I am a new patient here at Elgin Family Dental and I must say both of my experiences have been seriously phenomenal! Dr Herring is super kind and takes the time to listen to all of my concerns. All of his staff is super friendly and kind. Jennifer is the hygienist that cleaned my teeth and I must say is an Angel! Super sweet and always take extra steps to make sure I am comfortable since I told her I was terrified of the dentist with my past terror experiences somewhere else where. She was empathetic and did such a great job making sure everything was tip top! Morgan was such educational and knowledgeable! Honestly they have an A team there and treat you like family with care and support. I'm so grateful to find such a wonderful dental practice and I honestly can't believe I'm saying this but look forward to coming back lol They create a very calm environment and I love that I can watch the birds and squirrels as I lay in the dentist chairs. Definitely helps me with the anxiety of being at the dentist lol Would I recommend Elgin Family Dental? In fact, YES and I have already recommended this dentist to a few of my friends :). I canceled and went online to my Cigna account and there was the pricing that I was asking for from this location. If it starts off like this in my opinion stay away. read more

Deep cleaning. Quality of care was good. Very up to date and tidy office environment. I really enjoy the view from the window. My dental hygienist took time to explain everything to me and answered all my questions. I experienced little to no pain. Rather than putting my "post op" care online, I feel it would be better to give one a handout as I didn't see my email until several hours later. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Carl Herring for nearly 15 years since relocating from Tennessee. Dr. Herring has served my family so genuinely well and provided the utmost in care. A few years ago, my youngest daughter had just came out braces and had a traumatic accident on a trampoline--completely knocking her front teeth towards the roof of her mouth. It was devastating! In panic I called Dr Herring after hours at home. He was calm and caring and directed us to Dell Children's. Fast forward to now and Dr. Scott Herring is putting the final touches on my daughter's teeth with an implant. Thanks to the Herrings giving her a beautiful smile, my daughter won her college's Pageant earlier this year and qualified to compete for Miss Texas next year. Although my family and I have moved from the Elgin area, we still drive 30 miles for our care--it's worth it! And words to the wise: don't ever pre-judge a seemingly small, country town denistry. I went in on an emergency basis, I was having tooth pain. They were able to see me the same afternoon. I just want to compliment the office staff and dentist for being so nice and helpful. Watch out for this companies billing system. You cannot just pay your deductible and get your teeth cleaning and ex-rays. This is the only dentist I have ever had where I am constantly flooded with bills after what should have been completely covered by insurance. They are pretty over priced as well. They just lost our business over the principle of a $14 bill I should have not have ever received. Shame good dentists and hygienists terrible billing system. read more

My kids and I have been going here for a few years. We have several issues with the front office, scheduling appointments and with professionalism with the front office. We have also had issues with them scheduling appointments we were not aware of and I have caught them on the printed paper before leaving. I have also caught them in several lies about how they operate. They have a financial policy which is very unclear and open to discrimination against patients based on their opinion of the patient (which I found out about today on the phone with them). When I asked about it, I was told "Well we can take the fee away after a few appointments." When I asked "how long is a few appointments would be" the response given was "the policy says it will be for future appointments." I asked for clarity and they could not clarify their policy, (to expect the fee for a set number of appointments or indefinitely) they refused to clarify and were very rude about the situation. This practice is clearly based on enforcing policies for some and not for others. Sadly, we are choosing to find an honest dental practice for services. When you break my trust and lie to me repeatedly I lose my faith in your service and your staff and billing. read more

My wife and son have been going to Elgin Family Dental for about a year, I continued to visit my dentist out of state. A few weeks ago, I needed to see a dentist and they saw me immediately. It turned out that I needed a root canal and they recommended an excellent Endodontist in Austin and got me into see them the very next day. Office was very clean and comfortable. The chairs you sit in to get your teeth cleaned even had little massage settings! I think the other thing I liked was the big window to look through and all the birds around while I was waiting for the hygienists. The woman who cleaned my teeth was friendly and quick. My only complaint I think would be the waiting time between steps. But they may have had a call-in, not sure. Well definitely go back! read more

First of all I must tell you that I am terrified of Dentist in general but, from the time I stepped foot in the door of Dr. Carl Herring I have felt that they really do care about the Patient and not causing me pain of any type. Roxanne the Hygienist I saw (there are two and I only saw Roxanne) is a Rock Star. Dr. Herring is extremely gentle and kind in how he treats you. I never felt anything including the inevitable shot. If you want a Dentist and Hygienist that will not hurt you, does a great job and will do a great job of working with your budget and your insurance, then I would highly recommend Dr. Carl Herring. My wife goes to Dr. Scott Herring (the son) and she says he is wonderful too. I hope my review will help my fellow Dental Cowards find the right Dentist for their needs. read more
