I don't know what happened to this place, it used to be pretty decent. My last experience was far from acceptable. The fresh spring rolls were smaller and tasteless. There was no fresh herbs or carrots inside. When I asked about it, they said this is the way they always came. What the heck! To add insult to injury, the peanut sauce lacked flavor and was watered down. Although the pho was acceptable, the experience was a real turn off. read more

The egg rolls were crispy and came with a decent portion of side salad. Service was quick, which was a plus. However, the floors and tables were a bit sticky, and the condiments--like the Sriracha bottle--had noticeable buildup, which was off-putting. You are given the choice of where to sit, I sat in a large booth that could easily seat 6,maybe 8 people. You're given water with citrus (lime) and a menu. The menu is simple. Shrimp spring rolls were bland, like missing all the fresh herbs like cilantro, mint, basil - was bad...uncooked rice noodles throughout the rolls I had to pick out or crack my teeth. Chicken in bahn mi and vermicelli bowl was flavorful and good, but the bowl was just missing fresh herbs. Service is fine, I feel everyone there is bored with lack of enthusiasm, no big deal. When I told the server about the uncooked vermicelli, she didn't even care and probably didn't even tell the kitchen. Wasn't expecting to find Vietnamese food out in the desert so I was excited to try Pho Vu, which seems quite popular. The space is large with the ability to connect tables, making it good for groups. They also have a decent selection of food such as pho, banh xeo, egg rolls, and bun bo hue. My bun bo hue was pretty good; it didn't come with all the toppings I'm used to and wasn't as sour/spicy as other spots, but it was still tasty. What I liked the most about this spot was the service. Waiters were friendly, funny, and helpful; one waiter let my friend order something off menu so that she could get the toppings she likes. read more

I used to this place almost every week. Their combo pho I think one of the most decent ones in desert area. I wasn't care the modest ambiance or Worn-out seating sets because the pho was delicious. Until I had a close view to their cutlery sets where they are putting spoons and chop sticks. I never seen that kind of dirty display. I don't know when was the last time it washed. Maybe years ago. It's really disgusting because I used that spoons many times before. I called the service lady and asked for the manager. But she said she is not there at the moment. I showed her the situation and told her to forward my complaint to the manager. I don't know she did or not. I am really missing their phone but that picture comes to mind again and I read all other comments regarding hygiene after that. I think they really need to work on hygiene. Everything about this place is great. If all the Pho Vu's in the surrounding cities, though further away from my house just has better quality food, better service and the ambience is on point. Whether you are ordering pho, or Bahn mi, or just some appetizers, everything is always tasty. My last visit is was fun watching the servers who I'd never seen before expertly handling all the tables as if it was an honor to serve us. Thank you. Honestly, one of the best restaurants I visited while in Palm Springs! A group of friends and I visited Palm Springs for a 3 day weekend and ate at several places around town. We had several 'not so great' experiences, so as we walked in to Pho Vu, we hoped this would be the place that turned things around. And it was! Although we were a group of 7, we were still able to be sat immediately at a table. And the restaurant was pretty busy! Our servers were so quick, friendly, and efficient. They helped answer any questions and were very attentive to our needs. I was blown away at how quickly our food arrived! It was blazing fast, extremely hot & fresh, and still tasted great! My very picky friend who says it's rare to find authentic Vietnamese food anywhere even said this food was the real deal. Absolutely the best restaurant we visited in PS! A must try! read more

I love Vietnamese food and I've eaten it all over, including different states for the last 30yrs. That being said, this is the worst and most flavorless Vietnamese food I've ever eaten. I ordered the bbq pork and shrimp spring rolls and received the most flavorless spring rolls that were mostly iceberg lettuce with flavorless frozen type shrimp and no pork even though that is what I paid for and the peanut sauce was gelatinous and nasty. I also ordered the combination pho and the broth tasted like water and barely any protein was provided. On top of that, when I asked for extra mint in my to-go order they said "ok" and guess what...they gave us a couple twigs of cilantro which is what they gave me for the pho as well. Vietnamese food is supposed to be served with mint. How do they not know the difference between mint and cilantro??? They taste nothing alike and when I asked for one why did they act like it was no problem and then give me something completely different with no explanation. Long story short, they obviously don't give a damn about their customer's experience or requests so if you like Vietnamese food then don't eat here! FYI-I'm not the type that usually gives bad reviews but this experience was sooo bad I just couldn't stay silent because I truly love Vietnamese food so if you do as well or want to try it for the first time...please go somewhere else. read more

Tonight was a huge disappointment for me. We come down to Palm Springs for a week annually and we make a point of eating here at least once if not twice. Most times I order the vermicelli. Tonight was bbq pork vermicelli with egg rolls. When it came to the table I noticed the pork immediately. Clumpy pieces rolled up. That was a turnoff. I mixed the noodles up. Underneath was a huge mass of bean sprouts. Hardly any lettuce. And even less vermicelli This by far was the worst presentation and composition. The BBQ pork was very dry. Almost like jerky. I should have returned the dish. It really was terrible. But I kept eating thinking it would be good. Nope. My family all had the pho soup. No complaints. read more

This is the type of Vietnamese food you might expect to find in a retirement home--bland and boring. The fresh spring rolls had NO herbs in them, which is where the flavor comes from. Also, they lacked the traditional rice noodles. Nothing but iceberg lettuce. The peanut sauce was the only thing that provided flavor. The BBQ Chicken Vermicelli Bowl also was totally devoid of herbs, such as thai basil and mint. The sauce (nuoc cham) is supposed to contain fresh lime juice, fish sauce, sugar and chiles. This version perhaps had some fish sauce, but no fresh lime juice or fresh chiles. Again, very bland. The pickled carrots and daikon were limp and dull. The broth in my husband's pho was fine but, again, the only herb offered were a few sad sprigs of cilantro. Thai basil is an absolute must! My daughter-in-law's spicy chicken wasn't. It would be so easy to make this food flavorful, it's a shame they don't. The prices are quite reasonable, but you get what you pay for. The restaurant was amazingly busy given the quality, and we waited quite a while for service and for our food. All in all a disappointing experience. read more

Walked in and looked promising as the ambiance was like any strip mall restaurant. That was until the food arrived. The appetizer of egg rolls came out and were cool to the touch. For a food item that is fried, you would expect it to come at least slightly hot. We gave it a pass, as all restaurants can make mistakes and maybe it was a one off. Our mains then came and the grilled meat and rice plates we had ordered were all very cool, like they had been sitting and were not even bothered to be warmed up in a microwave.
