I moved to Florida a little over a year ago, and hadn't needed any auto work until recently. I borrowed my parents 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, and after I got back to Ruskin from their home in Deltona (about 2 hrs. away), I noticed an oil leak the following morning. I had driven past the FYZ Auto care shop many times, but now I needed a mechanic--I brought it to the shop and Gil, one of the owners, greeted me in the office. He took the time to listen to my concerns, and I felt comfortable to let his shop take care of my parents' truck. Turns out it had some significant issues, and the leak was originating from where the engine and the transmission connect. Gil had the truck up on the lift, pointed out what was wrong and explained the issue clearly. He worked up a fair price and even though the work took an additional day to complete, he didn't try to charge more for extra labor. He guaranteed the work for 6 months. As an extra perk, I was in the process of buying a used vehicle from Carvana, and I brought it to his shop to give it a once over before finalizing the purchase. He gave it a clean bill of health and the SUV I purchased has been amazing--and that inspection gave me peace of mind and helped seal the deal. Overall, I was satisfied with the experience. A couple of weeks after I brought the truck back to my parents, they said there was another leak. I brought the truck back to FYZ, where they checked it again, and made sure everything was working fine. They are a small shop, and sometimes get busy with work, but Gil is a good, honest guy and I look forward to working with him in the future for any my automotive needs. read more

My experience with this establishment happened a few years ago. Me, being a new RV'r brought my rig here because it needed anti sway bars. Besides being charged $4000.00, I also noticed my jewelry missing from a metal storage box I had in my drawer. On the receipt it says, not responsible for missing items. Now I know why it says that. I've watched my faithful Honda CR-V for years in my RV rear view camera as it has followed our rolling home through 48 states and 6 Canadian Provinces. At every major stop, it has given our Motorhome a rest and taken over the job of getting us to all the local attractions. When the time to leave comes, our faithful CR-V leashes back up and off we all go to our next adventure. Time is cruel, and the faithful CR-V aged, and the trips to the Honda dealership became more and more expensive. Oppressive, actually. Maybe, just maybe, time to trade and find another vehicle to flat tow behind our RV. A sad prospect. As an alternative, I hoped there might be a local shop that could do the necessary repairs and keep our CR-V on the trail without bankrupting us! I started an interviewing process, and FYZ impressed me. So I gave them a try, and their efficiency blew me away! These guys are good. They are fair. They are truthful. I don't ask more of anyone! Took my Jeep wrangler here first time to change spark plugs. I noticed that they did a great job detailing the engine compartment. But never changed the plugs. Just took my Jeep to the dealer and they told me the plugs are still the original plugs! Then my thermastat went bad. Again told me they changed it. Well my engine later blew. They said the cause was a bad thermastat. Never changed it to begin with. So I had them rebuild the engine. But first they tried to sell me a used engine with 95k miles on it for 10k . They put in a used radiator from the junk yard with out even asking me first! Now I've had nothing but problems. Oil cooler gasket not seated right. Valve covers leaking on 02 censors. They wiped excess gasket sealer on my oil pan. Very unprofesional sloppy work, and over priced. They wanted 60.00 to rotate tires. Down the street does it for 25.00. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!! As soon as he flagged you park car, get your Info then he asking you sign a bill while others hook up diagnostic equipment then he name the price of $1750 . if you do not do it . He will charge you $225 for diagnostic. I came with my neighbor friend, who recommended to the shop for car AC. What is a SCAMMED. They 've never gave the quote price before doing. I throw away $145 to get rid off of this shop. Very hard lesson. read more

This is my go-to auto repair shop in the Ruskin/ Apollo Beach area. They offer honest and fair rates and provide fast professional service. FYZ Auto Care has been around the Tampa Bay area for several years and a few months ago this shop took over another auto repair business previously located in the same location. I have been here a few times and have had excellent service each time. They were able to plug a tire I had with a bolt stuck in it. They also replaced a radiator in one of my vehicles. Gill gave me a great price to replace my radiator and they were able to get it done very quickly right then and there. They will get the parts you need, usually same or next day, at a reasonable cost, or you can bring your own parts and they will install them for you. They did not try to up-sell or over-sell me anything I did not need. I highly recommend taking your vehicle to this location for all of your auto repair needs! read more

Not dependable. Took truck in Thurs for tires and got it back Sat!! Took "emergency" customers ahead of us as they came in. Cost us daily pay and pissed clients! I had tires put on my car last year and they did a good job. This visit my husband had 4 tires and an alignment put on his truck. Wed at about 6pm he called and ordered the tires. They will be in around 11am Thurs. They came in at noon. Brought the truck in. Late in the day we called and they still weren't done! It needed a special part. My husband had it so he dropped it off. They will do it first thing in morning. It's Friday now. All day they are working on it or not answering the phone. Then late in the day Joe promised it will be done today. My husband has lost ANOTHER day of work. They closed up shop. No truck. Now its Saturday morning we finally got our truck back. They were kind enough take about $45 off for installing that special part. We lost a much more than that in pay for missing work And now have a pissed client! Why did it take so many days to put on for new tires and do alignments? Well...The driver told my husband they had worked on someonelses vehicle instead of ours because it was an emergency! Walked in wanting to get a tune up, mostly oil change and tire rotation w/ possible alignment. Person at the front desk did not say anything when I walked through the door and just stared at my boyfriend and me (no response to a 'Hi, how are you'). Talked to him about exactly what maintenance we wanted done with the car. Person at front desk told us $200 minimum for tire alignment and was probing to push other replacements for the car. We decided to go to Goodyear instead. College students and women beware. read more

Jed is lying about me stealing and doing drugs I only worked there for almost 2 weeks.i quit on my on terms not by jed firing me.he is lying and I have proof.i will post a picture of my telling him why I'm quitting.after I left I thought I grabbed all my tools but I did not.i left stuff behind.he is refusing to give me my tools back.also I did not get paid in full.he still owes me money for the work I did do in the 2 weeks I was there working. I also left do to him charging customers for parts that they did not need.he would tell them that they needed to change these parts immediately because of safety. Which was a lie.he made me change the parts on multiple cars on top of over charging the customers.i was not ok with that.i can only imagine that if my wife or daughter ever had this done to them by a guy like jed.anyone with little experience on or about cars he took advantage of them too the fullest extent. Charging them way way more than they should have ever paid. That was the main reason I left FYZ.i could not see myself being apart of a company that does this the hard working people.
