Full disclosure: I saw a review from 3 hours ago. This individual reported 5 star service 1 star for the food, describing "the whitest taco ever." I had to find out, is there anything whiter than Pete's illegal white burrito? My visit to Taco House was unplanned. I took a $30 Lyft to a doctor's appt across town, and opted for public transport on the return. It took two buses to get to the Wadsworth RTD station where I catch the light rail. At that point, there was some hanger emerging. It is true, the staff is very kind and the service is amazing. Since the food is described as "Colorado Tex-Mex"--that is already a euphemism for white people food. I was curious about the Burrada: this is a burrito with the enchilada sauce on top. I opted for a combo with the famous enchiladas and a taco. Sometimes I get a hankering for a Taco Bell taco in a crunchy shell; I feel that this taco is not whiter than that. Taco House is a Denver staple, I learned from other reviews. There are a lot of loyalists who love the enchiladas. I am not sure if the recipe is the same as the one from the original Casa Bonita; my brothers and I loved them as kids. Cannot beat the price; $11 including the drink! read more

I really enjoyed my stop here. It was lunch time and I've driven past this place for years so I decided to stop. I was met at the counter by a beautiful, bubbly and outgoing young woman named Daniella. She gave me a menu and some advice about what I might enjoy. I placed my order and then checked out the building. I found the place clean and the dedicated parking lot was fantastic. The food was "fast food" type Mexican but it was hot, fresh, well packaged and quite yummy. My only argument with this place was I stood around for 21 minutes waiting for my food. The staff here are absolutely lovely, incredibly sweet, and completely terrified of spices. This was, without a doubt, the whitest taco I have ever consumed. The meat tasted like it was seasoned with ambient room temperature, and the tortilla was aggressively store-bought--pretty sure I heard someone ripping open a mega-pack of Mission flour tortillas in the back. What can I say for this place that the food can't tell you !? The food is absolutely delicious and the people who make up the team here are the real 5-star part of the eatery! The Taco House location's in and around central Denver are renowned by the long time locals, all the way back from 1965, when the first one opened. The restaurant of preference is the Wadsworth location. This place and its food are terrific, the service is friendly, they make you feel like family as soon as you walk through the front door. My family and I have been coming here since I was a kid. And they understand that the business means a lot to its patrons. This was my first time to Taco House! The food is as expected, since most items are only a couple of dollars. I had a soft shell taco and the famous cheese enchiladas. Both were good... do not expect gourmet food here! However, it is a Denver staple and a must try if you are living in the area and want to "try it once". I have been going to Taco house since 1982. Use to go to the one in Aurora so much they knew our order by heart. Only 3 left. I have been to all 3. Food hasn't changed in all the years but unfortunately pricing has. Of course inflation right. I always order the number 4 & ask to switch the bean tostada with a chili con queso which they are fine. Is it the best no why I give 3 stars but when in the area I go for the memories. Most the time staff is friendly. All could be updated but the prices would go up even more. This is my 2nd visit. Classic fast food Mexican. This is one of their 2 locations in Denver. I got a large iced tea with lemon. Free refills. I got 3 Beef tacos with lots of shredded cheese and picante sauce. They have a spicier hot sauce. Well cooked meat, no grease. I also got a guacamole tostada for $2.75 & 2 green chili smothered tamales for $4 each. The wait staff was quick and pleasant to speak with. My order came out correctly. Their menu prices have not increased. Soft music was playing even though several groups of people arrived after I came in. The staff was not flustered. A nice meal for $18.75 + tax & tip. read more

We always get the the CLASSIC #4, it is hands down the BEST. The cheese, the sauce, the tostada chips covered in queso, beans and guac. Unbeatable and so nostalgic. Great food at really awesome prices. $7 daily specials is amazing especially in this freakin economy. Had a group of 5 and the service from Tish and her support staff was on point. Kept our chips, drinks, and bellies full. Small kind acts like refilling our salsa and chips to take with us, just overall kindness from everyone that's becoming so rare these days. First the staff is super dope. Friendly, helpful, they created a good coffee even with the Rona out there. They salsa was good. Nice spice level. The consistency was different but not bad. Only stopped here because it says $.93 take out burritos... Clearly it's closer to $3 per infant sized item. Absolutely disgusting taste, salsa was questionable, and the menu is over priced and extremely limited.
