I have been here a couple times. It defiantly has a great atmosphere and fun vibe. But the food lacks a POP or pizzazz. I lived in California for a few years while I was stationed their. Cali-mex which I assume Fuzzy's is lacks that pop and excitement in the mouth. It is more of the side of Colo-mex, mild flavors that suit plain tastes. Meh. A long wait in line to order at the counter did not equate to food worth waiting for. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't that good. The food was lukewarm and looked dull and unappealing. The shredded beef burrito with MexMix rice was bland, oddly colored, and refried beans were bland. The rice (also the lime cilantro rice) is a travesty - instant rice, poorly seasoned. The shredded beef was low on flavor. Not worth the near $7price for the burrito. A grilled fish taco in a packaged shell left me wondering where's the fish? Topped with pale lettuce, cilantro and a few cubes of pinkish tomato, it was a sad looking offering. The enchilada, shredded pork, looked pale, but the pork was nicely spicy. I'm not sure what the sauce was. It was pale, not bad, not great. The black beans were excellently flavored and perfectly cooked. See above regarding the rice. I didn't find this combo worth the price either. We took home nachos. The sauce was tasty but hard to identify. It was remotely cheesy. The beef portion seemed skimpy. The chips were run of the mill. The place blasts older rock and has a bright decor. Think San Diego beach taco house. Cute in San Diego. The good? Staff are good natured in spite of being slammed. The bar offers a great selection of standard and exotic margaritas as well as a nice beer lineup. You can purchase fish bowl margaritas. What a gimmick, but it goes with the beachside vibe. The meals are all under $10 and drinks are reasonably priced. For me, it's not a destination, but I'd go back if other party members wished. In my opinion you can do better with some of the established local Mex restaurants in Arvada/Wheat Ridge for about the same money. read more

Love the shrimp tempura tacos. I got to Fuzzy's often for lunch. My usual order is the shrimp tempura taco plate with the potato's and lime rice. I ask for a side of garlic sauce and dip my potato's in it. You MUST try doing that. It is absolutely delicious. The other night I ordered one of their fancy drinks. It had cinnamon liqueur, hard apple cider and other stuff. It was yummy, but far too sweet for me to have more than a few sips. It reminded me of fall. I also ordered their fried ice cream. It came with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and a cherry. I recommend trying it some time. read more

I used to love this place. They're food has always been just ok (I do love their spicy pork taco) but their drinks are great and I love their hot sauce. But now, it takes them 20 minutes to get food made and we're talking about like three tacos with no one else in the restaurant. I just don't understand why, every time we come, it takes an unreal amount of time to get our food. Busy or not. It didn't used to be this way, so I'm not sure what has changed. I only knock it one star because the management seemed to have communication issues and was yelling at staff in front of the customers. Fuzzy's is great. The atmosphere is really fun. It feels like a cool place that you'd find on the hill in Boulder that we now get to enjoy in olde town Arvada. It's great to have something else is this area because many of the restaurants nearby are either dive bars or in need of major updating. There are many many choices on the menu. I had trouble deciding because it all sounded so good. There green chili is awesome. They have margaritas and beer on tap. They have their own brews but I was told they didn't brew in house, which is slightly disappointing. The staff was excellent and very friendly. There were a lot of kids in there when I went so I guess it's family friendly but I was hoping for a bit more or a bar atmosphere when I first saw all the taps. They were well behaved so it wasn't really a problem. Highly recommended. Check it out! read more

The red and yellow walls instantly stimulate anyone's appetite and the atmosphere is cool and casual. The staff is friendly and unlike most fast casual joints the food is prepared with care, and it shows! I LOVE FUZZY'S!!! I had my first Fuzzy taco in Dallas, after that I was hooked. I went there for lunch at least once a week. Then when we moved back to Colorado I was bummed we couldn't have Fuzzy's anymore. My husband recently discovered that there are in fact Fuzzy's in CO! I couldn't be happier. I have been going to fuzzy for awhile and this place has gone way down hill, they for got to put our order in and then when we asked for it again we got it 15 mins later and it was cold. The tacos are ally the same now and just not as good. Definitely will go other place in town and hopefully the Greeley location has stayed as good as it used to be. Can't be surprised by this place, it's like a Red Robin of tacos and you can tell that walking up. Food was fine but the prices were a little steep, i had the Mexican Dinner plate, one plate with re-fried beans, Mexican rice and 2 tacos. Probably a $4-5 plate at most joints, but its $7 here (unless you ordered each item separately, then it would only be $6, menu is totally whack). I had a spicy pork soft taco and a fish taco. Spicy pork taco was very tasty, and adequately spicy. Fish taco was good, not much better than Wahoo's though. Beans and rice were as expected. Menu is confusing and hard to read, unless you get to the front of the line where you can get a handheld menu which apparently has more items on it (like enchiladas). Staff was friendly, but not really sure what they do considering they don't bring your food to you, they just announce your name and you come get it. Then she handed me my plate on a tray, then asked if i was okay without the tray, so i gave her the tray back. seemed a little lazy on her part. table was clean. didn't try hot sauce, looked dangerous. Layout of restaurant was confusing, i must have looked totally lost as a "server" came up and explained where i needed to go. Typically great food and good margs. An affordable place in an area without a lot of options. However - On my last three visits in July this place has been an absolute mess. This week I saw customers bussing their own patio tables while the waitstaff chatted at the garbage can bus area - and we had to clear our own table of someone's gross dirty dishes before we could sit down. The bus tubs near the patio garbage cans were absolutely overflowing and we had to go tell the staff it was time to come get them. Twice on separate visits I've had to ask the waitstaff gals to please clean up/wipe down a table or tables before we sat there as well. One day we tried to sit upstairs for a 7:30 or so dinner - every single table up there was dirty and unbussed - a total mess. I told one of the gals she might want to go take a look and she seemed very surprised.... How hard is it for management to get these guys to pay attention? I'm getting more and more disgusted by how dirty this place constantly is - which worries me about the shape of the kitchen next.....come on Fuzzy's. People won't keep coming back if the experience is sub-par - everyone on the patio was commenting about it this past Saturday night as everyone cleared their own tables of dirty dishes (no one there to wipe the tables down until at least 30 minutes into our visit either - gross!!) and it was barely busy. The Manager gal at the food window didn't even seem to notice the place was a mess. Part of the confusion seems to be customers don't know wether to leave dishes when done or try to clear them themselves. If the waitstaff was more "on it" this wouldn't even be a concern. The only reason I give this place a four star review instead of five is because I do not believe a family type restaurant should have the off-color business mottos/slogans rhat this place has. Example of tshirt slogan: do you like it soft or hard? That said, the food is always delicious and generous, even the children's portions. During peak hours, there can be a line, but the line moves quickly and there is never a very long wait. I liked this place well enough. It took too long to get our food, meaning some of our tacos were kind of cold, but the flavor, for the most part, was there. My favorite were the tempura fish tacos -- my husband liked the grilled fish tacos. The ground meat tacos were just meh -- not enough flavor. There was some good hot sauce on the table. I'd heard Fuzzy's was a must-go but felt just ok about it. The bartender took my order and was super nice, asking if I'd ever been there and showing me where to pick up my order. I got 2 tacos - grilled fish and grilled shrimp. There was nothing special about these, protein, lettuce, a little filler. Pretty bland - they left a lot to be desired. The fish was not a yummy fish taste, and I drowned it in hot sauce to try to block out the flavor. It's such a popular spot, I won't say no to drinks and a taco with friends, but I won't be coming here based on my own recommendation. I usually choose not to review chains but this new place in Olde Town Arvada actually left me with a warm "fuzzy" feeling inside...I had to. I've been back quite a few times and the service is always fantastic. I've ordered the grilled shrimp taco every time and it's always been tasty. I love their margaritas - flavor and size. They have a pretty big food and drink menu so there are definitely options for everyone. The outdoor seating is awesome and I love that they have a [modern] jukebox. My only qualm is that the tables are usually sticky and/or not cleaned often enough. Other than that I think this place is a great addition to the Arvada area. read more

My better half loves this place! He won't admit that he was born and bred (for a time)in Texas, but it shows though here and there, especially when he is hangry for some Tex-Mex food. You cannot get an enchilada sauce like this anywhere north of Amarillo, 'cept here at Fuzzys of course. They also know what "borracho" beans are, and serve it up here all the way in Colorada. The other distinctly Tex-Mex item we like are the chips and queso, which are extremely Texas and very good! Slightly salty in general tho??? Love this place for Mexican food with a slightly different take. They use feta instead of cheddar on their tacos and other dishes and there seems to be an emphasis placed on fresh ingredients. Their refreshing house margarita features a nice mix of sweet and salty and is one of the best I've had at a fast casual place. It's also huge and the price is right. One of my favorite menu items is the nachos; they're also quite different from most run of the mill nachos. Less about gloppy shredded cheese, more about a smooth cheesy garlicy sauce. It sounds strange, but damn if it isn't amazing! I recommended the shredded over the ground beef. To sum it all up, enjoy a trip to Fuzzy's for different Mexican flavors, friendly staff and a great (if somewhat loud) casual atmosphere. read more

After going to college in Fort Worth and living on the same street as Fuzzy's, this place will always have a special place in my heart. When I found out they had a Fuzzy's in denver after I just moved here I knew I had to go! The place is huge and just like the Fuzzy's I know and love. The chips and queso are to die for, you can go to Fuzzy's and not get some. It is nothing fancy but it has a great atmosphere and has cheap tacos and delicious salads!
