The parking lot gets full quickly but none the less there is street parking. The food is worth it for the price and easily shareable. Went around 9pm so was able to park in the lot. The turn around time for order to table is quick. Its sort of a bar but without the loudness. Music selection is cool. Great place to visit with friends or family or even by yourself. There was only 1 waiter & 1 chef so we waited about 15 minutes to be seated but that was no problem at all! Let me say the hole in the wall sushi places are sometimes the best! We got 3 different rolls & gyoza, which ended up being too much because we got so full. But it was all so delicious. This review is for a Friday night 9pm dinner. There are plenty of parking spaces infront of the restaurant. The dining area with tables is small but seating area is comfortable. We choose to seat at the table, and not at the sushi bar. I had gyoza, California roll, and hot green tea. The gyozas are deep fried; I preferred pan fried. The California roll came with pickled ginger and Wasabi. My green tea was a Yamamoto brand tea bag. My honey had the shrimp tempura Don, a spicy tuna roll, and a Soporo. He ate everything, so it must have been good. Our waiter gave us a bottle of Soporo but charged us for a large beer. He should have asked if we wanted a regular size or large. Minus 1 star. The woman's bathroom is clean. Overall, food is good, dining area is comfortable. Some menu item does not have detail description of ingredients... so be sure to talk to the waiter. I came here for solo dinner on a week day and ordered spicy veggie ramen and 2 orders of the salmon nigiri. The salmon nigiri was really good: fresh and thick cut. I really enjoyed that. The ramen though tasted like hot water with noodles in it with chopped up veggies. I don't know how else to explain it, it literally had no taste. I ate a couple bites but couldn't get through it. The server was really rude but I guess expected for a Korean restaurant. He did fill up my glass of chardonnay to the brim so that's A+. Ample parking (lot). Indoor seating though I'm not sure it's reopened yet (due to covid 19). A few small tables for outdoor seating. No heat lamps (none needed it's SO-CAL after all). Not a fancy place nevertheless, good quality. You CAN find cheaper sushi restaurants (if that's your thing), but you might taste the difference (if your a foodie). I ordered and paid for five orders of inari and only got one order. My receipt with Uber Eats confirms I ordered and paid for five. Even on their own receipt it says one, so they copied the order wrong from Uber Eats. It was an obvious mistake, and a mistake entirely on their end. I called the restaurant to let them know. At first they insisted I only ordered one. Then they admitted they made a mistake and that it was supposed to be five, and that I could come pick up the missing ones myself. I asked them to redeliver the missing items and they said no. They wanted me to come pick it up, but that defeats the purpose of ordering delivery. They then changed their answer and said that it really was only one after all. I told them I literally have proof I ordered five, it's on my receipt, and only on their receipt that they transcribed incorrectly is it one. They insisted it was one. I said I'll take it up with Uber, and only then did they change their answer yet again and say they actually do see it was supposed to be five, but I still had to come pick them up. I remember now why I don't do takeout sushi. Truth is I don't care much for any takeout - I won't lament - it really isn't a fault of the restaurant; food simply doesn't travel well even though the ride home is only a few minutes...which is.another reason why I also don't do delivery, just not a fan of food not plated before me. In any case, this little spot is nifty. A decent menu and good service. There are a couple tables out front, a good option during warmer weather as there are no heat sources. We arrived and it was 57 degrees and without jackets I would have been miserable so takeout it was. An order of combo and shrimp tempura. Lots of veggies but the short drive home meant soggy tempura. Tasty though. Same for gyoza - the taste was very good, but again these little guys didn't keep their decent crispiness in a foam container. The Crunch roll held up nicely, just not as pretty in a foam container - I took the time to plate everything, but it's just not the same. The sushi combo was decent but again there's something about the consistency that changes during the drive home then onto the plate. Nothing tasted bad, our bellies were full but I know everything would have been much better had we dined in...well, outdoors really (this outdoor thing is obnoxious). Anyway, tons of parking, loaded menu, friendly service, tables were full and they did a decent takeout business while we waited for our order. We'll keep this one on our try again list when L.A. county freedom returns. read more

What this place lacks in atmosphere is made up for in the quality, value and flavor of their food. My son and I came here last night and had a fantastic meal. The kids bento box is the best deal I've seen in an entree on a kid's menu; included soup, rice, California roll, AND tempura. I had the hand roll trio, which was also great. If you instagram your food, you get either a free small serving of California Roll or gyoza. This is the most slept on sushi place I've ever been to. This is my second time being here and both times there was only one other table eating at the time. Both times I ordered salmon nigiri which is a simple thing to make but can make a serious statement about the quality of the food. It was excellent and came out within a couple minutes of me ordering. This time I ordered the $7 udon (which is a steal nowadays) and it was simple and delicious. First off I like most sushi places that are open late because they're a diamond in the rough. This place was affordable, free parking everywhere but it's out the way for me to drive. Customer service was nice, I'm glad I was able to leave a tip that made his night. We ended up getting a bento box, sushi rolls and veggie ramen. I like how they separated the broth from everything else so you can mix it yourself instead of it coming all together. The rolls were good they disappeared immediately and you can't ever go wrong with a bento box. This wasn't amazing sushi but good quality neighborhood food, if I lived in the area or worked etc I'd visit more often but it's not worth going out the way for, either way you guys left me with a full tummy and smile. read more

Was driving in the area looking for food & came across this restaurant. It's located on Aviation & Pch. It shares the same parking lot with other small restaurants. I went in with my little group of four. We were greeted by a friendly waitress & made our way to our table. We were handed our menus and we ordered our waters. The tables were clean and the place was empty minus the one waitress & cook. We ordered spicy edamame as our appetizer & when the waitress came back we ordered our meals. We got our drinks and the food took quite awhile. Two other tables ended up being occupied with customers. They got our food before we did. 2 of got our poke bowls, and then she brought out this oily edamame. My other two guests still waiting on their food. My daughter ordered this albacore roll. It came after her food was finally ready. Her ramen bowl had pork fat in it, and a huge portion of cabbage. It was not tasty at all. We asked for the check and we tried the albacore roll and the fish was bad. Our waitress left out of hurry, and the waiter there I advised that the fish was bad and he did nothing. I have never had bad sushi before until today. Disappointed that they didn't attempt to make our visit better. read more

Saw the place on Postmates and was craving Ramen and some sushi thought I'd order. Ramen locked flavor the Cha Shu tasted just like playing pork belly no real seasoning. This is the 2nd time I have ordered delivery. The first time I received a roll called Sunset Roll. I was advertised as wrapped with soy paper. I received it with rice no soy paper. I Called them & they confirmed it was supposed to be with soy paper not rice. I just ordered again, I also sent a message along with the order to make sure it was wrapped in soy paper as advertised, because the last time it was not. Guess what , I received this latest order with again, no soy paper wrapped just the rice. The other roll I ordered was the Salmon avocado roll, also supposed to be wrapped in soy paper. It was not. Aka has been my quarantine go-to. The Hawaiian roll is my (and my husband's) absolute favorite- it has avocado and spicy tuna inside and tuna on top. The the blue fin sashimi is also delicious. The sushi chef is such a nice guy. He has started to recognize my order and throws in a delicious little salad on the house. Before the stay-at-home order, my husband and I had eaten at the restaurant and tried one of the cold sakis, which was so good and not too pricey. Another item on the menu that I like is the Tuna Tataki. Great food, great service. I will continue to support this place throughout quarantine. I highly recommend any Hermosa or Redondo locals do the same so we can keep these wonderful people in business! read more
