We thought we would give this restaurant a try. We saw it while driving down PCH. The food was EXCELLENT. We started with a California Roll and a Spicy Tuna Roll. Both fresh and delicious. I had a Chicken Teriyaki dinner. The meat was grilled to perfection and was a very good quality. My husband had a combination plate which had chicken and beef teriyaki along with vegetable tempura. Usually it's hit or miss with beef teriyaki, but this was the best quality beef teriyaki I've had in a very long time. We enjoyed our meal very much. When we walked in we were greeted and seated immediately -- i.e. made to feel welcome. I highly recommend Fusion Sushi and we will be back! read more

This restaurant has one of the most creative sushi roll menus I've ever seen. My favorites include the French Roll, which may not be on the menu anymore, but you can still order it, smothered with crispy string onions and roasted garlic cloves. Hungry Roll and Godzilla Roll are also great. I'm a fan of albacore and it's always good here, including the sashimi. Staff is friendly and kind. Seating is usually available immediately. He felt like a lobster roll and suggested this place after doing a search. I liked that it was convenient and located right on PCH. I picked up a lobster roll, rainbow roll, and a super crunch roll. We both liked the sushi and thought the place was worth another visit. He tends to be a picky eater so that's saying something. The menu is pretty extensive so there are a lot of sushi choices. I like the Udon Soup but then again it was average. The service was okay. The parking lot is shared with other businesses in the plaza and it's tight. There is a lot to like about my little local Fusion. First, they have lots of booths so if you don't want to sit at the sushi bar and stare your food in the (fish) eye, you don't have to. Second, they have lots of flat screen TVs with sports on! This is a nice plus when you want to watch the game and eat, but don't want icky bar food. Third, they have lots of coupon specials - you can bring them in when they are delivered in the local circulars, or you can search for them online. It's nice to do the buy one get one lunch 1/2 off special - especially because the lunch is good and very plentiful. No, you are not going to have the most spectacular sushi of your entire life. However, the turnover here is huge and I have always had very fresh food. The special rolls are simply delicious - try the Lady in Red Roll which has spicy tuna with Albacore and a huge serving of tempura onions on top. It's great! Also, I have never had anything but super attentive service here - granted, I often have the same sweet natured waitress, Chica, who seems to smile at all requests, no matter how annoying! I get take out from here at least once per week and it has always been ready quickly - even on a Saturday night I have never had to wait more than 30 minutes. Most times it is 10-15 minutes! They also deliver, but no at lunch on weekdays (at least not usually - call and ask) This is a solid, fresh and predictable local sushi joint. Revised as of May 1 2008: I sadly must take a star off. The food quality has just been not-so-great. Nothing in particular, but I realize that they are just not worthy of 4 stars. More like 3. I come here often because the sushi are good and cheap. I like their service and they are much more nicer then the Torrance one. The decor makes you feel cozy and welcome. The bad thing is their parking is small and may be a bi*$h if they are fool and you have to park upstair on their balcony. We order a bunch of different rolls and a few orders of sashimi. Prob only one of the rolls we got was actually good-- they were kind mushy. Salmon sashimi was decent but I don't think it was that fresh (we did come in pretty late though). Tuna sashimi was nothing special either. Decor was nice and service was good. Fusion Sushi in Hermosa is a very slow location with not too many customers. The sushi is as good as anywhere, but the overall experience just ok. Most of the seats are located along the windows that face the noisy PCH, unless you sit at the sushi bar. Fusion Sushi has a good number of TVs turned to sports channels. If you don't eat fish and tempura (like me), the food choices are very limited. read more

I begged my husband 2 go 2 sushi tonight, and even though he is not an avid sushi lover, he loved it. I am BTW I guess edamame is free with every meal because it was offered along with our requested waters. He loved the beans and never had them before, so he was surprised that they were so delicious. Then we ordered the cajun spicy crunchy tuna rolls, and the ahi melted in our mouths. It was so decadent that we ordered another. Then our baked oysters arrived; the dish comes with 3, and my husband was amazed by the flavor, esp the enagi, which he had tried in the past at other sushi locations, but never appreciated until now. It's like tasty bubble wrap in your mouth LOL Then our 2nd round of tuna rolls arrived, and we were amazed by all the flavors all over again. Our last selection of the evening was the baked lobster roll, which was very rich & creamy. However, it was just as wonderful as everything else this evening. Our complimentary dessert was a sliced orange, and like I said, this sushi restaurant is the best I've ever had. I've never left a restaurant and wanted to post a yelp review faster than I do tonight. My family and I went to fusion sushi, the location in Hermosa/North Redondo, for dinner tonight. There were very few tables in the restaurant every single one of us was ignored, while they finished probably 100 door dash entrées for delivery. 30 minutes into our dinner I had to go ask for the appetizer. We had to wait to order, no one ever came to the table, the staff was rude and abrupt, and the specialty rolls came out incorrectly after waiting so long to get them--absolutely nothing like the experience of dining at the Manhattan beach location!!! I will never go back again to eat inside--Don't bother to drive to that location unless you're going to sit in your car in the parking lot and door Dash, you'll get your food faster than actually going to a table. Such a bummer, was really hoping it would be as good as every other visit to the MB location. read more

If you like really fresh, melt-in-your-mouth sushi, this is not the place. This was one of our occasional sushi places for the past five years but unfortunately, after now three bad experiences in a row, it's time to say 'sayonara' for good. Tonight was pretty bad. First off, they raised their prices and it seems that they also lowered the quality of the fish. The salmon sushi tasted fishy. We shrugged it off thinking maybe it was a one-off. But then we tried the yellowtail sushi which was also fishy-- granted, not as bad as the salmon, but clearly not fresh. Even though I'm not the risk-taker I was in my 20s, we did go ahead and eat it. I'll let you know in 72 hours if that was a bad decision. We ordered a few rolls as well, including the BSCR which was always my go-to. It was okay, not great. Even though there were only four tables seated, I watched it sit on top of the sushi bar for at least a full five minutes while the servers conversed near the to-go table. Eventually the conversation ended and one went and got it and brought it to us. Interestingly, two other servers went over and looked at it and then decided it wasn't for their table so they continued on. If you're doing the math, you got that right. Four tables of two patrons each and four servers. Yet I had to wave one over to get a refill on water. They used to give you a little sliced up orange with some toothpicks delicately sticking out as a complimentary dessert (oranges help with digestion). No mas. Apparently covid has not only affected their ability to get fresh fish and serve food while it's hot, it has done away with the nice little touches that used to set this place apart. In all honesty, I get that things have been tough with covid. I really do. But the decision to raise prices, lower quality, and get lax on service all at the same time, is going to undoubtedly result in a loss of customers. There are still too many good sushi joints in the South Bay to expect people to pay high prices for a bad food and a mediocre experience. Even if it means driving a little further. read more

Really nice spot to drop in and have sushi. Everyone is nice and sweet. Their menu is huge! It look me like 30 minutes to get through. Very extensive menu and also give out a complimentary edamame when u sit. Yummy hot green tea as well. Their albacore was my fav. And their homemade crispy onions are stellar. Their lobster roll was yummy like a Mac n cheese. I could eat that in my sweats. The Pink Lady reminded me of the Crispy Rice at Katsuya. Will definitely be back. I am an African American male. Unfortunately I have post that this location in hermosa beach is in fact racist. Which is a terrible shame because Hermosa beach is full of loving people. They refused to seat me, saying they were full. Then i informed them of 2 open tables. Then they told me they are having "internet problems" So they cannot seat me. How is it that I experience more racism from Asians then from Caucasians? Simply hopeless people that choose to treat people this way. read more

It's one the few air-conditioned restaurants in Hermosa Beach. It was over 90 degrees and we really didn't want to go into a mom and pop restaurant with two loud fans. We ordered the baked mussels, sashimi salad and Hawaiian roll. The sashimi salad was large with surprising amount of sashimi. Everything was fresh. The service was attentive. read more
