I took my Ford Escape to Hancock Tire and Auto. I was so frustrated with Brandon Ford. With 87,000 miles and my check engine light on, I was very nervous. After they assessed my car, they found the issue was most likely a Crack on the engine, along with some other issues. They told me the price of the new engine, and the cost of labor. They stood yo make a lot on the service because it was a 20 hour job; however, they were honest and decent, and did not think it was a good idea. They saved me $8500 in repair. Had the oil changed on my sons car for it's last one. Took vehicle to new place for next oil change. The new place said the plug threads were ruined by the previous place. I called Hancock. I confirmed with the owner that: 1) I did indeed take the car there for its last oil change 2) Plugs can be ruined by over tightening, and Hancock was the last to tighten 3) Hancock takes zero responsibility post service. In JP's (the owner) quote "I don't take responsibility for situations where the drain plug breaks because they are a wear and tear item". My counter was that "you were the last person to tighten that plug". To which, there was no reasonable counter. He did offer that if I towed the car (at my cost) they would "Work on it", but who would trust them at this point??? He outlined how we would band-aid the situation basically. read more

Wheel weights falling off of rims and they don't know why. Speak to JP (the manager) and he has no clue why this is happening and questions why its not happening with everyone. Then he admits they use soap and water to clean the rims before putting the weights on. He actually believes this is the correct procedure. If they cant install weights using the proper procedure and prep, they shouldn't be balancing wheels. Don't use these guys, they are ignorant in the tire change process. read more

I was on my way to pick up my kids when I drove near a construction site. I felt the car go over something. I was worried, but my back tire Disney start losing air until I was in my kids' carline. Called and verified Hancock Tire & Auto could replace a fuel pump on my 1970 Skylark. Towed car to location and after the service manager, Jim ( little to no communication skills in my opinion) watched the car be removed from the tow truck he then proceeded to tell me the car was too old for them to work on. I asked for Hancock Tire & Auto to tow the car to a location capable of performing the task -- I was there because they have performed work on my car before. Jim informed me they wouldn't tow the car as it was "my problem". I towed the car there be use they told me they could do the work -- repeatedly asked Jim to have the owner call me - No call received from owner. Not a favorable interaction. They never called us to tell us what repairs the car needed and we tried calling them we kept getting put on hold. We picked up the car on Sunday and all they did was an oil change!! Had to get my 04 ford 150 spark plugs replaced and I called everywhere and this was the last people to call. Not because I chose but just due to how google laid out the nearest auto mechanics shops. When I called it was a short ring then someone answered very professionally and said to come in now and they would have it done by a few hours. AWESOME. I dropped it off and they called letting me know it was done and the issue was fixed. They never up charged me or try to sell anything to me extra or anything! I took my truck to have the A/C checked because it was not cooling as it should on 7/29/24. The told me that it was down a little on freon and the charged it up and inserted some die in case it had a leak which would identify where the leak would be. Two weeks later on 8/12/24 I took it back because it was not cooling as it should however it would cool very well for a few minutes and then it would blow hot are for a few minutes. I checked and saw that the compressor was running when it was cooling and it would shut off when it was blowing hot air. My research said it would be due to a high or low pressure switch possibly a defective compressor. At the end of the day on the 12th they said they had been very busy and had not got to it however it would be first in line the following morning. At noon on the 13th I was told they had not gotten to it and it might be the following day. At that point I took my keys and drove it to another repair shop that took it right into a repair bay. I will have a hard time going back here because of the excuses provided by the staff. read more

They have had my 2011 Ford Edge for three weeks. It's gone from a "bad" master cylinder to a "bad" ABS pump module to a "bad" pedal and it still hasn't been fixed or correctly diagnosed. I have had to call them for updates every time. They have never called me and I still don't know when this will get fixed or how much they are going to soak me for. Stay away...far away. I truly feel robbed. I brought my car in for an issue and paid almost $3000 to fix it. I left with no power steering and was told it would cost $1000 more to fix it and I truly believe this issue happened while the car was in their care as I had never experienced an issue with my power steering before. The workers were very kind when talking to me and had great manners but I truly believe they caused this issue and I feel like I was taken advantage of. Worst place I've ever attempted to take my trucks. First attempt i needed it done by 11am so they scheduled it for 8am. Never touched my truck. Never got the oil changed. Next attempt today the 7th of Aug. brought it in at 8:30 they said the oil change would be done in 45 minutes but the tire rotation may take longer but the entire truck would be complete before noon. It is 12:01 now and i came to check in on it because i need my truck. They haven't even touched it yet! Just sat in the parking lot. Just garbage people zero stars read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Never in my life have I experienced such horrible customer service and disrespect. Went in for a battery replacement (which took 2 hours). walked out with many other issues. with no apology, no help, and no explanation. The lady at reception literally yelled at me and my husband because we questioned why we now have so many other issues. It was quite unbelievable. I should have listened to my gut when the guy in front of me was upset that they didn't replace his old battery. Instead left the old battery in along with other tools. If you want your car back in one piece, I wouldn't recommend taking it here. They could also use a lesson in customer service. read more

I was recommended by a friend to come here to get my battery checked. As soon as I pulled up I was able to find somebody to help me figure out what was wrong with my car. They tested my battery and told me I needed a new battery. I don't think it even took 30 mins to get my battery tested, get the paperwork prepared and get a new battery put back into my car. My 2004 Nissan had a transmission cooling line leak (never even heard of this) Nissan wanted $700 to replace the lines, Hancock swapped out the clamp and charged me $28. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME !!!! I recently had 4 new tires put on my vehicle and I could not be more pleased with the price and service. I have rims that are very corroded from tough Ohio winters. They told me that there might be difficulty in getting the tires to seal properly because of this. It turns out they were right. The first time the tires were mounted they did not seal. The staff acts put out with any customer interaction whatsoever. I bought several $250 tires. When one of them got a nail in it about 3 weeks later, they told me they could not fix it or warranty it. I had to pay for an additional $250 tire. When I asked for a cheaper alternative (a discount or a less expensive tire) I was told they could not help me out. They took about an hour longer than they told me they would. I will definitely NOT be back. read more

Glad I found a mechanic I can trust. The employees here are really nice and professional. I came in to get an oil change new tires and new brakes because I started to hear some noises when braking. They informed me that I don't need new brakes and explained to me what the noise was. I feel like had I taken it somewhere else they would have just replaced my brakes and I would've been out more money. They don't just fix it because you think it's broke. If I could give this place negative stars I would. I am beyond livid with this place. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!! I called them yesterday to schedule an appointment for today to get a valve cover replaced. I brought the car in first thing at 8AM when they opened and they ABSOLUTELY assured me they would call to say they have my car fixed before they closed at 2PM today. Well, 1:50PM rolls around so I decide to head up there assuming that I will have a fixed car to take home since I received no phone call--as promised. Low and behold, they flat out told me they didn't do ANYTHING to it and decided to not even give me the time of day. As a previous customer of theirs, I could not stress to them enough the lack of professionalism and accountability that was being displayed by them. They completely took no responsibility and reneged on their promise. I could've easily taken my business elsewhere, which is exactly what I intend to do. They clearly have no respect for their clients and cherry pick and choose what they want to work on that day, even if they promise you they will get what they said done. LIES!! read more
