WUT. Seriously not all Fuzzy's locations are created even. That's what separates Fuzzzy's from "other" franchises... At least all other franchises taste similar and you can expect a certain level of...expectation (yeah, I'm not a thesaurus. Sue me). Dude parking S-U-C-K-S. Every time I've gone I parked at the 7-11 across the street and hoofed it. Yeah they get crazy busy but parking needs to be bigger than a postage stamp. Pulled out huge chunks of what was supposed to be shredded pork. More like brick shards, the food group it's a part of. I started pulling them out of the other tacos, to which my boyfriend made a face and said "I'm getting those too." I was left eating lettuce and hot sauce. Bastards are lucky this was take out otherwise I would've created a scene worth charging admission to. Guacamole was good though. Good thing I got it otherwise I would'nt have had anything left for dinner. read more

In my mind, simply some of the best tacos to be had in DFW. Now, these are not traditional tacos, mind you, but more of a fusion. Being a TCU alum, I have spent countless late nights stumbling into Fuzzys after the bars close, then devouring a few tacos along with some chips and queso. Some great things about Fuzzys: 1. The food is just so good. Plus, they have a taco type for everyone. For me, my favorites are the shrimp tempura, the pork and the shredded beef. But all their others are quite good as well, and they carry the same array of meats for their burritos too (their burritos are slightly smaller in size when compared to Chipotle/Qdoba, but you do get guacamole with it, so that does count for something). Generally when I go, 3 tacos usually hit the spot, and I usually order 1 of each of the aforementioned favorites. Not to mention, their unique recipe of adding feta and parsley to the tacos just make them that much better. Yes I am a guy and can openly admit I like feta on my tacos. Boom. Oh, their queso is quite good too. 2. Cheap beer. Unlike other places, Fuzzys doesn't need a happy hour. The beer is served cheap all day long, in schooners...need I say more? 3. Fast service. Even when dealing with the late-night crowd, you can still get in and out in a decent amount of time. 4. Open late. At least with this location, they stay open after the bars close, so you can sober up and get your fix in here. Other revelations: I finally stepped out on a limb and tried one of their sandwiches too, definitely up to par and honestly, might be the best deal to be had. A lot of food for your money and would definitely recommend (I went with the pork). They serve breakfast all day and have several types of breakfast tacos and dishes to tickle your fancy. All in all, one of my favorite places in Fort Worth and it has delighted me to see them finally branch out as well. read more

I munched here on a Friday night when I was checking out Bass Drum Duo (a new band). I have never been to a Fuzzy's before, but I've always heard great things about them. It doesn't seem like a franchise place. It seemed very "custom" inside, so it's one of those places with a bunch of stuff hanging all over the walls that makes it look like a one-off. So it will be interesting to check out other locations to see how they look... if it's a pre-fab motley look or if they really are all unique somehow. The place was PACKED! I hadn't seen anything like that since my college days at A&M back in the 80's. And that's what this location is... a college joint. It's near the TCU campus, so it was packed with college kids. It brought back a LOT of memories and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Fortunately, I was with a friend who had already eaten there earlier, and he was more than willing to grab the one little table in the place that was free and save it for us while I waited in line. I was very impressed with how cheerful the lady was who took my order. I am always a little bit confronted when I come into one of these places and you are in a line with a big menu hanging over the registers where you are supposed to place your order. I much prefer to sit at a menu with a table where I feel like I have some time to think about my choices. But I had some time to stand in line as it turned out, and when I got to the register, I just told the lady I had never been there before and acted helpless. She took care of everything! She asked what I like. I said, "Tacos... beans, rice, etc." So she suggested a taco plate with a couple crispy tacos and a couple sides. A agreed. Simple! Then I ordered a frozen margarita. It was purple!!! And it was yummy! The salt was salty as hell, though, so you only want to get a little bit of it at a time while you drink. After placing your order, you take your seat with your drink and wait for them to call your number. Then you go over to the grill section and pick it up. I had a shredded beef taco and a tempura shrimp taco with latin fried potatoes and boracho beans. The tacos were huge and were covered with fresh lettuce and salsa, and the whole lot was sprinkled with feta cheese. It was a yummy feast for sure!! I sprinkled some of their custom hot sauce all over the tacos and dug in. I was not the least bit disappointed. The sides were fine. No major issues. The purple margarita really hit the spot. I LOVE frozen margaritas, so I don't usually have a lot of bad things to say about those. I dropped my cell phone under the table while I was there. I had checked in on Yelp and I put the phone on my knee (I need to seriously quit doing that). It's an EVO with a rubber protector. So when I got up to leave and it hit the floor, I never heard it. Fortunately, it was with the manager when I went back later after realizing I didn't have it in my left pocket. I was was two doors down videoing my friend's band, I just had to hike back over and pick it up. So they get points for taking care of me with the lost and found, too. So my first trip to Fuzzy's was a total win in all categories... price, quantity, quality, atmosphere, service... I will definitely go again if I am near one and I'm hungry. I love Fuzzy's and I've never had a bad experience at any location. I've come to the berry location often because it's super close and it's always been good until now. I ordered a burrito and a taco. Well, my burrito came with a straw wrapper in it that I didn't order. I don't like to complain, but this was disgusting and I've never seen something like this before. I spoke to the manager and they insisted they would send gift cards. All in all, I would have been ok with just my money back since I obviously didn't get to finish my meal. Well here we are almost 2 months later and still nothing... no money back or gift cards as promised. Reached out to the manager again and I get nothing. Never going back to this location again! I hope no one else experiences what I did with the burrito or customer service. I wish it would let me post the video so you can see it all but here is a pic at least. read more

Fuzzy's Taco Shop - The Straw Wrapper - Tex-Mex Near Me - Fort Worth, Texas

Previously I have written a couple of scathing reviews of the Fuzzys Berry St. store. In my review posted on 9/15/21, I let Fuzzys have it with both barrels and gave them a 1 star. Despite our previous angst, my wife and I have continued to make our weekly trek as we have done for the last 19 years. I am very happy to report that the ownership and management have put forth a grand effort to address and correct my complaints. The store, now is very well staffed, the line for service moves along at a nice pace. The help seems to be more skilled with less confusion and the turnover rate seems to be much less. Several of the previous cooks who left have since returned and the food quality and consistency has improved considerably as a result. I have noticed that they have added a couple of other cooks that have been there for a while and seem to care about their work and product. Since my last review they have hired a new bartender, Candace, and she is very competent, friendly, helpful and keeps her eyes on the ball. I appreciate the efforts put forth by Fuzzys to make the reforms and changes necessary to this store. Today I will give Fuzzys a 3.5 star rating. they have earned it. I feel it to soon to give a 4 or 5 star rating, because I want them to have something to work for. It is nice to see that they care and things are working out nicely. Thank you Fuzzys! I've been a fan of Fuzzy's for many years now and it was the perfect place to stop in for a light late night bite. We were not too hungry but was craving Fuzzy's awesome white queso. I had a ground beef taco, chips, queso, hot sauce and, of course, BEER. You gotta have beer when you stop in at Fuzzy's. Our food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. The queso was perfect for the chilly evening. It was cool stopping in at the original Fuzzy's where it all began. I have a love-hate relationship with this place. Good: Good food and pretty consistent on serving size, flavor, and beer on tap at all hours. Beer at all hours - worth repeating for those coming off the night shift. I've been for breakfast and seen a bunch of nurses coming in at 7 am for a beer. A good place for that! Reasonably priced. Pecan coffee. Excellent! Not Great: Horrible parking...or rather, no parking. It is the original Fuzzy's and a complete dive. The space is small and has a million layers of paint. This is not a high-class place! It can be slow. I've waited 20+ minutes for food. Although it appears to be fast food (order at the counter and pick-up your food), it is not FAST food. The staff will bus the tables, but that means you may have to wait for a table. They get busy and leave dirty tables during the rush sometimes. There aren't very many tables, so be ready to wait. I tend to get frustrated by this place, but I go back. It is good food and I like the price. read more

First of all they ripping people off at this location. Been a long time Fuzzy's fan and the one off Overton and huelen is way better. Anyways the salads usually are big not only did I get this small bowl. The shrimp was even smaller which is crazy because they only giving you 8?! On top of that being told you can't apply a veteran discount because it's considered "seafood" I've always got my discount on the same meal! So you could've at least given more shrimp? And the shrimp was burnt at that lol yeah... nope. $5 for a truly since when?? They ripping these poor college kids off. Definitely won't be coming back to this location. Renee was the most rude hostess I've had in forever. I asked her why it was taking so long, and she gave me a backhanded response of it will only be 10 more minutes. This is when she realized the printer in the kitchen was actually out of ink so they hadn't received our order yet. Not only did it take 40 minutes to get our food while nobody else was in the restaurant, but she also must not have known how to use the computer because our order was wrong. read more

Fuzzy's has a reputation as a longstanding Funkytown fave, and I finally got over for breakfast tacos last week, just in time to start forming some opinions of my own. For starters, I can see what all the fuss is about: it's quick, easy, cheap, near campus so typically brimming with students and folks on a budget, and they do a fun, volume-friendly business. It's quirky and casual and the breakfast tacos I had were downright terrific. When you're starving, there's not much more welcome than a terrific breakfast taco. I opted for a build-your-own bacon and egg number, but know that there are scads of other original and interesting options happening regularly. And I don't think I give anything away when I say that it's really the bacon that makes a good breakfast taco of that sort stand out - my bacon was super crispy, and I left super stoked. I can also get why some folks pile on here: it's not fancy, what they're doing may seem turnkey to some. But in a pinch, I was glad to try Fuzzy's, and I no doubt will again one day soon. read more

For whatever reason, I feel like I can do a healthy cheat meal there by getting the grilled chicken salad with the house vinaigrette. Go somewhere else! Friends swore to me the fish taco could not be beat. Food was incredibly nasty and I was unable to finish. If the taste wasn't bad enough the smell was so potent I had to hold my breath in order to choke down the meal. I'm a fish fan and even love sushi, but I would recommend skipping the fish tacos. I am a little bit addicted to Fuzzy's tempura shrimp taco. I love they they use feta use on their tacos. I should branch out and try something different, but I can't seem to stray away from my favorite. I've stopped in for breakfast tacos as well, and can't get enough of their hot sauce. Yes, hot sauce, not salsa. So good! And let's not leave out the big schooners of beer. This location is a little rough around the corners, and being so close to TCU, it definitely has a college hangout feel to it. I came here with my friends after visiting them at TCU. I've been to the Fuzzy's near UTA and they don't have crawfish tacos like the one at TCU. Overall the tacos at Fuzzy's are a kind of tasteless without any sauce. Not bad, but I expect it to be a bit better if they're $2 each. One issue I have was when I ordered with my friends and we all made our order to-go. But with my order they had made it dine-in, so when I asked them if they could pack it to-go, they checked the receipt and told me the receipt said it was dine-in. Um... no, I'm positive I said to-go and my friends were witnesses. Besides, wouldn't the customer's word trump a receipt over an issue as trivial as is the order to-go or not? I've worked in the food industry for over 7 years now, and when a customer asks me to pack their food to-go, I gladly do it because it's not a big deal. read more

Berry Street location...best of the Fuzzy's! Love this place! I get excited just waiting in line! Where else can you get chips & salsa, 2 schooners of beer and dinner for 2 for under $20?!? The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. You may wait for a table, but it is worth the wait. Incredibly over-rated. I haven't lived in Fort Worth for 6 years now, but all my friends and family have been raving about Fuzzy's. I kept missing it the last several trips - so I made a point to go there my last trip home. Color me unimpressed. I had a little bit of everything. The fish taco was the best of the bunch, but considering I live in California now - it doesn't come close to the real thing out here. The chicken taco was probably the worst taco I've ever had in my life. Dear Fuzzy's: GRILL your chicken and serve it in chunks. The food processor-beaten chicken was awful. It tasted like I was eating flavored styrofoam particles. Gross. The pork taco was okay, but nothing to get excited about. I've had much better in FW...and actually, I make a more flavorful pork. The guacamole was even underwhelming - lacked spice and flavor. I don't know what all the hype is about. There are plenty of other good Tex-Mex or Mexican choices in Fort Worth. I think it's just one of those word-of-mouth fads. Sorry fellow Fort Worthians, I disagree with you on this one. read more

I've been a Fuzzy's fan for years. A great Tex-Mex place? Probably not, but beans and rice can be had anywhere; you go here for the original dishes. Counter service only with a menu that has a wide selection of Mexi-style offerings. Stay away from the traditional Tex-Mex dishes and a la carte yourself a couple of items. Had the tempura fish burrito and a shredded pork soft taco. The taco is a few bites of garlicky meat with pico, feta and a creamy aioli. The burritos are packed with fresh veg, pico, cheese, a little guacamole and crispy fried fish bites, much lighter than other Mexi-burrito places. Both are original and make you crave more, especially doused with the house hot sauce found on every table. Now the negatives, which I confess to overlooking in my eval. The "Mexican" food here is rather blah, so much so I don't even consider this a Tex-Mex restaurant -- go elsewhere if you want enchiladas. The place is right next to the TCU campus, so it can be massively crowded when school is in session. Parking is well nigh impossible and tow-zones abound year-round, so be careful. read more

This has been my go to Fuzzy's for years. Since it's right by TCU, they stay open much later, allowing for after bar taco demolishing. When I worked close to this restaurant, we would place to go orders often and they came out right. It almost always going to be full of college students. I'm a big fan of the grilled shrimp salad and of course the queso. There's a few locations in my vicinity, but I always gravitate to this one. read more

I hate giving Fuzzy's a 3 star rating...I LOVE Fuzzy's tacos. But this location has left me underwhelmed twice so I'm a little eh. First time I had just moved to the area so I went to pick up an order to take home. Ordered AT Fuzzy's, 2 shrimp tacos and some chips and queso. I guess something was lost in translation between the ticket counter and the food prep b/c I got my tacos, but no queso....but I'm pretty sure they made the chips and queso order for "there" instead of to go and it could possibly still be sitting on the counter waiting to be consumed. But yeah, wasn't so happy when I got home wanting to eat my yummy queso and it wasn't there but I was too tired from unpacking to go back to get it. Ha, such a conundrum. Second time I went with a friend and ate at there. Shrimp taco was cold. As in the tempura shrimp was cold. Not so tasty. I still ate it of course b/c Fuzzy's is delicious regardless and we were just grabbing a quick bite so I didn't feel like "complaining" over my one cold taco. I'm hoping these are isolated incidents. I won't be giving up fuzzy's so for my sake I can only hope :) read more

Fuzzy's tacos are both delicious and cheap - a college student's dream. My personal favorites are the shredded beef and spicy pork tacos, but the salads are also delicious. I keep telling myself that I'll try the sandwiches one day, but I'm too addicted to the tacos! The breakfast tacos are also AMAZING - be sure to try the chorizo, potato, egg and cheese - it's super filling and absolutely delicious. The margaritas are, in my opinion, meh. For $4 and the size of your head they're begging to be bought, but every time I've gotten one, they're usually too sweet and don't seem to have much alcohol content to them. I know other people say they kick ass, but I've yet to have one. I guess I'll just have to keep trying! At least they're always very frozen. read more

I really enjoy sitting out on Fuzzy's patio area with friends and sipping on an ice cold margarita... other than that I've never really taken too much to Fuzzy's but I don't really think it's their fault. I do like the tacos the feta or queso fresco is good and I love the seafood enchiladas. I am not a fan of the queso. I have tried that queso so many times to get myself to like it and I just can't like it. (For good queso see Fresco's). Some things I enjoy, some I don't. This was place was actually really good. I was shocked because the last fuzzys I went to my food wasn't good. This time I got chips and queso and two grilled shrimp Baja tacos. I made sure not to get any cheese on my tacos this time because I hated the way it tasted when I went to the other fuzzys. I got my chips and queso right away and it was delicious. What ever seasoning they put on the chips it was perfect. Also they added shredded cheese on top of the queso and it melts in with it. It was AMAZING. I liked the tacos this time. They weren't the best tacos I have ever had, could have been seasoned a little more but it was pretty good. I was happy that they didn't put too much of the sauce on there this time because last time my taco was so juicy it was breaking apart. Parking here is atrocious. You park behind the building and it's a really small parking lot. So luckily I found a parking spot across the street but this area is so busy so you better go before lunch hour!
