It has taken time to get around to this review, as we were pretty unhappy with the issues and lengthy process, considering the cost. Order to final install was 5 months. We ordered the shades during a sale (25% off shades and 50% off installation), without the sale we would not have proceeded. Do we love our shades? Absolutely. The motorized sun shade makes a huge difference in keeping our home cooler and the roller shades are exactly what I wanted. Would we use TSS again? I might have considered going back, when another sale is happening, and choose lower priced shades, but there were just too many issues with this project. Our story: (11/11/2023) Our consult was easy and quick. We picked out what we wanted in no time, had rough costs and proceeded to have our window trim completed. (12/9) TSS came out and did free measurements. (12/12) Bid approved and paid. Install was scheduled. (1/12) At the install it was discovered the shades were too large to install, as ordered on wrong measurements. (1/13) New blinds ordered, install sched. (2/13) At install, motorized sun shade installed, later did not run smoothly. Both roller shades were damaged during shipment. Installer advised this is an issue. We never opened any of the boxes, and recommend leaving that for the installer in case something is damaged. They installed the damaged product, so we could have coverage on the windows and advised new blinds would be ordered in 1-2 days. (2/21) 9 days later I emailed to check on reorder, since we hadn't heard anything and advised the motorized shade was not running smoothly. Replacement roller shades were ordered only after I sent this email (?). (3/19) Replacement shade received, one damaged-installer unable to fix. Installer also worked on the motorized shade, which had issues again after a few uses. Both roller shades were installed and a replacement part was to be ordered for the one that was damaged. (3/25) Received a random email to schedule an install. Assumed it was for the broken piece of the roller shade. (4/12) Installer fixed motorized shade. When he opened the box with the replacement part for the roller shade, it was the wrong part. It wasn't a part for any of the shades we had. (4/15) em TSS reps requesting the correct part be ordered. (4/20) Received email to schedule install, again. (4/30) Installer arrived, we had not received a part and he didn't have it either. (5/3) Installer texted to see if we had any contact from TSS - None. (5/8) I em TSS to find out what was going on. Received quick reply, install scheduled too soon. Part to be shipped to us. (5/21/2024) Installation complete.

The biggest issue was the scheduling of the blinds. This much money they could call before scheduling and assist with a date that works for the customer. Buy from someone else.

    From start to finish, it was a good experience with the Shade Store. I came in knowing what I…read morewanted and spoke with Brandon (he was at the Walnut Creek location at first). He showed me the different fabric options and showed me which one he liked for the "handle" or the way it would look when mounted. He gave me an initial quote and I did not feel pressure to do anything until I was ready. Once ready, I contacted him and we transacted online mostly (which was very convenient for me). I had some questions about the new quote and called Brandon and he was available to speak and helped me with my questions. The delivery of the items came in different shipments (drapes and rings). Then the installation was scheduled online. I had email and phone reminders of when my installation will be. The installers (4 of them) came on time, were professional (pleasant, wore booties inside the house), and worked very well together to install the bar and drapes. They had good synergy. The first time around, the drapes were falling into the floor by at least 1". So they went back and reworked it so the drapes has clearance between the floor and they look great. The Shade Store is pricey but I like to think that I am supporting our local businesses and American-made products. I feel that the customers of the Shade Store would benefit if they have a colorist or a professional designer who would come out and give some recommendations on design, fabric & color. I would work with the Shade Store again for future needs.

    I would give 0 if I could…read more Absolutely do not recommend the shade store. Their customer service department is completely inept (Tatiana). We have been trying to get our roller shade and drape combination correctly installed for over a year and a half! They are unresponsive, or give the technicians the wrong information. At other times they order the wrong parts. Most recently they no-showed. This is all even while working directly with their client experience manager.
