She is so comforting, brilliant and a master of her profession. She took the time to explain what was going on with my tooth and why it was necessary to retreat my root canal. Immediately upon reviewing my CBCT image she saw that the original dentist missed a canal. (Original one was done 20+ years ago, when the technology was not near advanced as it is today.) She explained this is more common than you would think because these canals are so tiny and can branch off. Root canals are often why people dread the dentist. I can honestly say that this was done with zero discomfort. She was able to remove the old material, locate and clean the extra canal and complete the procedure within an hour. So methodical, precise and efficient. I honestly wish there were more practitioners like her out there! Fabulous work. Thank YOU!

I went in on a Friday and was seen for my root canal on a wendseday the next week. I was seen by Dr. Meenal McNary D.D.S. she was great... very informative and walk you through everything that she will be doing for your teeth. I felt like I was in good hands. Being that this was first root canal ever. I had a Crack in my tooth and she was still able to safe the tooth instead of pulling it. Would highly recommend this Dr. The main reason I did not give all stars is. Be prepared for a sticker shock on what needs to get done. As this place is completely out of network with insurances. They do there best to work with insurance but more than 70% comes out of pocket. My tooth was in bad shape and seeing how I was reffered there. I felt like I could not go anywhere else. I no we have choice but with life happening and time which who has that now days. I choose to go here.

I was recently referred to Endodontic Associates of Austin by my dentist to have a root canal done…read more I was taken back 30 minutes after my early morning appointment time. After the unnecessary x-rays were done, I met Dr R. She was insensitive and rough from the moment she started her consultation and exam. I explained to her that I had recently, within the last two weeks, had numerous dental procedures done including a bone graft In my upper left jaw and 2 teeth on my lower left jaw had just had extensive work done on them to prepare for new crowns. One of these teeth was causing me extreme pain which prompted my dentist to refer me to this practice for a root canal. She was insensitive, rough and showed no compassion for my pleas that she please be gentle as she knocked roughly around on my teeth with her metal instrument. She then proceeded to use the freezing gel on my teeth, she hit the exposed nerve and I very clearly said no, please don't do that on that tooth again, the pain is unbearable. She said, we'll know it's the tooth we're looking for when the pain continues after I touch it with the freezing cold gel. I said it's persisting. She proceeds to question me about the actual location of the tooth that needs a root canal because the tooth I'm indicating is in pain isn't the one my dentist said needs the root canal. I felt like she was trying to question the validity of my pain, she was questioning me about the actual location of my pain using dental terms I'm not familiar with and she continued to be rough in her examination methods. I told her I wasn't comfortable having her examine me any longer and I wanted out of the chair. She said fine.. I got up & she proceeded to question me about what in the world she could have done to cause me to feel so uncomfortable. In this moment I was in pain & very freaked out by her demeanor. I just told her I didn't feel she was treating me in a compassionate or respectful way and I wanted to go. Before I left the office they charged me a large sum of money for the X-rays I didn't need and for the weirdest & most painful dental "consultation" I've ever had. After talking to my dentist who made the referral & had spoken to Dr.R about the fact that Dr.R and I didn't have a good interaction, he encouraged me to speak to the office to discuss the x-ray charges. I called the office to ask that they remove x-ray charges from my credit card because they didn't need to be done. Prior to this appointment my dentis had sent all of my x-rays from the last 2 months, and they had access to 3-D imaging which I had done within the last 3 months at my oral surgeons office. They told me that when you send these kind of files between offices they're " too blurry" to use so they have to do their own X-rays. The front desk employee I spoke to was rude, dismissive and argumentative. She said the decision not to refund my payment was made by the general manager of the three or four Endodontic Associates of Austin offices and that the GM is out of town and that she had no idea when she will return. When I asked for the general managers name and number she finally gave me her name but refused to give me her number. She said the GM might call me today but really, she has no idea when she'll return my call. Based on my experience with this practice I would never recommend Endodontic Associates of Austin to anyone.

Thanks to Alyssa for helping me work through some insurance issues. I would give Dr. Rane a million kudos for her sensitivity and the time she took with me to make me feel comfortable. Highly, highly recommend this office.

I had been having tooth pain for a few months after getting a cavity filled, and the dentist recommended I go here. By the time my appointment came around, the pain had mostly gone away, but I wanted them to evaluate it anyway. They did a 3D x-ray, coldness test, and bite stick test... all showed no indication of any issues... and then the doctor said, well, I think you should go ahead and have us do a root canal. How about right now? But there was no indication on any test they did of any issue! He said, well, maybe the nerve died and you'll find out in a few months that the pain is back and there's an infection spreading. But I asked, isn't it possible there's no issue at all? Well, yes, maybe, but I recommend you get the root canal anyway. So right then, I realized the tests they did that I paid $400 for were all a sham. It makes zero difference what they find on the test, they recommend a root canal TO EVERY PATIENT. I left and didn't get the root canal. It's been close to a year now. It turns out there was no issue. They wanted to do a completely unnecessary root canal on me.

I'll even admit I walked in with a bit of an attitude -- I was frustrated, in pain, and had already spent a lot of money trying to fix the issue. From the moment I arrived, the Oakwood staff immediately put me at ease. Everyone was professional, kind, and incredibly accommodating. They were knowledgeable and took the time to really listen to my concerns. Dr. Lin performed a full exam and asked detailed questions about how the previous dentist had completed the procedure. We both came to the conclusion that the previous dentist likely didn't use a safety cover (rubber dam), which allowed an infection to develop under the tooth. What impressed me the most was how thorough Dr. Lin was. The practice has a 3D X-ray machine that my insurance didn't cover, but instead of retreating the tooth blindly, Dr. Lin offered to waive the fee so he could get a clear and accurate picture of the infection area before moving forward. On the day of the procedure, everything was on time and the treatment was done comfortably with no pain. As I walked out of the building, I told my husband I could already feel the pain starting to decrease. By the very next day I was partially eating on that side, and within four days the pain I had been dealing with for almost a year was completely gone. I am incredibly grateful and so thankful for the Oakwood team and Dr. Lin. If you're nervous about dental work or dealing with complications from another dentist, I highly recommend them.

Not realizing how serious it was, I called Oakwood to schedule the consultation and after a few questions they were able to move my appointment up and squeeze me in almost immediately. From the moment I called them, I sensed that they genuinely care about their patients. They provided a clear, honest, easy-to-read estimate for the services. Come day of, I was nervous because root canals have such a negative connotation. The receptionist, the assistant (I believe her name was Lily) and Dr. B exceeded all expectations and made the scary experience extremely comfortable and pain free. The office is very nice and clean and I enjoy that the patient chairs look out a window. Dr. B was very kind, professional, efficient and explained everything thoroughly. I'll even add a bonus...in the aftercare paperwork, they provided his personal cell in case I have any questions or concerns after hours. Let me tell you...I had a procedure once that occurred on a Friday evening before closing and the office is closed on weekends. I got home only to find that the blood wasn't clotting from the procedure so I was bleeding excessively from my mouth for HOURS (almost 9 hours to be exact). I was about to go to the ER when it finally stopped, but in those hours I just wished I had a line of communication to the office staff or dentist to advise me on what to do. The fact that Dr. B provided his number goes to show the level of care you can expect at Oakwood.
