Atmosphere - quaint, home feel, indoor seating available with sushi counter. Customer service - Excellent service. Sushi chef was alone - took our orders, prepared the food and served the food. Taste - everything wad freshly prepared and tasty. Great presentation. We ordered the teriyaki chicken box which came with assorted Tempura, California roll and salad. We also had dragon roll, hot night roll and rainbow roll. Tempura was crispy and tasty. Sushi was fresh. Price - Average, good value.

We always have good service here! The restaurant owner is always attentive to us. We love the rolls here, so yummy! My daughters fave are the avocado spicy tuna roll & the regular spicy tuna roll I love a good tiger roll!

This review is for a Friday night 9pm dinner. There are plenty of parking spaces infront of the restaurant. The dining area with tables is small but seating area is comfortable. We choose to seat at the table, and not at the sushi bar. I had gyoza, California roll, and hot green tea. The gyozas are deep fried; I preferred pan fried. The California roll came with pickled ginger and Wasabi. My green tea was a Yamamoto brand tea bag. My honey had the shrimp tempura Don, a spicy tuna roll, and a Soporo. He ate everything, so it must have been good. Our waiter gave us a bottle of Soporo but charged us for a large beer. He should have asked if we wanted a regular size or large. Minus 1 star. The woman's bathroom is clean. Overall, food is good, dining area is comfortable. Some menu item does not have detail description of ingredients... so be sure to talk to the waiter. We will definitely return in the future. Yelp incorrectly states the location as Redondo Beach. This restaurant is located in Hermosa Beach.

I believe the owner and management is different from when I used to frequent this spot wayyy back in high school. I've gone plenty of times within the last few years: Good sushi. Good service. Ample parking (lot). Indoor seating though I'm not sure it's reopened yet (due to covid 19). A few small tables for outdoor seating. No heat lamps (none needed it's SO-CAL after all). Not a fancy place nevertheless, good quality. You CAN find cheaper sushi restaurants (if that's your thing), but you might taste the difference (if your a foodie). If you go around lunch or dinner, expect a wait, theres typically 1 server and 1 cook and AKA Sushi and Ramen is popular with phone and online orders, might take a little while to get your food. Warning: Make sure you ask what's on your roll instead of relying on the description and photos on the menu, they're not *always* accurate.

Unfortunately, Aka also known as... Average. Small sushi and ramen spot in Hermosa Beach. Was craving ramen and sushi by the sea, so dropped in for lunch. Although the owner (head chef) is nice, Not much to the eyes in here. Ramen was average if that, and the sushi was bland. Worth a try if you're hungry but AKA.. I won't be rushing back

Proof they transcribed the order incorrectly as only one

I ordered and paid for five orders of inari and only got one order. My receipt with Uber Eats confirms I ordered and paid for five. Even on their own receipt it says one, so they copied the order wrong from Uber Eats. It was an obvious mistake, and a mistake entirely on their end. I called the restaurant to let them know. At first they insisted I only ordered one. Then they admitted they made a mistake and that it was supposed to be five, and that I could come pick up the missing ones myself. I asked them to redeliver the missing items and they said no. They wanted me to come pick it up, but that defeats the purpose of ordering delivery. They then changed their answer and said that it really was only one after all. I told them I literally have proof I ordered five, it's on my receipt, and only on their receipt that they transcribed incorrectly is it one. They insisted it was one. I said I'll take it up with Uber, and only then did they change their answer yet again and say they actually do see it was supposed to be five, but I still had to come pick them up. I said no, and we left it at that. Very disappointing.

We have been the customer for over 10 years, ever since he owned the original Kai sushi bar in Torrance. Owner Kimura さん is such a friendly warm person. Since we moved out of the state we have been missing his food. After revisit his new restaurant, it was still as wonderful as we remember. He remembers what you like and his greeting is happy and genuine.

First time, but we will be back. Noodles in the veggie ramen were cooked perfectly and the veggies were great. My wife ordered a salad with sushi and she ate it so fast she couldn't even talk!

Absolutely amazing- a true hidden gem. The sushi chef/owner is a master of fish- great quality and design. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back.

The restaurant itself has a very clean, bright atmosphere that's perfect for a focused lunch or a relaxed dinner. But....The standout here is definitely the broth--it has an incredible creamy texture that's rich and velvety without feeling heavy. You can tell they put a lot of time into developing that depth of flavor. Every spoonful was perfectly balanced by the fresh scallions, and the slight heat from the peppers. If you appreciate a ramen broth with real body and soul, Gomaichi is a must-visit.

I've tried their tonkotsu ramen as well as their tan tan men, which was a unique flavor profile. It's sesame broth based. Today, I opted to have the Sung Hon ramen, which is hot and sour. The first sip definitely got me as I almost coughed. Ha ha. I was able to stay strong and devoured the whole bowl. I also had the gyoza which were also tasty. Overall, the food was good and the service provided by Deyanira was great. Deyanira was friendly, polite, and cordial. I appreciate her friendly demeanor and positive attitude. If you're in the area and want to grab a nice bowl of ramen, stop by Gomaichi

Nice location close to the beach, plus plenty of things to do in the area. Started off with drinks, as one does with brunch. The best Mai Tai on the Island was an interesting take on a Mai Tai with a little mango added. Could have had a little more as it was hard to discern at times but still a tasty cocktail. Can't remember what the others ordered to drink, so my apologies, but they were also good. For food, we started with the Lobstah roll which was really nice, a good shift if lobster in each bite and crumbles of salt and vinegar chips on top for some crunch. Just something you wouldn't expect to see on the same plate but it worked. For entrees, we tried the egg crepe, breakfast sandwich and surfing that was like a dry ramen. The crepe was much different than your normal crepe, almost feeling like a quesadilla burrito combo, but was really good. The ramen, without the broth, was also very interesting and very good as well. The winner was the breakfast sandwich. A lot going on in it, and I'm typically not a sausage fan, but this was really tasty, no complaints from anyone at the table. Good location, quality cocktails and good brunch items, if you're in Hermosa Beach on a weekend, give Ryla a taste to meet your brunch needs

Rakkan Ramen completely changed how I think about ramen…read more We first came here because I was craving ramen and wanted to try a place that specializes in it, and I'm so glad we did. Everything from the flavor to the experience just feels a step above. The (always-vegan) broth is rich and well-balanced, and you can really tell the focus is on quality. One thing I really appreciate is how accommodating they are with customizations. I usually ask for my ramen without nori (seaweed) and skip the egg, and they get it right every time. It might seem like a small detail, but it makes a huge difference not having to send anything back. The atmosphere is also a big plus. It's cozy and inviting, perfect for sitting down and enjoying a warm bowl of ramen. The first time we went it was pretty busy, but it still felt comfortable. The second time, we went earlier in the day and it was quieter, which made the experience even better. At this point, anytime I'm craving ramen, this is where we go. Consistently delicious, customizable, and a great overall vibe; definitely our go-to ramen spot now.

Florescent lights, shabby wood tables and chairs, plastic menus. This could either be really good or really bad. The bread feels stale and was hard. The butter is individually wrapped. Definitely needs salt and pepper but the pepper shakers barely let anything out. I asked for parm (they do not offer!) and they gave it in plastic individual containers which was honestly offensive. Dessert was a huge miss, the creme brûlée was super eggy???? The tiramisu had like a sour milk after taste. My stomach immediately hurt before even leaving the restaurant.
