 year warrantee because I didn't "transfer the warrantee" 2 years ago when I purchased the home. I did some research and found out that in California, contractors have to fix their poor workmanship for up to 4 years, regardless of a warranty. I kindly pointed this out to them and gave them a week to respond, before reporting them to the CA licensing bureau. I got a call a couple days later saying "we will be out today between 1-3pm to fix your leak". While I'm glad they fixed the leak (which I cannot confirm since it hasn't rained yet) I think any reputable business would have fixed a leak 2 years after a roof was completely replaced. I would not recommend this roofer at all. If my roof ends up still leaking, I'm getting it replaced by someone else and not messing with this company anymore.

It's been three years since they redid our whole roof. At the time, my primary complaints were poor…read morecommunications and the tar that fell through the garage roof and just barely missed the car. They did not communicate that this was a possibility or advise to move the car out when they worked in that area. There was never a project manager on site to communicate about details of the job or answer questions; presumably one of the workers was a supervisor but they never interacted with us. When starting the job, they did not confirm the start date so I called mid-morning when no one showed up; the excuse was a possibility of rain, but no one let me know they weren't coming. When the shingles were delivered, a truck just showed up without warning at a time when no one from their company was present to accept delivery. When done, the exhaust pipe for the range hood had received a lot of debris that fell into the fan and made noise; it was a lot of trouble to get that cleared out. But then later, we discovered that in the process they had moved the exhaust pipe for our gas furnace so it was a foot away from where it belonged, not connected, not possible to be connected; the furnace was now pumping exhaust into the attic and leaking it into the house.

I followed up 3-4 times and no one ever came out. I've now had an error come up in another system and called him to check it out. Once again he said he would address it and it's been almost a month of my system not working and still nothing. Unfortunately, if you hope to have good service and support, do not work with William and Zenith. I very rarely write bad reviews, but I've given them every opportunity to act responsibly and it's just not happening. Skip this company move on to another. The owner picked up one time and said he would call the following week nothing. I will be filing a complaint with the CA license board, BBB and possibly file suit for any expenses I ensure from having another solar company come out. My neighbors speak highly of Stellar Solar that is whom I will be contacting.
