Just mediocre. There is no flexibility in menu changes due to franchise rights. If you are running errands nearby and want something different, I guess stop by. For ramen lovers and Japanese fushion food, won't be coming here again if you can invest in time and effort to head to Sawtelle, Torrance and even other places in South Bay. I had the garlic truffle ramen and it was okay. Wasn't awful, but also wasn't great. My friends got the rice bowls and it was a nice change but they were not impressed. Karaage was very good and crunchy, edemame was okay a little bit salty, and the ramen wasn't as hot as I wanted it to be. Pork was really tender but noodles and the broth were okay for me. Their broth and ramen are really good. I love the creamy richness of the Classic broth. Ramen noodle texture and toppings are always on point, and their pork belly cha siu is always a thick and tender serving. Combos are a good deal. However, service continues to be lacking regardless of whether you are dining in or picking up. I usually dine in and they always feel understaffed with tables un-bussed and taking a bit longer to get seated or orders taken than you'd expect. My recent visit was to pick up an online order. Estimated wait time was about 30 minutes, however, I had to stand there for another 25 minutes while waiting with all the other pick up customers and Doordashers. It still took 10 minutes for them to bring out my order after I received the order ready message. The restaurant was full when I got there, but most customers had left by the time I received my food. I did see the 3 servers hustling and food came out of the kitchen at a good pace, so not sure what the problem is. Something is wrong with their process to have slow service be a lingering problem. read more

Silverlake Ramen... don't underestimate nor overestimate it or the area. I've been shocked by the fact that so many times it's rather empty, which is NOT a reflection of the popularity or quality in my opinion. It's a benefit to me to get seated quickly and due to the nature of what ramen is (pre-coooked soup and freshly prepared noodles), it's fast and you can get in and out within 30 minutes of seating to paying. Maybe because it's in Manhattan Village and is niche Japanese Soup Noodles that it's possibly not as popular for the area. It's a great place to eat. You can get a fulfilling combo of ramen with a side for $20, so after tax and tip you're paying like $25-30 or so. They do have a rewards program too for frequent diners. read more

The server we got maybe was new but he made a couple mistakes throughout the time we were at Silverlake Ramen. Previous experiences have been better. Tonight I opted on the Chicken Karaage Curry Rice Bowl which was good with a spice level that was enjoyable, but there was no pickled ginger condiment to be added. I had to order a side of pickled onion ($1.75) so I had something to cut the fat of the curry base. All curry dishes need a pickled condiment option. The Classic Tonkotsu Ramen was great as always with good noodle pull and tasty broth and ordered as a combo with a Chicken Karaage appetizer that has a nice mayo based dipping sauce. Very enjoyable. The Rice Pork Bowl was also very good and was a good option for a smaller appetite with a great price ($8.75 for a small). I also had the Spicy Garlic Edamame which was addictive. Love the Edamame! Service: Efficient service in taking my order and serving the food. Everything was accurate. Didn't need to ask for water but there was no refill of water without asking which should be a must in a place that has spicy items on the menu. It felt short staffed on the night I went so there is a level of patron understanding given here. Ambiance: Very hip, modern design for a ramen joint. The tables and seating area was clean. I tried to call the location and no one answered and I even tried to contact them on their website and they also didn't allow me to contact them because it required a name and I couldn't click the button so I couldn't submit a complaint. There was plenty of seating in this place, service was quick and easy. We got our food very quick and everything was nice and hot just like I like it! Pork gyoza was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, great flavors. The crispy rice was also very good but a little pricey for two pieces. I really enjoyed the bowl of ramen, had a nice kick and great flavors. Husband got the regular karaage bowl. I come here often, and Sumaya's team always does an incredible job. Kwan, Fon, and Johnny work extremely hard, they always serve me quickly, and they are always kind and have an upbeat attitude. I often come in close to their last call and I sometimes feel bad about that, and they treat me well every time. The food is great as well. I usually get the Blaze combo with Karaage on the side. As someone who's used to the likes of Shen-shi-Gumi and HiroNori, this place doesn't really compare. Silverlake is good, not great. You go in understanding what you get when you go for ramen in a place like Manhattan Beach. It's going to be solid, but it's built for the community it serves. I really like the broth of the classic ramen compared to many other ramen places. However, my piece of pork was mostly fat. This location didn't give the seaweed in my delivery order the way the K-Town location expertly provided it wrapped in wax paper to keep it crisp. The California roll was pretty good.
